If for example hospitals weren't made to profit and grow capital but rather to actually benefit patients (and not ruin them financially if they're not already rich), healthcare would be safer and more affordable.

    • @sirellyn
      @sirellyn Год назад

@@plantparent6469 Your conclusion is wrong. The for profit hospitals in the US don't allow for competition, that's anti capitalist. As well as insurance restrictions are also anti capitalist.
But look in any place where there's both private and and public hospitals. The private ones are far FAR better.
Singapore, Malaysia (Good and Cheap too), Dubai, Japan, South Korea, even Russia, Estonia, and of all places Cuba. The public hospitals that the actual population has to go to are far worse. Hell even in Canada (where private isn't allowed) people are dying because the wait times are absolutely insane. And that's AFTER the largest funding of healthcare in the history of Canada happened just over a decade ago.
In short most of the "systemic" things are you talking about are simple realities that even communists seem to screw up more than capitalists.

You're projecting hardcore tbh and, at least from what I've seen, Corry picks on very popular people (who literally have money and fans and platform) who are ACTIVELY encouring/building harm and refuse to listen to reason. Even with you he asked a few times to just be real with him cos he is genuinely trying to talk.

  • @DrakeDraco2000

The way this guy keeps on moving toward and away from the camera is so genuinely uncomfortable to watch... though it's probably a form of stimming, or perhaps a motor control disorder like Tourette's, which I guess would make sense with his behavior. Not taking aim at him with that, just noting that it does make this kinda hard to watch and I'm taking breaks throughout.
I do appreciate that Corry is able to calmly (between chuckles of course) turn this guy's reasoning back on him. It's clear from very early that this kid didn't exactly think this through, but had a _strong_ response to something that set him _slightly_ off.
I guess I can respect that he doesn't immediately back down when called on it like most trolls who lose their anonymity, though as Corry points out, he's putting on a tough guy act... complete with the fur hat and shades as a costume (and the name "Prometheus" is probably a pseudonym too) all to maintain a shred of that anonymity.
I do get a vibe from watching this guy that he's doing all this "ironically" -- complete with the desktop background of Corry's picture, which probably is just here for the bit and not for everyday -- but like many irony-poisoned trolls, doesn't realize that he's come full circle to the point of making Corry part of his routine, especially when he acknowledges he doesn't have a lot else going on for himself.
Genuinely confused about him being... upset? for being called Eric Cartman when he literally has a doll of the character on his monitor and basically said he _wanted_ to emulate him. Shouldn't that be high praise in his book? He seems to be at least aware that Cartman is satirical and not meant to be a legitimate role model -- at least aware enough to take offense -- but he's still consciously making the effort to force the comparison.
Good on him for at least acknowledging that he's not educated about some of the topics Corry talks about that he... gets upset over. The true irony is that if he actually *watched* some of Corry's content rather than just getting upset with video titles or the bits he sees on Snapchat stories, he might have more perspective on them to actually be mad about.
The little head tilt during the discussion of trans people shows he actually might be interested in taking a stab at learning some of these things, even from Corry specifically. He's a fascinating case study in how public discourse and disseminated misinformation programs fence-sitters.

This was very educational and interesting. I feel like it might have been worth mentioning from your side that even though you’re not bothered by it it might really hurt other people, especially since he did mention that he didn’t want to hurt you. So I think maybe he just doesn’t realise what kind of effect 'trolls' can have.
But other than that I really just admire how patient you were, I know I would’ve flipped within the first few minutes because I think it’s just really frustrating when people criticise stuff without informing themselves about the topic first, especially when I really care about it or just know how important the topic actually is.
Anyway, I hope he took something away from that conversation and gained a bit of perspective. I can’t really say I understand his point of view much better now except that he seems insecure about the fact that he’s not too educated on some of the stuff you talked about and doesn’t like being confronted with that.

