i just installed the T3 lite 75-85 inch tvs. I’m really liking it, the leds turn off basically when the screen is dark or black. that reason has me liking the T3, also the slim design. I also got it on sale at $89.99. since I didn’t pay so much, I may still upgrade to the T3 flagship model if it has even better features.

Im quite happy with it, although I found the calibration a bit of a pain in the ass.
I haven't found that black bar elimination feature though that's supposed to turn top and bottom off when watching movies?

My biggest issue with all the other reviews is that they have there cameras set to auto, where even with a side by side comparison you can't really tell so much of the difference because it changes exposure with the light. So thank you for having your camera set to give an honest depiction of the colors.

After watching your comparison, it looks like the 3 liters is actually much better at adapting the light to what’s pictured on the screen. It even moved backlight in the same direction as the colors in the screen.
Yeah really depends on what you want out of the color reproduction.

As far as color/ light tracking makes sense. T2 with side cameras see colors on sides better. T3 looking down the middle track things in the center better. I've noticed this middle/side tracking with my T1 for the year I've had it. I've been wanting something that keeps dark areas off while still tracking lit areas of screen. T3 might be what I'm looking for. Thanks for the vid.

Awesome review man, appreciate it! @24:52 "color banding" is a good term here. Usually used when describing color bit depth in cameras and displays. The T3 lite is like 8 bit 420 and the T2 pro is like 10 bit 422. Just thought that was a good analogy here and could be a good way to describe in future reviews!

Can't really advise what is best for your TV as It always different for different TV and display output.
I’ll wait it out till the summer. Hopefully in June when I’m ready to purchase the T3 Pro will be released

I prefer the 3 lite way of handling the dark sections of videos but I doubt it does it intentionally. The T2 is way smoother in handling the colours.
I still have the T1 and although I cut it off at the bottom by mistake, it still works great. I might hold on an upgrade for the T3.

I have the T2. Where do you have the relative brightness set in your app? I find if I have it turned down lower, maybe around 30, my blacks stay darker and I don't get that bleed that you were showing in your example. Yes, I liked and subscribed to your channel. Thanks

How u watch tv if there is white color when on tv no color? I hate that ,look on 13:50 on left side white color how to make it black on t2

White is " funny " , kind of very very light ash purple.

I don’t think you can make a proper comparison without having the cameras set up in the same orientation. I have the T3 set up as you have the T2 in your video and it does make a difference. Also, the settings for these allow for a wide variation in results and given that there are fewer LEDs on the T3 the settings between the T2 and T3 will be considerably different to get the same optimum effect.
Also, I believe the response time on the T3 is faster than the T2 which, for me, greatly improves the experience.
Having the significantly larger number of LEDs is perhaps the biggest difference between the two. But as you are probably going to have to turn the brightness way down anyway, as this is supposed to be an ambient backlight, the main visual difference is how even the light spread onto the wall is going to be and that is also a function of the distance and reflectivity of same.
In my experience, getting the settings right is probably the key thing with either of these backlights.

For adjusting the angle that the camera is pointing towards the screen, is there any way to actually see (or know) what the camera is seeing (possibly through the App) or is this pure guesswork? This might be especially important if mounting the camera below the screen and behind or on top of a soundbar. Thanks
Yes the Govee app takes you though the steps and you can see a representation of what the camera can see which helps with the setup.
I have a T1 right now. If I upgrade to the T3, would I be able just switch out the cameras? Or would I need to replace the LEDs entirely?
Thanks for checking out the video. You would need to swap out the LEDs as well. This is due to the newer chipsets on the striplight itself. You could also end up supplying to much power to the older striplights as the power supply for the T1 was much weaker.

Due to the tilting mechanism the T3 can't be placed at the bottom of the screen unless you are able to tilt it in some other way. In regard to the software side using the app, yes you can change the setup to have it run from the bottom. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. super helpful, guess I'll wait for the PRO. I don't need the light bars, I already have them but I'd like T3 with 60 LED. the corners always suffers :\ Do you know if my older light bar model H6054 would work with the T3 Lite (?) it has its own control box though... I don't see why it wouldn't if I can hook it up to Dreamview (it is right now with my wall glides). Did you notice the T3 Lite being faster? they say it's 20-30% faster

