    FYI, since you ran a single strand instead of using 2 strands around each corner the spacing between the LEDs means you have 2 LEDs facing each other at the corners & why it's too bright in the corners. Instead use 2 strands & stop 1strand on 1 side of the corner & start 2nd strand on 2nd side of the corner & LED spacing balances out & not doubled up in the corners :)

      I Know mate ideally the strip should be in sections but these are expensive, I didn't want to cut this strip id rarther add another later
      and the Hot spot seen in the footage doesn't show to the eye the camera show s it worse
      your right though there are 2 diodes pointing toward each other in the corner because of the angle they are fitted which does create a brighter area

    My head is in a spin mate!!! I've been looking at all sorts of LED lights for my stairs & landing over the last few days, & I was about to pull the trigger on a full Aqara setup. You may be able to put me in the Rembrandt here? Can I use these Govee M1 lights in conjunction with 2 motion sensors? One at the top & one at the bottom of my stairs to trigger the lights when movement is detected in those areas? I have an Amazon Echo device but I don't know for sure if I can get the results that I want? Any help would be greatly appreciated & I thank you for your time sir.

    • @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5
      @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi,
      Interesting question, i think it would be possible in theory but you would need some sort of trigger and to leave the lights on automatic, As they Do remember there last setting. There is no way to do in the govee app that i know of, But I know Google can automate it for when you arrive home etc...
      so i assume it can be done with Alexa or some other sensor of some type maybe you should also look at WLED and using a wifi module thats programmable thats also another option but i am also looking to add some abiant lighting to the Stairs so I may have a project soon Thats similar :) I hope that helps answer the question My Friend have a great Day / Afternoon

    Nice video mate, just 1 question, can you see the spots from the leds through the diffuser or does the diffuser work well to create a seamless light strip?

    • @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5
      @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5  Год назад +2

      You can see see the hot spots slightly on my difuser when i do them again i will either use a better difuser or they are ways to completely eliminate them customising the difusers further
      if you want pure color the rope light or something custom with very dense led spacing would work or if your reflecting the lights off something that would also eliminate the hot spots in most cases

      @@REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5 thanks for your response mate, it's very much appreciated. I have a profile that is only 12mm deep, might go for opal / milky diffuser or alternatively test the leds stuck on the side wall of the recessed aluminum profile so its indirectly not seen when looking at them and hope for the best. My design is a rectangle in the middle of a ceiling within a recording room so that's why I was aiming to want them seamless. I went for the govee m1 leds because of the available options / scenes it offers. Thanks again for your help.

    How Close should i place the m1 music mic from sound source! I have 3,5x3,5 home theater and thinking of placing the light strip behind me against the wall in the bottom, ae opposite site of my speaker. But i think there is plenty of sound in the room for the govee mic catch it

    • @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5
      @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5  Месяц назад

      tbh mate the mic is quite sensitive mine for eg:
      is top corner and mic runs down the wall and hidden under a shelf the sound bar is also the opposite side of the room and it picks up even quiet audio quite well
      even being at around 5 to 6 meters away i dont think its a problem in normal sized rooms
      if its going to be too close to the speaker you can also change mic to your mobile device and customise the volumes incase of any issue but it shouldnt be a problem to place anywhere in the room really My Friend ! thx for taking the time to comment and have a Great Day

    I am thinking of getting these. If i am getting multiple do I buy an extender or what. And will they connect in the app or do I have to control both separately. • @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5
      @REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5  5 месяцев назад +2

      They are not stupid questions at all my Friend : )
      Okay so yes you can connect them but they can only do 2 strips per power supply so for eg if you want 10 meters you simply connect the 4 pin connector at the end of the LED strip into the socket on the end of the other and only use one power supply
      But not all strips have this feature luckily these Govee M1 do have the connector built in
      2 strips max though and yes you simply update in the app it will ask you to update the length of the strip very simple to do once you can navigate the app
      as for looking good thats personal taste but i think they look amazing on the top of my wall and i still have them there and on right now they look great in my opinion : )

    Im wondering actually that people still use google home 😂
    Idk if you tryed apple, first, it reacts lightyears faster 😂
    Second, you can dictate letters or really complex sentences, where google will fail and google can't do letters anyway 😂
    Basically it's disgusting, because google started first with all that speech assistant, and you expect that it's good 😂
    But once you tryed Siri, you will realize how freeking far in the past google is, the differences are night and day 😂
    At least for German speakers like me. Maybe that's better for English speakers.
    However i didn't seen anyone longtime having a google nest or something like that old crap 😂
    Otherwise, you're clearly goovee hyped, but the m1 is indeed a good strip and you made a good video either!
    Personally i still prefer wled with 144/m, 5meter long ws2815 strips, powered from both sides 🙈
    The problem with that goovee stuff is, that leds are combined.
    Means that the effects need to be fast, to make it look seamless....
    With my 144/m ws2815, described above solution, you can have really "slow" fluid effects, that are relaxing!
    Not that super fast effect speed crap, because the lights are combined 😂
    That's probably great for a showcase, but not for day to day living 😂
    Cheers

      Apple to me are one of the worst and i would ever use them again i hope someone else can make chips as fast as them though
      unfortunate but yes im stuck with alexa and google lol until Jarvis is finished lol
      Some intricate Led Kits can be more fluid i saw Chris Maher do a awesome video on these type of strips
      but govee have impressed me with this one and although normally there needs to be fast movement with Govee fluidity This one looks good even slowed down unlike my Desk which kind of stutters to the next colour on slow chaser etc

    Isn’t this a roll of £29,95 led in a £70 incredibly useless beautybox? You reviewers really have to start critting manufacturers when junk is just unnecessary junk that drives the cost up.

      i get the point but These are The Best LEDs Iv seen upto now and Used
      im all for budget kits too but this is a premium set not a typical set for that there is a extra cost to consider anyone who knows RGB wouldnt take a 29.99 set over these because the 29.99 set cant do what these Can the box is a beauty box but again it was a nice exerience and i appreciated the quality theme Throughout

      @@REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5 anyone that knows LED barely takes a looks at govee as they can get these types of led for about $10-$15 for 5 meters (60 LEDs per meter), without a controller. While the Govee probably have the best store bought controller it's not worth an extra $50.

      @@AnhtoanNguyen128 i agree mostly !
      i said in the video you can achieve this much cheaper, if A you know what your doing with Controllers Voltage supply etc B Be prepared to build it...
      but for those who want to buy a kit ready to go i can promise you i have Never seen LED s that are as bright as this and with all the features of community sharing effects and so on as diverse although a little pricey
      but yes you can build something that does the same much cheaper

      @@REALLYRANDOMREVIEW5 MY reply was not to take away from what Govee offers, as its a good product. They way you speak of their lights almost sounds like they are paying you to say those words. While its a good product my point is only to illustrate that the value of price vs product is very high. The lights they sell is about $15 from a different company.
      They are charging people an additional $55 for the controller and integration.
