This is a wonderful introduction to Ashtanga. I usually do a Fightmaster Hatha yoga each day but it's nice to mix it up. I like to think I am honoring Lesley's spirit by showing up on my yoga mat each day.
This practice has inspired me to embark on Ashtanga journey. Thank you for the love and inspiration, Lesley. Rest in peace. I am forever grateful to you. You were wonderful. 😭❤🙏
I just discovered Lesley passed away a few weeks ago and I'm so sorry for your loss Duke. I can't imagine what you and your kids are going through right now. I've been struggling with being in shape this year and I committed myself to do yoga every day. When I realized Lesley had passed, I promised myself to go back to you and her first video and start my journey there. Thinking of her light and spirit every day will be such an honor for me.
Sad to know of Leslie's passing . I've been using her video for my daily yoga practice for years. Thank you for the inspiration, Leslie. May you rejoice in God's kingdom. 🙏🏻🎈
This is the first video that got me into practicing with Lesley. Thank you so much Lesley for your amazing offerings and how you have impacted my practice. You will be missed greatly. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
Rest easy Leslie. I have done this yoga video and another longer Ashtanga video of yours off and on for many years. I'm just coming back to my practice now after having a baby. Sad to hear of your passing, thank you for everything you did and everyone you inspired.
I started this class after I finished the 90 days because I love ashtanga yoga! The Sanskrit was also a bit confusing for me at the beginning, but because I knew most of the poses I could manage it! Bit I did like the quite music behind, very relaxing! Thanks for this nice short class!
I wanted to write to thank you for your video, it has been one of the greatest tools to combat anxiety, to balance myself and to link my spirit to my body. Sometimes daily, sometimes years apart, but a constant. I discover now of your passing. May you rest in peace, thank you for giving me so much peace. I send you all my love, and wish you happiness wherever you may be. Thank you and bless your spirit.
I love this sequence! Half an hour is perfect and there is still a headstand at the end. But the sound of the video seems damaged. Am I the only one to get this? Sound is getting up and down and on and off at the end...
Ah, I was wondering if it was just me! I LOVE this video so much, it's at a perfect level for me and the timing is great. I have to remember to turn off the sound before entering shavasana or the music loudly cuts in twice for only a few seconds. Really wish that wasn't the case but still love this video!
I remember finding this video YEARS ago and not being able to keep up. I was a yoga baby then. I hadn't really known the practice yet. A few years later and with a regular practice, I re-opened it, and different feelings arise. Maybe not the best ones for yoga. I feel pride and accomplishment nonetheless. Thank you for sharing your practice with us. I enjoyed this video much more now today, and will probably enjoy it even more in a month or a year's time.
+Sunny Sol thank you very much for your message. I think it's wonderful to be able to feel the changes in our bodies from our regular practice. Keep up the good work!! xx
That was good. Working up to the 90 day challenge again. Planning is everything until habit means you can do it anywhere. And without injury. Thanks again.
Thank you Thomas! I know that teaching is wonderful but it's also so nice to have our own practices as teachers! I'm so honored that you choose to practice with me!
I just found out that Leslie had left us about a year ago. And I only found this video a couple of days ago. Thank you Leslie, even though you have moved on along the eternal path, having completed your Earthly task, your love and care stays with us. Now I will think of you every time I get on my yoga mat. And I promise that I will do this practice in your honour every day for at least one month. Let this become my little gesture of gratitude to you. May God bless your family, all your friends and loved ones, and may He guide of you on your further journey as you had guided us. Thank you, Leslie.
I have searched so many yoga videos here on youtube and I didnt find any, that would suit me. And then I found your videos! Thank You for the quality. From now on, I will do every one of them!
Thank you for leaving this video. 💖 I am grateful for your voice and presence. Sending you my gratitude and kindness to the other side. Forever grateful.
very much enjoyed this practice. I say this after a year of all your other workouts. A year ago Ashtanga practice seemed just too difficult for me, now I enjoy the five breath holding the asana. Thank you.
