I have been wanting to write something for a long time, about Leslie. First of all, I discovered Leslie‘s primary series with Jessica Cass during Covid and I absolutely fell in love with not only Leslie‘s voice but just the love and kindness that exudes from her in general. I have to admit that I also absolutely love her way of guiding and I love that they do a handstand in the middle of navasana it’s so fun and it had created a challenge for me that I started to do every day and it really made a difference in my handstands and in every other thing too like for instance just coming into the handstand from navasana so many times opened up so many doors with respect to the jump through the jump back and many other things where you need to engage the bandhas. But anyway one thing that was really important to say was that after I found out that Leslie passed away I literally could not listen to her voice for about three months because my heart broke I don’t know what happened to her but what I do know is that she is a very good person and she she obviously was a star a superstar and she did so much good for so many a real live angel and may she may you Leslie may you rest in peace blessings to your family. I never got to meet you but I miss you and I love you
This is has become my daily practice. What else could one need for a solid five years of practice or more? This video has it all! I did learn ashtanga at my beloved studio in Philadelphia, but I use this video to continue my practice at home. I love Leslie's voice, and Jessica Kass is amazing.
I just started Yoga a few weeks back with Ashtanga. The six day practice kills you and I am sticking with it. I have a great teacher who is working me through parts of it. I am about 50 pounds over weight so seeing her do the whole series is a magic act. I am winded at about the ten minute mark. Thank you so much for posting this. Jessica kass is amazing.
Leslie has a very calming voice, I like this video and regularly practice to it just to have her calming presence during my practice. It is the best tutorial for primary series. She is not excessively talking about physical alignments in a posture which can take your mind off trying to connect to your inner self and be calm in your asana. Here only relevant information and breath counts are enough to experience sthira sukham asanam. Thank you Leslie.
Lesley, you teaching is so powerful, graceful yet invigorating and restorative! The most beautiful balance leading to full body, mind and spirit bliss. Your eloquent guidance throughout the primary series makes for a tranquil and inspiring home practice! So grateful. Namaste :)
I looove it!!! It's wonderful to see how I can learn the sequence, motivated by a person who looks "human". I mean, seeing those who jump in handstand like gravity doesn't exist for them is wonderful, but feels like I'll never manage to do the same. Thanks for being human :)
I came upon this Class today as I was feeling the need for an empowering class and never did much Ashtanga. Although it's a quite advanced practice and my body starting to give up, I felt strong and positive throughout. I then searched Lesley and found out of her death. I hope wherever she is, she knows she is still empowering and inspiring people all over the World. Love, Margarida
Leslie and Jessica, I am a yoga instructor and am always look for a new inpiration for my practice and teaching skills. Your video has a combination of the basic and advanced Astanga poses, which motivate me to continue practicing yoga. This is one of the most challenging classes that I have ever taken, but it is very inspiring and beneficial for my health and learning needs. I like your philosophy in practicing yoga "Yoga for all." Your instructions and tone of voice are very smoothing and easy to follow. Jessica Kass is an amazing and beautiful yogi. Thank you and appreciate very much for posting this video. You have my full support of your mission, Namaste.
That was incredible!! I am 3 years old in yoga years, I am looking forward to continue my practice forever:), I'm feeling I'm only another 6-10 years away from following this class fully. So cool, thanks.
Slower than many classical talk-throughs for Primary Ashtanga, but so much deeper reaching in places because of the slowed down pace. Thank you Lesley for teaching and Jessica for the demo.
I'm about 50 days into Travis Eliot's Ultimate Yogi program, to get myself kicked into gear, but I love this routine. I started doing this one last year, but I wasn't very flexible, or strong! These moves are quite doable now, so I'm excited to try again through the summer.
Thank you so much for making this wonderful video!! I studied Ashtanga Yoga back in August of 2010 to become an instructor, but life took me another way and I have been out of practice for a few years now. I practice as often as I can at home and follow what I learned and the sequence that I have memorized, but I have not been to a traditional Ashtanga Primary Series class. This is amazing and will help me to work on my Ashtanga practice without having to go to a class. (I can do it while my toddler naps in the comfort of my own home.) Thank you, thank you!
