We add celery, pecans and dried cranberries to our Stove Top stuffing mix. We also use chicken or turkey broth for the liquid. Yum! Hope you have a great weekend. Cheers!
Hey Gal...yes I thought about that too. Thank you for letting us know, I know all those things make it yummy. You be careful and safe lady. Blessings, Jill
I add pecans bacon and dried cranberries to what you did. Yum!! I use to add sausage instead of bacon but John isn’t fond of sausage, but loves bacon 🥓 🙄
Mom used to make her dressing all the way out, but in later years she did it just like this, we all loved it, and the important part that was that she had less work and could spend more time enjoying the meal and the family. That was important!
Awe how precious Sheila...I know lady. I will kick it in one year and try to make it again gal. Happy Thanksgiving lady. Appreciate you watching always. Hugs, Jill
Revereware is the best, I have the same set. Mine is stamped 1977 on the bottom, I bought it in 1978. Food tastes great cooked in these pans. They were expensive but they last a lifetime.
I watch a lady the other day take a slice of deli turkey and put this on it and roll it up. Then cover it with gravey and bake it. This was one of her quick meals.
We do that too but we add cranberry sauce to ours, the sweetness of the cranberry sauce is a great combination with all the other flavors. My family (even my picky kids) love it!
I always make homemade dressing but last week I tried making Stove top and my kids liked it.A cream of chicken, cream of celery, turkey gravy. Two boxes of stove top turkey and two boxes of chicken stove top.butter,Chicken bouillon, onyion.Chicken breast.I think that's it lol..Oh and I did add a little sage and very little poultry seasoning.Thank you for the video. I'm not spending the holidays with family because of covid. But I am cooking and sitting their plate's outside on the table when they say their on the way.New subscriber:)
Awe Hi RT! Welcome and thank you so much for subbing! I am so sorry you will not be able to spend with fam...its surely a different year isn't it! So glad you liked the Stove top and it sounds like you have some other great ideas. Keep me posted. Be blessed. Hugs, Jill
I use 2 boxes of the cornbread stove top & one box of the regular bread stove top & it taste very close to homemade dressing, with the fresh sauted veggies & seasonings! If u're having more people than usual, u could add one pack of pepperidge farm cornbread dressing mix & add enough chicken broth to give it the moisture it needs...OR u could just add more boxes of stove top to your liking. The 3 boxes of stovetop is about adequate amount for our family. The stovetop really helps out us older gals who may have some health problems!
I’ve been using turkey stove top stuffing for years. I added sausage, apples, raisins, celery, onions, broth. My family loved it! So delicious and way less time consuming than making from scratch.
Sorry for the delay. Yes, I cook the sausage like ground beef first, then add the chopped apples, onions, celery, raisins and liquid from the Turkey. I don’t have measurements. After all this is soften then combine it with the stove top stuffing mix.
Thank You so much for your help❤️ lost my nanny last month and she was the dressing maker, I greatly appreciate it❤️ Sending Dallas Texas ❤️ Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours🦃
Hi Shawna...I am so sorry gal that you lost your Nanny. Glad you had her for so many years though. Sending love and hugs to you. Thank you for watching lady. Blessings! Jill
It's 5:49a.m.where I am now, and I just happened to be browsing trying to see how other people make dressings/stuffings and came across your video. When I saw your cookware I knew it was paul revere because I have the same set! Lol...bought mine from Target back in 1995 and still use it sometimes, but back to the video....I loved your dressing additions, it was very simple and looked delicious. The way you were working that spoon and smoothing and leveling that dressing in the pan, I could tell by the way your wrist was working and angled, I was thinking and saying to myself...'honey that lady can sho nuff cook, she don't play around in that kitchen, she can cook some good food!!! Beautiful kitchen also...thanks for the wonderful video...god bless you and your family.
My grandmothers recipe adds celery, mushrooms, Macintosh apples, and sliced almonds to Pepperidge farm herb stuffing mix. It wouldn’t be thanksgiving without it!
We like to use boxed stuffing and dress it up with additional onions, celery, and dried cranberries. Also using broth as you did makes for a richer taste. I still have my Mother’s and Grandmother’s Revereware which they both used forever! Thanks for sharing!
