An SV for a 100k ten years ago? That would have been the most profitable garden ornament in history! These days the cheaper ones are around a million and a good SV might be more than 2 million...
Ctrl952 To be fair, probably the price went crazy after top gear featured it, its only made 761 units anyway, and its 43 years passed already since the last one rolled out from the factory, how many you'll find the great condition one ?
Garry Chen That is not why the price increased at all. Just because it was on a car show......come on dude it IS the first supercar, that's why it went up in price.
+Ctrl952 Same thing with the McLaren F1. It went up in value a few years after it was produced and... Best investment a man could ever make.
Money inflation and deflation
Ctrl952 British pounds
I swear Jeremy has called hundreds of cars "the best looking car ever built" over the years
people need to stop trying to make better looking cars then
He is a beast of hyperbole.
They probably all are the most beautiful when they are standing right in front of you, emotions are almost never logical.
Yes
no , defenitly not hundreds... only 3 times
25% of the comments: 100k for a Miura?
The other 75%: IT'S MIURA NOT MUIRA!
Starting 5:04 that moment where Jay Kay talks about how a lot of the owners of these cars never actually go out with them so kids and people never get to experience these cars, that's the heart of a man who loves cars and driving. You want people to see these things, yea part of it is showing off sure, but cars are meant to be driven. I drive a crummy little Nissan sedan every day, but any time a proper supercar drives by or anything cool unique - it brightens up my drive, it's a great feeling: to know that these aren't just dream cars, they're real.

+An Introduction To Eastern Europe, European Funk & Grooves, I never knew who performed Once around the block. I always thought is was some obscure jamiroquai tune. I've been searching for this tune for years. Thank you
+bigbeebrian Glad to help Brian!
i was delighted to see someone posted all the songs from this video.....until I notice they didn't actually. whats the song at 4:33??
this was a brilliant investment! 100k in 2009, they are selling for 2 Million in 2016
this video is from 2003. in 2009 they were fetching $600k easily, SV versions were near a million.
Completely original in every way sell for that :)
Vitor Morais it was 100k in 2004 fool, thats when this aired on tv
About 3 or 4 million for a good sv now
Why don't I believe that???? LOL ur lucky if it sells for HALF a million.
7 years later and the title is still wrong...
make it 10 years
Duarte Pires Make it 31
@@TinyBearTim read it again
make it 10 years by now, as good as Top Gear and BBC are, they are still media giants who only care about one thing - $$$ and nothing else. they never check comments, they never communicate with fans, it's just one sided $$$$$ making machine.
Same old same old....
You know they did a good job when it still looks beautiful and fresh 50 years later
I'm from Modena, Italy.
Yesterday, in the evening, I was driving alongside the Lamborghini factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese.
What an emotion to see this beatiful gigantic bull still untamed.
100,000£.... youd be lucky to get one for half a mil now
Zayan Khan M8 they goes for several mil
I seen one go for $4,000,000
3 mil starting price now
..in 2018
As time goes on the working ones will get more and more expensive.
They cost around a of a million dollars not several million that's ridiculous
No one...and I mean *no one*...will surpass the genuine passion and chemistry of Jeremy, James, and Richard. Period.

I always thought the first looked nice. But that Miura SV is absolutely beautiful, completely stunning
"as a car it was flawed, but as a concept, it truly was a masterpiece" you can say the same thing about everything else lol "it sounded/ looked better in my head"

I fell in love for the first time in 1968 when I SAW a Lamborghini Miura *on the road* in my home town. Beautiful, beautiful car. I have always loved them and #1 on my bucket list is to drive one. (I'd even give you money!)
I smiled so many times watching this. The Miura is truly the perfect blend of nostalgia and performance. An absolute masterpiece of a car.
one of my 3 favorite cars 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California (red/tan interior), 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL (silver/red interior), and the 1968 Lamborghini P400 (dark blue/white interior)
Eagle speedster is the best car ever even it costs 500,000
Wait. Isn't it called *Miura* not Muira?
+le' nikt they could change it after you know, 7 years only.
Richard Hammond said it well. It is the Miura, not Muira.
The first! The daddy! The Miura...
Fire the idiot that wrote the title!
Jourdan Phillip It is the Lamborghini Miura.

