There is just something about watching a very strong & proud Black American woman take pride and joy in cooking for herself and her family and friends. Love is the secret ingredient in every delicious dish & you, my dear lady serve it up every time you step in that kitchen. Thank you 4 the recipes AND for spreading the 💜 🙏
Best dressing was my Grandma's n Momma's dressing. Ive tried the past two years to dupe it but not quite there just yet.. thank you for shaking this! This recipe is pretty close!! God bless 🙏
Thanks for sharing. We're giving thanks Sun this year. My mother is 72 and work 12 hour shifts. So I was nominated to create our meal. I work too but under pressure because I know we're wanting a good meal. I honestly would whip out boxes of stuffing. But decided to try and do better than that. I ran across your version and I know I can do this. I don't even like dressing but I love my family. So thanks for this.
Ms. Donna you are amazing! I love this recipe. My grandma did hers like yours, except she added sage sausages to her recipe. You truly are a gift from God.
I season my cornbread and let it set overnight. Then I add the onions, celery, cream of mushrooms, cream of chicken and chicken broth. Mix everything very well and bake. (ADD 2 EGGS TO CORNBREAD MIX) BAKE 1 HOUR.
i just love watching you cook. You are truly a real home cook, cooking what you learned from your Mom, and knows what she is doing. I have learned a lot just by watching you. Thanks for sharing.
Using better than Bouillon is such a great idea. I hate using cream of mushroom. Plus you use carrots!! I've been looking for this recipe. Thanks so much Ms Donna!
You did the right thing by taking a sample out to taste. The first time you used your fingers to take a taste then went back to cooking without washing your fingers after your tasting. The 2nd tasting you did correct by putting a sample in the cup and using a spoon for the taste test.
I love to see you taste it while you make it, I do the same. That’s how our granny’s made it! They didn’t use a measuring system! They just tasted it! I guess I am old fashioned! Love it!!!! God bless you and your family
Thank you Ms Donna for sharing this recipe! I’m definitely going to try this one especially with those extra bouillon flavors that I’ve been looking at! I’m excited to see what else you’ve got on your page. Happy Thanksgiving!
I have never made dressing and I am 65 years young. I thank you so much for showing me how. I like moist dressing. My mom always made it dry. It taste good but it was to dry for my taste. My went to be with Jesus feb.6th 2021, she was 96. Thanks for shareing with us.
Love watching! Your way seems a lot easier than mine. I make a big pan of cornbread and add all my ingredients to the cornbread when it’s hot out the oven… also add 1 egg and mix in. Everybody cooks different, but still taste FABULOUS! I agree - add a little seasoning at a time after each taste. Happy eating!
❤I just wanted to say thank you, I’m disabled not able to stand on my feet to long. So I decided to cook Thanksgiving dinner and do the best I can, so I RUclips about slow cooking a Turkey in a crockpot, and I pick your video on cooking the dressing. I usually make my dressing in the oven, I’ve near used some of your ingredients, me I use onions, celery, sage, butter & poultry seasoning and salt and pepper. But I did your way with because I had everything, my granddaughter said that was the best dressing that she has ever had. My back started hurting and I had bought the yams in the circle that’s in the frozen section, so I took how you started your dressing for my yams as well. I sauté the butter, once the butter started browning a little I added the brown sugar, then I added, nutmeg, cinnamon, and I let it cook for a little while when it started bubbling a little I turned the stove off. Then in a pan I put the sweet potatoes and then poured my sauce over the sweet potatoes and put them back in the oven. Let it cook for 30-45 minutes, then I took them out, poured marshmallows on the top, it went back in the oven till they were done. My granddaughter also said the yams were all for her, she does not want to share. Thank you 😊 for helping me prepare my Thanksgiving meal. 🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾🥰🙏🏾
Heyyy, Donna!☺️ You are off and running in your kitchen! That is right. The flavors have to be able to stand up to all of that bread. If there is not enough seasonings in there, when it's all said and done, it will turn out bland. 😳😆 That's why we have to taste as we go. You are the Best teacher!😊 For those who don't know how to prepare certain things, you give excellent feedback, information and insight regarding baking and cooking!😊 You are an enlightenment!❤
I have never made dressing like that. I do like some of your pointers. Never added water and dressing before and always baked it. Love your cake recipes
This dressing is how I like, not too mushy, if you like mush you can always drown it in gravy. I've looked at many recipes, this is the one that I'll do, thank you dearheart for sharing this version of making dressing with us. I may add sage sausage to mine, but I will controll how much liquid is added. Stove top it is, flavorful a must.🙌🏿✌🏿👍🏿💖
Donna, I have been making dressing for so many years. But, it's a good thing to learn new techniques. So this year, I will try at best to try your way. You like myself, mimic so many 9f my mom's recipes. Through the tears, I gave tried to add to it take away some things. Merry Christmas 2021
Thank you Donna for sharing, your recipe and cooking process is a lot like mine, learned from my mom and aunts and my husband absolutely my dressing. He even likes the cornbread that I make especially for the dressing lol, always coming in to get a piece before I crumble it all up. That dressing looked so good I could almost smell it, so I know it tasted good too. My mom used to make dressing this way for catering, and all of us kids learned to keep a package of Pepperidge Farm on hand just because lol. Be blessed Donna, you are a blessing to many!
Think I'll have to give this a try , I'm sure being a guy it will take me few times to get to the taste thats just right . but I believe this video gives me a good jumping off spot to start with . Thank you very much for sharing .
You came across my feed and you look like you know how to cook. The first thing I did was check out your dressing ingredients. If I would have seen just one can of soup, that would have been the end of me watching this video. This is the way I grew up making and eating dressing. My mother made dressing this way and I was the one who did the tasting after the ingredients were mixed. Great video! Can't wait to see your other's. Subscribing today 🤩
I so love your channel. I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family. I use the Pepperidge Farm herb and cornbread dressing mixed together and it is the BOMB!! I like to use the gibblets from the turkey and will use gizzards and sage sausage in it as well. For my turkey, I do a wet brine. We love it, the flavor is amazing and it is so moist. I can't wait for Thanksgiving and I will be making a few of your cakes. Blessings to you and your family. Remember, I only live 1 hour and 45 minutes from you.
Thank you so much, looks yummy adding this to my list. Picked up some Swan's cake flour for one of your delicious cake recipes, I think I will try the lemon 🍋 one first. Thanks again for bringing us into your kitchen ❤
Yummy!! I love moist dressing too 😋😋😋 I do a Thanksgiving Dinner delivery for the Seniors in the community every year in my Daughter Ronique's memory. This will be the 6th annual dinner. I think that the Seniors will appreciate this dressing! Thank you for the recipe 💜💜💜🥰🥰
Why would you put eggs in stuffing?? No eggs, just mix with broth, & seasonings. When doing a Turkey, I always use the meats from the inner parts, neck, gizzard, liver & heart. They make that stuffing REAL!!! next, gizzard, liver
Thanks Donna, I am hosting Thanksgiving again this year and will try this stuffing recipe. So if I wanted to bake it in the oven, just give it a little more moisture. Cant wait to see more Thanksgiving recipes.