Hidy Outdoors! Thank you for sharing about the Revere Ware...it is the best isn't it! Also thank you for your recipe...all of those things can dress it up and make it taste so yummy! Appreciate you watching! Blessings, Jill
I use the Pepperidge Farm with chicken broth add sautéed onions and celery then stir into the prepared stuffing and add finely diced apple, a handful of raisins and some crasins. Yum!
Thank you! I've been dreading making dressing for just two and this will make it so much easier. I'm going to add pecans also and I don't think hubby will know the difference.
Hey Jill! Tried your recipe a few days ago and it was delicious. I love my mom's Thanksgiving dinner bet this is better then hers and she does it the old fashioned, takes forever way. Thanks for this recipe. I hope all of our Thanksgivings all better this year. God bless you to!
Thank you for this! Our family is divided up in different places this year, and I'm having to cook for my elderly mother and was in a panic on what to do about the dressing. 👍🏻
YAY 65MK! I am so happy this helps someone out there gal. Sorry you are dispersed...we are too...but I do pray for you to have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Be blessed, Jill
cookware is amazing!! I have my moms 50 year old potato masher and can opener..I also have a 50 year old dutch oven that was my mom"s brand? .Amway!....and it's still strong as can be..This sounds like a delish enhancement to stove top, thanks
Hello my friend! I love this name brand stuffing as well. I just added the celery to my grocery list. Yes our thanksgiving gathering is going to be very small as well. Just my husband, parents and me. We decided not to have our sons over for the sake of my mother who continues to decline in her health. Prayers very much appreciated. But I have all my stuff for thanksgiving already, except the celery. I’m getting it though! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, my friend. We are so blessed to live in this country and I am so proud of it. God Bless you and your harvest. Take care.
Hi Bertha. I think of you often and wonder how your Mom is doing. I will continue to pray lady. We will have a small get together too..not what I am used too. So glad to hear from you. Please do stay in touch and keep me posted. Lots of love, hugs and blessings. Jill
I have been making your recipe let me tell you.. my family tells everyone “my mom makes the best stuffing 😂 I have to make extra because my family keeps eating it before we all eat..!I jus want to say thank you so much this is the best recipe..
I just tested a box of stove top, as I’ve always made traditional southern cornbread dressing. Today I did stovetop with sautéed onions and celery in butter, chicken stock, diced dried apricots, craisins and toasted pecans.... I then scooped them onto parchment paper with a cookie scoop.... baked until crispy and will serve as a party appetizer tomorrow for a wreath/pie baking day with 2 friends. It tastes amazing... from a north Texan that was a stove top snob until today!!!
Hi Kristy...I know..Fingerhut was the best....gosh I got bedding, towels, all kinds of things from there when I didn't make much...it really was a blessing. Hope you are well. Hugs Jill
I make this year round but usually use sausage as that's what I traditionally use in my Thanksgiving and Christmas dressings. Oh so yummy, everyone loves it and most never realize that it's made using Stovetop. Thanks for sharing.
What I do every year is saute ground sausage and add it to the already cooked stove top. Since basically stovetop is the bread cubes, seasonings and dehydrated onion and celery anyway. Always comes out delicious.
I mmake my own for Thanksgiving. We all LOVE it so I start with 3 pounds of bread. But any other time, I cheat with this. I'm shocked it never occurred to me to dress it up a bit. Sweet Italian sausage is our favorite add-in. Just one pound per 3 pounds of bread or it takes over. Bet it would go a long way to dress up the box! Thanks for the idea(s)!!!
