Oh my goodness. reminds me of my mother's cooking. We are from Chicago but we live in Arizona. She grew up in a house with parents and grandparents who were all from the south. There is nothing better than eating home- down home food. All scratch, no box junk and definately no micro-wave.
I lived in Africa for many, many years. In fact, I was born there and even though I am white, I loved the soul food of the African people and turkey necks were one of my most favourite foods ever, growing up. The MOST unfortunate thing is, since I moved to the UK, it is so very, very difficult to find chicken or turkey necks, gizzards, hearts and livers. They just don't sell them here. BUT, I just happened to come across a delightful gentleman who runs a Muslim halal shop very close to me and he has been a lifeline in supplying me with those ingredients. He can't supply me with bulk but that's ok. He gives me what he can and I am so thankful to create even small dishes with what he can supply :)
While I was searching for a recipe I thought to myself that if the lady didn’t look like my aunty or grandma I was going to follow the recipe and your recipe looks exactly how I remember my grandmother making it.
absolutely enjoy your vids...you are truly a bleesn to those who can't cook....now instead of going over mama'nems hse 2 eat they watch yo vids they can cook and invite their parents over....lmbo!♥♥♥♥...

I love your presentation, I love your cooking, I've found people in some southern states can really, really cook. I wish someone would do a research on which Southern State cooks the best.
I certainly have my picks.
Thank you for sharing all your great recipes. Keep up the great work. God bless you.
Chris, are those frozen Lima beans you are using? I ask this only because this afternoon I went grocery shopping at Walmart and I could not find the Lima beans that you are using in your tutorial. I was in the Ethnic/Goya aisle and they only had dried beans. Also I found a leftover Ham bone in my deep freezer and I would like to know; If I should follow your Northern Beans tutorial if I want to cook Lima beans in my Crockpot?
Gersen Yes you can use that recipe. I got my Lima beans in the freezer section at Walmart. Maybe they were sold out when you went.
chriscook4u2 I did go to the freezer section, but I didn't think to look for the Lima beans
Gersen that's where they are sold in vegetable freezer section.
Thank you! I enjoy watching you cook and learning from you.

Chris you need to get a instant pot then it would shorten your time cooking. The neck bones would only take 30 min.
I am so glad that I just stumbled across your channel I love love love it and you are sweetheart and such a great teacher
You are a master Of cooking Southern and describing how you do it Mrs Chris
I grew up eatin this. Making it as we speak, can’t wait to be off work and hammer down on some good eating tomorrow
Mrs.Chris i love your videos , but please tell me how is it if you dont have sugar (diabetes). with using sugar in alot of your recipes. Can you do something for us folks that have sugar. My nana when ahe was alive cooked this way. With love and care soulful cooking.
Soupy Searles Just because the disease has been nicknamed "sugar" diabetes it is not caused by eating to much sugar. That is a myth.
Type 1 diabetic---born with it
Type 2 diabetic--is commonly gene related and caused by your pancreas not being able to effectively function. The sugars we eat causes us to gain weight and in some cases the weight we gain, lack of exercise and poor body functions causes the disease.
My recipes is a guideline. Take out what you don't want, like or need and do the same with adding to it. This channel is about the culture of a group of people. Foods I grew up on. Recipes that are long since forgotten or unable to be reproduced. Something I am doing has drawn you to this channel. While I sympathize with your ailment. And I humbly say this there are channels on RUclips devoted to diabetic cooking. Thank you for watching "Chriscook4u2."
chriscook4u2 Thank You for your prompt response. Yes maam i am drawn to your cooking and your pleasant demeanor in doing so. I wasnt attempting to pass judgement or being negative. Your cooking reminds me of my Grandmother From South Carolina and the down home soulful cooking. Please keeping doing your thang. Lol,Our people need to gather around this style of Love (cooking) and bring back the joy of FAMILY.
