Not true. I'm from NY but currently live in the south. Yes, my family does use "cream of something" in our dressing. Sometimes chicken sometimes celery sometimes mushroom. Whatever we have on hand 😊 The only difference is we boil a hen (chicken), shred the meat and use the broth from it. This looks delicious!! I love your channel!! I can cook but love learning different ways of preparing stuff. God bless you Jay!!

If everyone watching knows better, why are they watching? Or better yet, start your own health focused cooking channel. Goodness, if you don't like the recipe change it, but I don't know that anyone needs to change their recipes to suit your tastes. Do that for yourself in your own kitchen. We never used sugar in cornbread either but i can watch this video and know I can make it without the sugar since that's my preference. I don't actually want to see him change anything because I enjoy seeing the variations on a lot of regular soul food/southern dishes.

  • @conishkee

9/20/22: I made this today and it came out absolutely wonderful, flavor galore! The only thing I did different was to add 1/2 cup of sugar instead of 1 full cup, which gave it a nice flavor, but next time I would opt to add 1/4 cup and that's it. I also think I would only add 2 cans of cream chicken soup as opposed to 3. It was extremely moist, as you said it would be, but IMO, it didn't need a third can. It was a bit too moist for my liking considering everything else that was in it (e.g., the celery soup, the butter, buttermilk, etc.). I also used a full green bell pepper, not half. Overall, it is a good dressing, and I definitely will be making it again with the modifications. Thank you for taking the time to post this recipe. I learned a lot from it.

baby!! oooowweeee! that looks AMAZING!!! i have lived in the south my whole life but no one has ever made anything close to you. i love to cook for my family but after many fails i gave up and used stove top stuffing. every stuffing my big family ever made could be cut in bricks. i cant wait to make this!!! you did a great job showing and explaining everything as well. i felt like i was almost in your kitchen with you. i am a new subscriber as of today, just from this recipe alone. cant wait to see more. if you dont have a recipe for collard greens, mustard greens, whatever... please make one, i am a "greens" virgin and i think your recipe is just what i need to feel confident enough to make and try! BLESS YOU and i hope you have a great, loving time this holiday season.

I have been making his stuffing recipe for 2 yrs now. His recipe for stuffing is by far the BEST. Every time I make it people love it and ask for the recipe. I visited my mom 2 weeks ago and I made her this cornbread stuffing to freeze so that she can eat it whenever she have a taste for it being that we live far apart.

I used this recipe last year when I cooked my first Thanks Giving dinner, I just have to cut back on the sugar, other than that it was good and I will do it again for this year. The turkey recipe from last year I also use that one again. Thanks PBJ for making my first TG meal a success.

I know my family was like...what the hell is this? lol...so I'm going to give this a try and hopefully have better results. Please....please don't delete this ever! I need to make up for the mess I made. Keep up the good work! Peace & Blessings