Probably my favorite supercar I've even seen in person was a Muira. I saw the SV Jota version, the most rare (I think). It was a beautiful olive-like green with a gold underbody and gold wheels. It was the most stunning car I have ever seen to this day. AND It was for sale!!!
miura!!!!!
"You buy a Ferrari when you want to be somebody. You buy a Lamborghini when you are somebody"
- Frank Sinatra
Well, back then Lamborghini was a truly exotic brand most people had never heard of. If you bought one it proved you knew the cars you had *read about* (unlike stupid kids today who see cars every day on the net) and was showing you had "taste". Ferrari was already well known at that time and were "a dime a dozen" among the rich.
It's fair to say Sinatra meant that Ferrari's were basically bought by posers (in a way they still are) whereas Lamborghini was the car connoisseur's choice. Like somebody who knew the rare and special wines or could name dishes prepared by a top chef at a 5-star restaurant or somebody who recognized the works of great Renaissance painters.
Sinatra had a point because only only 275 Miuras were built in their original configuration. 275 built over 3 years is roughly 90 each year. Needless to say you had to be somebody to get your hands on one. Today Lamborghini sell roughly 4000 cars every year so they are still rare but nowhere near as rare and exclusive they were in the 1960's.
@@paulallen8109 this is far too extensive a comment to be written about one sentence said by a mafia-involved drug mule posing as a singer and Hollywood actor

Soooo I just rewatched this and I'm currently 22. I feel personally attacked by a hamster....
I think the Miura is the most beautiful Lamborghini ever made, and I wished they would bring that exact body style back with major improvements today...
The design and engine sound from that classic V12 can make you forgive any flaws.
Without question, one of the best looking production supercars of all time.
My top 3
1.Lancia Stratos
2.Jaguar E-Type(1st gen)
3.Ferrari 365 Daytona
You have good taste my man.
My top 5 would be..
1. Ferrari 250 GTO
2. Jaguar Eagle Speedster
3. Porsche 911 by Singer
4. Ford Mustang 1969
5. Lamborghini Miura
I guess I'm just old, but for me, the top three would be:
1. 1954 Jaguar XK140 Roadster
2. 1961 Jaguar E-Type Coupe
3. 1963 Aston Martin DB5
...and if we go to five:
4. 1954 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing
5. 1970 Lamborghini Miura
A man of culture I see. Stratos tops the list for me as well.
In no particular order.
- Lamborghini Miura
- E-Type Jaguar
- Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
incidentally, Jeremy does have a lightning jet fighter on his front yard. :D
YES to the guy who said TVR! The Speed Six is damn beautiful.
The Griffith 500 is a car I still gush over since I played Gran Turismo 3.
Aston DB-7 in the same category of style as the Miura and GT40? Decent looking car, but absolutely not.
+Mista Butterworth GT40 decent looking and look what it did to ferrari......absolutely...yes...
+stephen crider yep...pure British engineering in the gt40
USEDWAT? Pure British, except for the matter of that dependable, kick-ass American V8 riding back there... Ian Findlay You're crazy, the GT40 is universally regarded as a great looking race car, but to each his own.
+Mista Butterworth Sorry, but I could not find my post that supposedly criticized the GT40. Please tell me what I wrote.
+Mista Butterworth Thank you. I now recall having been abducted by aliens and threatened with the "probe" unless I wrote that. Obviously an out of body experience.
Clarkson's crowd work is a treat lol. Love it
I'm not a petrol head & can't drive anyway but I do love cars, I only saw the Lambo Miura poster in shops but then I saw the scenes of The Italian Job with Rosanno Brazzi driving this absolutely gorgeous piece of art along the mountain roads with Matt Monroe in the background, it totally took my breath away and it still does everything I watch the film.
This is one the best Videos from Top Gear ever.
The Miura is my favourite car ever.
Luv and Peace.
"...and only Harold Wilson on LSD could cause more stir"
damn, you gotta love Brits 😂
I'm crying, A Muria SV for a £100,000 in 2003-4. They're over a million today!
One of my favourite lambo.....
5:40 I didn't get it, what did he do to the windows?
I have no idea how many times I have watched this.. This is a great film with great people of a great car.
What about the Ferrari 246 Dino ? That thing was a beauty..
Which one?
Tommy Orr Jr The 246
The Shawoosh Gorgeous Car. For a 6 cylinder!
Going thru a divorce (my fault), being locked up for a while (where divorce papers came to me), oh, and drawing cars!!! No, really, One day.... my life's story, but, I digress. Miura!
250 California was fantastic to look at.
4:52 Richard Hammond sitting with future Richard Hammond
I like the eyelash look around headlights of the original more
Yup. I have no idea why they got rid of them on the SV. I will ask Dallara.
KingSnowman propably aerodynamics
Because its a car not a person and cars really don't need ...... Wow this is just so ridiculous to even type..... Eyelashes, ugly
Nite Hound It is not like those eyelash things on ebay.
looks more like a heatsink.
Speaking of what is not needed.
We dont need V12s in this day and age, but they are still made
Why?
People like them.
You got a good point I was expressing my opinion tho;)
That car is SO beautiful. I had an opportunity to buy one once and didn't and now no one wants to sell theirs.
Any car review that plays 'Once Around The Block' over it has me sold.
Shelby A/C Cobra
Ford GT40
Lamborghini Miura SV
Ferrari F40
aldo falla Jaguar E-Type added to that list. I'm not British, I just think the E-Type is stunning.
Robert Robertson thats your opinion
I'd say Alfa Romeo Type 33 Stradale
Porsche 911 carerra
Jeremy Clarkson standing next to it makes it look like a toy car.

