If you don't like them, thats fine, but some of the info in this video is just not true. You can definitely change the volume with tap controls (among other things), and you can turn off the automated ANC through the Sony app. You can even change some of the tap commands in the app. I tried them out yesterday and all of these functions worked properly. I agree though that the noise cancelling isnt the best, but it's not a flagship model, and I think the focus is comfort in the first place 🤷 There's obviously better (and more expensive) headsets out there, but its not fair to review it this way if you dont know the functions of the device

Low key I think some of your info is wrong, I’m gonna need a video or link to how these have touch control through a rubber material.
      Even the product description says:
      “Intuitive Control Methods
With WIDE AREA TAP, you can use double or triple taps in front of either of your ears to control playback”
      Tap is not touch
But If turning off the “automated ANC” doesn’t also fix the piss poor ambient mood, my video is still a valid.
I really wanted to like these buds and if a few software updates fixes them I’d repurchase.

@@Fredo.heavyy I think the way you phrased it in the video is making it sound like there is no way to adjust the volume, hence the comment. You can do multiple taps with wide area to increase or lower the volume. The fact that you did not cover the multiple tap/volume gestures in the video is also not helping.
The tap registers much better if you use two fingers. It seems to use the vibration, so once you know the level of force to use, it works smoothly. People who are on the move or running will no longer have to use touch control and uncomfortably dig the eartips into the ears or struggle with tiny buttons on some models. Whether you look crazy or not is debatable. It looks no worse than some people fiddling around and re-adjusting from touch controls or tiny buttons. You also don't go tapping play and pause all the time in real life.
ANC and ambient doing inconsistent levels is definitely adaptive mode, which you can turn off. In its off mode, it is not "constantly trying to adjust" to anything. If that's the case, then you have a faulty product.
This product is certainly not the king of earbuds, but it's not such a flop that it will have no place in the market. It actually fills in a good niche for consumers.
      - Excellent comfort and fitting
      - LDAC High-res audio like the flagship
      - DSEE for music upscaling
      - Autopausing
      - Multi-point connection
      - Very clean and intuitive App
      - EQ adjust
      - Customizable Wide-area tapping
      - Surprisingly decent microphone
      - IPX4 water resistance
      - Quickcharging
      - ANC/Ambient mode (Mid and meh, but they're not nothing)
On top of these, there are gimmick features that could be a hit or a miss for people. If it works, then it's good. If it doesn't, then turn it off. Options are always good for us consumers.
      - Adaptive ANC & Ambient mode
      - Speak to chat
      - Shake/Nod to respond to calls
      - Voice control
      - Background music mode (surprisingly okay)
      - Auto switch to Linkbuds Speaker
If ANC and ambient modes are the main criticisms, then these buds are fine. That's not what Linkbuds series is about. Expect those things from the next 1000x model.

@@Fredo.heavyy I really wanted to like them as well. I took mine back after a few days. The Wide Area Taps were too inconsistent to work properly. One very cold morning in Illinois 18 degrees I couldn't get the taps to work at all. Once I got in the car with fabric gloves on they did start working. If the software could be corrected I would consider getting them again although the fit is not great for me. The sound was very good though. For $200 bucks you should expect better. XM5s are the way to go.

I got a pair in green. I agree the tap is very inconsistent mine worked but you had to tap pretty hard (maybe its the wide area setting that makes it work). The wide area tap works in sensitive mode with tapping your you face better. The volume does work the same way out of the box tapping a bunch of times on the left bud turns the volume down, tapping a bunch of times on the right (more than 4) makes the volume go up, the same as the XM5. The cover does feel very thin like you will have to replace it. I appreciate your getting right to the point early in the video. I cant get a great fit which affects the ANC, I have a different size in one ear than the other. Thanks for your videos and work. Hard to want to wait for the software to maybe catch up. The new Bose for 129 seems like a better deal and does finally have wireless charging with the case. I agree XM 5 would be the better way to go.
