This First Descendant Character Tier List will examine and rate the best and worst builds based on their effectiveness and versatility. The game’s character (descendants) system allows players to choose from various options, including area damage (AOE) damage over time (DOT), tanks, and nukers. What makes a strong character in the First Descendant is the ability to be effective in any situation. Some characters are helpful during boss fights, while others are geared toward AOE only. Moreover, survivability and the utility of healing, debuffing, or buffing allies are especially useful.
In the First Descendant, you will start with one of three characters and can use Credits to select additional options. Therefore, you want to make a good decision based on your playstyle and abilities. The goal of this guide is to provide an overview of the relative power levels of each class, allowing you to make informed decisions when selecting your class and character. Below, we review each character (classes) and rank them from best to worst in the First Descendant tier list.

Your build guides are going to need a lot of updates, because the mod names aren't the same.

Most were level 8 and skills level over time and one in particular yujin absolutely does not have to follow people with a beam and has many self stay alive mechanics. Yet he failed to take the time to learn. This video was indeed thrown up quickly for the popularity views...

This video contains enough accurate information in respect to the release date of the game, and gives a good insight to new players with what they may want to pursue in it. The entitlement to a perfect video on day 1 is truly cringe. This is his job, he has to pay bills and feed his family. He balanced the knowledge of the game he has thus far, and the depth he was able to go to at this point, and released a good video for spoiled brats like yourself to cry about when he should or shouldnt post. btw 1 tip for her , use ULT only when boss spawn the 3 balls that protect him, you instant kill them ;) ofc with ambush to boost the dmg ;) have fun

@@terrencebrooks1708 use Impact rounds Sniper, built with attribute status trigger and critical , mods for weapon: critical and attribute electric. Use Cutoff beam for defense when weak enemies come close to you so you don't waste bullets. Use camouflage and ult only when you have to burst Boss (when he has 3 balls around his head) or a lot of hard enemies from range or you have to change position, you are sniper after all. you need mod for Impact rounds to decrease enemy def instead of stunning them so you provide strong debuff to every enemy even bosses. Her mods are simple, SKILL DMG, SKILL CDs, SKILL RANGE and MP and big big invest in Shield. She also loves to use Thunder cage for solo content and dont waste to much MP , your skills are Strong only when you have to use them , presing buttons on CD isnt the way

You explained how Yujins' abilities work wrong. That's now how at least the first ability works at all. I main Yujin, and im still dealing huge damage and supporting my team. I full heal myself and all my allies whenever i want to and i am able to still deal 5 million or more damage to bosses.

@@TheAlchemyBeatz it is the way I'm building my weapons. My sniper right now is dealing a little over 60,000 damage a shot for critical hits.(I'm not done with my build yet) Then my hand cannon is dealing about 20,000 per shot.
Yeah Yujin is and will be meta. He also provides damage buffs for the entire team. As well as increased damage taken debuff. Yujin will excel and all endgame bosses. And his ultimate can heal objective that you have to defend. Revives are almost instant. I think this tier list is more for open explore and early progression. Because I see all the dps characters get demolished in boss fights. Yujin isn’t that good for solo open explore. But the moment you get 1 teammate his value skyrockets

I disagree with half the tier list.
1.Viessa has the largest multipliers in the game, having a 10k rector and one module dealing 200k white damage from the first skill, as an example. S tier
2.Bunny received a huge nerf due to the inability to sustain the mana of the second skill, lost a lot of damage in the endgame. A tier
3.Gley, I don’t understand what we’re talking about at all, she is the strongest boss killer in the entire game, immortal with straight hands and correct build . S tier
4.Valby have same damage as bunny in engame , A tier.
5.Kyle same that ajax , it’s great of course that he’s a great tank, but why he needed without damage, bad on bosses and bad in AoE. B tier.
6.Esiemo have bad multimpliers on skills same as lelic . B tier
p.s agree with jayber , get nerf in 3d beta , shit damage now.
@nigat1v628 I'm not disagreeing with you about esiemos multipliers, but if lelic is b, then esiemo is at least low A. His damage is higher, more targeted, and more consistent lelic.

