You made my in-laws hate me. For the entire time my wife and I have been dating all I hear is how good of a cook her mom and grandmother are. I have always been the cook in the family. So one year I was allowed to make dressing and a few other dishes to bring to the gathering. I made this recipe along with a few of my others and needless to say my In-Laws (who think steam is a seasoning) were very upset when the rest of the family lit up and kept saying how good the food is. My mother in law kept mumbling "I mean its not bad but it's not the way I would have made it". This was in 2021, now in 22 for Christmas they all asked if I could make the dressing and souffle sweet potatoes again and now my Mother in law won't talk to me. I used to watch her growing up making dressing. Your process is similar however she used a hen and its juices, boiled her eggs and did cook her cornbread earlier that morning. I can still see her grinding with her hands in that big yellow bowl. Thanks for sharing your recipe💜

I never used rotisserie chicken before. I always used boneless skinless chicken thighs and boil them with the herbs and seasonings on low until it’s done (a few hours). This is quick and perfect for a regular Sunday meal
I'm telling you what..... you took me way back to when my Precious Grandmother cooked this for our entire family on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The beautiful love and things we take for granted. I wanted to find a recipe that was as close to hers as I could get. You did a fabulous job. Your kindness and detail was over the top! God Bless you.
Tammy I made the Dressing for Thanksgiving and it was sooo good. I use four boxes of jiffy cornbread mix which after putting it in the pan because of the size of the cornbread I thought maybe I should have used three, but I used it all in my dressing and the dressing was delicious. I didn't find it to be sweet by it being the Jiffy mix. It was delicious. Oh I think I had already said it was delicious lol. I Bragged about it to my daughter lol. My son and his fiancee invited me to the beach with them because I didn't want to do a big family thing this year like I usually do, because of the Pandemic. I had his fiancee help me with dressing. I am making it again for Christmas and my daughter said she is waiting to taste it since she didn't get to for Thanksgiving. I bought my cornbread mix today, but decided to try a different cornbread mix this time. Again thanks so much.
Yes, RUclips is a great source for learning new recipes! Once you give it a try, you will be amazed at the results!!! I started out with a simple tuna casserole recipe from RUclips and it came out amazingly good! I had leftovers for days!!!
Thank you Tammy. I grew up outside and not in the kitchen. I am 25 single so I have to learn to cook for myself. I watch your videos for new dinner ideas. Your food looks great!
I made this recipe for Thanksgiving and got great reviews! Because the supermarket was out of most of the cornbread mixes, I chose a honey cornbread and it gave it an interestingly sweet flavor, and combined with salt in the chicken...well, it was lovely. And pulling that chicken apart was very relaxing. 😂 Thanks Tammy!
Here again because Thanksgiving is next week! I used this recipe for Easter 2022 and now I’m going to use it again! It was definitely a hit in my family!
I was thinking about my aunt stuffing earlier today, the only difference is she used turkey, and two other things her homemade lemon meringue pie and her carrot cake.
I am not a Thanksgivings Day cooker I usually house hop. Unfortunately both my family and extended family decided not to cook a traditional Thanksgivings this year. So ultimately that left me to cook for my household super thrilled about creating my own food I stumbled across a ton of recipes for Cornbread Dressing and ultimately settled for this one. I followed the instructions as much as possible only making minor substitutions. Instead of using the rotisserie chicken, which I completely forgot at the store even though I went three times trying to get everything lol, so I improvised and used Tyson Canned White Meat Chicken which I usually use for my Chicken Salads. I also didn’t have thyme or poultry seasoning and instead used complete seasonings now because the complete comes with several other ingredients I used 1 tsp and not tbsp. Really easy recipe I found baking it for an 1hr 15 min long gave me the perfect consistency I was looking for. My husband doesn’t like dressing/stuffing but I made enough for two batches & he absolutely loves how moist it is and hasn’t been trying to let anyone else get ahold of it either . I’m definitely going to continue using this great recipe.
