Thank you so much
@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD You are so welcome. I am going to be trying this recipe out today :) Happy Thanksgiving
He has the utmost respect for his mother which is a testament for her showing him love as a boy.
@@OLDSCHOOLSOULFOOD j
the main ingredient is love.
Southern cornbread dressing is the staple for holiday meals.
Yes indeed!!!
So is mac n cheese and candied sweet potatoes or sweet potato pie, Yummy greens ooh, there's more it's all good.
"Sometimes you just gota walk away" as he takes several more bites. Love it and absolutely know that feelng.
same
Who else gets hungry while watching this? I know I want some of that kind of dressing asap
I'm so glad you mentioned no sugar in the cornbread. I've had other people's dressing with sweet cornbread. It's just not right. :)
Sir your dressing is the meal !!!!! THATS ALL I NEED .
This is just how I cook mine. Instead of turkey I use chicken. I love a moist dressing. I also add chopped boiled eggs, but that is for my taste. Thank you for sharing this with me. Truly Old School. 👍💗😊
Yep I remember when my grandma put sausage in her dressing..but I like the shredded chicken in it
my grandma died this year and we found cornbread dressing in her freezer. My mom and I were trying to figure out how to make. Thank you!
I especially loved hearing you talk about your mother asking for more dressing! Thank you for sharing your recipe with us ❣
AMEN!!! I'm the same way about my onions and celery in dressing, & I don't even LIKE celery BUT it's a MUST in some dressing just won't taste the same without it
Exactly!!
Must have sage too!
My great gma was 80 something when she died I never got the chance to get her recipe. I appreciate this real old school recipe I’ve seen all kinds of recipes but I like the easy old school way!
Chef Jeffrey, your story about your Mom and the cornbread pan touched my heart and reminded me of why I keep my Mom’s cast iron skillets. She left in 2012 but I remember her with love whenever cooking with her skillets. Thanks for sharing your Mom with us.❤
Oh I know exactly what you mean. I have my mother’s old mixing bowl ❤
@@jls2915 My Mom passed away at 96 last year but I have all of her bowls and pots. Thanks for sharing this.💗
This recipe is exactly what I been looking for with the Giblet gravy.. this is how my grand mother use to make it. And nobody could duplicate it cause she wouldn’t let us come in the kitchen. But I’ve found you. Thank god!!! I’m about to bring the old school back this year…. This is going to be a good year. Thank you and I mean that.. Best dressing I’ve seen on you tube hands down!!! Very talented brotha!
This is exactly what my grandfather used to make. He too kicked us out of the kitchen lol. It's a lost art in my family due to there were only a few of us that liked it, I'm the only one still living that did. I'll definitely give this a go. As far as the dressing goes, we didn't have cornbread dressing bcuz all my family was from either New England or Chicago; they didn't cook stuff like that. What we had was good though.
I found out about adding sage sausage to my dressing about 3 years ago and have been doing it ever since. It takes the dressing to a whole new level and I love it!
I'm going to try it this year.
I have never had sage sausage or any sausage in my dressing or growing up with it. This looks so good. I can just taste it 😋 I will save this one for sure.
@@vickiemarshall6585 let me tell you..... it's Good! 😂 It's even better the next day!
I will definitely try it.
Sounds good !! 👍
I can smell that sage from 4000 miles away. That dressing looks so good I wouldn't want anything else with it.
I put a quart of chicken stock in the blender and whiz up my celery & onions in that. Then add the rich turkey drippings to that in the dressing before baking. Smooth, no pieces to mess up your dressing!
Just a seat at your table...oh my, it looks so good!
Great show. Reminds me of when I was a kid. I would help mom early Thanksgiving morning. She'd sit the ready turkey on the counter and we'd give it a pat before putting in the oven. Thank you for a wonderful show.