Lovely thing that Miura, not just a car, a sublime work of art. I feel very enriched just by looking at this damn beautiful thing!

One of the best looking cars ever made is the Lancia stratos.

That is false.
Did they just say a hundred thousand for a Miura?

Dude, these things were like 8000 to 10000 dollars back in the late 70's.
iSkully99 supercars sure were cheap back then.
One went for $3 million recently. Prices went up fast
Redstoneprime and salaries lower. It would probably still be easier to own a new supercar then than a new one now though
Thanks Hammond, best looking thing made by man.
When I was 22 years of age I was driving a 1976 Triumph TR7 in Germany while serving my country in the U.S. Air Force. It was fun to drive on the back roads but the autobahn it would max out at around 110 mph. I still enjoyed the car immensely despite always having to work on it and replacing the starter solenoid every 6 months at $100.00 a pop..

3 best looking cars ever: Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, Ferrari 250 GTO, Aston Martin DB5, not necessarily in that order.
Funny, I wanted to write the exact same list! I also love the GT 40, the Stingray Corvette, the Maserati Bora and others, including the Miura, but these three are just perfection! By the way i hesitate to include recent cars because I think LED lighting made it so much easier to design cars.
My fav is still the miura
Jaguar e type, Miura and the Aston for me
Am i wrong or you can hear the transmission whine at 0:27?
Mention Jamiroqai all you want, Jay Kay will forever be remembered as an occasional guest on Top Gear. How the Hell was he even getting gues slots on TV shows, just cus he was in a band that nobody even heard of at the peak of their...success? way back when the had those two songs some people might still have remembered when this episode aired.
Stiamo parlando di una delle auto più belle del mondo!! 😍
My 3:
-DB4
-300SL
-F40
the most beautiful car in history
Hmmmm... not sure about that. But ... damn. It had better be in the contest! Beautiful. Let’s have a contest!
Stunning. Better looking than modern cars.
Some of my favorites are:
Lambo Miura
Lambo Diablo VT
Corvette C2
Dodge Viper (the old one)
Ferrari Enzo
Porsche Carrera GT
Porsche 911 (the first one)
VW Beetle (old one)
VW Golf 4
Mercedes 300SL
Honda NSX
Sauber C9