Hi trefot2005, because of your neck surgery, I recommend skipping the shoulder stand and headstand. For the shoulder stand, keep your low back and hips on the floor and lift your legs (you can also put your legs against a wall this way, called viparita karani pose). There are many of the same good benefits to practicing this pose instead of shoulder stand. For headstand, you can clasp your hands, forearms on the floor, shoulders no wider than the elbows, take dolphin pose with head off the floor
really good but at 30:00 an youtube ad started so i got a little frustated..great class.. have not been doing yoga for 2 years and now I did and my body feels really good now. Will repeat this one. Thank you very much!
ahopelto I'm so sorry. I know....we don't have any control over the RUclips ads on this one because we put music on it. It's the first one we did, so we didn't know about the copyright issues. Now RUclips can put as many ads on it as they want :-( We considered taking it down...we might still do so if there are lots of complaints about the ads.
Fightmaster Yoga I was so upset and worried about the ads. I absolutely love doing this class during travel and the ads really kill the vibe. Will ads be added to any of the other videos?
Just what i was looking for, simple and traditional and not too long a routine. I used to do 90min classes years ago but fitting this in as a busy mum is actually manageable. Thank you
Wonderful practice - thank you! One thing that was a challenge was following the flow of the breath and the pace of the practice. Without hearing your breathing, I found myself often getting caught halfway through a breath as you moved on.
This Ashtanga 30min intro and a couple other of your 2012~2015 beginner videos have been my go to Yoga workouts for a few months now. They fit my pace, athletic ability, timeframe, breathing rhythm, and expectations of benefits. I haven't mastered the Crow and Headstand, but there's still enough I can do to make my body feel stronger, more flexible and rejuvenated. I wish I'd been doing this for years. Thank you for making Yoga practice so accessible.
The yoga episode was excellent. I am a beginner and followed the 1st 15 minutes and hope to follow the full episode later. Thank you so much for sharing.
Still my all time favorite, efficient and challenging go-to beginner Yoga practice. I like the tranquil studio and audio instruction and even the music interruptions are more like friendly indicators for where I am in the workout. It's all good.
Thank you for another beautiful class Lesley. The flow and hearing the Sanskrit really brought something special together. Have a lovely day. Namaste xxx
I really like this class, especially since it's a bit more fast-paced, but all of your videos have been immense so far. I need to modify them a bit right now, because I'm 14 weeks pregnant, but I prefer them over other prenatal yoga videos I've found on youtube, as I'm still able to follow yours quite well!
This is such a fantastic video. I'm American but I live in Korea and take yoga classes in Korean. I love my Ashtanga class, but I can't take classes at the studio right now, so this is a welcome substitute for at home practice! I also love the Sanskrit. It reminds me of my classes in all Korean, which has become very relaxing for me. Yoga videos with too much English get really distracting and take away from my inner focus. So thank you Lesley!!! Please keep'em coming!
I started a yoga class 3 months ago and now that I have found your videos I can practice at home more easily! Love your channel :) There is still such a long way to go but I see progress which is very encouraging... Yoga is changing my body and my mind! Thank you :)
+Andy Longhena I am SO sorry...I don't know why there are ads in the middle of this class. We didn't put them in and have asked RUclips to take them out and I haven't...
+Fightmaster Yoga hey ,if anyone else is searching for trying to find out yoga fitness routine try Jadonite Yoga Fitness Buddy (just google it ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my buddy got cool results with it.
+Fightmaster Yoga hi everyone ,if anyone else is searching for needs to find out about yoga workout programs try Jadonite Yoga Fitness Buddy (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my m8 got cool results with it.
Fightmaster Yoga As a beginner, it's very difficult to follow with lack of clear description, foreign words, and not being able to see the screen while performing.
Hi there what a great class this was after doing all of your other classes I am going to try the Ashtanga I hope you have some more. I am still at it everyday and I have said it before and I will say it again and again but you have changed my life and you are definately my earth angel. Namaste
Hello Leslie. I tried this class again. It felt amazing. I noticed the change in your style of leading a class and I might say that you really did a great job. Thanks for being such a great and devoted teacher! Namaste!
I love all of your videos. I bounced back so quickly and felt myself getting stronger each day. The holiday season was a long one so coming home after work and popping on your videos got me back on track. Thank you so much for your kind words and gentle guidance.
