Mam, I am a 63 year old man on my own after a lifetime of having a great wife and a great cook. So cooking was not my strong point needless to say. But I followed your recipe to a tee and look at me; I'm a cook! The roast melted in my mouth and was delicious. You helped a lonely man feel like he was a tv chef. Thank you dear, you're as good a teacher as I'm sure you are a good person. Thank you so much!

I tried this recipe and it was truly amazing. The roast flavor was through the roof! The only note is that the carrots take longer to cook than potatoes so you may want to boil your carrots for 15 to 20 minutes before adding along with the potatoes. Prepared my roast with smoked turkey collard greens and cornbread. There were no leftovers. :)

My mother has always prepped and made her pot roasts just like this. Even though we are all adults now, she still cooks as though we are all still at home! On Sundays, she still makes pot roast, baked chicken, etc. and she always "finds" someone or a "group" to eat it. This video reminds me so much of my mother and her warm kitchen that is filled with lessons, love and some good home cookin!

This video came right on time i usually don’t ask my husband what he wants for dinner but yesterday I was out of ideas and sick of looking for recipes he says how about a roast so I not being a fan of oven cooking and warm weather was slightly reluctant but all of a sudden I had a strong want and craving for roast thank God for this videoBecause I had never made a roast before and the step-by-step easy instructions were perfect for somebody like me I really appreciate you showing us how to cook without people like you I would be lost in the kitchen so for all of us I say thank you

She gave me original grandma vibes when we still had real grandmas in the 90’s ❤. I love this recipe, I use it for Sunday dinner. This is a meal that definitely brings people together. I enjoy being able to learn ol skool southern recipes. She cooks with love ❤ !!

I haven't got a clue what corn bread is, but my goodness, you're fabulous Darling. REAL home cooked food. I imagine you'd have friends and family travelling for miles for your dinners. You're very likeable and I love how you explain everything and I was soooo pleased you used PROPER ceramic plates to eat off. A fabulous meal like that does not deserve paper plates! Nice one Sweetheart, I'm off to look at your other videos.xx

Just finished mine. Came out delicious and tender. Follow her instructions and you can't go wrong.
After adding the vegetables at the 2hr mark I cooked it for another hour and about 15 minutes. Lil over 5lbs of roast.
