I love this practice, one of the few ashtanga shortened practices that actually is energising and not for beginners. The best one I've found. I'd love some more short form practices like this, especially one with the first part of second series. It's so helpful to put a video like this on when you're feeling a bit demotivated for self practice. Thank you both.
Thank you! I really like this practice! I just started with Astanga , did and do other yoga, and this class was really great. I am working on the jumpthrough, and some other things, a reversed standing pose. I really like Astanga, l just found out! With gratidude!
Your instructions and guidance through the entire video is just perfect. Thank you❤ Love the fast pace shorter version you have for busy days, they are hard to find! Would be really, really happy if you made a similar version but with only one of the a-d versions of the asanas. Then you could go through the entire primary series in probably 45 minutes - it would be so amazing!
Hi, thanks for this practice! Question - I’ve started practicing without your videos a few times, and my breathing is SO much slower than this pace. Now I realize that I only usually do 3 breaths max while you count to 5. Should I be speeding up my breathing and how? My home mysore experiment takes me forever just to get through the fundamental asanas. Thank you!
I am loving this video and I do it almost every day as I’m building stamina. Would love a 45 min practice to bridge between this and the half primary series! Thank you for your excellent content! Your cues are so helpful.
Yes i totally agree! Best 30 minute one i've found. I would also love a 45 minute practise to progress to before the 1 hour practise. Thank you for your wonderful and joy-filled work!
Wow @davidandjelenayoga This is exquisite! Finally a well paced 30 min Ashtanga practice! Expertly AND perfectly cued while beautifully AND precisely demonstrated. What a resource and service. Namaste and many thanks!🙏💙
Wow that sure woke me up! Great tips for someone on the edges of Ashtanga wanting to learn more. Surprisingly it was easier for me to follow some instructions and synch breaths at this speed than when slower, but I had to pause the video to get into a few of the more difficult postures. Thank you!
This was perfect! It's been a few years since I've done a proper ashtanga practice and this reminded me why I love this kind of yoga. The time flew by, no room for stray thoughts! Sending much gratitude 🙏
This was a great practice in 30 minutes! Could you do one that includes some strengthening exercises that help you train to do the leg lifts or to lift your whole body while in full lotus? I’m terrible with those 😅
Thank you very Much Guys ! You have helped me to reconnect with the practice atfer a long break. Your queues and the level of precision of your instructions takes it to another level ! With deep gratitude. Pranams. NB: my 5 years old son walked into the room and told me "je l'aime bien la madame, elle est belle" meaning " I like that lady very much, she is beautiful" :)
So good! So happy you made a video like this! 🙏 Could you do a second express practice with some closing sequence postures and less standing ? That would be awesome! Thank you for your videos!!! ❤
This video helped me because I am a mom and I am out of shape. It gave me the sense of accomplishing at least 1 thing for my selfcare during the day 🎉❤😅 THANK YOU
This is the perfect top-up in a busy day where an hour or more just isn't possible. The edit of the Asanas is balanced so that the whole body still feels invigorated.
I have been doing this short practice for 3 weeks after 3 years of doing cero practice. At the begining it was so hard 😅. With the help of the magnésium chlorure and persistence I am doing so much better! Thanks ❤🎉
Dear Dave and Jelena, tha k you for this energising and spiritual practice. It was a beautiful experience to have the opening and closing chant, that helped me to be present for the exercises. It really made my day and I'm definitely coming back to this video 🎉
wooooow I loved it ! 😍 thank you ! edit: I came back to add that I really loved this. at first I thought it was going to be too fast, but I modify for myself in ashtanga practice. I'll sometimes do Childs pose instead of downward dog, for example. I loved that the pace was so fast I didn't have time to think or doubt my positions. your cues were quick, to the point, and helpful. It really got me into my body and made me move with confidence! one thing I really miss in the short forms is headstanding! nobody includes them in their short forms. I think it is so good to include because it's so very rare to have occasions to put all that weight on top of the head. it is also very energizing. i usually do one myself after the video or pause the video. if you make another quick version, please consider including a brief headstand! or even matsiasana, as it has some weight on the crown. ❤ I appreciate you both so much. thank you so much for this, it really made my day and it will be a practice I suspect I will return to often!
So refreshing… first I thought the breath counting was a bit “express”.. then it came to me that I shall appreciate the counting when it comes to padangusth 🤩🤩 thank you both!
I have been doing the beginning class with you all for 3 days. I would love a slooow breakdown of the half primary. I plan to practice it for 5 years once I learn it before moving on lol
I really like both your version of ashtanga half primary as well as this shorter express version. The counting and instruction are really clear. I enjoyed it.
Powerful short practice! I would like to know more about integrating the Bandhas with breath. I believe you activate them on the breath in? Thanks again Davis & Jelena!!!!
Hi David an Jelena - I don't know any technical terms but do this video regularly- I only manage 30 mins so perfect, however I would love it if you can do another 30 min video with the remaining 30min of your 1hour Astana video. hope it clear . thank you 😊
Thank you Jelena and David! I feel the same with other comments. I am a home practitioner and it gets hard sometimes. With your video I feel fulfilled again after short break from daily practice. A lot of thanks! ❤
Thank you again - I love this video and sequence. I'm 63 and done triathlon and weights most of my life - im quite stiff and my knees are totally shot (not able to kneel or sit on my knees etc)!!! but love this and do it 3-4 times per week. do you have a video for the second part of this sequence I could do on the days I don't do this. Thank you 😊
Lol I thought this would be too spastic but actually it’s fast enough where there is no time for the mind to do it’s ruminating thing about every pose. Just total focus to keep up and quite energizing and uplifting! Thank you both!!
Honestly, this is one of my go-to videos. Makes it possible to squeeze in a short pratice any time, while still delivering the intensity to not lose momentum with the usual practice! Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this video - I have been using it a lot and because I have been so intimidated by Ashtanga for so long, this is a great way for me to begin this style of practice. I would love to learn more about the bandhas - would you please consider making a video explaining the concept and how to use it? Namaste