The most beautiful car is either, the Miura or the Ferrari Dino
*coughs in Jaguar E-type*

Aston Martin DB5 just waved..
I would say one of the best looking cars ever is the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTS/Daytona 4. Others would include the '74 Lancia Stratos, the '56 Chevy Bel Air no post, the '63 Split Window Corvette, the '73 Nissan 2000 GT-R Kenmeri, and (believe it or not) the '75 Bricklin SV-1.
The Mercedes-Benz W 198 was also a great gig in the motorsport heaven and so was the Jaguar E-type, the Miura not soo much, imho.
Jaguar E-Type has to be competing for best looking car ever
The 300 SL GULLWING as well in my opinion
This my favorite car: the *muira*

Socrates Nicolaou Yea lol, the db7 looks like a chrysler
This one? 😂😂😂😂

No, DB5: THE James Bond car.
-Jaguar E-type
-Alpina B7-Turbo
And the Alfa Romeo Giulia, those must be the most beautiful cars ever made by man. I agree on the Spitfire tho’
The roaring twin-supercharger V12 sound of victory!!!
Couldn’t agree more it is the best looking car in the world and that’s coming from a person who is 15 years old
Muira and Ford GT40... uncanny resemblence..
Right!! lol
lol, I did the same!! click bait 2, the sequel....
not that much, Lamborghini may have styled it a bit similar to the GT40 but at a certain point all cars in the same class begin to look similar
Clickbait 2, electric boogaloo.
Watch “Davide Cironi Drive Experience” if you want to delve more into these incredible cars and how they came about.
Muira?!?! Jeeeez, it's MIURA!
5 cars that marked my childhood for its incredible lines and that made me fall in love with the car design for life :Jaguar E ; Ferrari Daytona , Lambroghini Miura ; Chevrolet Corvette stingray C3 .All this is very debatable; ObviouslyI have thousands of other lines of cars in mind but these 5 have something sexy in the mental reading that we make of their lines that I can not describe.
I don't know who's more lucky? Richard Hammond for not crashing 'round a corner OR Lamborghini getting their Miura back in one piece.
ITS NOT MUIRA, ITS MIURA. I DON'T KNOW ANY "MUIRA" >.
How about Moira? An Irish replica maybe? 🤔😀😀😀
A stunning but flawed car. It's nice to see Jay Kay using his as intended. It's a shame that these have now become so valuable and that so few will ever get the opportunity to experience one.
Dear Top Gear, this car is called MIURA, not MUIRA! Shame! And this is repeated two times, in the title, and in the description... greetings from Italy...
The fuel tank over the front wheels is actually genius!
Not only does the the car get faster as the tank empties, so your lap times improve over time and you win Le Mans, but if you can feel how much fuel is in the tank there is no need for a fuel gauge and all that silly wiring. Rip it all out and you save weight. Faster car!
At the expense of understeering and or crashing every corner cause of so little contact patch on the front wheels
9:00 Wot? No E-Type?
And the best looking car of all, the jaguar e type

100,000 - hahah Now worth almost a Million!
More like 2.5 million.
Depends which one, and what Currency, in Australia it is like $3million o.O
Jimmy Nahlous Why did you say a million then?
Because they sell around 1 million pounds for the cheapest model
Jimmy Nahlous I suppose, but the pound has also dropped a lot in value as well. I am from a USD perspective.
The original Ford GT40 look great but the Ford GT from 2006 looks okay. I mean the Muira, DB5, 8C, GT40, E-Type, Hyuara, Spyker C8, the BMW 507, i8, Weismann roadster, Atlantic 57, the Gullwing (300SL), Ferrari 275 GTB, & some others are some of the most beautiful cars imo.
I like how Jay Kay was on about how people who buy those cars tend to just keep them hidden away onstead of driving them like they were made for, and then James and Richard say they'd put one in the garden instead of driving it.
