Fantastic videos , egr blanking plate advice cured my problem ,the Rac had no idea what was wrong with it local garage advised me it would cost a minimum of £350 , blanking plate cost me £3.50 off eBay fitted in 5 mins started on first turn of the key I wish these guys were local to me I would have no problem having them look after my truck

I have subscribed to your channel as i am a mechanic by trade and i love the fact that you recommend blanking the EGR. Its good to see that people are not afraid to basically rectify a factory fault in design! I do have one request though... For many people who are not familiar with the accent, it might be beneficial to maybe slow the speech down a bit? I think it would open up the target audience for you. Thanks for the great tips.

thank you so much for your info about scv i did exactly what you said and my problem was fixed. just so you know nissan- mexico they dont sell you the scv alone . they want to sell you the complete fuel pump about $2,500 usd, but i got it from another source , it was $150 usd. and the reset i did it myself thanks to your video and it worked, and i also blanked the egr valve . some how i got way more power now. once again thank you so much. happy days from mexico

I have been having small issues on my 2010 d 40 which I personally service it twice a year changing all filters and oil . My issue is that it idle a little slower then normal and it some time it has a power serge down low ?

Great video. there is allso one thing must to check if the car sometimes wont start or starts but wont run etc. the fuse and relay box in the engine room check the main power connection on that box the socket seems to get loosen from time. I had the problem causin lots off headache ;) Sorry my bad english.

ihave problem whit my d40. 4wd start to show in the dashbord i turn the key off and after nothing happend lights is on every thing is working but the starter dosent klick. sorry for my english i´m from sweden great chennel man keep on working

First of i would like to tell you that you give us a lot of info and i really appreciate. I would like to ask something regards a problem i am having with my navara d 40 longway down 2008. The problem is that when starting in the morning after a while the power falls down like the engine is giong to stop but after few seconds and use a lower gear like a second gear it will become normal. This then re occurs also later . Diesel filter was changed but still the same problem.
Unplug the cam sensor see if it starts better if it does then it is the timing chain Thanks Des.

1. do i need to do a fuel pump reset if i only replace the fuel filter? i have heard that might be the case
2. my horn cuts in and out while turning the steering wheel. biggest pain in the ass about it is, its cut out point is when the wheels are straight......

No you do not need to do fuel pump reset for that . The horn sounds to me that you have a problem with a wiring fault hope this is a help to you
thank you mate. i have successfully replaced the diesel filter.... before the replacement, it was stalling here and there on start up (which is why i replaced it). once it starts it goes great guns and dosnt miss a beat. however. as soon as i turn it off and try to start it straight away it will stall. even once the motor is warm. i have a very high suspicions that the scv is playing up. any thoughts as to what it could be?

Hi there you need to unplug the cam sensor which is located at the side of the cylinder head and if the truck starts and ticks over it will mean timing chain stretch hope this helps

Hi thank u so much for ur video i wanted to buy. Nissan Navara st 2010 that has 130 000 k but when i went for a test drive a noise was coming out sounds like an air leak pSssss kind of sound every time i accelerated and it kind of got louder when drove it for a bt longer it gets more thanks
Great videos: straight to the point. I have a 2003 X-Trail with persistent power-loss problem. It starts fine, idles fine, but dies as soon as rpm approaches 2k. Once it is warmed up, I can rev it to 3k+ and it will keep going but if rpm drops below 3k, it dies completely. I have so far replaced MAF, checked APP (perfect), blanked EGR and ordered fuel filter (next job). No error messages. Are the SCVs still a possibility?

Thanks mate. Good advice. If you haven't done already can you give advice on the D22 Navara as a as sold worldwide. The one with the YD25 motor. Mine has 131ks and I am wondering if I should ditch it or run it into the ground. I service it every 5k and tow a heavy camper trailer off road a bit. It is a great car but I'm just worried about all the stories I've heard about the YD25.

Hi mate,Thanks for the videos the best D40 advice around, the turbo oil supply pipe on my d40 split and turbo bearing seized, also turbo blew exhaust fumes and soot under bonnet melted glow plug covers and some other wire insulation etc. put a new turbo on but no power, do you think intercooler block? Faulty turbo? or any other ideas?

Great videos, wish I had discovered them sooner. I have a really tricky issue with my 57 plate 2.5 diesel Pathfinder and would love to know what you think? My Pathfinder runs great during the summer and mild weather but as soon as we get cold mornings my engine will start fine but will sometimes cut out shortly after, this might happen before I get of my drive or it could be 10 yards down my street... It will restart again straight away and then is absolutely fine, even if it's been stood for 8 hours at work. It's only first thing on most cold mornings. Any ideas?