Wonderful video! A few of the previous comments really bother me, though. This is a FREE instruction video which EVERYBODY has access to. Why is it that some people feel entitled to criticise the video on the grounds that it is too [fill in blank] FOR THEM, or that it offers too little [fill in blank] to make it practicable for THEM??? It's beautifully, lovingly done, and it's free! If it doesn't meet YOUR personal needs just move on to a different one; for other people it's perfectly suited! - Thanks, Lesley, for making the video, and for offering it here for free!
I thank you so much for this! I play a rough, full-contact sport and this is just what my body needed to feel better today. I would love to do this every morning before work!
Hi Jessica! I'm so glad you are enjoying the video. You can do it every day if you with, as long as you listen to your body and don't push too hard. I'm hoping to be adding more videos soon, so please subscribe and you'll know when they are released. Namaste! Xo
Thank you Lesley so much ! This the best Yoga workout I have found in RUclips!!! You are doing so smoothly and effortlessly and you have a such a positive energy! It's really inspiring!
I loved the speed! Most other classes are way too slow for me. This was a little complicated for a beginner but it's a great daily practice to try and do until you master the whole thing!
I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it! Yes, this practice definitely moves and it is challenging for a beginner but repetition is the key!! Keep doing your best and you'll have it down in no time. :-)
This is exactly what I needed! I've been trying to do ashtanga on my own on mornings when it's too cold/snowy for running and I can't make it to class. I tried going through the ashtanga practice on my own but really missed the calming voice of my favorite yogi instructor- you're a great substitute!
Lesley, I echo other comments about restoring the original sound to this video. This was the first of your videos that I watched and it remains my favourite. When I repeat the routine I can measure the progress I've made. And there really is something magical about the continuity provided by the music and the way it transitions into the savasana at the end. Thank you.
I have a ton of yoga DVDs, but this is the best intro to ashtanga that I've ever found and done. I'm also working my way through your 90 Day, Lesley, and just wanted to say thank you.
This is a great intro to ashtanga's primary series, with a lot of the more intimidating poses omitted. It's always interesting to see what teachers take out when they're trying to make the practice more accessible to beginners. Janu B for sure! They can learn where that heel goes in the next video....
This is a really great class! The ashtanga sequence is great but i don't like that most classes are over 1hr sometimes nearer 2. This class has all the main postures of ashtanga but in a compact and easy 30min class. Another great video. Thanks fightmaster
Thank you for the video! I have recently started practising Ashtanga but found myself confused in the classes. Your video has been really helpful and calming and I pause when ever I feel the need. Hopefully I will improve!
Jo Smith That's great! You will absolutely improve if you continue to practice. Once you're comfortable with this class, try the 1 hour Ashtanga class too! :-) Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/2wYN1IhnXT4/видео.html
I love this! Both as a concept and the way it was executed. Ashtanga yoga is a vigorous practice, and I feel like this is an honest stepping stone toward introducing students to the full primary series. No form of Ashtanga Yoga can be called "easy", but kudos to you for offering students an access point into the series. -Gabe
Amazing little Ashtanga sequence! I really appreciate, that you used the traditional Mantra as a opener and mind cleanser for the yoga practice. Thank you 🌞
Wow thank you I really enjoy this. I've been looking for something a little more, looking to step up my yoga a little bit, dive into it a little deeper and I felt like this met my needs thanks again.
Thank you so much for this wonderful class. I am slowly reintegrating back into this practice after being absent from it for about 10 years. I am recovering from injuries and your gentleness and reminder to take it slow is really helpful as I am basically starting all over. I have to remember that what I once could do with ease will now take patience and practice. I'll be using this daily, thank you so much. You've made a difference in my life and I'm so very grateful!
Thank you so much for your sweet message, Rebecca. I'm so glad you're back on your mat!! If you want to eventually add more variety to your practice, go to fightmasteryoga.com and click on "Today's Yoga Class" for different classes every day. xoxo
I thought it would be interesting to see your oldest class! I know everyone has been complaining and truthfully I did found this a little fast and I had to keep pausing - but I've been doing your latest videso but I got to see that even you have gotten better at yoga over time and also at teaching too! Progress all round :)
Hey! was a new practice for me, and totally not on that level and was sp quick for me, it felt like a real workout.. really liked your voice too.. If I will get better in yoga I will defiantly come back to your practice!