Couldn't agree more with you, in late game when bosses or waves etc really start to hit, i lost count of the times I had to carry 3 ultimate bunnys with my regular viessa....and yes...Gley is BY FAR the best Boss Killer in the game. This guy is one of those speed farmers that in a few days will be complaining the game has no content....

I just got Freyna "in the oven", which will be my next available to farm? Do you have a video on which come available as the game progresses? Right now I have Viessa as a starter, bunny of course, and now Freyna.
I will say that in this game every character is strong and has a lot of meaning in it. But you won't understand it if you've only played for 1-2 hours with the character.I will give Blair as an example. You didn't read his passive and you're not playing with the right weapon.
blair should be a or s bc i main him, when he said when their close he suck basically. for me when they are close i kill them even quicker
Ajax is god tier as well,he said he don't do damage😂. My guy,you don't know how to play him then. While in bubble or behind the shield. He does so much more damage. And you don't die ever lol

Facts she bad in boss fights I carried most of the bunny characters with my freyna n most ppl don’t use her abilities the right they just sit back 🤣🤦🏾♂️
That's why tier lists like this are bad, bunny is an S tier farmer, but a C tier boss fighter.
I’ve been maining bunny and she’s amazing for farming. Boss fights are harder yes but I also don’t have a proper mod kit for that content yet overall as a person who loves her style I would only rate her at B tier until properly modded and then S tier
Got my hands on bunny and instantly went back to the ice starter, she just feels... bad, i dunno
Bunny is only S tier when it comes to clearing mobs (useless) but when it comes to boss dmg there is nothing better than Gley.
In my opinion, Bunny is useless and boring to play. 90 percent of the people who play Bunny are horny weebs.
For example, I hate it when I try to beat Pyro lvl 66 and there are only bunnys in the group who are just running around stupidly....

That, but its weird to rate characters on the same scale that aren't even meant to fill the same role. Like comparing a tank to a dps doesn't make sense.
I’ve been playing Yujin since it was in my mail box (reached out to the devs but for some reason I had him) a few things I’ve learned, Yujins green beam is a good first heal, but once you click you lock the drone to them acting as a dot. His V once decently built is super strong against hard hitting bosses. His C is alright as a dot but better as CC as it slows the adds. His ult is the weakest part because it takes so long to proc but once it’s done it can fully heal a party based on distance.
The irony of this... I really dont care for bunny and neither did my best friend. I used her all night, and dont get me wrong I dont hate her. Just wasnt my play style.. the constant need to keep moving annoys me a bit. I did like casting her lightning run with lightning pulse for aoe clearing. That was nice. I much prefer a hero like Jayber. Although.. I do wish his turret was more like Borderlands 2... a permanent turret that you can toss out anywhere.. even sticking to walls and shit.
My friend on the other hand really likes Lepic. He has tried a couple other classes but didnt care for them.. keeps going back to his starter.

Jayber is amazing later down the line. end game is wave defense and boss battles which is better for the turret and will take most of your time. should be ranked S also because he can heal alongside with heavy dps if you unlock double attack turrets.

Ranking yujin D tier is insane if you’re not an actual support player you wouldn’t understand it’s not about you it’s about what you offer you’re looking at it from a standpoint where you think a support should have insane damage
Usually when you make a tier list, you give pro's and con's, but im hearing alot more cons for some of these characters. Like the Yuljin might be bottom tier, but I bet at endgame people are gonna say he is an S tier in group play. I guess this works if we are judging by solo play only.
Glad for the heads up on Blair, he was going to be my next choice after I get Freyna....

have you tried Gley with unlimited ammo abuse? you should be able to do that in both Launcher for AOE and snipers for bosses.
clearly a guy who never played a support character in any other videogame. first, if he were to heal himself, he would be a life steal dps, not a support. second, he is a support, not a healer. you are really not supposed to follow your friends healing them. you should heal them when they need, and only when they need. if they don't need healing, you deal damage to the enemies. third, again, he is a SUPPORT, he doesn't only heal allies. if you take 1 minute to actually read his abilities, you will see that he grants buffs to allies and applies debuffs on enemies. he is one of the strongest characters in the game, as it usually happens with supports in this type of game. just learn how to play him.

