Wow mate you've got a Kartel. My wife bought me the same model but with black face when we visited their shop in St Andrews in Scotland last week. Have mine on a dark brown Watchgecko vintage strap. Great vid as always pal.👍
It's amazing how much changing the band can change the look of a watch. I prefer the single pass natos. My favourite strap I bought was a red lizard strap I bought for tudor GMT . It looks the dogs , 🐕. My son wears it now. I have broke the straps in , in quite a similar way. . Roll it round your finger and then place an elastic band loosely round it overnight . It works really well . Good job buddy
I have a couple of favourites. My Speedy is on a purpose made Rallye strap from a company called Heurville. And my Reverso is on a copy of the JLC Fagliano strap which believe or not was made by a company called Jones of Tokyo. Both amazing quality. I have looked at the Colareb range a few times. They look nice 👍
The only problem I have with leather is living in maryland the weather changes... heat humidity and rain storms. So there's a whole season of no leather wearing. Plus finding a company that makes a strap in a comfortable size for my wrist isn't easy. I have a few but it took a long time. But Excell straps on your table buddy!
D'oh! Was hoping to find links to websites in the description (as my hearing's not too good and I get rather distracted by my dog), but maybe next time. Still lovely straps and timepieces you have, and thanks for your video. It's well made.
Barton Watch Bands have a rubber leather hybrid in a quick release option. I have been considering it. I am a big fan of all the bands I've purchased from them.
Great video Andrew, I too am a bracelet guy but just recently been experimenting with rubber (well silicone actually), and leather. The silicone went on one of my divers from Barton bands and is black but has a colourful underside that you can see also from the side. May sound a bit naff but subtly picks out any bright colour on the dial as a contrast. Then bought a few cheap leather straps (eBay), some quick release spring bars and some leather punches from Amazon. First go I punched straight through but after some practice and using a cocktail stick to replace the spring bar, success! Also surprised at the quality of some of the cheap straps, might not last but worth it for occasional wear. Jeez perhaps I’m a strap geek 🤓
I love a nice dress watch on leather. But I am hesitant because the first leather strap I had ended up stinking from sweat. I ended up paying over £200 for a custom made leather strap from Camille Fournet that had a rubber waterproof underside. Divers' watches should never be on leather for me!
Wouldn't drop it in water to break it in, as it will significantly reduce the life of the strap. Just as with leather boots, you can use water to make them wear in if they won't stop hurting you. But it will lower the life of the leather significantly
1) Leather (inc bunds) 2) solid Bracelet 3) mesh bracelet 4) canvas 5) Rubber 6) Nato (they really look awful) I've never tried others such as perlon or sailcloth so I can't rank them.
Great video always interesting (even leather straps) On the subject of straps I seriously fancy a watch with a rubber strap with big letters like the breitling superocean. I re-watched your video from a year ago comparing it with the tudor pelagos but it was on stainless. What do you think of these rubber straps? I value the opinion of 'the' Internet sensation 👌
I’ve had that Breitling strap you are talking about, unfortunately I found it very stiff and difficult to get on and off - it was an extra on top of the bracelet when I bought a watch but I ended up selling separately as I just didn’t use it
Binge watching yur videos at the moment Andrew, new subscriber, debating either the Tudor BB Burgundy or the Oris Cherry. My wrist is about 7 3/4 - fairly chunky. I had the aquis a couple years ago in 43.5. Loved it. Is the BB worth the extra grand i wonder. Money's at a premium - do i treat myself to the cherry or save the little extra! Thoughts please mate!
Appreciate the message and the Sub - thank you. It’s a tough choice as not much in it quality wise, do you have other watches in the collection, will this be your main watch?
@@watchandrew I've sold a couple In the past, sadly about 20 years ago I sold my gmt coke for silly money, the same with my no date sub, when I lived in the US. That went for a song too! Now I want a quality watch, have a good job, would like a mini collection again. I have the red g shock smart watch, I kinda like the red theme! Is the aquis 41.5 a similar fit to the tudor, to me it looks smaller. I thought your review of the aquis was fantastic. The honest review of the tudor made me think. Tudor....paying more for its prior association with Rolex. I know the quality is there. On both. Oris don't quite have the accuracy tho I tend to wear my watches a little fast, by a couple mins or so. Thanks for your time mate. Be good to see your channel grow with the likes of Paul Thorpe etc. I think you deserve it with the time and dedication you're putting in.
Ahhh really good off you to say Rich, thank you. For a small collection of go Tudor and the black bay red, I’d definitely have one back as it was so darn sexy! But can you live without a date feature? You genuinely can’t go wrong with either, the Oris wears small, which is a good thing and depending on how you feel maybe a massive benefit.
@@watchandrew I can yes I think Andrew. I'd have thought the Aquis may have got the extra ooh la la to be honest, but this is tudor I suppose. I'm in it for the love not money so I'm still torn. I am leaning now towards the BB to be honest. Thanks mate. Another grand that could cost me !!
Links and prices mate?
You're doing a watch video, yet you're not wearing one. Classic!
Very nice video. I'm currently selling off all of my watch but two. So straps are going to be my way forward with this hobby. Thanks!
This globemaster is sick with the grey strap.
Love the picture behind you what movement is that from mate
The blue one is the Omega 321
@@watchandrew the rolex one is good aswell mate 👍