I didn't notices any difference in speed if there was it wasn't noticeable to the human eye. All my other Govee kit works so not sure why not the light bars. As soon as the real T3 come out I will be doing a review and comparison so make sure to SUBSCRIBE, LIKE and hit the notification 🔔👍
Before watching your video, I was leaning to get the t2, after seeing it, I actually liked the 3lite on most situations, specially when you have blacks and it completely turns of the leds while on the t2 there's like a constant ambient warm white...
If you haven't bought it already I would suggest waiting for the T3 Pro if you can. I feel it'll be here by summer if you can wait that long 🤔

Have the 3Lite and my LEDs are bright like the T2. Did you adjust the brightness at all in the settings? You also mention flicker on the 3 lite but you have to choose between movie / game. Game will have more flicker.
I was referring to the seperation that is caused by the fewer amount of LEDs

I have a smart tv with built in apps. I dont have any of those deivces like xbox, chromecast, or firestick. Would any of t2 or t3 lite work on my smart tv? I found that many products work only with an hdmi input devices like I mentioned.

Hey thanks. I have both of these and my T2 if the screen is black say at 12:25 the left upper there are no lights on. Even at 13:31 I have no lights off the my left side or left top. I know to much Saturation can sometimes effect this so I keep my around 30someting

Great video. Quick question, that does the T2 do when the TV is turned off? Do the lights turn off?
There is a setting that you can now turn on that once there is no output from the TV for a selected amount of time it will turn off. It will come back on again once there is output.

The t2 dims to almost nothing with an oled tv. LED TV’s transmit light at all times so I would imaging it would make the backlight more noticeable. It does still have some light, just not nearly as noticeable as what I see on your video. Also helps to adjust the saturation down.

Need to turn the relative brightness down. That's how I got my t2 to dim the areas with no color. Also adjust white balance on a completely white screen. Try to get the lights as close to white as possible.

My concern is that my TV is hung on the wall and not sure if T2 could hang on the bottom of the TV as that seems to be the best position to capture the screen better. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
Yeah you may have to put it on the top as you need a stable base to put it at the bottom. Other option is to purchase the Govee sync box instead where you don't need to use the camera. Only downside is that you can only use the signals going into the tv so any application you have built into the tv is not able to take advantage of the Govee lights.

From what I've tried it isn't possible. Im thinking it may work better if you have an OLED panel where the screen is completely black. I don't have one as yet so unable to try. Once I upgrade my TV I will test thos and see if there is a difference. Of so I'll make a video explaining.

Thank U, the Lite3 is just 90 dollar, Im think good for me for Movies. The camera 1080P, 7 way colors( the t 2 have 5 with 720P ), and the most important, the T 2 not like any shine from tables-Windows etc..the lite 3 make one step ahead, but Im sure -as u said in the video the T4 or Just T3 will be the winner in end of 2024.

It seems like the T3 light is actually more color accurate esp w/ the blacks than the T2, but it just doesnt have the light output and camera angle viewing isnt as broad, really hoping they make a flat mount T3 full version

The T2 has actually twice as many LEDs than the 3 Lite (not just a third more).

The say the 3 Lite realizes when the screen gets turned off and will turn off too, then. That would be cool, even if it goes on as soon as the screen ist turned of again?
One annoying thing about the T2 is the need to manually turn it on and off....

Check that your settings are set to ‘Part’. It sounds like maybe you have it set to ‘All’

Great comparison mate. I've just got the t2. 65inch but the led strips are almost 5inches short from the corners which is a shame. It is great.
How far out is the lens part of the camera at the bottom from the screen? I've just mounted the soundbar under the tv and the camera is a tight fit with the weighted end being the size it is. But it looks like yours is out almost fully?

The only thing that sold me on the 3 lite from this is that I like watching movies in the dark and I think the T2 showing bright light when the screen is dark would bug me. Vs the 3 lite it’s more just enhancing the experience without being overpowering. Also I like how the 3 lite shows a smoother gradient where I feel the T2 is a bit more dramatic. Almost like orbs of light vs the 3 lite’s aura-esque glow lol. But some might like the T2 better and that’s fine

Hello i have a 98 inch TV and just bought a Govee T2 envisual for 75-85 inch tv, Govee T2 envisual 98- 100 inch is not yet available in europe. Can i perhaps sync a 6 meter Govee M1 RGBIC led strip with the T2, remove the led strip that came along with the T2, cause i cannot install it on the edges and install M1 instead? after syncing? will you think this will work?
No that definitely won't work. Each LED is controlled by the controller. It knows the amount of LEDs there should be and the location of each one. If you change this it will most likely error out and not turn on. Hope that helps 👍

@@fluxautomate Thanks for the quick answer i' ll just remove the led for the T2, i will not use the T2 controller for the M1... i will use M1's own controller. i just use the T2 controller to controll the camera and use dreamview to sync the M1 to T2 possible?
@@aristotlemejia7541 I don't think that will work. Be careful switching out controllers and power supplies.
Positioning the camera UNDER the TV makes more sense than having a distraction above the screen. HOWEVER, wouldn't the cameras be reversed, meaning the system is displaying left-side colours behind the right-side of the screen? I'm hoping for a workaround on how I might resolve this possible issue, please.