I get P1621 fuel cut valve mal
I have already changed Fuel valve i ordered from denso and fitted and I reset the engine light. Last night i was driving on motorway and i felt the lost power and i was pushing the accelerator but still wouldn't go over 60 to 70 mph and the engine management light wasn't on either. After i stopped the car and i switched the car off and on again the power back to normal do you know what's the problem please.

nissan navara d40 2007 car has a rough tickover and engine shakes but no smoke coming out of back revs up fine drive fine when you put your foot down
Hi mate . Have the same loss of power / smoke issues, have replaced all sensors and blanked off the egr valve, but still does it. If the whole actual egr valve fails even with the blanking plate on, will this effect it? Hope I explained it alright . Thanks for any help and awesome videos thanks sam

Hi, I have a late 2010 spain D40 140kw and it's showing a P0380 code glow plug/heater circuit A. I have replaced all 4 glow plugs and also tested resistance (.4ohms on all 4). I have also replaced the glow plug relay and tested voltage passing (11.5v on all 4 pins) I have also check for continuity on the loom and all seems to be good. What would you suggest yo do next? Your the man! Hey I parked my Navara at the pub and when I went to leave I wouldn’t start, it wouldn’t even crash start. It finally started but was running like total crap so I parked it up was never able to start again. It was six months ago and have done a full fluids change, filter change, new battery and replaced the starter motor but still nothing. The dash lights come on when I turn the key but the engine does absolutely nothing. Not even a noise. It’s a 2002 D22 turbo diesel Navara. Please help??????
Had a surging idle on 2013 D22. Changed all filters and fluids but didn’t fix problem. Mechanic cleaned MAF sensor as well. Surging idle very intermittent but mainly when cold. Surging idle went away one day after filling diesel tank up. Lost power the other day but roadside tech unable to help. Filled up while underpowered and engine light came on. Diagnosis was fuel pressure regulator and replaced but still underpowered. Any help advice appreciated

05 xtrail 2.2 dci sport. when accelerating from 60 ish on a motorway and road is on a slight incline,when i hit 2700 rpm throttle cuts out ,pedal unresponsive until i reapply then ok. when im towing it happens at 2500 rpm and at lower speeds.throttle sensor has been taking apart and cleaned.appreciate any advice. thanks in advance.
Hi great vids. Mate I've got a 2010 d22 yd25 and has started to stall when i go to start it back up after long drives ONLY (idles fine for about 10sec then stalls). Once started it won't do it again until another long drive . Have done the egr blank and now don't know where to go from there . Can you help???
hi my pathfinder rattles and sounds as though injectors not working as should when temperature goes under 8 deg it starts as it should but rattel does worry me and down on power if outside temp good i dont have problem

Hi Des I have d40 07 reg it starts ok on a cold start but if I leave the vehicle for a few moments then return it won’t start , but will if I pump the rev pedal any idea what this could be , I have changed the fuel filter but nothing else.

Was drive Cabstar S today to Birmingham back to donny we refuelled in Birmingham and drove all the way way back to Doncaster as we was just coming off motorway we lost power so we pulled in, switch ignition off and boom, we got hit with engine management ticks over but won’t start? Any ideas of what we’re looking for please?
Hi mate, d40 wont tick over. Once the rev drops below 1000rpm it its our intermittently though. I changed ghe suction control valve and cleaned the maf sensor but no change. Any ideas?
Hi mate, I've got pathfinder r51 yd25 and sometimes it's blowing black smoke and I'm not even pushing it hard, i blocked the egr and still does it also the car it's stock.
I have an old Nissan cabstar motor caravan where the passenger seat lifts to access the engine. I had a flat battery and a friend got the jump leads on the wrong way. We checked the fuses but it seems the glow plug light on the dash has gone out. Any idea on where I can locate the louse to the glow plugs I be been stranded long enough any help greatly appreciated.

I already changed the fuel filters, scv, timming chain. I saw in other video that it could be the 02 sensor, but i think my truck don´t have those sensors. changed de MAF and camchaft sensors too.

Hey, just wondering, I have a micra k12 that struggles to start. Sometimes takes 7 attempts as the revs just bounce and then the car dies. Whilst the revs are bouncing you cannot rev the car with the accelerator. Do you know what the issue could be?

Hi, great videos very informative but still having trouble getting a 2008 Navarra running after a possible case of Diesel bug, have dropped the tank pulled out the float chamber and cleaned all the pick up and return hoses to and from the filter head back to the tank.Completely cleaned tank. New fuel filter bled out with fresh fuel, primed the system with the hand primer, engine starts fires and runs for 10 secs and dies,
Have reprogrammed the pump manually with the pedal procedure, getting ten long and short flashes on MIL light ? have scanned system with Snap on scanner, did have 2 codes NATS related P1614 and P1610 , cleared and since have not returned, no faults found on subsequent scans, getting fuel pressure readings in data on cranking from scanner, for all the world it feels like air in the system, all fuel fittings are bone dry no leaks. Hoping that contaminated fuel hasn't got past the filter. Timing chain quiet all good. Engine did run prior to repairs but suffered from Power loss/fuel starvation due to possible blocked and contaminated filter still not enough to illuminate MIL. Any suggestions where to look next ?