Agree, would love that!

Thank you very much for this practice! Short but intensive. Will practice it!

Thanks, exactly what I was looking for!
This was perfect! It's been a few years since I've done a proper ashtanga practice and this reminded me why I love this kind of yoga. The time flew by, no room for stray thoughts! Sending much gratitude 🙏
Thank you so much!!! Loved this. If you had a 30 min intermediate that’d be amazing!!!
You're very welcome :) We'll add that to the list for upcoming videos!
Yes to a 30 minute Intermediate! Would love that! ❤
Grateful for this practice - short, sweet and still challenging! Namaste
Thank you for the abridged version. Sometimes you don’t have time for full series ❤❤❤
i am challenging myself to a daily ashtanga practice for 30 days! this is day 3- thank you! :)
Did you make the 30 day challenge?
Not for the beginers, but you can still enjoy. Worth the ride. Amazing session.
Namasté 🙏🏽
This was a great practice in 30 minutes! Could you do one that includes some strengthening exercises that help you train to do the leg lifts or to lift your whole body while in full lotus? I’m terrible with those 😅
Fantastic short practice. Loved it. Do you have more of these with different seated asanas?
Thank you very Much Guys ! You have helped me to reconnect with the practice atfer a long break. Your queues and the level of precision of your instructions takes it to another level ! With deep gratitude. Pranams. NB: my 5 years old son walked into the room and told me "je l'aime bien la madame, elle est belle" meaning " I like that lady very much, she is beautiful" :)

Loved the video! Fast but helped 👍
Thank you - great practice. Please produce more of these short ashtanga practices🙏🙏🙏

I love this practice!! Good when you are late ⏰
Love this! Exploring Ashtanga again after nearly a decade and 3 births. Thanks for creating a welcome space to restart my Ashtanga education! 💕
Jelena has some serious game. Those virabadrasana 1's were amazing. Just and amazing practice by her. Really enjoyed it. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have been doing this short practice for 3 weeks after 3 years of doing cero practice. At the begining it was so hard 😅. With the help of the magnésium chlorure and persistence I am doing so much better! Thanks ❤🎉
Thank you from Cape Town, great to stay connected to an authentic practice when time is in short supply 🙏
Hi - Thank you David and Jelana - I love this video - I use this about 2-3 times per week. 😊
Out of this realm, at least my realm. Amazing video!
Best express Ashtanga class ever! An express half primary would be amazing! Thank you for the class ❤
LOVE this practice! Excellent cues, excellent demos. Thank you so much. Off to work now, ready for the day. ❤
Great practice. I paused and added a shoulder stand. :)
Dear Dave and Jelena, tha k you for this energising and spiritual practice. It was a beautiful experience to have the opening and closing chant, that helped me to be present for the exercises. It really made my day and I'm definitely coming back to this video 🎉
This is a great Ashtanga 30 minute class. Would love to see a 30 minute Ashtanga that incorporates some more seated poses. Thank you!
Another option is David Swenson's short forms (on youtube or get the book) which skip parts of the standing sequence. This version is great too!
Amazing. Thank you 🙂
I do this video every day thanks ❤from Egypt
Thanks so much. This is just what i was looking for!❤
Just great! Nearly doing this every morning now, thank you for sharing. Greets from Hungary ♥