T2 is for 55in tvs how you fit it on a smaller monitor 🙏need help for my 32 inch neo g8

Watching the comparison made the Lite look awfully dim. I’m worried cuz I had already purchased the lite I hope I’m not disappointed coming from the T1. Would you say the lite is better than the T1?

I think in the near future, govee will come out with a "box" and have 5 or 6 HDMI connections. And hope a living room Thame, with multiple lights ie the bar lights and backlites. It should be about what you think 500$ CAD
That do have a HDMI style box. I've not record this yet but may do a comparison once the T3 Pro come to market.
I have the 3 lite. A friend of mine has the T2. Overall, the T2 is better. I went from my 3 lite, over to his house and put his t2 on. I could tell instantly.

Maybe I missed you saying it, but why wouldn't you place both cameras in the same spot for the best head to head comparison?
They there, It was also to the the capability for being able to put the T2 at the bottom of the screen. Overall it shouldn't matter where the camera is located as it's picking up the same colours from the screen.

For me is not posible to compare it as soon as I have seen that T2 has no dark mode for blacks. For me is esencial to have good blacks and no lights.

Ahh! Disappointing to see it's much worse :(. I have one of the first camera models and guess I'll upgrade to the T2.

Govee need an all round sync box. I wanted the T3 but want more light that you get with the T2......comon Govee, hurry up and release a straight T3 Pro.

I was disappointed to discover this latest Govee 3 version still needs external cameras to operate. I think Bias lighting e technology will continue to move towards systems like "Fancy LEDs Fancy Sync Box Ambient TV Backlighting Syncing Box HDMI 2.0" which uses "no" cameras and instead uses a HDMI signal for the sync source. Working with a HDMI signal they provide a smoother / quicker response time. That said... Fancy has three downsides 1) the slightly higher price tag 2) Fancy LEDs only works with consoles like PS5 , XBox, and or an external Firestick... etc... but does not work with any of the "built-in" the apps that are included on smart TV's. 3) It only has one HDMI signal connection point so if you have more that one gaming source you're out of luck.
Hopefully they make something that is a combination of the two someday 🤞🏾

white sucks, white on tv should just be displayed as black
Your T2 settings are totally off. Mine looks miles better than what's shown here. Make sure you have your brightness at 99%, relative brightness should be Mac at 49% even though I have it at 20%. Saturation goes to 1% on OLED.

Hi man hope you are well I also have t2 t3 lite and Nanoleaf 4D and i couldn’t disagree more you have not calibrated well your cameras is impossible that you recommend the t2 next to the t3 since the t3 is so much more accurate when we talk about colours and also to represent a dark screen… I leave you my settings so you can try them out because I have to say you are missing the point :) Govee T3 Lite Setup / Settings - Tutorial under 5 min.

@@fluxautomate Will there be a review for Govee AI Gaming Sync Box Kit ? There is support for HDR10+, 4K, 240Hz @1080P. Connection via HDMI (3 pcs.). Light strip must be purchased separately. Perhaps it is better for TV than T2, 3 lite ?
I feel that Govee will be bringing an update to the AI Gaming Sync box some time soon so i'm going to hold out until that and the T3 Pro are released and then do a head to head between them.
Terrible comparison mate, every review on these verses the t2 out there has the 3 bettering it in just about every way. You must have your settings all wrong on the 3 lite and your brightness isn’t set properly. I just installed a 3 lite on my 77” S95C coming from the t2 and it is absolutely a better product.

He did a great job relaying his opinion and illustrating/explaining why he felt the way he did about each product. Incidentally, every review I've seen/read has had the T2 bettering the 3 Lite.

I did what surround sound does into LIGHTNING
I recommend the brightness 3 of HIGH colors of T2 pro on daytime TV. The timing is not an issue. I have a 65"tv 9" off the wall (all wall glows day time) , 2 tall lyra lamps on my sides, & 2 Govee Smart Light Bulbs on back ceiling corners FULL ROOM Immersion on games & movies.
