Because GBI needs this case to go away. It was wrapped up in a nice little package for them in his confession so they just ran with it. They dropped the ball. They also lied on the stand which hurts the states case in my opinion. They said that these 2 boys names never came up in the investigation which in fact it is now common knowledge that their names came up in this case only a couple of weeks after the disappearance.

Def listen to the Up and Vanished podcast. Most of those involved in the making of this podcast feel Bo killed Tara and Ryan helped burn the body. They feel Ryan was intimidated/afraid by Bo's family's status in the community. Ryan was also questioned while he was high on narcotics (his mothers prescription morphine)

You are completely wrong and idiotic. Yes it is terrible for her and her family, completely senseless. But this kid was 17 at the time and if you’ve followed the evidence you know he did not murder her. Yes he helped hide and destroy evidence and the body and I think it’s clear he is remorseful of that. God, I would hate if strangers on the internet judged me for the mistakes and bad judgement I had at age 17 when all I was thinking about was graduating high school.’

Unfortunately for you, she is almost as ignorant as Ryan. Ryan is going to walk, can't be convicted for covering it up, as that has passed, but I guess if the DA admits his confession was false, they could give him 20 more years on top of what he has served for lying to the GBI. But lets be real. No DA is humble enough to ever do that. Ryan has already lost his life either way, and been in jail longer than he would for just covering it up. Remember Bo was convicted for lying.