+Amber Bodily I'm so happy to hear that you found this class!! I used to practice at home when my kids were little too. It's so great to have yoga! Thank you! :-)
Thank you! I have been practicing iyengar hatha yoga for about 2 years and felt comfortable with the earlier videos. I really enjoyed this. Having the knowledge about correct alignment and how to modify when needed was essential for this, as I could not get into all of the full postures, and knowing how to honour my body and respect my limits helped too (skipping a flow if needed). There were advanced poses I haven't seen before and I enjoyed taking rest and watching jess. Thank you again :)
I started from 30-minute in January :) It was very difficult at the beginning, but I get used to. And now it s like a morning prayer before a day. I think it s time to begin doing a full version. Thank you, Lesley!
Thank you so much for making this video! It has become my go-to video for daily practice. I was never being able to insist on yoga classes before, even for trying 1-2 times per week. I thought daily practice just wouldn't happen to me, not mentioning a pretty demanding type. But I started with your half-hour intro Ashtanga. After just two weeks, I found myself opening this full series video every day. And these two hours are now the BEST hours in my day. It works like magic! Thank you Lesley and Jessica!
Fantastic video. I've practiced hot vinyasa for 14 years but want to start practicing Ashtanga and with just wee bit of knowledge that I have, this video is exceptional. And I love that it's a full 1.5 hours. Narrator and the student are wonderful.
Thank you for this video. I have returned to my yoga practice and have chosen this video and you to be my teacher. May the light in me reach the light in you. -Kristina
Almost 3 years and half coming everyday to the matt and doing Vinyasa and Power yoga alternating with some Yin Yoga days. This Ashtanga practice is great and inspirational but still a way out of my league. I did it today witn many variations and I was sweating even more than when I used to train HiiT. Let's see, if in a couple of years I am able to do it effortlessly as Jessica Kass ;) Many thanks!!!
Wow! I am hooked! First full primary series and I couldn't be more proud of completing it. Not stopping was the hardest part. Thank you for sharing! Shanti!
Its been rather difficult finding the right yoga video to use on a regular basis while working in Thailand. I've loved many of your videos but this one is just like what I used to do in a studio back in florida. Thank you for posting this and guiding me through one of the best most challenging practices ive done in over 2 years. I have some work to do !
I have to say that your voice was very inspiring and the girl performing inspired me too; I'm nearly 69 years old and I need to express that I couldn't do hand stand and marychiasana D as those postures were very difficult to me, but I keep trying as I always say EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLES in everyone! Namasté 🙏
Thank You for showing me Im still a beginner. Lesley, you have a very nurturing voice, perfect for guided meditation. Jess is a monster, very well practiced. I have some work to do. "Practice, and all is coming"
Rest in peace Leslie. You are my guru, I have practiced to your ashtanga class for the last 4 years. Thank you for your guidance and hope you continue to inspire us beyond the veil.
This has been my daily practice for a year and a half. Thanks so much for this! I hadn't been to a class in several years before I decided to try home practice. This and the beginner video got me off the sofa.
Wow! This girl is amazing! She has an amazing body and her yoga technique is stunning! She must have been practicing yoga for years. This is a great video,I will definitely try it but I won't be able to do some of those crazy transitions. Thank you Lesley for teaching us, I show off in front of my friends with some very difficult poses and now I inspired them to practice yoga.
Nikolina Lučić Yes, Jess is amazing...she works hard and has an amazing practice. She also used to be a dancer and you can see it in how gracefully she moves. I'm so happy to hear that you're inspiring your friends to practice. Awesome! xx
I really appreciate your way of teaching. You are very detailed yet easy to follow along at the same time. You also do a fantastic job of motivating me and pushing me to do better. Thank you very much !