My only complaint with her is the Survivability, yet that my inly complaint with her. She is strong cuz she has somewhat good scaling. I'm trynna farm The Fallen Hope weapon. It's very clear that weapon was meant for her and I want it to boost her damage for single targets
@@ItsCheesecaakeyea the drop rates are wrong. I know it says "20%", which in reality, is 2/10 BUT it's per run so it's always 20%. Took me about 12-13 tries for the escort mission (hated it) to get that part to drop.

The thing with lepics ult is... Just press the button and roll immediatly. Its just so much faster and smoother

I appreciate the work that went into making this video, but it’s clear there’s a few Descendants that you just didn’t really understand. Putting Yujin at the very bottom, below even Blair, is absolutely ridiculous when he’s bar-none the best healer in the game. Sharen has the highest single-target damage potential out of any character. Ajax is a FAR better tank than Kyle because he can actually protect his team with Hypercube.
I feel like you expect every character in the game to be a DPS in addition to their other class. That doesn’t make any sense; that’s what the DPS characters are for. Ajax, Yujin and Jayber having “low damage” is not a knock against them when they aren’t even DPS descendants and aren’t SUPPOSED to be doing the damage, they’re meant to be performing their roles as tank/support/utility.
real quick since i’m a sweaty lepic main, the passive is not random, it activates the first time you would die that life, grants immunity which scales off duration too, and has a cooldown of 5 min base i believe. His Passive is definitely good as it can be used to just face tank damage and finish a dmg phase, for example instead of running away and poke damaging a boss encounter in open world, i just face tank the boss since i literally can’t die for about 5 seconds, which saves lots of time in the later areas that i’m at (white-night gulch)
also in the early stages i focused on skill power and cooldown with lepic, but to people playing him i recommend actually going duration later on, you can go from 4-5 ult shots easily with just a little more duration

agree, and, for me, the guy of the video didn't read the abilities very well. i noticed it right at the beginning as he talked about yujin. btw, lepic's passive cooldown is 10 minutes, 600 seconds (unless they changed it and i don't know, of course)

Some of those wave defense/survivals are pretty insane with some of the tons of modifiers in them just did one where we all ran out of ammo and slowly lost because everything was so tanky with hp up regen and shield next to elites it felt sad how powerless we all were in a 4 stack with a freyna ajax viessa and gley
All you need is Lepic. He is already 40 years old and has 10 mastery.

Bunny is good but terrible on the missions where you have to hold down zones. Which so far for me has been 75% of missions
Not gonna lie, your breakdown of Yujin was… quite something to hear. I brought Yujin and comfortably steamrolled content to Mastery 10 with him now at lvl 40.
Why not just pair Gley with Yujin?
Gley's drawback seems to be having to balance health but her dmg can be insane, and Yijin's issue is low output & difficulty following people.
Can't you have perma aggro Gley with a pocket Yujin then?
bunny 3 th ability tick faster whenever u move faster , it does work with the grappling hook too ( bcs u go faster while reeling the hook)

Second ever ability he does also benefits him. His drone heals him as well as the character its "attached" too.
His debuff gives every character lifesteal while active.
Mark my worlds...at high level end game a good Yukon main is going to be the most important character on the team.
And finally the Blue Beatle legendary buffs all of his skill while buffing the gun too.
I saw YUJIN in D tier and ask what, but then I saw the gameplay 💀 I would like everyone to know he’s definitely not D tier at all not even close to

