- Watch straps are one of the best ways to provide new life to a watch by giving different looks. Since launching the channel I have developed several watch strap lines and worked with different manufacturers until launching a new line this year with Hadley Roma. In this video, we tour the facility where our US watch straps are made, the process used to create the different brands on our site, and things to consider as a buyer when looking to buy straps by examining different materials.

Hey all, thanks for watching. Just for 100% transparency, there are also more affordable straps on our site that Hadley Roma makes for us that are made overseas as well so we can hit all price brackets. All products on the site that are made in the US are marked and it is clearly mentioned in the description. Just wanted to make that clear for those stopping by the site looking to support made in the USA goods. Appreciate the support and I hope you enjoyed seeing the process!
Do your straps have quick release springs and deployant clasps?
@@okihaveaname we offer deployant buckles on the site and quick release can be added to any leather strap upon request following an order.
What watch were you wearing in the video? Looks nice!
@@SushiDud Thank you! It was the Sinn 556!
Teddy, an excellent and informative vid.
She's great. Have her as a guest on your show once the pandemic is over.
so want this to happen
She really know her craft. She is a rare breed
I had no idea how this is done. My thanks to the ladies who helped you make this video.
'There's my Teddy." 🤔🤣
😂
I love that lady. She could be my boss anyday
GRETA is wonderful.
I was just about to commemt the same 🤣
Keeping it respectful, she was well maintained for her age. Working with exotic materials paid off!😃
Yeah she ain't bad for her age somehow
I'm the guy who can never find a watch that fits. I always order 5 extra links to my wristbands and never wears leather or poly material because nobody makes my size. A G-shock is barely long enough to close on the last hole (it falls off).
Thank you Teddy! It’s Great to Learn that American 🇺🇸 products are still made with Such care and expertise! Eric
This makes me appreciate true hand crafted goods more than I did 🔥
Guenther 😳
Oh niiice, not often.... actually I don't think I've ever seen a video on how straps are made, you get lots about the tearing down and fixing up of the inner workings of watches, but the strap? I think this is a first for me. Great stuff!
It is a very involved process. There are more steps in making a watch strap than a belt and many other leather goods. Thanks for watching!
I really like Hadley Roma straps. Great designs and top quality. I really the enjoyed this video.
That lady is amazing - a true professional!
Gotta have Gretta create her own Teddy Custom Strap. Would definitely buy it - She's fantastic
Greta is awesome at explaining the process, a lot wisdom and knowledge there. Some of those machines look like mid 1940's made for the War effort
This was super cool. I really enjoy hearing from people that prioritize quality and craftsmanship. Very cool.
Every great company has someone like Greta. This was good fun. You chose a good company, Teddy.
She's a professional through and through - worth her weight in gold. Good guy Teddy trying to be helpful, too!
Whatever they pay that lady, it isn’t enough! She’s so good! Thank you
Here in Brazil we have some hand made leather bracelet companies, I see you visiting your bracelet supplier and seeing the process from scratch, you really see that they bring to the product its real value above its price. Congratulations on believing in artisanal producers. They deserve this type of recognition even more these days.
I’m double surprise... first, because they are made in the USA, and second because they are made 20 min from home... Amaze!!
Thank u so much being a watch enthusiast i had always dreamed of how do the straps get made. And you showed it to us.
Thats called the truthness
Wow! This is the first time I saw how straps are made! I like the way you are transparent about where and how your watch straps are made. It really strengthens the credibility of your brand. Thanks Teddy!
Now this is something I look forward to watching! :) Love a good BTS!
Thanks buddy! We are editing our video that should be out soon 👍🏻
@@TeddyBaldassarre awesome, looking forward to it!
@Swiss Watch Gang Keep up the good content too Marko
@@TheRj1986 oh thank you! 🙏
One of the most interesting videos in the Watchmaking world I have recently seen! Well done Teddy! 😀 🎉 ⌚
Wow!!! This is really eye opening! I have never considered buying one of your straps but after this, I definitely will!!!!!! Guaranteed! Thanks for sharing! Amazing! And yes... She is absolutely fantastic!!! Please pass that on to her! She just made you a hell of alot of sales!
Great idea showing the people behind the makings of the straps. Happy to know that when a strap is purchased it goes to support some really great people.
Sometimes we don't pay much attention to te strap when it concerns to a watch but this shows that it is also an art and the importance of it
Props to that lady, it‘s so lovely to watch how she knows every step of her trade and explains it really well! This was very enjoyable to watch!
Great video Teddy big call out for the lady that showed you the process. Amazing she was there 30 years such dedication and skill. Loved her explanations and ease which she explained everything.