Thank you so much! I loved the pace and the instructions... I need to practice a lot... Will use this video to train in the series.... Lots of blessings and love, thank you for sharing....
Watching this video again after a long time, convinced me I should try an abbreviated Primary Series again, which I ditched a long time ago to see "isn't there someting else", so, I might return to Ashtanga for a while.
Hi! I think I have said this before, but I really really loved this video! . :) A class on the complete primary series would be awesome! Thanks again! :)
Hi Rodrigo de la Roza It will take some time for your hips to open up enough for you to get your angle above your thigh muscle in half lotus. Lotus is a very difficult pose. You can work on opening your hips with another hip opening pose like double pigeon. In double pigeon, you set up with your right shin directly on top of your left shin while lining up your right ankle directly above your left knee and your right knee directly above your left ankle. This pose is a great way to open your hips and you can do it in place of lotus as you allow your hips to open over time. I hope this helps! :-)
The addition of background music was very pleasant, thank you :) It would be greatly appreciated to see more videos with music, or even a music option for those who like to play there own at home. I know you do so much for us, but I truly did enjoy it, as it is hard for myself to play music at home while watching your lessons.
I am so used to you waking me back up from my Savasana and then I realized this video was over after I had been there laying for far too long. It was funny! Great video, loved the music. Made it feel more spiritual and less like a workout.
Thank you again for another great video. My four year old did this whole video with me with only a few pauses to drink his smoothie and eat a plum, Hehehe! :) Namaste
***** Oh, that would be amazing! Which videos would you recommend to tighten up those mommy ab muscles? They have been really weak since I had my youngest.
Thank you for sharing this. I have been out of practice with Ashtanga for a long time so this was really good basics to get back into it. It would be awesome if you can post an hour long Ashtanga series :).
***** Hi Lesley, thank you for making this video. I did this practice in the morning since I attended some beginner ashtanga classes in the past. It wasn't easy to follow some poses and I'm nowhere near making the transitions but following your advice to stop when necessary worked and I enjoyed the class. It made me sweat too, the breathing really heats the body up. I hope it is ok that I used a yoga strap for some poses. The only problem I had was that by the end of the class my lower back was hurting and got stiff, essentially this is why I stopped the ashtanga classes in the past. I will do your evening yoga class later, hopefully that will help. Would you consider filming an ashtanga class that breaks down the sequence, so beginners can understand and do this practice? Thank you for your loving practice. Namaste

Omg i didn't know she passed away! So sad 😔.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her.
What a great way to honor Lesley, Mitchell, with this new comment. Thank you.
Rest easy Leslie. I have done this yoga video and another longer Ashtanga video of yours off and on for many years. I'm just coming back to my practice now after having a baby. Sad to hear of your passing, thank you for everything you did and everyone you inspired.
I love coming back to this class. Lesley, you've inspired me to step on a yoga path. Forever in my heart!❤
yesterday i did six minutes... today i did 20... tomorrow i'm going for the whole video! thank you (:
Jasmin Patricia Awesome!!!! i love that you're continuing to add more each day! :-)
Same! I have done only hatha beginner before, but I need this faster pace, and I love the sanskrit actually. Today 22, tomorrow I will also finish it!
I don't feel like she's no more... She's always inspiring
I started this class after I finished the 90 days because I love ashtanga yoga! The Sanskrit was also a bit confusing for me at the beginning, but because I knew most of the poses I could manage it! Bit I did like the quite music behind, very relaxing! Thanks for this nice short class!

I love this sequence! Half an hour is perfect and there is still a headstand at the end. But the sound of the video seems damaged. Am I the only one to get this? Sound is getting up and down and on and off at the end...
No the sound is wrong for the music at the end it cuts in and out 😊
yes.. the sound went off and on.. that was a bit annoying, but she probably fixed it in her other videos
Ah, I was wondering if it was just me! I LOVE this video so much, it's at a perfect level for me and the timing is great. I have to remember to turn off the sound before entering shavasana or the music loudly cuts in twice for only a few seconds. Really wish that wasn't the case but still love this video!