Hidy StarA...yes gal...I can easily see adding sausage...cranberrys...apples etc to dress this up lady. Thank you so much for watching! Be blessed my new friend. Jill
My Mom made homemade and it was fairly simple. Standard onion, celery and butter and seasonings like thyme and black pepper. She used cubes or sometimes cut up her own stuffing bread. I think it took longer because the oven seemed to be smaller and he turkey took up most of it. She made her pies the night before and stuffed the turkey the night before. She would come down really early and put it in and go back to bed for a couple more hours. Now we know it is not good to stuff the bird early. I still make it her way. Yours looks yummy and I will have to try that with leftovers. A side note the little town closest to us, pop. about 5,500 has decreed that as of Monday you cannot walk down the street without a mask on. I am staying home. ; )
Oh Michele...what special memories you have lady. I will make homemade someday when I have more energy lady...I do cook the Turkey and ham with veggies...I need to break down and do this...sigh on the mask...our cases are ramping up higher than before...Be safe gal. Many blessings to you and your family this Holiday season. Hugs Jill
Box stuffing vs made from scratch taste the same to me as long as it is cooked right, I love box stuffing 😂😂😂 easy and taste the same when you add the fresh sautteed celery and onions
You're too funny, Jilly .. Innovative, in the turkey filling, I liked you, for your creativity. I imagine that the celery is from your greenhouse, needless to say .. .I like your spirit and your persona.Compliments .., you know how to amaze me. 😉👍👏💋❤️🇮🇹
@@ntxg Here, in Italy, the feast of thanksgiving is not celebrated, but I know, as I have part of the family, as I told you long ago, Americans, who live in America, in different states. All male cousins ... So I know, traditions and customs.
I made homemade stuffing the few years I hosted Thanksgiving before my kids were born. After that, my extra time evaporated. 😴 Besides, my husband and I are the only ones who eat the stuffing. It has been boxed mix every year ever since. Maybe I’ll try a few add in’s this year.
I've had my Revere Ware for about the same amount of time, and my Momma used Revere Ware sinec she married my Daddy waaaay back when!! That looks delish!!!
@@ntxg to my boxed stuffing, I add a pound of ground beef, an egg, a couple big squirts of ketchup and smash it between my fingers and then shape it into a loaf pan and call it meatloaf 😂 😆 I actually make lasagna dinner for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My secret ingredient for lasagna is two blocks of Philadelphia cream cheese melted smooth with a splash of milk, instead of ricotta cheese. I got the recipe from a Philadelphia cream cheese recipe book from fingerhut back in the ‘90’s 😆
I made your sruffin hack for Thanksgiving last year and you would of thought my family had never had stuffing in their life. Lol Yesterday I invited everyone over for chicken and dumplings and my daughter ask if I could make stuffing with it... I just laughed at her. Apologies for depriving her of good stuffing over the last 35 years. Thanks now everyone thinks I'm amazing, or at least my stuffing is amazing.
I added the self same stuffing you have to my dumpling recipe(fluffy dumplings) ... took a little longer, but were rather good. Nanny Ethel(hubby's grandmother who lived till 103!) supervised the family dressing... and always wanted "More Sage!"
I will have to ask MIL for that recipe... its a memory we savor each year... Nanny in her wheelchair ultimately... sitting at the stove with her daughter(herself in her late 60s) offering Nanny the spoon to taste test, and then smacking her lips a little saying .. mmm.. more sage! lol
We will be setting the table for 12 people this year, three of which are kids younger than 11. I like how you doctored up the Stove Top Stuffing. I plan on doing a little test with a box of STS before Thanksgiving gets here. Your method is uncomplicated and easy to follow. I am probably going to split a box into thirds and add cranberry raisins to one, chicken to another and finally mix the two together for the third. With a dozen people, how many boxes would you suggest??
I bake my cornbread early in the week and make from scratch. I have tried the stuffing mixes, but they all have onions, which I am allergic to. Dressing is also good if you make it up completely and freeze it before cooking it. Then it doesn't take so long for Thanksgiving meal.
You mentioned your sister, leisa Clarke! One of my besties here in Aus!!! That looked awesome! I will look around here to see if we have something like it! Thank you x
Hi Michele...YES!!!!! Lady why didn't you tell me you were the Aussie Foessels??? Thats my sister....shes a great cook too but she leans to the seafood cuisine!!!!! You need to come over with her, would love to meet you...I've met your son!
I live about 17 miles from where your revere ware was made if it's a quality set made in Clinton Illinois. I'm building up my pans again after my ex-husband took half of them. I hate every other pan I own compared to my revere ware
Damn!! Thats a great recipe for those of us who kinda don't know how to cook!! Thank you so much for this recipe!! I can do this. Appreciate it. Have a great Thanksgiving from West Virginia.