When I make your recopies, I feel the loving care you put into them. It makes my heart smile. I know I'm cooking something delicious for my loved ones. Loving Kindness is the magic ingredient. May you be blessed for all of the happiness you bring to others.
thanks i appreciate that
Chef Jeffrey last Thanksgiving I perfected my dressing with your recipe. The turkey stock is definitely the secret and I'm telling you now my boyfriend loves my dressing better than his 70 year old mothers who is a great cook. He has even requested this dressing throughout the year just couldn't wait till Thanksgiving. Now I check your recipes first whenever I need extra help to perfect my dishes
Awesome 👏
My mother didn’t make cornbread dressing. She made regular bread dressing but she always put sage sausage in hers, too. People always enjoyed her dressing and requested it at holiday potlucks. 👍
I love the memories of your mother that you share.
I like your channel because you make me think about all the old school mother's cooking.
Lawd have mercy… this is real cooking!!
I am sitting in the living room and I can smell that stock through my phone mmmyum. The dressing looks so moist til my tongue is shouting delicious , delicious !😋
CHEF, thank you for the tips. I know not to over cook the dressing. Got to try this recipe for the holiday.
I’m making a pan of your dressing this year . Looks great! Thanks for all your hard work Chef. Hi to your precious Mama.
Chef Jeffery,
You gave me a Huge Christmas Smile, My Beloved went to her glory 12 years ago, I still miss her each and ever day of my life but watching you today brought back a flood of Joyous Memories of her and I preparing the holiday Meals.
Chef Jeffrey,I love watching you cook. You are definitely Old Skool .You can burn like they use to say.I am glad you are showing the young folks how we use to cooking our food.
I appreciate that
Thanks so much for sharing your skills. Love the casserole dishes and your stories about your Mom's casserole dish she gifted to you in the 80's. What a blessing.
Thank you for honoring your mother through your cooking❤.
Hi Chef Jeffery and everyone! Yum, not Thanksgiving without cornbread dressing. I grow and dry my own sage, so good. My daddy didn’t like celery and I made his dressing separately. Thanksgiving and Christmas was always at my house. I agree Chef, cornbread dressing is a savory dish, no sugar in the cornbread. Your dressing looks delicious, thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!
Sounds great!
Lawwwwd😩😩😩😩😩you got me sooo hungry I’m making this thank you so much for this recipe it’s so easy to follow and you explain everything so thoroug☝️☝️♥️♥️♥️
Soul food is the only food and the best food that I know. Love me some good old fashion cornbread dressing. Chow time.....
Honestly, you just make my heart sing! My Momma was from NC and we eat like you do. May Divine opportunities overflow your life this holiday season.
My mouth is watering, can’t wait to make this.
It's fun watching you cook cuz you got methods and be movin' quick.
Oooo can I come live with you! That looks so good! You got with the crowder peas. Thanks for the recipes!!😋😁
Lord, I was eating that dressing right along with him & boy was it good. Smell-a-vision is alive.
I wish I could smell the aroma in your kitchen. Going to try to make it this year. Thank you
Alright Chef you have me over here ready to get to the polish store and order up fresh ground kielbasa/sausage and fix this dressing! I been looking all over the internet for a few years already for a similiar dressing recipe that my grandmother/mother and sister make. I FOUND IT! You have no idea how you have saved my dat. I dont think I am going to be able to wait for Christmas time. I have not had dressing in over 17years. Thank you so much for sharing. FAVORITED!!!
Thanks 🙏🏾
Chef Jeffrey you're the greatest..your old school cooking vlogs are fantastic reminders of my childhood!
Looks so delicious, the centerpiece of a Thanksgiving dinner! Home School Old School just like our older mothers and grandparents cooked it. Absolutely amazing start to the week!

AMAZING! Thank you for sharing your DELICIOUS recipe with me. My family enjoyed your dressing. I don’t have any left over from the day after Thanksgiving. My sons (4) of them and husband were fighting over it. Thank you again.
Awesome 👏
My Mom always put the sage sausage in her dressing. It’s the best. Thanks Chef Jeff for all you do
I made this thanksgivings and it’s my second year! Baby you saved my life with this one. Before then dressing was never right now everyone wants me to make it. ❤️
All I need is some gravy & cranberry sauce. Thanks for sharing.