Ahhh great experience I bet. Did you get it engraved?
@@watchandrew Yeah, the wife had it engraved, great experience!😃👍

The Omega Globemaster is so nice
rolling the straps was the best advice!
thank you!! really does work

Thanks for watching and sounds like you’ve got some decent ones yourself….!

Great video. Which Delug strap is that please ?
What I wish someone would make is a combination leather on top and rubber on the bottom, that imo would be sweet
Barton Watch Bands have a rubber leather hybrid in a quick release option. I have been considering it. I am a big fan of all the bands I've purchased from them.
Hirsch watch bands are a combo as well.
Quick release spring bars.
Thanks Derek, little late now with the advice though….😂
Andrew, great video, would you please leave links to buy all straps brands?
hey Luis,,, this vid was a while ago but from memory COLAREB where the best for me,,, DeLugs also were very decent.
Andrew, I crack up every time you say, "niggles" 😂😂
What's the name of the strap the second one from the left?

Hi mate thankyou for vid, what watch is that @4-34 ? The square shaped? Love it😁👍
It’s called a Kartel watch, a company from Scotland - very well priced and yes, really nice looking!
@@watchandrew Thankyou so much for reply, will look into it now😁👍
Great video. I am definitely a bracelet kind of guy but want a leather strap for my Speedy and will now look at the Venezia 🙏
cheers mate and yeah, I'd defo have a look at them,, well nice!
Actually in the old west it was common to piss on leather before forming it to size. Later it can be conditioned.
So I better try one of those Colarebs. People seem to love them. Big Delugs guy here, but maybe I’ll branch out ! Fun video per usual!
cheers mate, definitely worth giving a go, let me know what you think?
Interesting and helpful.

Doesn't sweat and water still mess up the leather (even though not as bad)?
Do you know the specific strap name for the second strap (on the Bremont watch) ?
Quick release spring bars 👍
too late now Lee - where were you when I was filming!😂
Try Mansarea watch strap.
Made in Spain 🇪🇸

I’m bracelet then leather mate.
I have one nato and one funky Victorinox strap.
Apple hey….? Hmm….
always good for a change up mate,,,
1) Leather (inc bunds)
2) solid Bracelet
3) mesh bracelet
4) canvas
5) Rubber
6) Nato (they really look awful)
I've never tried others such as perlon or sailcloth so I can't rank them.
Colareb all the way. Good to know they last the test of time also
they definitely do last, great straps