Hi quick question does it matter which stove top to use? Do you use regular cornbread one? They stove top chicken, turkey, herbs or something like that lol I got confused it's my first time making stuffing😊
Just for thought love you recipe but dressing is in a pot or baking dish made separate and stuffing is the I ingredients raw combined and are cooked inside the turkey as the bird cooks and then is spooned out and served 👍
I bought Stonewear diner service like that... after 2 payments the company went bankrupt... and all I paid was two payments total... that stuff lasted forever! 1979, when I got married first time in 1981, I cooked on a a two plate solid hotplate, used to use those dishes to keep food warm on that hotplate, just turn the dial off and cover with another dish... So I know what you mean about your pots. They still look good too!
Hidy SB...how are you? Yes I love my pots still...they were certainly worth the monthly payments. Plus its a bit more special to me knowing how much I struggled to make those payments. Praying you are well. Jill
@@ntxg thank you, we are all well... just went down to see my MIL for the first time since the first lockdown. My husband had been to see her a couple of times on his own, but we decided we were all fine and so was she now, so we went and had a slightly later Thanksgiving meal with her. Prayer is very much needed everywhere I think.
Now that's perseverance 30 bucks a month for 2 years kids now wouldn't know how to save 50 bucks for there phone bill but this woman at 22 was making payments on her pan set
@@ntxg it had better be. My hostess is bringing 1 ham and 1 other turkey. A 10 lb turkey at that. I need to make a bucket of gravy, because she's a vegan. Giblets are not her thing.
Stuffing is IN the bird and dressing is OUTSIDE the bird around the plate. It dresses up the main dish. I'm making enough for 50 people, for the church, so it will be boxed. I'll spruce it up.
We add celery, pecans and dried cranberries to our Stove Top stuffing mix. We also use chicken or turkey broth for the liquid. Yum! Hope you have a great weekend. Cheers!

Thank you for watching us! Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
I’m in Canada. Always been dressing to me too!!
❤️
In the U.K. I like our stuffing dry and crispy. With a crunch no soggy stuffing in my house.
Sounds delicious Jenny! 🥰
Thank you. Stay safe. Happy Thanksgiving 😊
Thank you Martha! You be safe lady!
I added the self same stuffing you have to my dumpling recipe(fluffy dumplings) ... took a little longer, but were rather good.
Nanny Ethel(hubby's grandmother who lived till 103!) supervised the family dressing... and always wanted "More Sage!"
LOL...Sage is the dressing/Stuffing ingredient isn't it gal! You may have to share that recipe with me Lady. Hugs Jill
I will have to ask MIL for that recipe... its a memory we savor each year... Nanny in her wheelchair ultimately... sitting at the stove with her daughter(herself in her late 60s) offering Nanny the spoon to taste test, and then smacking her lips a little saying .. mmm.. more sage! lol
I make cornbread dressing every year.
Labor of Love FN....most certainly! What a blessing you are to your family~
Remember farberware. I still have 2 pots and lids from old set and a small gravy pot bought 3 years ago. Those things last.
Love it!
My revere ware is 61 years old and I'm still cooking with it.
I add mashed potato, celery and extra spices. Moist and delicious
Yum! ❤️
Wish I could get away with making stove top but my husband doesn't like it and will refuse to eat it lol so thanks giving its always homemade dressing
Awe but homemade is the primo! You go girl❤️
At least 3, but probably 4❤️
I add butter , celery , onion , cook it in chicken broth
I add extra dried bread cubes, and sautéed onion and celery and I use chicken or Turkey stock. Oh and a bit extra poultry seasoning.
Hi LNH...super yum gal!
I bake my cornbread early in the week and make from scratch. I have tried the stuffing mixes, but they all have onions, which I am allergic to.
Dressing is also good if you make it up completely and freeze it before cooking it. Then it doesn't take so long for Thanksgiving meal.
Great idea Grace! Whenever I muster up the energy do make it homemade I will give your method a shot! Blessings, Jill
Looks good ! Happy Thanksgiving!