I made myself a deal this week that I would do this class from tuesday to saturday everyday. I just finished and feel soo good! Thank you so much. It was a challenge but now i am happy, because doing it every day teaches you soo much about your own body and limits. Love!! :)
I just did have my best Ashtanga practice ever! Was so nice to use all my frustration and anger I was feeling before class to really work through all the poses to the best of my ability and only ones did I tend to not listen to my my body and do to much. Wonderful class! Thank you Much love!
This was so lovely! I've been practicing vinyasa yoga for 12 years, teaching 8 years and I've only dipped my toes into Mysore classes a few times over the years. Being at home during quarantine is making Ashtanga blossom for me and I so appreciate the led practice. Thank you very much!
I️ wanna say THANK YOU for sharing this with us! I️ do it at home by myself but I️ feel like I️ have my own teacher! I’m really grateful for that! 🙌 Wish you the best!
This is the best Ashtanga video for self practicing at home, since the pandemic started in March 2020 and I couldn't go to my yoga studio. Jessica Kass has been my best yogi partner 😉 🧘♀️🧘♂️
I have been following this video on and off for over a year now, I've seen so many improvements and each time it never disappoints - FEELS AMAZING. Thank you for sharing this with so many people for free xx shanti shanti shanti
So much more challenging than what i had anticipated. i ve stopped now at one hour, im not completely exhausted however i feel i should stop there today. tomorrow i'll try to finish it all. i'm not a beginner yet this is way too tricky , great job you girls!
This was such a nice practice at home experience. I love ashtanga but have not been able to take classes because of my work schedule. This is the first online class where I could actually focus. No unnecessary talk or music or other. Thank you so much for sharing!
After the Namasté in the end I always send a positive message to you out of thankfulness for your video's. I really love the way they have helped me in my practice.
Ok so, I did this video yesterday morning ... This morning, I can't walk !! ^^ I am SO stiff ! The whole series is very very hard, sometimes I was just sitting on my mat, out of breath, watching Jessica doing amazing things with her body. After two months of injury and a very recent resumption, I suffered :p but that's such a great feeling !! I can't wait to try this again, but in the meantime I think I'll do the shorter videos :p Thanks to you and to Jessica !!
Holy cow!! 3 years doing yoga and I will need another 3x10 to get this level!!! I have modified with easier poses almost the last 30 min - but very very nice video to have like a long term goal. Many thanks
what a beautiful class. Can you do some more ashtanga led primary series classes. Fabulous. I still cannot get lotus pose but am improving in other areas. Thanks. Martha from Galway Ireland
On a daily basis I practice Iyengar yoga in the studio. I craved more advanced / physically demanding classes. Most people who come there get stuck in "I can't do this ", "I have an injury" so the classes have to be for everyone. Although there is always a lot to learn from a great teacher, my body needs more. I never practiced Ashtanga (or maybe one or two of your videos last year) so I found it quite challenging and entertaining. I have no idea how to jump through or jump back. They don't teach us. Big thanks to you for the video!
Ashtanga is the best practice ever. All my body was shaking after. Savasana was sooooo relaxing. You really feel yourself when you do the Primary Series, and how much you are moving in consciousness ! Thank you so much
Thank you so much, for you and Jessica, for your effort to share us a such quality lesson/video. Seems that it will be my new routine, .. Until I 'll feel comfortable to be in the flow. You have all my gratitude, both of you. Namaste :)
Just tried this for first time (been doing David Swenson's DVD workout for years) and this is quite close to it. Really impressed the full Ashtanga Primary serious is available here for free!!! Definitely not for beginners as there are no modifiers but absolutely fine if you have done Ashtanga before. Her voice is very soothing and the breathing count happily coincides with mine!
Wonderful guidance through the practice audio and visual vice. The tone, the pace... calming and uplifting at the same time. Thank you so much for the great work done here! 🌈🌱❤️ Keep it up!
Thank you so much for posting this! I used to practice the Ashtanga series twice a week at a previous yoga studio and have missed it so much. Since then I had been trying to follow along from a book but it really breaks the meditation to have to keep flipping pages and looking down. It's so much easier to follow along with your voice and Jessica's demonstrations. Namaste!