My daughter's birthday sometimes ends up on Thanksgiving Day and her favorite side dish is dressing. Since my mom went to Heaven I've been making it and my daughter can eat just dressing and gravy as a meal. Instead of using turkey meat I use chicken and it's just as good. Thanks for your time and showing how to make all these great dishes. Peace and love to you. ❤
Making my Moms Dreesing for Everyone for years! This is it the real MCCOY! EXACTLY how she taught
Me! Thank God My Mom taught me! EVERYONE LOVES
Everyone Loves All My Food
Chef Jeffrey! You made me
HUNGRY! CANT WAIT FOR
THANKSGIVING!🥰👋🙏🏽❤🙏🏽
💖💖💖💖💖, mouth watering, yep, this is it. Dressing, candied sweet potatoes, mac n cheese. That's my contribution to the informal Thanksgiving meal. I love everything that I'm bringing, I don't want to buy the store made. My secret ingredient for the candied potatoes, is on its way from Amazon, so is the cheese grater. My hands are not as strong as they used to be. Thank you for keeping it real and uncomplicated. 💖💖💖💖💖
May I ask. What’s the secret ingredient
MMMMmmm!!! I can smell the aromas through the phone!!!!! Looks so 😋 🍴
This is the second time i cooked this on thanksgiving!! i love it
I definitely use the cream of mushroom 🤗 Don’t knock it til you try it 🤞🏾
Ah-man…Oooh-wee…OMG…That is a yum-yum-yum-yummy plate of deliciousness. I love me some dressing and cranberry sauce….don’t need any sides. Chef you are making me hungry 😋 !
I do put cream of celery in mine... never knew about Sage Sausage Wow... I do Buttermilk Dressing I also put bell pepper in my stock along with celery and onion
Chef Jeffery you are the king of dressing!!!💕🤴🏾😘
So sorry you didn’t have a good experience 😔. Blessings & traveling mercies for a safe return home Chef Jeffrey❤️
When I bought my house I hosted thanksgiving and made everything. Never in my life had I made dressing and was scared cause my mom is a food critic. I looked and looked at every recipe on RUclips and didn’t think my mom would like any of them. I ran across this recipe and the gravy recipe and I will never make it any other way. My mom loved it!! Thank you!! ❤❤❤
The Cranberry sauce with the ridges took me out 🤣🤣🤣😂🤣😂
Looks amazing. I’ll try the sausage sausage. I’ve always used the giblets and Turkey necks in mine. Great recipe.
I always was the taste tester for my Momma's dressing. I was like you and could eat the dressing without baking it. Momma always let me have a small dish unbaked. Your dressing is going to be delicious. I am loving your videos. Thank you for a great channel.
I agree on the canned soups, it’s not dressing. Thanks Chef Jef. Your old school way of cooking brings back great memories. EVERYTHING FORM SCRATCH. My moms pie crust is from scratch, she said she’d wouldn’t put her pie filling in someone else’s crust 🤪 she makes her own. Since I ain’t perfected my pie crust like her me, you and Pillsbury see 👀to 👀. Love ya Chef.👏🏿👏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️
You got that right!
Awesome - I can smell and taste it right here right now - you better shut that door! thank you Roy

My mom did like this plus white bread or leftover biscuits. Loved it and do it the same way. Love the idea of sage ssusage. Now I'm hungry.
O my God Chef, that look so good. Just another way for me to make my dressing. Thanks Chef. Be blessed.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Looking delicious.
I'm going to be making dressing for the first time this year, and I'm definitely going to follow your recipe. I've watched all of your dressing videos 😁😁. Thanks Chef!! 🦃
Hope you enjoy
Chef you got me with the rolls. That is most definitely a Thanksgiving staple.
Reminds me of my Grandma's cooking. 🥰
There is a turkey sage breakfast sausage.
Chef Jeffrey, Chef Jeffrey! You did this cornbread dressing, just like Old School from the country. My Mama, bless her soul in Heaven, made her dressing with gizzards and chicken liver, with the debone turkey neck meat. We would just want the dressing and now I have your recipe and it is own, in my kitchen. Your dressing looks so delicious, I just cried out, " that's it." The whole meal is on point and I am ready to eat. Thanks for taking this dressing over the top. Stay safe.
thanks
Grandma taught me how to stuff the bird with a very simple recipe using eggs, it was delicious!