@@ntxg awww.. you met Casey!!! 🥰 such an awesome trip he had! Very special to know we have that connection! Bless you all! Xx
It is and we do! Feel like you're family gal!
@@ntxg thank you so much xxxx
I live about 17 miles from where your revere ware was made if it's a quality set made in Clinton Illinois. I'm building up my pans again after my ex-husband took half of them. I hate every other pan I own compared to my revere ware
Thank you for this video! Never made stuffing before but this looks easy enough!! And delicious. How many boxes would you suggest for 14 people?
At least 5 gal! Maybe 6❤️❤️❤️
@@ntxg ok awesome! And I take it you just cook all 5 boxes at the same time just by times the ingredients by 5?
I add chicken broth, celery, onions, cashews, and sun dried cranberries!🙂
Ohhh I’ll have to try that too! Thank you!
You can use any you like gal!
Just for thought love you recipe but dressing is in a pot or baking dish made separate and stuffing is the I ingredients raw combined and are cooked inside the turkey as the bird cooks and then is spooned out and served 👍
I cut some apples up and put it in the stuffing to
I bought Stonewear diner service like that... after 2 payments the company went bankrupt... and all I paid was two payments total... that stuff lasted forever!
I think so too SB. Glad you were able to visit. Praying for the rest of the Holidays.
Would it help to add the Stove Top packet from the box?
Never mind! There is no packet! Looking forward to your recipe for Thxgvg 2023!
Oh I do!
Now that's perseverance 30 bucks a month for 2 years kids now wouldn't know how to save 50 bucks for there phone bill but this woman at 22 was making payments on her pan set
Can you let me know what size pan please. Peace to you and yours🌹
You can use any size that will hold the amount your making. Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for replying. Very much appreciate. Peace to you and yours. May your Thanksgiving be with joy and memories🌹
U could. Use. Stuffing mix. In your. Meatloaf
Love your channel and your greenhouse. Bless you woman of God! :)
God bless you lady...so glad you watch....thank you heaps. Hugs! Jill
Hi there! Thanks for your video. I have one question, what if you don’t have an oven to bake it? Would the taste be the same on just the stove?
Yes it sure will. Cook your veggies a little longer to soften them up. Cover with foil and let sit ❤️
@@ntxg oh thank you and advance happy thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Can I add two boxes of cornbread mix in one pot
Yes!
I add corn bread more celery and onions sage
Funny. I had a Fingerhut account too, in my twenties! :)
Weren't they great Jeanette! Gosh when you don't make much you could still get great things for your household!
@@ntxg Yes! :)
I miss them!!! LOL...it was always such a feeling of accomplishment when I paid something off and it was mine.
@@ntxg Right! :)
What do you eat this with?
Anything but mainly poultry
I always add the garbage can lid on top of the store boxed dressing 🤷♀️.
YUM-O!
It is delish gal! Thank you beautiful gal for watching!
@@ntxg You're welcome! Glad I found someone I can relate to and will share with others too. Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.:)
Happy Thanksgiving to you beautiful lady. Be blessed and safe.
@@ntxg Thank you woman of God! Blessings! :)
👍❤️
You can sleep when you get old, make that family some real cornbread dressing. LoL. I guess it's better than a cough drop. LoL. Just couldn't resist.
Too funny....I will make it someday Okie...just not this year...LOLOLOL
We're having a pot luck bash at the yacht club, not really fancy, for 35-50 people. I'm bringing a turkey.
I am sure you will make a fabulous turkey!
@@ntxg it had better be. My hostess is bringing 1 ham and 1 other turkey. A 10 lb turkey at that. I need to make a bucket of gravy, because she's a vegan. Giblets are not her thing.
LOL...but I love my giblets in the gravy! I have a quick recipe for that too!
Sorry May God Bless you !
Radishes, shredded for flavor, not to many
OHHHHH Great idea GC! Thank you! Jill
Stuffing is IN the bird and dressing is OUTSIDE the bird around the plate. It dresses up the main dish. I'm making enough for 50 people, for the church, so it will be boxed. I'll spruce it up.
LOL...thanks for the reminder! You be blessed, P! Jill
can I use carrots instead of celery.
You sure can! I bet it will be delish!