Incredibly informative video. Thank-you for making this happen.
AWESOME. new appreciation for time and energy goes into those bands.
I live in Southern Vermont now but grew up and spent most of my life in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. That's so awesome that you go through them. Definitely gonna order a few leather straps this week.
You just changed my mind on Hadley Roma. What a great showcase. Better than some I saw on prime TV channels.
Same. I've had some good straps from them, I've had some iffy ones from them... but after seeing this I appreciate them more.
Hi Teddy. Please consider making a part two of this video highlighting these amazing people again, without the masks. American craftsmanship deserves to be celebrated more than ever.
Teddy! That was legit! Thank you for the behind the scenes and showcasing all of the great folks at Roma. You earned my business!
I really appreciate the fact that you went out of your way to do this!
You have a customer in me!
Hello Teddy.
That was some good craftsmanship I have to say.
Old machines, long time employees and some done by hand.
That's my next strap when the time comes.
Stay safe and take care.
Teddy, this is such an excellent video. Thank you for showcasing the company you have selected to manufacture your watch bands. It introduces us to the detail, quality, and genuine personnel of Hadley Roma here in the USA.
This video shows the dedication of both Roma employees and yourself, in working diligently to seek and achieve high standards in all their and your efforts.
This is a great video, Teddy! Not only did you educate me regarding Hadley Roma and the extraordinarily old school techniques used to produce a product right here in America, but also about the straps you sell that they produce for you.
I have to admit, I learned a lot and I enjoyed the level of information and insight...wishing only for more. This was very, very good.
Following this video, I have reinvigorated my search to find a new strap for my 1970 Accutron (which has an Imperial lug-spacing that translates to around 17.5 mm) via your site and Hadley-Roma's.
I LOVE Greta!
She did a fantastic job explaining everything and showing you guys around. Not as easy as she makes it look I’m sure!
Fantastic upload Teddy!
Awesome video. Respect to you for supporting a local manufacturer and sharing how much goes behind the scenes in order to make a quality product.
This is why people value heritage in watches. Its not because a certain brand means you spent a certain amount of money. If you buy something from a heritage brand the product you are receiving is made by someone like Greta who will notice every single detail and be able to give something that is made completely professionally in every way. Someone who hasn’t been making straps for 30 years can not give you the same results. People like her are the reason name brands matter.
Now I have a better understanding of why watch straps seem expensive for their size. A lot of hand work and expensive raw material.
@@ark8tct Exactly. These straps are way overpriced.
Give that woman a raise! She's been working there since before you were born...
Very nice production. I have several Hadley Roma straps that are either new or new old stock. They make a very heavy and durable strap.
I don’t pay enough for these straps. Wow! Great job!
So great to see. I think picking out the right straps for our watches is half the fun watch collecting. Straps totally influence the whole look of a watch. I really enjoyed this, thanks. 👍
Really happy to see this, Teddy. I’m a leather strap guy and always remove my bracelets and install a high quality leather strap. This video is a real treat for a strap person like me.
that lady was so wholesome
I've long appreciated Hadley Roma for their established history and certainly because they're a USA manufacturer providing quality and reasonable price points. Thanks so much for profiling and using their products. I have a Hadley folding clasp bracelet from the early 30's that came with a 1935 Bulova President with "Wandering Seconds." Really cool knowing the same company made this vintage bracelet as well as my modern straps!
Great video!! I love American made goods and the factory tour was amazing.
I bought an alligator strap after watching the time and craftsmanship put into Hadley Roma products.
extremelly complicated and laborious process. had no idea. i'm impressed.
Love American made, handsome craftsmanship.
2 minutes in and my brain has frazzled... no wonder why his watch straps are expensive (handmade, good quality and hand picked materials). The woman is dedicated, over 20 years in the business!! We need more of her in every industry.
Thank you for always providing quality content. Watching your channel started my journey in this rabbit hole 😂. Btw, nice Sinn 556 ⌚
Thanks Teddy for showing this. Excellent video and the masters of their crafts are very good in explaining/sharing their knowledge and their love of what they are doing...Beautiful. Cheers.
Brilliant, fascinating, informative and enlightening. Thanks Ted!!!
As a watch enthusiast, I found this to be an excellent video highlighting the craft and passion of strap making. In our growing world of automation, what a refreshing reminder of work of the human hand. Well done here, Teddy. Keep sharing your passion with us. I'm sold on the quality Hadley Roma traps you distribute. Happy Holidays.
