Just got this video as a suggestion, Awesome detailed Instructions and Clean Install 👍👍 Appreciated you using proper lights etc to make the process look clear as a glass. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Great job on this video brother. I just bought these lights on an special amazon deal so I'll be getting the diffusers on your link. I appreciate the thorough summary and explanations
Thank you for this video. Great tips! I just ordered a few sets of the diffusers since Amazon is have a sale currently. New subscriber here.. again you look hella familiar to me~
Awesome! Glad I could help! Thanks for subscribing and let me know if you have any questions.. or figure out how you know me! Hah P.S. I was the head bartender at a few clubs in downtown Des Moines for almost 20 years. That could be it.
Great video and great detail on every step. In my man cave i have multiple govee lights...i cant get enough of them. I even put up the outside bulb strands around my privacy fence in the backyard on a timer....they work so good and they light up the whole backyard. Even my neighbor said she loved them when shes walking from her detached garage to her house that she feels safer. Im so interested in the new outdoor house lights...there so beautiful, but i dont think the wife will go for it. There a little pricey but for what you get its not bad at all. Plus you have light's for every holiday and the rest of the year just use a few as like spot lights... Now can you make a video on how to get them wife approved? 😂😂
Govee now has " RGBIC LED Strip Lights with Covers" so perhaps those are better than doing it like you did, however, I had to comment because I used this video last year to run my old house. You will love how well their covers diffuse the lights.
Yea I actually have some I bought recently! I haven't put them up yet but they look like something I can dig! Ha.. I'm still gonna do a video with the m1s and the V channel Muzata diffusers. Just bc they're meant for corners and a bit bigger to fit the in the corners. Otherwise, I will try these out soon and prolly post it! Thanks for the post and the continued support my man Rodney..
@@threadchemistry I bought this new house and my office has 0 daylight because it's in a finished basement. Since that's the case, I have UV and Govee lights to help simulate daylight (why I chose this room? it's 12.5x12.5 and the upstairs all have rooms smaller than 12ft and my desk is custom that runs near 10ft wide[[which utilizes a govee neon rope light 2]] ) Oh, and to complete the look, if you haven't already, add a strip under a couch (if it's a sectional, even better!) My entertainment center has lights behind the TV and under the couch--govee of course. I have so many govee products but not the new hex lights--too chunky of a price to purchase!
Ya I have 2 sets of the hex. 1 is up. I don't really care for them. Ya I have lights under the couch. I have lights in places I didn't know existed before i started. Haha Sounds like a nice office you have.
Hi from Argentina, im about to buy the govee rgbic pro and I know im not gonna use the complete lenght , but I was hoping to use again the pieces I cut... i have other govee transformers from older rgb leds wich are not so nice from govee, not rgbic ..will those be usefull on this case?
Hey Barbie.. well, unfortunately, any Govee LED strips that are RGBIC CANNOT be cut. Only the RGB LEDs.. which really sucks bc I love the RGBIC lights, but they nearly have to fit your area where you want them perfectly. Sorry about the bad news. Did that answer your question?
How did you get each strip to turn on and off at the same time? I saw that you have separate plugs for each one. This makes me think you have to turn them on and off separately
A super easy way to check is to look at the back. Every so often you should see a little scissors symbol ✂️ if it's OK to cut. If you don't see that symbol then you cannot cut it. Even if you can cut it remember you cannot use what you cut off ever again.
@@threadchemistry but your video said that you can cut where you see copper on the back. Unfortunately, my strips do not show scissor marks. But again, you said that that’s not a problem if you see copper on the back, that’s where you can cut. Please clarify.
We could add a motion sensor fairly easy.. all you need to do is buy a motion sensor (obviously. Ha) get it set up, then set up a routine in the Alexa app to turn on when motion and turn off after a set amount of time.
Brightness, seamless color change, LED per meter, many reasons... Not saying you couldn't use a cheaper version but anyone can see a difference. Especially people with a trained eye. Plus I'm a huge fan of Govee. Having all Govee in my house makes for easy organization on my phone and in Alexa/Google/HA. Also, it's easier and more likely to run routines with all the lights at once so they can all work together.
@@threadchemistry i appreciate your prompt response 🙏. Another question, what's the difference between these and the rope lights. Why don't ppl purchase more of the neon rope lights?. I feel they are easier and pliable to use. What's your take on them. I noticed govee also has the rope lights as well.
Rope lights don't give you all the independent colors and options plus they're kinda bulky. They aren't very long. I bought 2 govee ropes and returned them bc I couldn't find a good place for them that would be better than LEDs. If I remember right, they're more expensive per foot also..
LMFAO. All that work.. It really wasn't bad at all. Honestly took longer to film and edit the video than to do the actual job honestly. Are you my northern neighbor up in MN being a twins fan? I'm right below you in Iowa..
Hmmm why do you look super familiar to me? Do you live in Midwest? What’s your name? Sorry to be personal on here but I’m pretty sure I know you.. small world~ my name is Sunshine from NJ but been in Arizona most my life
Haha. You just have to Google the business and all that will pop up, but yes I'm in West Des Moines, Iowa. My name is Ryan. I get that all the time. Prolly just a familiar face.
I think your dog was really excited about the new lights coming!🥰
Of course. He's a smart home enthusiast. Haha
That is soooo cool. I'm definitely going to do this!!
You'll be happy you did!! If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask!!
Really adds something to the home!!
My property value just doubled!!!! 😁😅🤣
Great work with the power cord concealment.
Thank you very much!
Thanks for sharing bro 🏆 💯 looks amazing ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Thanks man. Appreciate it!
Govee are my go to right now for lighting Fantastic app features and bright colourful lighting
Absolutely. I just got a notification to watch one of your videos actually 2 days ago. Crazy! I'm a big fan of govee also..
App could use some UI improvements.
It's certainly seems they haven't done much besides esthetics.
@@threadchemistry love the Chanel with the how to install. Can you use motion sensors to trigger the lights? If so what’s a good brand? Thanks
Govee just came out with some so if u have govee lights, I would look into their new motion sensors.
Just got this video as a suggestion,