The regular old dressing needed help and Oh Emm Gee! THIS was so, so, so very good. Even the NON-dressing eaters were coming back for seconds. Thought my hubby and I might come to blows over the last bit. Thanks so much for this! 💜
Mine was a hit last year. Remember I said ur a lifesaver? Well I'm back again lifesaver. I kne exactly where to come😂. Thank u in advance Tammy. Hope u have a wonderful holiday 💜
Kerrygold is crazy expensive, BUT it kicks up every single recipe you use it with. During like Thanksgiving and Christmas, that’s the only butter I will use. Makes everything taste rich and flavorful.
I dont know if your store carries it but the Amish Roll butter is very good butter. Its just a step below the Kerrygold butter but you get so much more and its very delicious.
Well, no need to wait for my momma to show me how to make stuffing now, when we have Tammy to the rescue! Chile, this recipe looks like a winner and can't wait to try!!!! Thank you and happy holidays!!! ♥️

Hey Tammy My sisters usually make the dressing for the holidays, but since we got this pandemic going on I had to make it myself. With me following your step by step instructions. Thanks to you it turned out fantastic and I'm looking forward more recipes. Be Bless Sharon

So I just made this recipe with your cornbread recipe and all I can say is delicious my man loved it and so did I. He said it tasted like I been doing this for years and this was only my first time. So thank you and can’t wait to try one of your other recipes
True honest question, is this how your mother and great grandmother made chicken and dressing? The reason I ask is because my southern bred and born self was taught by my mama to use cornbread, onion, celery, broth from the boiled chicken, poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, old bread heels, crackers, and old biscuits. But not a whole lot of the last 3 ingredients. I am not trying to be mean just wondering. God bless and HUGS!! You know what I am gonna save this recipe and do this for the holidays and adventure out of my comfort zone. So sweet lady cross everything you got and pray for me, lol!! And I love me some raw dressing so I don't know if I can eat this like that, but we will see! Marilyn
People sometimes enhance recipes from the way they were taught. So nothing wrong from tweeking the old recipes sometimes it tastes better. I’m not a fan of dressing but this really makes me want to try it.
@@marilynread364 see that's the diff. My mother taught me to put eggs in my cornbread and bake it then add to my dressing. I would never add more to the dressing, don't feel there is a need to, Blessings
You can add the eggs after u taste it. The eggs make it richer but u taste it b4 to see if u need to adjust the seasoning. I make mine pretty close to this with a few different things. Trust me this recipe is probably really good. Good luck 😊
Making dressing today been using my same recipe for years. I recently found your channel and your recipes haven't led me wrong yet. Although I've already started my dressing I did however do my veggies the way you've done yours and added chicken seasoning to the dressing. I saved this video for the next time I make some. God bless you Tammy.
I made this dressing recipe for Christmas as I was alone. I made some modifications (I substituted Jiffy cornbread and chicken drumsticks), but I am so glad that I found this recipe because it was easy to follow and it turned out DEEEELICIOUS! A great comfort food to have, given the circumstances. Thank you for sharing. And happy holidays to you and yours!
This dressing looks good. Only thing I was disappointed about was the corn bread. My grandma and mom would kill me if I use sweet corn bread mix. Only corn bread made from scratch. But the outcome look delicious.
@@CookingWithTammy. I just watched it I see you use yellow corn meal. . That's why I thought it was boxed corn bread mix. I'm going to try the yellow corn meal.
That's the way you make a good ol dressing exactly the way i make it but i put a stick of melted butter in my mix but anyway this looks awesome i could taste it❤
I used this recipe last year and needless to say I’m back again! If y’all don’t do anything else save this recipe to a thanksgiving playlist and make this! You won’t regret it I promise you. Thanks Tammy 🥰🥰🥰

Cousin Tammy!!!! Listen!!! I made this for Thanksgiving and HONEYYYYYYY!!!!! IT was a hit! I know you never tire of hearing this because the recipe is simply a gem! Thanks soooooo much for posting and sharing your love of cooking with us. I'm a dressing lover and I completely blown away by this simple, tasty recipe!!!
Tammy!!!! This dressing turned out amazing. So happy that we used this recipe this year. It was alot of ingredients but sooooo worth it. Tasted fantastic. Definitely will make again. Not just for Thanksgiving!!
