Yeah my Victorinox Field Force Chronograph is cursed with the 21mm lug width.
Regarding the 21mm green strap you picked up from Ebay for the bambino, is the buckle also 21mm wide or is it less, like 20mm wide?
I believe less, since the strap tapers slightly

What happens if you put 20mm strap to 21mm watch. Does it look ugly?
There’s a little bit of a noticeable gap between the strap and the lugs. Some people don’t mind since it’s only 1mm, but it’s enough of a gap for me that I won’t do it
Now that the new Rolex 41mm has 21mm lugs. It's no longer hard to find 21mm straps.

I buy my Marine Nationale, natos and leather straps from cheapestnatostraps.com, (they also have tropical straps but I can't vouch for them) a small outfit in Sweden. Good prices and very good quality. Not affiliated in any way but being a satisfied repeat customer, btw.
