Beautiful piece of artwork! I'm sure you know but the DP90LV is a black sealer. Been using it for a while along with the VC5700. I tried the 2021 and wasn't too sold on it. Yes, the 5700 sprays and buffs great. I know you dont flow coat so I was curious many coats of the 5700 you sprayed back to back. I'm usually doing 4 and it's definitely enough to bury stripes. I always use the slowest activator and reducer. Seems to help curb any solvent pop issues in the humid summer months.
Love your vids - very informative. I’m a rank amateur dong a couple cars now using the 2050, which I love - is there a significant disadvantage to top coating directly over the 2050? Thanks and keep the great content coming
What is available in the PPG line as far as single stage? I have vp 2050 down as my base. I want a good quality. My local autopaint supplier has shine, nut from my understanding thats a budget paint. Cheets John
Are you using guide coat when blocking the clear on your "Ridler quality" jobs or just keeping a keen eye for scratches? Also, thanks for sharing your knowledge with us in all these vids.
I haven’t tried the rupes compound how ever the 3 m compound you’re using use to be my go to until I discovered menzerna…..Both are good though ..Again I haven’t tried the rupes
personally I think. Filler, spray fill, Primer surfacer then paint. never trusted Primer surfacer. always have seen it shrink after paint. primer surface is for sand scratches only IMO.
thank you - explaining how you'd make this finish better, and the impact of the DA, is really useful info.

Why the sealer over the VP2050? Was the sealer black?
Do you use a foam transition pad on the da when you are sanding the clear?
What's a good brand of clear
What's the mix for the sealer before painting
I do 2:1:1 and overreduce 10-15%
How much$ can u charge for job of that caliper ?
$30K.
👍✌️❤️

Why does everyone do flocoat then?
I can't seem to watch an entire episode, this guy babbles too much. That monotone voice doesn't help.
Go buy some Eastwood then.
