Mr. AB, I want to thank you for this tutorial on this amazing pot recipe. My fiancé tried to order some pot roast yesterday from a restaurant and they did not have any. Today I discovered you on RUclips and I took down the ingredients and viewed you teaching as I prepared it. When he got home from work, he said, “ What is smelling so good?” I told him that I made him pot roast because he wanted some on yesterday. He was elated and couldn’t wait to get out of his work clothes so that he could dig into the pot roast. He loved it!!!!! Again, I really want to thank you so very much for your tutorial. Because you really are a teacher, and I would like for you to know that you have a new student. God bless you, your family and your business. Numbers 6:24-26.
I got my little nephews to help me cut up the vegetables and we made it for Christmas. Everybody loved it 🔥🔥🔥 This channel is a blessing for sure. Keep up the great work my brother!
I can't trust many chefs or recipes on RUclips. But time and time again, this channel never fails me. Please don't fault me for this, you can hear it in his neck and voice that he eats so good. It's comforting to me that I can trust any recipe he's got. Please forgive me for pretty much calling him a big back.
Thank you. My grandmother made pot roast on a pan in the oven. She did not shred it but it fell apart wonderfully. That was many years ago but brings back memories of her.
This is the first recipe of yours I made. I'm usually a basic guy, but you were spot on. The flavor profiles were fantastic! the Level Up seasonings were perfect. Thank you so much for inspiring me to cook something my wife loves! Looking forward to more experiences like this one! Oh, and great to see another resident from Riverside. We moved from there in '16 for Vegas! Thank you, again!
This is a winner! I added cumin and celery seed to the roast seasoning. I also added Worcestershire sauce to the beef stock and better than broth enhancer. I also cut up 2 tbsps of butter and dotted it on the top. Lastly I added about a 1.5 tips of pepperocini juice and 2 cut up pepperocini peppers. These ingredients are what I would use for a Mississippi pot roast. Your technique is amazing!
Mine literally just decided to do so today! It was my idea too and they’re lucky I found this video because they’re about to be mind blown and so will I! Can’t wait to try this in a couple months 😊
Nailed it... I think you just made one of the best pot roasts, if not "The Best" I have ever seen done. The way that slow cooked beef looked when it was shredded and presented with the colorful veggies and rich looking gravy just made my mouth water. Better than mine and I think better than my momma's, and Her's has always been my favorite, bless her soul. Great job !
Great recipe! Could have heated the beef broth up in the same cast iron you used to sear the roast. That way you can deglaze the pan and save that delicious frond on the bottom. Plus you avoid using another pan.
I loooove coming to rewatch his recipes. He has such a soothing dad voice you just feel like you’re listening to dad give you the secret recipes and make you feel like you got this lol. 👏🏽👏🏽✊🏽🙌🏽
Chef!!!! My fiance and I want to say thank you! I'm a chef in Maryland and was going through it when coming up with a name and concept for my restaurant. I do not eat pork but made your gumbo using chicken and in that moment I grabbed my notebook and wrote a menu and name within 10 min! That gumbo spoke to my SOUL! Thank you brotha! Once we get the legal fun stuff over with after the holidays I will let you know! You changed our whole life over a pot of gumbo inspired by you! God bless you and your family
AB, first of all, I made your candied yams (out of control!) for Thanksgiving & the hostess can’t stop talking about it. Now, I just got told today to make pot roast for Christmas Eve & I’m making this !!!
Delirious. I followed your recipe/instructions. Man, jackpot ! Cooked 5hrs 30 mins. Veggies little softer and less firm than I wanted, but still mouthwatering ! This is my first time so. Thx AB !
It never fails--I just finished what I thought was a great meal, and then your video posts! Now you have my mouth watering and wishing I was there with you, tearing into another one of your masterpieces. You asked for suggestions on how to level this up: eat it while its hot with a nice batch of freshly baked dinner rolls slathered in butter, 'cause you can't level up the dish itself! AB, you are the best! Thanks for making this look so easy.
