R was winning in 07 he over analyzed the situation -from my point of view he should have just thought of it as running laps JS was the only one on the gate who could run-the reason to keep racing was hey RC you had them in a stranglehold - you could have raced a few more years at the top it was yours but you threw the checkered-

i've been watching the old NASCAR races on the NASCAR Classics channel and it's driving me crazy but who is the guy from I think "76 fuels" (maybe a PR guy ?)he's in every victory lane video from about 1979 through the 90s. my favorite part is he's got what looks gold rim sun glasses, a mountain man beard, an open collar shirt, big hair..... He just screams the 1970's and yet his style does not changed for at least 20 years. Got to love that style almost more impressive is that he genuinely seems to be more excited about being in victory lane than many of the race winners. Who is he? What's the story? How would he feel about the "frontstretch" celebrations?.... my bet is he would be there on the frontstretch regardless.... I think he's that committed.

Nope... he just said good by with a victory and never looked back... Ricky is the model of Class in a pro athlete

No one can question that on-track Ricky is the GOAT. However, there's nothing that guarantees that level of performance in the broadcast booth. Honestly, you have to ask yourself what he's seeing half the time during the race and a lot of his comments aren't super valuable (like explaining cross-rutting for the millionth time). Watch how the MXGP team does announcing- it's vastly more professional in every way.

Seems strange now the 2 responsible for keeping racing alive in Vermont are gone. RIP Ken Squier and Tom Curley. Wish I had seen the sprints at the Essex Jct Fair. Catamount Stadium was the local track that i got to enjoy in my late teens before it closed. Ken was there all the time also. The final race at Catamount was a 300 car enduro. You had to squeeze to sit the stands were so packed. Brent Dragon son of Harmond Beaver Dragon was quite comical turning laps on the infield more than the track.