Hi. I have a 08 D40 2.5TDi (Spanish made) Navara. My problem is that it boosts from 1700rpm, with good boost from 2000rpn throughout the rev range. There is little or no boost below 1700rpm, and being a manual truck it is gutless at hill start to the point where it stalls. tales off on flat surface with a goor rev, but generally gutless below 1700rpm. Can you advise what to check for or even if you had the same experience? While driving it has good power and good fuel economy, so the only problem is lack of power at low revs. Thank you
Hi there I have a 2007 Pathfinder @73k and it has a loud turbo whaling noise and sometimes white smoke. When its cold it has the tendency to cut out but it has been driving fine do you know what the issue could be, its been keeping me up at night as i keep thinking the engine/turbo is going to go!
Hi I recently was experiencing cut out after starting 2008 pathfinder 2.5 diesel, it started alright but if not throttled to warm up at high revs for 5 min it would cut out . so I changed the scv it seemed ok but then a day later did the same again . once it cuts out its a bugger to try start again , i eventually flattened battery . any ideas? then got it started but if not throttled it wants to drop revs and die? regards Gary

how do, great video, ever come across a squeaky pulley (not belts)? changed belts and clutch bearing pulley on alternator but still the exact same squeak after all that when i start it up. noise is reduced when lights are off when starting. any vids on alternator noises issues?

Hi there mate. I’m in New Zealand. I have a 2008 pathfinder d40 r51. I have a major lack of power in drive. I noticed that in reverse it seems ok? But in drive it is very sluggish. It revs high and takes a long time to speed up. Engine light is on now and the mechanic told me it bought up a code that had something to do with the brakes?
Seems like a transmission fault to me but was hoping you could help to point me in the right direction.

Hi, I came across your channel while looking for answers as to why my 2014 D40 has trouble starting in colder weather (14 degrees celcius. Qld Australia Winter weather). You videos seem extremely helpful however doing a general scroll through them, I couldnt find one relating to my problem so I thought I would try my luck with a question. So the starter cranks the engine fine and the engine kicks over and runs for about 2 or 3 seconds and then stops. After that it wont start untill about a good 10 minutes of cranking and resting and cranking and resting etc. I am about to go and put a multimeter on the glow plugs but failing that, my google research indicates there may be air getting in to the fuel lines via the fuel filter. Do you have any advice please and thanks.
I've got a 2006 Nissan narava d40 I've recently replaced the timing chain and fuel pump assembly.
But when I'm driving I'm losing power when I accelerate but when I decrease the acceleration it doesn't do it could it be a spark plug issues?
hi mate ive got a real annoying issue on a 2007 d40 two separate codes glow relay and fuel pressure rgulator ive changed plugs found some bad wiring fixed that found the fuse was gone changed that it cleared but came back glow relay again with the fuel code i changed fuel pressure solonoid the rail pcv and it goes away for awhile but comes back putting it in limp please help seems you know these really well
Have an R51 Nissan making Oil. I have redone the seals on the fuel return under the rocker cover. The Injectors cant leak ? (I believe this based on how they are manufactured ) Where is the fuel getting into the oil?

I have a 2009 Pathfinder SE. After driving for about 15 minutes, I hear a clicking noise from the engine compartment. When I let off the accelerator, the clicking temporarily stops. Hi mate, thanks for your great videos...I'm from Australia and own a Nissan Navara D22 2003 model in 3.3l V6 petrol. The vehicle starts very easy, runs well and feels quite strong even at low rpm, but when you accelerate hard there is a major drop in power around 3200rpm until about 4000rpm and then it will improve a bit but not much. I replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, oil filters, aircleaner, run diagnostics...but cannot identify a problem. Do you have any idea what may be wrong? Your comments are appreciated.

Hi west Yorkshire. Great videos. I have a nissan pathfinder 2005 that's having issues with stalling / struggling to start. Have changed MAF and fuel filter and put blanking plate on EGR valve. This has stopped the start up issue but now it is stalling when pulling up at junctions. Would changing the SCV do the trick as seems I've done most the obvious. Cheers

I live in Australia and own a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder ST-L auto with YD25 Diesel engine. On hard acceleration it goes into limp mode and the 4WD drive light comes on. If I restart it, it goes good until I heavy accelerate. Also sometimes after starting it in the morning it will stall at idle a few time until I rev it up. Is this a definite Suction Control Valve fault that I am experiencing. Any help would be appreciated.