My daughter made a beef roast in her crockpot for our Christmas dinner. Pretty much the same “recipe”. Hers was delicious! And she made mashed potatoes and gravy, as well.🥰
I’ve watched you’re videos so long I feel like we family now 😂 Never stop doing what you doing you always take these recipes “over the top” and we here for it
Great recipe. Very similar to how my Mom taught me years ago. They only thing I do differently is that I coat my roast in flour prior to searing it and I use half bullion and half red wine for a little extra flavor.
sounds good with the red wine. I use it for steak, so Im sure it'll go good with this. What's the reason for coating roast in flour b4 searing it? Ive never heard that before
@@MyZ001 the flour kinda omits the need for the cornstarch slurry. As the roast cooks up, the flour breading actually thickens up the gravy as it cooks 👍🏾
Thank you!!!!! I made this and my husband loved it. He doesn’t like red onions so I used garlic instead. Served with some rice, string beans, and cornbread and it was like Sunday dinner at my grandmothers house. I now a subscriber
Cheers from Nebraska AB! I lived inRiverside for 10 years. I miss the old town there. Loved it. Loved the people. The restaurants. The culture. The climate. Everything! Wish I could come home. Glad you're on RUclips to show the food!
Have been enjoying your videos today! Pro tip: while making your gravy after you have incorporated the corn starch and water mixture try adding a few dices of frozen butter...it will make it shimmer and delicious!
~~Lookin' damn good. I do crockpot, before I sear the meat which had been dried&salted the day before. I caramelize the carrots&onions in the pan first. After searing&transferring meat I clean the pan out w/a hot cup of the same beef bouillon. Using two cups total mixed,a pack Lipton Onion soup mix,tsp thyme&do celery like you except whole stalk diced which renders down. As it/these are four of the thirteen my gravy consists of along w/all veggies you use +sweet peas as well. ~~Used green beans once which I like but wasn't the same when, personally,I found the sweet peas simply set everything off. The gravy originally used five ingredients w/the celery being happy accident the first time I made it some five years ago. Omg I can't wait to try that cornstarch slurry in my pot roast!! I can just imagine the thicker consistency packed with flavor would make it so savory 😋

This looks and sounds great! I definitely want to try it. I've typically made mine using red wine, red wine vinegar, and marsala wine including thyme and rosemary. I put mushrooms in mine too and they use paprika and aged Balsamic Vinegar primarily. Then, I prefer to make golden mashed potatoes separately to seep in the juices.
I love a video of guy who you know loves to eat and you know he’s getting super hungry making this great food. My wife is starting a new job and this dad gonna make this recipe wish me luck
Merry Christmas AB! When I make a roast, I use beer instead of water or broth. That's an old trick from pioneer days, since beer is a natural meat tenderizer. It also adds flavor.
The roast looks so delicious and tender!! Another awesome recipe. I thank you for your content. Also top notch. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I pretty much do this but I put it in a crockpot. Also, since going keto, I take out the potatoes and substitute in radishes. They cook up very nicely and are pretty amazing, to be honest.
That looks great. I like to add a versatile vegetable that I feel is often overlooked in the kitchen, especially in conjunction with slow cooked beef: beets. Fresh beets peeled and chopped to the same chunk size as your potatoes and other vegetables adds immense flavor. It also adds a beautiful rich, redness to the broth and gives a good deep sweet balance to the rosemary and tarragon.
Someone showed me in the past how they made their roast but I've used your technique probably for the fourth time that I tried this and it never disappoints thank you so much

I loved this recipe I’m making mine right now! I’m so thankful you taught me how to make a delicious pot roast especially the gravy part! Phenomenal!! 🎉
Thank you for bringing back ole school pot roast. Simplicity is so much tastier. I enjoyed this video so much. Mahalo and Aloha..
That looks so good
Loved the way you made this meal. I will try making it your way. Thank you.
Looks good. I do the same with my meat but I transfer it to my cast iron pot and place it in the oven to finish cooking. Next, I add my vegetables seasoned and add a little flour or cornstarch. Cook for 30 - 45 minutes and serve with buttered rolls or cornbread. I love this channel awesome recipes.
All super heros don't wear capes... the way you simplify these recipes... hats off ahch! 👏
This is next level! I just made this with a roast in the crock pot for 7 hours. The family went crazy! Thank you 🙏🏼
This made me hungry! Looks so amazing! Yummy 😋
That roast looks delicious 🤤 I’m working on it now for Sunday dinner
What a delicious-looking meal you have made. Today I'm making pot roast for the homeless in Philadelphia. It's meals like this that give them the nutrients they need. I have been doing it in my crockpot. Wanted to change it up a little. So I'm going to use your method. I'm excited to see their response. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Looks delicious, can hardly wait to make one, let you know how it comes out.❤👍👍
YUM!!!!!!!! It's May 14, 2024 and I'm on my way to get some ingredients now! Thanks for such good instructions!
