When we were fishing for rock fish in Ft Bragg CA we didnt even need bait. Just dropped the lines and reeled back up to double fish almost every time. We caught 137 crab that day as well. N two Ling. Great fishing in Ft Bragg. Saw some whales too. Looks like y'all had fun!
11:57 caught red tail and yellow tail rock fish back in August 2024, best fish I had eaten yet. Better than the silver salmon we caught

Honestly, there are worse things for the fishery than killing a few rockfish but obviously when you post the video evidence...

The fish you were not sure of was a cabezon. The one Murray caught was a pacific cod. A lingcod would look more like the cabezon just bigger.
