      @@seriessplayer62747 the rich people who own the companies aren't the ones actually doing the work, silly. Sure, companies need leaders to get stuff done in a timely fashion. But why should one person at the top get 99% of the money, when they only did 1% of the work, if that? The ideal behind capitalism is that hard workers should be rewarded but they aren't, because the people who hire them just don't want to. Getting rid of the rich means that they'll need to actually work for their wages like the rest of us. Owning a company doesn't give anybody the right to act like they own people. Everyone who's started a company had to work very hard hours and most of them fail. If a company goes bankrupt the owner loses everything while the employee still recieves their salary regardless. Not every company suceeds, infact most of them fail. If a company decides to sell off to investors their money is at risk too because there isn't any guarantee that they'll make any of it back or they could make a fortune. Our government is what is corrupt because working class people always pay the price for every new tax on the rich, they end up taxing engineers, doctors, mechanics, accountants, retail workers, etc not business owners. If you want something to protest, go protest stupid government spending. This reminds me of an old movie I saw on TV years ago, starring Marilyn Monroe and (I think) Jane Russell. Monroe's character has been dating a son-of-a-rich-man and his father is opposed. Near the end of the movie, she says something intelligent to the guy's father, and Dad says, "I thought you were just marrying my son for his money". Monroe's character answers, "Oh, no, I'm marrying him for YOUR money".

    I live in Ukraine (the non-occupied part) and right now people here are giving their last cents to our army. Adults are donating most of their salaries, teenagers are giving away their allowances, and every day we're creating events to raise donations for the army. We're doing this because we know that if we don't, more people will die and russian tanks will come to us as well.
    A month ago, a famous Ukrainian spokesperson launched a huge campaign to raise money for 3 bayraktars (military planes). Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world were involved. We raised $15mil and reached the goal, which was a huge accomplishment. This guy could have raised that money by himself with a swipe of a finger

    As someone who has been homeless before, his video and those who make videos under the lines of "I decided to become homeless for three days!" is very offensive.
    It still hurts me to this day that people, especially richer people, will judge the homeless for the assumption of being lazy, druggies, drunks, and/or mental unstable. (as if that means they don't deserve help)
    A lot of homeless people are hard workers who got hit with the wrong thing at the wrong time.
    I was a child, who couldn't do anything, the feeling of hopelessness I felt and saw in my caregivers eyes was horrifying.
    These people can't even imagine how cold it is, how it feels for people to purposely drive their car through a puddle to get you wet, to have people curse at you, almost run you over, spit at you just for being in extreme poverty.
    Homelessness has so many layers than people think, it isn't just hard, its impossible to get back on your feet. The only reason I got out of that situation was because of my current caregiver. My family who had money to spare didn't care, nobody cared.
    So men like him piss me off, thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

    I grew up so poor we often didn't have electricity or the money to fix the AC unit so we could not overheat/freeze. The only reason we had a house is because my mom's ex inherited it from his dad. I cannot imagine having the kind of money where that seems like something that's made up. Like, good on you if you've made enough money that you never have to worry about necessities, but there has to be a limit to that. Why is it that the rich feel they deserve the right to pollute the planet, meanwhile poor people are being told food and shelter are not basic necessities? Call me a socialist, but having grown up in pretty extreme poverty helped me realize how incredibly insane the wealth some people have is.

Interesting villains are generally attempting to punch up and are victims of the establishment themselves.
    This guy's a shitty villain because he is just apathetic. He is the establishment. He was born richer than god, he doesn't care to participate in society or understand inequality (and his complicity), and there is no self-criticism. He also has literally no incentive to change. The other half I'm currently spreading out to have any money what so ever, after rent each month. Essentially I use it to let myself eat like a normal human (no take outs tho). I hope it last me long enough that I'm able to work more and by that actually have money over after rent (and in extension become fully independent of my parents, who are still paying for my insurance & phone bill). As a disabled man trying to get disability support; if you get married the government counts your spouse(s) income towards mine; so I'd lose the support.

    Harsh but as a working class citizen who grew up as and still is poor and is also a black trans women, I understand, I’m still young and struggling to know if I can even take the risk of following my dreams because If I’m not lucky I don’t know if I’ll survive, dreams are huge investments, currently I’m working on my education and saving and may end up paying not much at all for college without having to take out loans because I am under a single parent household minority status with a VA parent which is amazing, I don’t get payed for my current job and don’t really have the time or commuting ability to split all my current responsibilities up and work part-time, I can’t transition fully in my environment and buying fem products is super expensive even as a “frugal” person who prefers to save rather than spend, I guess I just have to wait and continue with my education and try to work, hopefully once I gain more legal independence I can be more comfortable and have a bit more freedom, I already am quite independent and although I am very great-full to have a family don’t receive much help or support from them, even typing this I am left alone quite literally by myself babysitting for the weekend no pay

    What would I do with a ridiculous amount of money that I have difficulty even fathoming? Pay off my debt. Improve my situation (I'm slowly planning a move to a less far-right state). This would also improve the lives of my chosen family, as we would move in together. And then ... I dunno. I have no idea how to invest or anything, but that would probably be a good idea with the rest. Then I could live off of, and give off of the investment, perhaps. Depending on what that all looks like, I guess.

    His whole personality is “I work so hard and people only see me for my dads money”. He’s trying to hard to distract people from the fact that he can have any career and he doesn’t need to worry about money because he works hard. Yeah, you work hard but it’s the fact that you don’t need to work hard to get the same that someone working 10x harder than you could get.
    And the job he’s working so hard at is making vlogs. Imagine being able to say “I want to make vlogs for a living” and not having to worry about it working out because you already have millions of dollars. Yes, maybe you are making a living off these vlogs, but you already had a living from your fathers money. You could completely stop working as hard as you say you are and be completely fine.

    Im curious corry, do you think ppl who have 900 mil dollars are evil? 100 or even 50?

    • @stillnotcorry
      @stillnotcorry  2 года назад +13

      it’s not the number that’s evil - it’s the exploitation that gets one to that number that’s evil. outside of (the incredibly unlikely eventualities of) winning the lottery or marrying rich & then divorcing, it’s near enough impossible to reach 1B without abhorrent exploitation, which is why i make such a sweeping statement about billionaires - because it’s a round number that one can comfortably assume was reached purely through exploitation

    • @nanatoto5994
      @nanatoto5994 2 года назад

      @@stillnotcorry what if the billionaire's assets drop? Would they stop being evil? What makes you think someone with 100 mil or 50 has a good chance of getting there without exploitation?

    • @stillnotcorry
      @stillnotcorry  2 года назад +7

      okay - you’re not understanding me, clearly. what about “it’s not about the number” isn’t clear? their assets dropping won’t change the practices they used to gain & maintain those assets in the first place. the number is not the point.
      i do not think that someone with 100M or 50M got there with no exploitation - i think they are likely bad also. we tend not to talk about onehundredmillionaires or fiftymillionaires, though, do we?
      saying that billionaires are evil (an easy statement to make because of the near certainty of exploitation) does not mean that anyone with less wealth than a billionaire is not bad in the same way…

    • @nanatoto5994
      @nanatoto5994 2 года назад

      @@stillnotcorry if a number is a signifier of exploitation why not equate them to evil? It cant be different from evil in ur mind.IDK you tell me why non billionaire richies are not talked about, im not a socialist. Also why would you think billion dollar companies are without benefits? Do you think profits they make strictly would be less than 1b given the product they sell are valuable to a lot of ppl worldwide?(prob in 100s of millions)