Looks so good! I thank you so much for this recipe because I make my dressing with livers and gizzards. I hate having to cook them and cut them up along with all the other stuff I have to cut up. I am one who hates having to cut up a lot of stuff. So since I taught my daughter how to make it with the livers and gizzards I gave her the responsibility of bringing the dressing to the family Thanksgiving dinner lol. So just grabbing a rotisserie chicken from a store sounds good to me lol. I probably make this for Thanksgiving! I want to add as I have said once before I love you demonstrations.
Yeeeesss Tammy, this is how we make it in my family. My aunt adds cream of mushroom also and talk about moist. Thank you for sharing I’ll be making my cornbread tonight. 😍
I absolutely love cornbread dressing. I’ve never used cream of chicken and celery I only use broth. I must try your recipe that dressing looks absolutely delicious!
I've made cornbread dressing for years and I've never known about the cream soups either. I'm really tempted to try it for Thanksgiving in a few weeks with that change as I've noticed that trend in a ton of YT videos.
@@smplyblessed Cream of chicken was the way I was taught by my sister when she tried to show me an easy way of making dressing. She said to each can of soup use a can of hot water but I use the liquid from my gizzards that I cook to go in my dressing. I cut up my celery and cook it with my gizzards, in a separate pot I cook my liver, boil some eggs, after cutting up everything I put in in my herb stuffing that I buy from the store. I add the cream of chicken soup, and liquid and a pinch of sage. But this recipe with the chicken seems to be much simpler because as I said before I hate having to cook and cutting up gizzards. Also it's a lot more to mine so I will be trying this one.
I usually do our cornbread stuffing with the giblets and neck of the turkey but will try this recipe this year! I'm very Thankful I'm not doing the "Hosting Thanksgiving" this year but me and hubby always cook our own also and we try to use a new recipe each year and this is the one! Thank you for sharing❤
That's what I use gizzards and livers but since this looks like it simpler I plan to try it. I might follow Tammy's to the tee but might use my regular boil eggs cut up in it instead of the raw ones.

You know what I am gonna save this recipe and do this for the holidays and adventure out of my comfort zone. So sweet lady cross everything you got and pray for me, lol!! And I love me some raw dressing so I don't know if I can eat this like that, but we will see! Marilyn
You like the dressing raw? I’m sure I misunderstood something. Be safe with raw eggs. Another Marilyn
That’s the way I was taught too
People sometimes enhance recipes from the way they were taught.
Good luck 😊
AMEN AMEN I'M GOING TO TRY THIS FOR THANKSGIVING ! THIS LOOKS SO DELICIOUS 😋
I normally don't have the patience to watch any cooking video over 10 minutes, but yours was worth it. Thanks!
Wow, thanks!
Great!!!! Enjoy DMJ. May u and your family continue to be blessed as well.🤗⭐️
Definitely using this recipe this Thanksgiving may even give it a test run this week and add chicken gizzards and livers to it thank you
You made it just like I do. I can't wait for Thanksgiving
I’m so happy everything turned out Great!! Happy holidays as well. Stay safe and stay blessed💕😘
Trying this recipe this year! Helpful hint if you have a middle eastern grocery store around, you can always find fresh sage there.
I wish I was at you house. I love cornbread stuffing. I must this. Ty ty Divaaaaa
This looks legit! Now I'm looking for your mac and cheese recipe.
It's so good melanie, that mac recipe is there, enjoy and continue to keep me posted and bringing that love outta the kitchen, thanks for watching
@@CookingWithTammy. my
My husband turned me on to Tammy's channel We love her recipes! A new spin on southern dishes.
This dressing looks good. Only thing I was disappointed about was the corn bread. My grandma and mom would kill me if I use sweet corn bread mix. Only corn bread made from scratch. But the outcome look delicious.
Thanks, but the cornbread was made from scratch. I used the same cornbread recipe in the video that I posted 2 weeks ago minus the honey.
@@CookingWithTammy. Ok thanks for informing me I guess I missed that video.
@@bridgettegoff2536 no problem it happens. I wouldn’t play u guys out like that with the Jiffy lol. Have a great evening Bridgette.🤗
@@CookingWithTammy. I just watched it I see you use yellow corn meal. . That's why I thought it was boxed corn bread mix. I'm going to try the yellow corn meal.
