  • I recently purchased myself a pair of Govee M1 Led Light Strips - Are they as good as the price suggests? In this video I am going to replace my old Govee Light Strips with their much sexier and improved Govee M1 Light Strip.
    This video is not sponsored in any way and I am in no way endorsed by Govee or have any affiliation with them.

    I have a 22ft awning on my motorhome and I just bought 2 sets of m1's off Amazon for $50 off and a day later the sales already over. I'm going to do a video of setting it up. Can't wait.

    Excellent contrast on the dark border + light reflections! Great video! I also have my M1 cases waiting to be setup, but still gathering ideas on a final design.

    i have 1 m1 going around my room ceiling (squared enclosed room) it makes it look like your in a department store with the way its bright but not uncomfortable way. it lights up entire room compared to a solo ceiling lamp. i have it paired with my t1 backlight.

    Quick question... at the 6:02 mark in your video, the lights went from dark and then did a bit of a chase that quickly lite up the entire strip with white color.
    Is there a feature that would allow me to go from completely off to when I turn on the lights they would do that type of feature? Basically the light starts at one end of the strip the chases or "fills" the entire strip?
    Great video btw sir! Thank you!!

      Apologies for the long time to reply, I stopped getting notifications a while ago.
      I'm not sure to be totally honest. There's so many options in the app and they also have their community ones where users design their own styles so there's probably something close to it at least, but without going through every single one I couldn't give you a definite answer I'm afraid. 👍🏻

    The only thing that would make me buy the M1 would be the ability to control every LED individually. Govee's lights are usually grouped in threes. They're not bad though.

    • @GamingGadgetsTech
      @GamingGadgetsTech  Год назад +1

      I think for that level of customisation you really need to be looking at WLED..Just don't think a 'plig and play' product will ever give us this level of customisation 😔

    Anyone else having problems with the M1 lights? they seem to break easy when going corners.., even if you do it how it says on the manual, any way around this? how did you set yours up??

    I was wondering the black border you have the led strips under is this just wood panels slightly raised from the wall?

    • @GamingGadgetsTech
      @GamingGadgetsTech  Год назад +2

      Exactly what it is. I jut picked up some cheap 90 degree wood from a hardware store and painted it a dark grey just to hide the strips. Just glued to the wall using some construction adhesive. Hope this helps 👍

    I know it says you can't cut them, however if you run the length test after cutting will it work correctly or will it think it's longer than it is?

    • @GamingGadgetsTech
      @GamingGadgetsTech  Год назад

      I'm pretty sure they can be cut at specified points along the strip, once the test is run it should recalibrate the amount of LED's on the strip. I'd check the manual before any cutting though just to be sure.

    I really liked the video.
    I currently have the Neon Led strip but I was thinking of buying the M1 put it in a diffuser.
    But I would like to know how you put the two strips together?

    • @GamingGadgetsTech
      @GamingGadgetsTech  Год назад +1

      The strips come with a male and female connector on either end. If you are just using one strip the male pins would connect to the power lead. When connecting two together you can connect the second strip at the end of the first using this method. If you go to 1:38 in the video, you'll see the connectors being joined. Hope this helps 👍🏻

    • @GamingGadgetsTech
      @GamingGadgetsTech  Год назад

      I actually don't use any diffusion on mine as they're behind the wood panel frame on the wall and reflect off of the 3d panels. Sorry I can't be of more help.

    Hey GGT, is that the Ikea Trotten 63""x31" tabletop? I'm trying do decide between the 63"x31" Trotten (which is solid particle board) or the 63"x31" Lagkapten tabletop (which is hollow honycomb paper..yikes). I notice the bend in yours; is why I ask.
    Unlike you, I'll have TWO Alex drawers on each ends with a my pc on top and a 34 ultrawide & monitor stand (plus various other smaller stuff). I don't wanna add a support leg in center rear like you have because apparently you still get a bend even with the center leg. I'll probably add a Heavy Duty 20" wall mounted shelf bracket instead. Just can't decide which table will be stronger for my monitor stand and 34" ultrawide :(
    cool art3d panel wall btw....jealous af!

    Though this is a small improvement I'd rather stick with philips hue. Transition are far smoother and more reliable lighting system than govee. I started out with govee lighting and upgraded to philips hue.

    • @GamingGadgetsTech
      @GamingGadgetsTech  Год назад

      Yeah it's a fair point. It's just the cost to create a 10m strip using Hue you're getting into the realms of £600 or over $700 for 10m worth of strip at current prices. I guess it's a balance between quality and affordability for most people

    • @shaye2k
      @shaye2k Год назад +2

      Hue doesn’t have a 60 led per meter strip though?

    • @NeilAFawcett
      @NeilAFawcett Год назад

      How do you do transitions (easily) with hue? How do you do it to ambient music with hue? And hue is far far more expensive.