My sister puts the kitchen sink in her's cream of chicken, eggs, liquor etc... its amazing
Now I over think it! Its the SAGE!!!
Seems like the chemistry of the sage has to stay mellow while being heard, like the old school song says " Its Got To Be Mellow!"
Chef J, I make my dressing the same way. I do use duck sometimes as my meat base. It makes the dressing rich. I use a little bell pepper and green onion too. No eggs and it holds together very well. Thank you for sharing the recipe.
Cornbread I like 👍 so cool
I love that old pan. I have two of my mom's cast iron skillets (a Griswold and a Wagner) she gave me years ago. She used to cook in them when I was a little girl. These skillets are over 70 years old and cook great foods.
Dressing gravy cranberry sauce yes Sir I my favorite together Chef
Lord have mercy!!! I'm making it tomorrow.
Your fabulous dressing will be "the star" for my Thanksgiving table! Chef, you're the best!
Delicious! Thanks for sharing this!
Every year before thanksgiving I come to your channel! You never disappoint!! I really Love your cooking! I learn so much just by watching & listening to you!!🥰♥️
Thanks 🙏🏾
I am so ready to see how you make that exceptionally fantastic great tasting dressing!!!
That dressing looks so good! Your entire dinner looks awesome! Thanks for sharing!
That looks so bomb. All I need for Thanksgiving is the dressing and cranberry sauce...nothing else. Great job!
Looks great and I love your dishes so sweet and sentimental seems like those dishes cook the best ❤❤❤
You taught me how to make the dressing. Love it.
Had to watch again!! Making sides ahead of time. I'm not gonna be in the kitchen all day. Heat n eat kind of a day.. Gonna enjoy Thanksgiving too!!
Now that's some good dressing, that's how my mom made it 😋
Brings back great memories. My grandmother made it just like this, it is so good love ❤ th I s, thank you for sharing.
That's lovely that u said so lovingly of your mothers pan- ''Still doing good." I love that sir . I watched your video with a BIG smile the entire time. What a delight you are. I also Looove good food. It makes me feel sooo happy when I get my hands on something delicious and when others enjoy good food. That cornbread stuffing looks absolutely scrumptious. What a treasure to behold. More videos pleease!! Thank you.
Thanks
Oh yeah! Good ole southern cornbread dressing just like my mama use to make.
Making this early Thanksgiving morning to go with my Turkey wings. I love a moist dressing! Thank you for sharing!❤🙏
love hearing you talk about your mama, God bless mama, what wonderful memories you have about your number one lady. I will sure say thanks to mama too when I cook your food..... looks amazing , cant wait to try my first cornbreab dressing. thank-you so much.
Hi, Chef! Love your channel. By the way, the stuff on the bottom is called "fond."
Fond is one of the important parts of making a tasty pan sauce. ... By definition, a fond refers to those little browned bits of food that are often stuck to the bottom of the pan, skillet or baking dish, especially after searing meat or poultry. These browned bits are packages of flavor.
Can't wait to make your dressing!
Thanks for that tidbit. I've always heard it referred to as the 'goodie!'😊
He went to cooking school
I can almost taste it mmmm!!
Sir let me first say Thank you for cooking with love. I am glad I found your channel because I grew up in the country and I come from a family of cooks including my daddy and we don't play about the taste of food. I have seen plenty of videos on how people cook their dressing and this by far is the best one hands down. I knew it when you said you don't measure and it's a science🙌🏾🙌🏾 down to not liking to bite into crunchy onions and celery 😂😂 along with not liking it when cream of mushroom and chicken is added & most of all dry dressing all the pet pet peeves I have too.🙂 The way you said your mom would say give me a lil mo of that dressin baby is definitely a seal of approval cause that's how my granny's were too. That always made me proud. You stirred up some wonderful memories and it makes me miss those Sunday dinners we use to have. You just gained another follower.
Awesome 👏🏾. Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate that
