      Same here ! The first year he moved up to a 125cc I saw him race at the Washugal Washington Outdoor National while on Vacation. He just pullled away from everyone and I think he lapped the whole field. He was just wide open everywhere and nobody had anything for him. My friend said he was taking 10 years of chances in one race. It was unbelievable seeing him race in person ! I still have my 2002 Cr250R. He won all the Supercross races and all the Outdoor MX races that year. I don't think anyone will be able to go undefeated the whole year in both classes again !

      @Steezy_Mx Год назад

      Yes, Aldon Baker traveled to Florida to meet Carmichael and after a six-month trial took over his training for the 2000 outdoor Motocross season. Baker's success with Carmichael reshaped the landscape for riders and their physical fitness.
      McGraths BMX experience helped him revolutionize the way supercross was ridden, employing a technique he learned in BMX allowing him to stay a foot or two lower over jumps by coming in with more speed then soaking up the landing into his body similar to the way you ride BMX.
      McGrath, in now way, changed the sport by being physically in shape. In fact, McGrath was known to party his ass off when he wasn’t racing. This party behavior eventually created freestyle motocross

      @@Steezy_Mx so who had the more impact on the sport and should be considered the goat?

    • @Steezy_Mx
      @Steezy_Mx Год назад

      @@venicebeachsportsnetwork6677 That’s tough to say. Jeremy is Legendary. I grew up in Ventura Ca on Punk Rock and Terrafirma videos 😂
      The McGrath era, he elevated the sport but also made it more fun and brought about Freestyle. There’s so much to say about the McGrath era. He made Supercross cool and what it is today. Ladies wanted to jump Jeremy Mcgraths bones and men wanted to spike their hair and frost their tips 😂 FMX is now an event hosted by Monster In between Supercross motos! Pastrana bridged that gap.
      Carmichael is just as legendary for how he changed the sport and I also have Stewart being just as Legendary for taking the sport to an even further level that Carmichael took it in terms of speed. They both elevated the sport in unfathomable ways.
      Had Stewart rode a 450 and not 250t his rookie 450 season, I think we’d be having a different conversation about Carmichael but that’s just my opinion.
      I can’t say for certain who is the greatest because they all are. I do know that one of them is reminded that he is the GOAT whenever he’s on air Vs the others who just know 🤷🏻‍♂️

It was insane, going to Millville a few years straight during Ricky's reign was just insane, each lap when he'd come through the sandwhoops the entire crowd would erupt for the entirety of the moto. I knew Ricky was going to become what he became watching him at the final 125cc out door round of his career… he seat-bounced over a double jump & I was like “Ricky’s on another level…it wouldn’t matter what bike you put him on, he’d be doing the same thing if they put him on Jean-Michel Bayle’s from 10 years earlier, or Bob _”the Hurricane”_ Hannah’s bike from 20 years earlier, against modern bikes (to 1999). However, Ricky’s 2001 Kawasaki KX250 that he defeated King Jeremy on…that had an ECU in it which I *WATCHED* Ricky’s mechanic at the time, Chad Watts programming with a Laptop, so all this new electronic fuel injection shit…that kinda thing was out there in 2001

    I know how RC got the motivation to become the GOAT of MX. He was a short, fat ginger kid in school, and they all got picked on, every one. RC said "I was terrified to lose, scared to death! I know no sport psychologist, (a sewer study), would say that is a good thing, but that is the way I was." (Ping's show).
    RC got picked on until he started winning amateur championships, (and nobody in this industry today said good by to Loretta Lynn after she passed away.), and that is huge motivation for winning! RC BECAME THE GOAT,------BECAUSE OF BULLIES IN GRADE SCHOOL!!!. Ironic, huh.

Now, at middle age, it's funny to see how the tables have turned against the kids that picked on me. Morale of the story, getting picked on can really be a good thing for a person if they apply themselves. No hard feelings there kids!
