If I was still into Harry Potter (got so hurt by the TERF shit right after I came out so I just cut it out even tho it was a decade long special interest) I'd be either a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw and I've never figured out which
same boat here mate, the day I got my hair cut & posted my deed poll was the same day I learned about JKR and her TERF stuff. It hurt but I don't think anything could've washed away the sheer euphoria I felt after I got my hair cut & looked in the mirror & saw the reflection looked more like how I always imagined myself to be :) I used to love HP & it got me through some very tough times as a kid, I remember the first time I thought about ending my existence when I was 7 bcus of dysphoria & then I thought about getting a letter to hogwarts & thought best not lol, it sucks feeling betrayed like this tbh & I can't enjoy it anymore bcus of the author's views. I can also see why some ppl still think she did nothing wrong if they don't understand anything about trans stuff & how we're often portrayed in a negative way or as crazy (like the whole 'all she said was that sex is real! thing, as if trans people deny that lol), it just sucks but I hope ur ok & happy new year

If JKR wasn’t a TERF and hogwarts was real and I lived in the UK when i was 11 I would have been a ravenclaw (probably but the way that children are sorted into four groups seems quite messed up and not necessarily congruent to who they will become)
the fact they only posed infront of the sign to show where they where because more people would recognise her address than just a picture of her house. its like the priminister saying he was doxxed cus someone posted a photo of his front door. then JoKe TRowlling decided to play the gender card and be like "stop attacking women" as if people attacking her is attacking women. just infuriates me. if you dont want to be accused of transphobia maybe stay away from terms like "penised individual" and "r*p£" when commenting on laws to protect trans victims of crime.
also how many of these death threats get investigated? because when the terf brigade came from london to plymouth they graffitid a symbol that isnt used by the trans community in plymouth onto one of our buildings and just conveiniently had a fully written press release article about how we where attacking them by spraying symbols that no one here uses (but plenty use in london where they are from). and then no one ever investigated who did it. so how many of these death threats are just terfs trying to show how violent trans people are?
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Harassment, sending threats/death threats people's way and doxxing are not okay and don't solve anything. But you are also spot on with the situation at hand not falling under the category of doxxing for the very reasons you stated.
Even though I may not have been the biggest Harry Potter fan ever Harry Potter was and still is meaningful to me as something that helped me make friends when I didn't really know how else to connect to other people. As such I find it very disheartening that JKR turns out to be such a transphobe.
If that wasn't the case and if the wizarding world was real ... Well, I still wouldn't live in the UK or Ireland. So I wouldn't attend Hogwarts in any case and logically also wouldn't actually belong to any of the houses. That being said, although I have no definitive answer I fancy myself either a Hufflepuff or a Ravenclaw.
Be careful with the title of this video--people will come here thinking you want to defend doxxing and you could end up being harassed by a bunch of idiots who didn't watch your video

What if everybody who didn't agree with your line of thought showed up with signs outside your house, posting your adress. It's creepy as hell. Plus I'd you value your rights to free speech you should probably grow up and realize everyone's mouth isn't yours to own. It's not just about trans people. No matter who you are someone's gonna have an opinion about you that you don't like. And you probably have opinions other people don't like. It's how adult life works.
I get her adress isn't super hard to find but if people wanna protest don't do it at someone's house it's creepy. The only time I ever supported that was in the case of Brock Turner.

i don’t think she did, no. regardless, saying that you “love transgender community” doesn’t mean that subsequent actions & comments can’t be transphobic.
i’m not trans. even if i were, i don’t think that’s a very appropriate response - sounds like a good way to shut down anyone talking about issues that actually affect them, right? you could say this to any group to push them out of conversations about their own issues - leaving the conversation to be had by people who could easily have a bias against them.