i'm no psychologist not do i know this guy but i feel he gets mad at corry because he has some internal dissonance,, like he does have some type of opinions and preconceived ideas about things, probably what i've seen other conservative people describe as "common sense" (which really just means defending the status quo without trying to question it here), but he doesn't have the education and research to back it up or articulate it and understand why he believes the things that he does.
so when someone comes and deconstructs things he might instinctively realise that it doesn't align with his preconceived notions but because there is no "education" he can use to counter it that's what annoys him, and it's easier to sat "i don't care" so you don't have to argue or have strong points and opinions. plus a lot of the time doing the research kind of means that if you're being intellectually honest you're going to have to change your mind about your unsubstantiated beliefs.
also, i get the feeling that the side of corry that annoys him the most is especially when corry has this stance of knowing the people he disagrees with are saying stupid (or at least easy to argue against) points and so he is amused as well as just explaining why it's wrong, which corry can do precisely because he's educated about the topic. so like maybe he should do some soul searching as to why he gets annoyed like did he agree with the point that got dismissed? does he dislike when people seem educated? like when corry said he was acting like a parody of cartman it feels like he gets upset because he feels he's being laughed at a little?

It inspired me to see that you could be genuinely calm, focused and not affected while still talking to a person who is trying to do "harm" on the internet as a "troll". I think it's very curious and hilarious to see this level of dedication of messaging every month for...some reason. Which I'm not sure the "troll" himself knows on a surface level; still, it was very nice to reflect on it! I'm also very interested in the fact that sure, trolls have different sense of ideas or "goals" depending where they're from and their age / gender / occupation etc, but sometimes it's just a bit pointless to do the "trolling", considering you can just ignore someone you simply don't vibe with. Ngl I think I was scared before of these kind of messages but I've come to the realization there is certainly someone in the other side of the screen who genuinely might not be... very aware of what they're doing until they start to reflect on it. @@Lonely_Raven_666 An objective truth on some topics is just impossible but if you actually care about the argument you can always look out for the manipulative strategies (like choice of words, stricture and rhetoric devices, which you learn about in school (analysis)) to avoid being swayed by those and look out for the actual facts that are presented to base the arguments (like generally numbers, studies or personal experiences) and check if these are made up or not. That’s only really difficult with personal experiences, because those are always subjective, but you can always check how common these experiences are and if the person actually means a personal experience or a hypothetical scenario (that might not be very realistic), one example for those unrealistic hypothetical scenarios is from transphobes saying that trans people being allowed in the correct bathrooms would lead to men dressing up as women to rape women. You can identity that as an unrealistic scenario because there are absolutely no statistics supporting that, in fact, Black trans women are the most marginalised people in the world.
This, of course, gets more difficult to check if it’s a personal situation or debates abou e.g. economy because I’ve learned that it’s pretty easy to show the numbers on a way that supports your argument, without lying or anything, just how you specify an issue can change numbers drastically.

Personally I think he fits more of the tik tok/college/highschool dude bro demographic- with a bit of online troll sprinkled on top, I'd say specifically of the FPS in-game (or Xbox Live) voice chat troll variety. 4chan users tend to be pseudointellectuals; aka the: "No you just don't get it, you're a low IQ normie"- type person.

Well, that was an interesting bit of discourse. Honestly sounds like he thinks trans (and maybe other folks under the rainbow umbrella) are not cool, and talking shit about America isn't cool, so he decided to harass someone for it. I love how he keeps saying he's a troll, he just wants to be a troll. I don't understand haters, I don't understand this guy, and the interesting discourse didn't make me understand them any better. I think he's just a confused kid, wanting some attention.
Stupid babies need the most attention.

Of all the things that were wrong with him, that doesn’t even make the list. A lot of people sway or rock when they’re sitting, I do that just cause I’m neurodivergent.

I keep expecting this guy to up and leave the video call. It’s honestly kinda satisfying to see him sputter and not really have a well formed argument about why he doesn’t like you. It was very entertaining. I’d say that’s like the majority of conservatives here in America. They’re so used to being surrounded by people that agree with them, they’re not exactly sure what to do when people don’t😂