You are the Smart Home guru 🥰
Thqnk you! But It's very simple to do actually!! Just follow the video steps!! ))
Awesome work man 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you sir!
Great explanation of everything! I was hooked the whole video haha Looks good! I’m doing same set up but at the top of the wall with the diffusers.
Haah. Thanks a lot! I appreciate that. What do you mean at the top of the wall? Where the ceiling and wall meet, you mean?
@@threadchemistry yeah they probably mean along the edges of the ceiling. That’s what I’m using your video for! Thanks for uploading this
Great idea. I hope it all works out for you! Thanks man.
Until I actually watched this video, totally thought “diffuser” was some kind of air freshener thing 😂😂😂 so glad I watched the video!! 🤦🏻♀️ Geesh
Bahahah! That's comedy... Thanks so much Ann!

@@threadchemistry I will definitely check that out. Thanks again!
Thank you. Have a great day.
Thank you so much bro, you explained very well 😊

Sounds like a nice office you have.
You can group both of the strips together in the app and make them do the same things at the same time without having to pick the device
Ta I didn't even think of it while I was recording. I did immediately after. Haha. Thanks though.
Is there anyway you could sync them together so you do not have to operate them individually, but instead as one unit?
Dogs you see the other message?
Ace Ventura. Like a glove
Good catch! Great movie. Hahah.

A great job🎉 just one thing you can sync both the lights so you dont have to change the animation separately
Ya I figured that all out after I had already uploaded the video. Thanks though.. ))
Ooo that's great
No problem my friend just keep on making videos like this . I hope govee starts shipping to india so i can also try .
I have a few more govee vidoes coming up.. I'm sorry to hear that. That's bs
How did you get each strip to turn on and off at the same time? I saw that you have separate plugs for each one. This makes me think you have to turn them on and off separately
You just have to sync them in the Govee app
I have the Govee RGBIC (NOT PRO). Can I cut those without causing problems and limiting any of the features?

As long as you'd like.

We could add a motion sensor fairly easy.. all you need to do is buy a motion sensor (obviously. Ha) get it set up, then set up a routine in the Alexa app to turn on when motion and turn off after a set amount of time.
How many leds per meter does it gave?
Not 100%
Why didn't you use regular led light strips instead of the govee strip. Whats the difference?
Brightness, seamless color change, LED per meter, many reasons... Not saying you couldn't use a cheaper version but anyone can see a difference. Especially people with a trained eye.
