Gorgeous footage. When Scott said “1200 grains of powder” I laughed out loud. What an amazing piece that thing is.
He used even more than that for the last shot, a full quarter pound. The impact it made on the dummy, and the way it just sprayed out radially like that, almost reminded me of a hypervelocity impact test, like a ball bearing hitting steel at Mach 6.
You should make a video on why these objects have that flash of light! Love your videos Dustin.

Before the punt gun was turned on waterfowl, it was used on passenger pigeons. While not the sole culprit, it's pretty widely accepted it was this gun that finished off the species.

My dad fired a 2 Guage punt gun out of a Sears aluminum boat in the 1960's. He fired directly off the starboard side. Took out 6 ducks and the boat he was in. Recoil stove in the side of the rowboat 😂
On days not good for duck hunting (clear, calm, & dry) my Dad would drop by the Game Warden station, old punt guns were hung on the wall. It seemed they were as big as your arm and the warden told me hunters would use nails as shot.

Please do a slow-mo of strumming and picking different types of guitar strings (steel and nylon). I would love to see how the strings behave in slow-mo. Breaking them could also get some cool shots.
thats actually a pretty novel idea, not only would they look neat vibrating but when the strings break they whip so quickly and violently Ive almost lost an eye
@yungoldman2823 I know that feeling. Ever since my first ever time breaking the thin e string while tuning the guitar, my face has never been closer than three feet to the soundhole
Drums would cool too but probably more difficult to capture.
Someone asked about this at RTX a few years back, they said they tried it but the results weren't very interesting. It was basicly just the string moving up and down slowly.
There's a decent video of exactly that already on RUclips, featuring Kirk Hammet of Metallica.
It's not THIS level of slow-mo, but it's pretty cool anyway.