Really enjoying Gley. I just stack a ton of defense and I can face tank mobs a good while. Especially if you keep rage off; you get more defense too. When mobs melt, I just get heals and charges. Only thing that’s confusing is her third skill (infinite ammo for a short while) is better than her ultimate. 😂

Yujin is not that bad just hard to play, you have to use his skill wisely and he need a lot of inves, the only problem for me is those bunny doesn't know how to stop their legs, most of the time when I go to heal them they just run out of my drone range and died.
If you roll as your activating lepics ult you can bypass the 2 sec delay
Yujin thing.. Anyone told you, that the green laser isnt actually the healing skill? Its the aiming skill who you want to heal haha. You need to either left click to activate it or aim to cancel it. Just like the AoE ultimate Heal. After activating you activate a healing drone which is following the one you aimed at BUT you still need to be fairly close (but not as close as in this video) for the drone to be active. Depending on range it switches from Green to yellow then to red. is it red, the drone will deactivate after a few seconds AND it wont heal.
He doesn’t understand it locks the drone on them and heals passively. This guy is clueless

Ill put AJAX AS A tier because. Hes a big tank if you use the modescules right. Cuz mine guy is LEVEL 40 AND I HAVE DEFENSE 20K. HIS SHIELD 🛡️ IS 4K. And he regenerate quick with shield so he very hard to die with if u enhance the mods right
Did you test any of these in raids or with their mods that change their abilities? If not, your video is missing a lot of data
I fw jayber his damage is valid and the turrets while do take a lil second to deploy they help just wish the duration were longer aside from that great support character and good for goin solo

@@terryharris8228 Blair (fire guy) actually looks sick once you get the module for his q skill that makes it throwable instead of aoe around you.

Yeah, i think as a story mode ranking, these all make sense. But a lot of the characters ranked poorly are actually extremely powerful at end game content. This would benefit from labeling it as "story mode/first play" ranking list.
The most objective tier list so far. I also think we'll soon get a balancing patch, at least once more people get into the late game.
And in hard mode when the tutorial is over the complete list falls completely appart.

I went with Jayber because I built a long range dps support build which is my style. So I can still back with a sniper and be overwatch. 4
Ajax is B- if you don't mod him, easily my favorite character, give his abilities extra range, lower cooldowns, add in a bit more mana, and you have yourself a jumping nuke on a 2 second cooldown. I love leaping in and exploding all over my enemies.
I don’t understand this “bad movement” thing, we all literally have a grapple hook that gives us insane movement potential if used correctly
I bought that healer guy cause thats what i love to do and it was as horrible as you said wish i saw this before i did that. 😢
So that green beam you don’t follow them you lock on them and click the firing button and then a healing drone locks on them and heals them. I like him if you like supports
The way he explained the healer isn't actually how it works. I main the healer, and I still do about 5 million damage for certain activities.
Play what you love! This tier lists are kind useless so early in the game.
@ccheryl2003 you have a high skill character. He is not solo friendly and can feel clunky in groups without communication. He is a character for coordinated groups in high-end content. He is heavily geared to support. Keep at him, learn his kit, learn your positioning in a group, and I guarantee that when endgame comes, you'll have players beating down your door to run bosses with them. Also, get the legendary Blue Beatle...that gun was made for him.
@@davidcook9852 You're right, only a true support player will waste their time on yujin. He's not easy to play especially solo. Supports will be sought after in the endgame that's for sure

Lepic is hella underrated I've been clearing through the story fine and the cannon does hella damage to the giants
Ajax underrated....he the difference between surviving an enemy barrage or team getting nuked by enemies
This tier list is interesting you should’ve prefaced this is early game tier list not fighting bosses really because Yujin is insane and make late game way better just like other Sharen is better in team fights, but if I look at is just missions good tier list 🎉🎉