Mrs Donna, thanks for sharing your recipes for dressing it loved delicious. I make my dressing with italin sausage and apples, dry cranberries and sofrito. Witch is a combination of onions, bell pepper, garlic, parsley and olive oil and season salt and I blend together in the food processor. We as Puerto Rican this is the was we season our food. @@deansurratt7404 I love a good shortcut! One thing I do is bake my cast iron skillet panful of cornbread with my chopped onion, celery, & bell peppers already mixed in + my seasonings (garlic & onion powders, sage, & white pepper). I use chicken broth for my liquid & a li'l bit of milk but have never used the cream soups mentioned (this year just may be my first) 😏 Love Thanksgiving & always feel so very grateful & blessed, no matter where I am or who I'm with, that's the day I'm up cooking like I'll be having a houseful of guests coming to break bread (usually I don't, but hey..more leftovers for me) 😅
Thanks for sharing this. I made cornbread dressing Sunday and it was too salty. I never even thought to taste while I was mixing or add some water 🤦🏽♀️
At 83 and cooking since a small child where everyone was in the kitchen and it was all from scratch lol I never thought of putting the peppers in my stuffing but i do love them and next time i make stuffing dressing for the holidays i will give that a try.. Hi Donna, that looks delicious. I have never had a mixture of the cornbread and herbs dressing together or the carrots. So Sunday I will try it out with a baked chicken. I'm sure it will be good cause all your food is good. I love dressing, I can eat them with the candied yam and be happy. Thanks again for another great video.
Thank you for sharing that. I have learned a few things which I plan on using this year. I thought I might share with you something I've done the last few years. I have been making my dressing in muffin tins. For my family it is the right size portion and freezes easily when they are left overs. Also I would like to know the brand and size of your pan that you used. Thanks! God bless!
I like loose stuffing too and that looks sooo good, my Mom did hers that way except she would add chicken or sage sausage and put it in the oven but not eggs….was your cornbread sweet or reg, thanks for sharing
Looks yummy Donna😃 I MAKE mashed potatoe stuffing so good.my son in law likes your style I think I'll be making it for him I'll just have to 3rd the recipe. All the ingredients look good. Thanks for sharing
Donna was this stove top dressing you made i never saw you put it in oven. Senior citizen here who has to bake it in oven last but not long enough to get dried out.
Out of all the dressing recipes I have seen, yours is the only one I see use bell peppers. My auntie CaCa (don't ask lol) makes hers with peppers and I love hers. I will definitely try out yours!!!
Dressing is my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner….besides my mince pie. I have to do a vegetarian version though because of my niece and daughter. Use vegetable stock, dried cranberries and chopped nuts. It’s really good but I do miss the kind you make.

You can also add milk if it has reached its maximum level of salt. I've had it evaporated milk too.
Donna was this stove top dressing you made i never saw you put it in oven. Senior citizen here who has to bake it in oven last but not long enough to get dried out.
You looking like you know what you're doing! It's smelling like Thanksgivings, yummy for my tummy.
Out of all the dressing recipes I have seen, yours is the only one I see use bell peppers. My auntie CaCa (don't ask lol) makes hers with peppers and I love hers. I will definitely try out yours!!!
I always use bell peppers
I use bell pepper in mine as well, I would watch my grandmother make dressing and I was always her taste tester😊
My mom always used the Pepperidge farms stuffing mix too and we put our sage and stuff in it. Thanks for sharing, looks good.😊❤
Exact ingredients my grandfather uses…yum😊

How can I find your Sweet Potato Pie Recipe
I want to make it for Thanksgiving. Thank you
Dressing is my favorite part of Thanksgiving dinner….besides my mince pie. I have to do a vegetarian version though because of my niece and daughter. Use vegetable stock, dried cranberries and chopped nuts. It’s really good but I do miss the kind you make.
Corn bread looks delicious 😊❤👍🏾