Cool I didn’t know Hadley Roma made their straps in the US. I like that they sell the straps with the lengths in the description because with small wrists it’s often hit or miss when I buy leather straps.
wow what an informative video. Could have watched it at half the speed with more close-ups but only because it is so wonderful to see craftsmen and women at their peak.
Wow, I absolutely LOVED that video! Folks there know what they are doing!
Wonderful video, great to see other aspects of watch manufacture. Watching this makes you appreciate what goes into making a watch band and the parts and pieces and tools involved. Well done.
It's so cool. This smell of leather 😌
It’s the best!
Loved that. Those guys really take pride in what they do. So refreshing.
I own a Hadley Roma strap and absolutely adore it. I had no idea how much work goes into making one. Makes me appreciate it even more. Thank you Teddy for a great video once again and for choosing quality partners for your new endeavor!
Teddy is the man! The entrepreneurial man!
Brilliant video!! Informative and so brilliant to understand the craftsmanship going into the straps!
this was very enjoyable video - thank you teddy and the guest for showing us around.
Really excited to see the behind the scenes.
Really impressive craftsmanship!! Thx so much for sharing. Cheers.
One of the coolest videos, I've ever watched! Thank you Teddy!
I’ve got 2 straps so far from you Teddy. I have not been disappointed so far lol so thank you!
Thanks for the purchases James! Glad you enjoy them!
Wow, great job - so many steps to achieve high quality product. Thank you Ted.
Definitely wise for Teddy to let us in. Because as he mentioned.... many of us are clueless as to what's a good vs bad strap. So now that I learned some stuff, I'll be sure to buy my next strap at Teddy's. 👍👍
Fascinating. Love Hadley Roma already ❤❤❤
Top notch stuff Teddy! I love learning about the craft and anything related to watch making an accessory ‘s… Thanks for the great piece! Now it’s time to shop your straps!
Love it !!thank you for awesome content as usual!!
Wow !! Best video on watches i have viewed in a long time !!! Really provides valuable insight into the process of the oft neglected watch band.. Will def purchase a band from your site now !!
Super cool seeing behind the scenes. Thanks for showing us!
Its crazy how much goes into a strap. I definitely appreciate my straps even more now. I have a $60 hadley roma alligator embossed strap and its absolutely fantastic but I had no idea so much goes into it!
The skills here are so amazing the workers are dedicated this is what we need more of in America. Thank you for sharing this video.
Great video Teddy. Very interesting peaking behind the curtain. Would be great if you could do more content like this in the future.
Great video. Very cool seeing the ins and outs of strap production.
What an educational piece. Thanks Teddy.
I found this fascinating....Teddy thank you for sharing.
This is very cool to see Teddy! A good start to my day. Now you have me thinking straps! You can never have too many.
Really great episode to show the other side of watch related industry, like it!
I've really learned a lot from your watch reviews and ways to approach collecting. Ordered two straps yesterday and will likely get my next watch from your site. Great vid!
Well done teddy, haven’t seen much strap content lately, great video
Outstanding! Many thanks!
I enjoyed this view into strap making very much, thank you.
Great idea for an upload Teddy. Really enjoyed it. Plus, Greta is such an amazing lady. Wealth of knowledge. I hope she see’s all the nice comments and her boss too 😜
P.s really glad they’re making things the old fashioned way.
Thanks for giving us the behind-the-scenes of your straps. Very interesting!
Excellent! Most informative. Thanks.
Love the attitude teddy. Stay humble bro it’s going to get you really far. 💯😊
I got a Hadel Roma lizard print strap for my grandpas old vintage timex. LOVE IT!!
I’ve been buying HR for decades. This look into the manufacturing was awesome! I just assumed these were mostly made by machine with little hand craftsmanship. Couldn’t be more wrong. TB, keep up the great videos.
I had no idea it was that complicated.
As a watch enthusiast for over half a century, the same here. I'm more than impressed, I'm inspired!
That goes for most products. I used to watch this show on the discovery channel "how stuff is made". The production of waterproof work boots blew my mind. At the end of it I was like "how are these things less than 500 bucks?".
It is complicated, because it has not been automated in any way and they still do it in a sweatshop with 70yo equipment.
@@AGWatchesAndGear You think this isnt automated? Skiving machines, clickers, and sewing machines is as automated as it gets.
That was great. It was Good to sit down and watch this.
Very cool to show your mfg.... not all would have the confidence to put a mfg on display like you did with a high quality vendor such as Roma.... much props! @nashvillewatch
Very informative! Hand made construction, and made in the USA...love it. Thanks Teddy.
That was a lot of fun. Thanks, Teddy.
This is beautiful in every sense of the word.