@@bridgettegoff2536 ok cool
That's the way you make a good ol dressing exactly the way i make it but i put a stick of melted butter in my mix but anyway this looks awesome i could taste it❤
Same and one more ingredient.
@@Actstwo38 👀👀👀and that one more ingredient is......😏
I knew somebody now what to do my mom use to make this recipe thank you for sooooooo much for memory of old fashion cooking loving it
My pleasure 😊
I go to my local bbq stop and get a whole smoked chicken to use in mine. Sometimes if i fry a turkey, i will use some of it in the dressing also.
Wow that sounds like it would taste even better with smoked meat. ❤️
I used this recipe last year and needless to say I’m back again! If y’all don’t do anything else save this recipe to a thanksgiving playlist and make this! You won’t regret it I promise you. Thanks Tammy 🥰🥰🥰
Agreed!!! I'm back again as well. 😂
Tammy this looks soo DELICIOUS! I wish I could taste it!!!
I'm trying this for Thanksgiving,stay safe 😁
Happy holidays!

My girl Tammy! Thank you thank you thank you! I did this last year at home for Thanksgiving. We all had Thanksgiving in our own homes due to covid but this year hunny, this will be the dish I will be taking back home for the holidays!! Thanks again girl!!!
I used your video for the last two Thanksgivings and still coming back just incase😂. My family loves this recipe!
I made this for thanksgiving. OMG! So good.
Glad you liked it!! Happy Holidays to you Lynda
@@CookingWithTammy. I’m not sure how I came across your video, but I’m so glad I did! I don’t even eat stuffing and I’ve certainly never made it before. But it was so good. And my family loved it. I’ll most like make it again... several times before the end of the year.
This was a big hit at my house tonight!!! I dont have much left for myself
Tammy!!!! This dressing turned out amazing. So happy that we used this recipe this year. It was alot of ingredients but sooooo worth it. Tasted fantastic. Definitely will make again. Not just for Thanksgiving!!
I've never put the soups in my dressing. The rest sounds like what I do. Definitely will try it your way this year. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
me neither!!! I always make my own chicken broth I've been seeing a lot of people lately using that cream of chicken
Ive been adding soup add flavor
My moms always used the cream of celery and chicken . Recipe is so similar but I’m just going to add the chicken
Baby that soup in there is life
That is a meal by it self yummy
One a side note, trying this today but my wife really loved your smothered turkey wings. Ty
I made the smothered turkey wings yesterday...so good!!!! My kids loved it.
Ever had oyster dressing. NOLA thing.
Yeeeesss Tammy, this is how we make it in my family. My aunt adds cream of mushroom also and talk about moist. Thank you for sharing I’ll be making my cornbread tonight. 😍
I tried this today and it was a HIT!!! Thank you.
Fantastic!
Girl I tried your recipe and it was DELICIOUS 😋
Hey Tammy happy Wednesday just in time for Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing this this recipe!
You are so welcome Sonya!!!
Girl that looks good my Big mama would add bits of smoked Turkey to it too🤤
Hmmm smoked turkey...I’m going to try that...
I make an Italian sausage cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving. I might try this one for Christmas. Great idea with rotisserie chicken!
I'm late to the party! But i'm making this for Thanksgiving 2023.
I absolutely love cornbread dressing. I’ve never used cream of chicken and celery I only use broth. I must try your recipe that dressing looks absolutely delicious!
I use cream of chicken soup in mine but never thought of the cream of celery.
This was awesome. Tried today. Two thumbs up. From ky
Love that you wear gloves!!
Who wears gloves to cook for their family? Clean hands are perfectly fine.
Anyone who wants to wear gloves, can do so.
Yummy!!!! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, anytime!!!
Just go on and ship mine to the house here I'm starving
Fixing this Thanksgiving "2022'..Looks amazing so I know the taste is amazing as well. Plus your steps to make was not difficult. Thankyou for sharing
Happy holidays Lelia!
Happy Holidays Caramama!
@@CookingWithTammy. Thanks. Same to you!🤗
That's what I use gizzards and livers but since this looks like it simpler I plan to try it. I might follow Tammy's to the tee but might use my regular boil eggs cut up in it instead of the raw ones.
It’s Christmas Day and I’m making it now can’t wait to taste it Merry Christmas