I have been following your videos for three years Lesley. You were one of the first teachers that got me started on my yoga journey, and it has enriched my life so much. I am eternally grateful
Allthough I was able to keep up for about 80%, you totally beat me, thanks. I'm gonna try getting 90% to 95% for the next two months and see if I improve physically and spiritually.
Great video to practice at home! thanks a lot. I have to say that this is not for beginers since its speed and length. I can follow it with some modifications but at the end I was tired, so I guess with more practice I will be better.
That girl is amazing! So graceful and strong! I haven't sweat so much since I took hot yoga! I modified what I could. I should have listened to your advice to try the beginner Ashtanga class as this was my first time trying Ashtanga practice. Whew! I think if I come to the OC I will have to try the beginner class. Wonderful energetic practice and Jessica was inspirational to watch. Time to pass out now! lol
Thank you for this video. I had looked at it previously and moved on but now that I am beginning to get a little better at ashtanga I really appreciate this wonderful video now. I like that you throw in a little teaching and tips for focus points and I love the handstands. Thank you again.
Thank you so much!! I love to practice at my studio but sometimes I can't make it to class. I don't have the discipline yet to do the whole sequence on my own so this is perfect. Now I can practice daily anyway! Namaste
+Helchi H I'm so glad you liked it. If you're newer to the Ashtanga practice, I'd recommend that you start with this one for a while: ruclips.net/video/rcp84GZa6C0/видео.html then move to this one: ruclips.net/video/2wYN1IhnXT4/видео.html and when you're ready to move to more of a challenge, come back to this one. If you feel that this is the best class for you, of course, keep practicing it!! xoxo
I have been doing these some days now and it was amazing! The first time I thought I will try but this looks almost impossible for me! But then it was fulfilling to see how each time I could do a bit more and more and now I am really into it!! Still I keep thinking every time how amazing Jessica Kass just keeps with the same energy and calmness doing these crazy poses until the end :D And the voice is totally supportive to the "moving meditation". Thanky youu!!
I am so grateful for this recording you two have done! Strong calm female astanga flow :D Thank you two so very much!! I love to practice at home, and you making this accessible is really a gift
Been doing yoga in the studio for about 5 years now and decided it was finally time to embark on a home practice. This video was challenging and totally awesome! Thank you so much for making it available for us and be well. - JNS
woderfull training, but still very difficult for me and sometimes impossible ! but it give you the desire to progress and may be one day be able to do it!
This practice has inspired me to post my own version soon. R.I.P Lesley. Your voice is forever healing lives on this platform. Namaste🙏
what do you mean RIP lesley?
I had no idea Lesley had passed until just now. Bless her and her gifts to the world.
I have been wanting to write something for a long time, about Leslie.

+Yellow That's great. Thanks :)
I could not agree more. Great pace and voice! I will be using this for my daily practices too. Thank you for this video and many blessings!
pattapi jois
whats your home studio? I too live in the Philadelphia area...
I live in Philadelphia, what studio did you go to?
This girl just never gets tired! Huge respect!
Lol, I know, right!
I actually don't know if I've been more captivated by the young lady doing the yoga..........or the voice. The two are incredible, for sure !
I still keep coming to this video, love it! More of Ashtanga here would be amazing!
Namaste :)
What a great gift Lesley, thank you for be our long distance teacher, far but so close at the same time :)
monicadelpilarrr thank you so much!! :-)
I looove it!!! It's wonderful to see how I can learn the sequence, motivated by a person who looks "human". I mean, seeing those who jump in handstand like gravity doesn't exist for them is wonderful, but feels like I'll never manage to do the same. Thanks for being human :)

Leslie and Jessica,
I am a yoga instructor and am always look for a new inpiration for my practice and teaching skills.

Slower than many classical talk-throughs for Primary Ashtanga, but so much deeper reaching in places because of the slowed down pace. Thank you Lesley for teaching and Jessica for the demo.
:)
I'm about 50 days into Travis Eliot's Ultimate Yogi program, to get myself kicked into gear, but I love this routine. I started doing this one last year, but I wasn't very flexible, or strong! These moves are quite doable now, so I'm excited to try again through the summer.