Thank you for another beautiful class Lesley. The flow and hearing the Sanskrit really brought something special together. Have a lovely day. Namaste xxx

That's how feedback works. Specifically though, I feel clickbaited by the use of the word "intro".
I enjoyed this into class, I didn't feel that this pace was too fast.
Thanks for sharing this with us Lesley.

Lesley it was my first yoga class after 1 year break. Thank you so much! I love yoga again :)
I have a ton of yoga DVDs, but this is the best intro to ashtanga that I've ever found and done. I'm also working my way through your 90 Day, Lesley, and just wanted to say thank you.
I am so impressed with depth and tremendous love with which the astanga yoga is taught God bless you
This is a great intro to ashtanga's primary series, with a lot of the more intimidating poses omitted. It's always interesting to see what teachers take out when they're trying to make the practice more accessible to beginners. Janu B for sure! They can learn where that heel goes in the next video....
Thank you so much for this video! I have been looking for something like to practice to at home!!

This is the best primary series video i have seen. Thank you.
Amazing little Ashtanga sequence! I really appreciate, that you used the traditional Mantra as a opener and mind cleanser for the yoga practice. Thank you 🌞
Thank you for your comment Lauren. We just finished filming a new video so it should be up soon! :-)
Thank you. This very short but complete.
Thank you so much! This class is perfect for getting back into Ashtanga.
This is a great challenging sequence!!
Wow thank you I really enjoy this. I've been looking for something a little more, looking to step up my yoga a little bit, dive into it a little deeper and I felt like this met my needs thanks again.
That was great Lesley 🤗 thanks
fabulous class!!!!!! Can't thank you enough Lesley!!
Great practice ❤
It would be wonderful if the audio is fixed since we hear the lovely voice of Leslie and then it is stopped..and it goes on and off..
I tried your class... Tuff. But will follow again. With Love. T.Y.
Françoise RB Thank you! I'm glad you liked it...it gets easier! :-)
Very challenging for newbies; I aspire to one day do these moves as gracefully as you! Thank you for posting this :)
Today I kept up until the end! I love this class!
Hey! was a new practice for me, and totally not on that level and was sp quick for me, it felt like a real workout.. really liked your voice too.. If I will get better in yoga I will defiantly come back to your practice!
Thank you so much! I loved the pace and the instructions... I need to practice a lot... Will use this video to train in the series.... Lots of blessings and love, thank you for sharing....
+Bibiana Chaparro thank you for watching! xoxoxo
Your ashtanga yoga videos are by far my favorite on RUclips! 😍🌈
That's so nice of you to say! Thank you very much!! xx
The addition of background music was very pleasant, thank you :) It would be greatly appreciated to see more videos with music, or even a music option for those who like to play there own at home. I know you do so much for us, but I truly did enjoy it, as it is hard for myself to play music at home while watching your lessons.
Really great 30 minute practice. Nice level of intensity for an intermediate practitioner. Audio issues are distracting.
I did my first ashtanga yoga workout yesterday, LOVED IT! :D
Hi Lesley, my foot is healed and I am back in the game. ☺️ This is a perfect class after my first week into it. ☺️ I love this intro xxxx
+Debz Roberts Awesome Debz so glad your foot is better :) XOXOXO
This is exactly what I was looking for! All Ashtanga yoga poses in 1 video..perfect! :)

I did this workout this morning and really enjoyed it.Thank you.
+stephenk2514 wonderful!
You are so beautiful and graceful! Thank you for your work!
:) Namaste

Oh, that would be amazing!
Namaste
Did this one again. It was one of the first videos of yours that I found. Love it!!! 💖 Hard to believe it's been 6 years!!!!
Thank you so much Max!! You can make a donation at my fightmasteryoga website. There is a donate button on the site and any donation amount is soooooo appreciated! :-)
I absolutely loved this! I am in awe and inspired to study Ashtanga. Just lovely! Thank you!
Just learning, and this is great. Have donated as a thank you.
Hi Lesley ! Very happy to have found your videos, they're GREAT! Thaaanks from France !
If one day you manage to come to Paris, I would be more than glad to show around my city after all the hours I spent in front of your videos :-).