I'm super excited that you're getting more flexible and stronger. This class is super advanced! Great job! :-)

This has been my daily practice for a year and a half. Thanks so much for this!
I hadn't been to a class in several years before I decided to try home practice. This and the beginner video got me off the sofa.
That's so wonderfult! I'm glad to hear you're back to your daily practice!! :-)
Do you have any tip for bending forward uttanasana? How to deepen bending forward? Im not able to reaching the floor yet, i'm struggling with it.
Wow! This girl is amazing! She has an amazing body and her yoga technique is stunning! She must have been practicing yoga for years. This is the best Ashtanga video for self practicing at home, since the pandemic started in March 2020 and I couldn't go to my yoga studio. Jessica Kass has been my best yogi partner 😉 🧘♀️🧘♂️

Can i lose arm fat, back fat and belly fat by doing astanga yoga regularly??? Pls reply
I am trying to learn the jumping through and back as well, so I found this video is super helpful! ruclips.net/video/U9G3ZlU9H2M/видео.html

Fiona Grocott thank you!!! xoxoxo
Mi very thankful for this video. It is very clear but mainly your voice which I find very sweet. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing sequence, power, and grace!
Namaste :)
I actually did this!! Thank you Lesley! Amazing class and new learning opportunity. :) xx
+Kursten Vande Sompel Yay!!! Thank you!
Thank you so very much! Stuck at home. Really appreciate this!
Thank you Lesley for a wonderful video!!
+Elin G I'm so glad you liked it! :-)
Glad you liked it!
Even though I am a beginner this video is really helpful in this pandemic. Namaste from Korea
Thank you very much, finely a Ashtanga video properly executed.
Beautiful practice. Great count. Perfect speed. Thank you for providing this!!!!
Thanks!
Wonderful guidance through the practice audio and visual vice. The tone, the pace... calming and uplifting at the same time. Thank you so much for the great work done here! 🌈🌱❤️ Keep it up!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for your lovely message! xx
Namaste!
Watched this to explore different styles of yoga under the recommendation of my professor. 10/10 amazing!
I have been following your videos for three years Lesley. You were one of the first teachers that got me started on my yoga journey, and it has enriched my life so much. I am eternally grateful
I really enjoyed this class - Thank you Courtney
Its just a fantastic practice! So much gratitud to you all!
Thank you so much, Clara!
I have been practicing with this video for five months and love it more everyday, thankyou soooo much
i have to say a huge thank you for putting this up .the days i struggle to motivate for personal practice .this keeps me going
oh I'm so happy to hear that this is helpful! xoxo
Thank you again so much for your enjoyable and energizing class of epic proportions. We love you Jessica !😊😊
Time to pass out now! lol
DrJoberry Sweet Yes, she is so amazing!! :-)
Thank you for this video. I had looked at it previously and moved on but now that I am beginning to get a little better at ashtanga I really appreciate this wonderful video now. I like that you throw in a little teaching and tips for focus points and I love the handstands. Thank you again.
Thank you so much!! I wach this video once a week and it is very good love you
I use this everyday to keep track of my breathing. Great video and I love your calming voice! Regards / Robin
+Robin Rastenberger Thanks so much!
Thank you Lesley! Your voice is so soothing and your instruction is always so easy to follow.
Amazing class and very kind and soft voice , loved it 💜💙💜
Thank you so much!! I love to practice at my studio but sometimes I can't make it to class. I don't have the discipline yet to do the whole sequence on my own so this is perfect. Now I can practice daily anyway! Namaste
This video is so helpful!!! I could not do a bunch of poses, but I am going to keep practicing with this video. Thank you for making this video!!
If you feel that this is the best class for you, of course, keep practicing it!! xoxo
Thank you so much! I am going to follow your advice:)
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Love love love!
Brenda O'Connor thank you so much!! I'm so glad you love it! xx
I wasn't in the mood to do yoga this morning for some reason, but once I saw this video was uploaded, I got on my mat! As always, thank you. :)
