Hi took my nissan navara for a free health check. Very friendly staff and free good advice we have booked it in for MOT and a service I hope your son likes is ice pops .
Well done for this vid. I noticed the fuel filter on this one didn't have the water sensor underneath. Only criticism was I kept saying stop, stop, stop as you tightened the oil filter.
K&N oil filters come with a 25mm nut fixed on top of the oil filter .Makes R&R much less complicated than with filter grab idea. They also make washable air filters. cheers love your work!!
hi from n.z. i.m.o k&n is crap unless used on a track race day. they are nothing more that a sieve that lets in fine dust. at our Can-am dealership we have a lost of idiots using theme on high end road bikes which come in dusted which engine is destroyed by fine dust. if anyone wanted these shit filters used on Komatsu, Cummins,Cat, or other heavy diesels the makers wont wear it.
I've been changing the oil on my cars and trucks for 45 years never have I seen an oil filter on so damn tight before and installed so tightly, was curious because I'm thinking about buying a frontier
that happent more that they are tight ,, it have to do with engine get hot than cold and it is than per hand it still can happen but you right it have to be hand tight
i just got a discovery 2 td5 year 2000, 42,000 miles from new, basic motor i know but so easy to work on and solid as a rock, judging by most modern shite i think i got a bargain at £2600, yes its older and doesnt have an ipod plug but i can work on it ! great informative videos that made me go for an old motor.
That’s not a lift pump , it’s a bulb primer. Lift pumps were on cars and lorries plant machines back in the day they worked off the camshaft and you could manually prime and see the fuel through a small glass dome...
hey guys love the videos. just a quick hint, to ease the mess made by removing the oil filter I usually dump the oil in the sump first so the filter empties, then remove the filter.
Hi if it is not broke dont fix it but at least you are onto possible future faults look out for under powered and black smoke then do it. Thanks for watching more due out soon.
Great vid mate👍 I changed my oil filter painfully from underneath the car, very dirty and hard to get to. ( and then a few weeks later I replaced the fuel filter 😂)
There may be a benefit of the upside down oil filter when you do a simple oil change the contaminated oil would drain out without needing to change it every time? any comments?
Just bought a Navara a couple weeks ago and definitely gunna use your video whilst I have a play haha! Good stuff boys! Up in Yorkshire at the end of the month maybe I might pop in for a nose ;) peace. ✌️
James how is the cab space? I’ve had a go in one but was alarmed with how close my head was, like 1cm space and not much leg room unless I wasn’t using the chair right, I’m 6’2 so it suprised me I wasn’t expecting to have that issue I’m really
good video mate ..glad you drop things thought it was only butter fingers ..make my job easy for next service ..very clear .also agree with changing oil earlier many thanks
Hey mate, I love your videos, just wondering if you could make a video showing the sound of a good healthy d40 running so there’s a baseline to diagnose wrong sounding running. Thanks from Australia
hi buddy great videos I have a 2013 Nissan navara 2.5td.i have an engine leak on the right hand side of the engine above the engine mounting .can you give me advice as to what I should be looking for in order to repair it.
I suggest you add in the title, 2.5dci, most Pathfinder videos are US based and focus on the V6. I am UK based. A tip for others is to access the filter from below, this only entails removing the two rearmost shields. After which the oil filter can be reached from below - a much quicker and simpler way to do it. You can also apply just hand torque to tighten the new one. I was surprised at how much oil came out - approx 7.5lts. Good videos, thanks very much. I have had the dreaded dash light issue that relates to the gearbox switches, the autos have different switches to the ones you show (in another video) and requires the gearbox dropping to access them.
Hi mate thanks for the vid, do you possibly have a video or a detailed description where the engine temp sensor is on a d40 07 navara, I've found the loom cable as it was left undone by the previous owner but I've tried radius'ing the cable and can't seem to find it, cheers in advance bud
The easy way to pull the engine cover off is to remove the front two bolts and lift it at an angle and oull it towards you, that will leave the rubber grommet on the bolts and much easier to install it back on !
Thanks for the content. Complete novice question here, how tight in NM did the oil filter go on? You had a hard time getting it off, but you also screwed it on there tight as F from what I saw. I was always told hand tight, what is that in NM? Can you explain in more detail please?
Hi mate cool videos! I have a nissan navara d40 2007 stx When i am going up hills it stalls easy and then will not start again it turns over then it cuts out again any idea what this could be? Or if i start it and then turn it off again it will not start?
An annoying part of servicing my Pathfinder is that I order parts, eg the diesel filter using the registration number, only to receive incorrect parts. It seems Nissan just used random parts on the assembly line which don’t correspond to what the motor factors have in their listings.
Hi all love the videos very informative however my diesel filter has a wire connected to the base on my 08 R51 Pathfinder is this something aftermarket? Or a different filter to what you have in the UK
Do you have a video about power steering when I’m parting I can hear the belt squealing and the steering wheel vibrates, I have checked the fluid level and it is ok I think the belt needs tightened but I don’t know how too
This video is dynamite! Thank you as I was struggling with the oil filter location & change. I need to carry out a coolant change and I can't vouch for the existing being Nissan supplied coolant. Should I do a full drain and flush with a can then replenish?
Not only the tyre lever is shit they supply but the jack. I learnt the hard way the jack the supply isnt tall enough to lift the truck high enough to remove the wheel
Oil filter seal can dislodge while screwing on..suggest place filter on engine if loose..can mean a new engine...and expensive oil everywhere..adding oil to seal is a seperate issue..
I've got a petrol Dx 2.4 1998 ute (Australia). I need those good quality parts, the triple chain, and those quality big end bearings (triple coated) you mentioned in a u tube. I have a little bit big end rattle at low revs, I didn't tension the caps properly, after replacing the bearings of an old overheated engine. I replaced the head gasket and had the head machined, it was OK. I would like to do the job properly this time. New high compression pistons and a proper hone (the barrels are very good) I honed them using a DIY device. Could you give me the specifics on the tensioning, price for all the parts and advice please?
That is one of the most p.i.t.a filter location. That will do a little number on the hoses, clamps and clips for each and everytime we have to do all that to get the filter out. I was going to do it myself but I do not know about taking off all those hoses.
Hi legend, i try to change the timing chain on my navara D40 2007 Spanish . After take all the chain out find out this. Please give advise why on this video this part its move and can't open one of the bolt.
Do you think Nissan make the oil filter mountings especially difficult for folks at home. The ZD30 is the worst engine for an oil change that I have ever done. I reckon it must be a design brief. Even a Reliant Robin was easier. My Perkins/Volvo MD50 is so easy that I could do it wearing my best clothes and be sure of not getting dirty. Given that it sits in a tunnel in my boat I'm pleased that it is. I'm off to do battle with the fuel filter now. Well that was fun. Why didn't I think that pulling the water sensor out would release a load of diesel over me, the floor the battery etc. Next time!
There is a little metal clip that clips in from underneath the connector. Just need a flat screwdriver underneath the connector and pull the clip down. The connector then comes off easy.
I changed the fuel filter but the bulb primer doesn't get hard. Is it possible that air is trapped somewhere in the system between filter and fuel pump despite running? Starting is fine, although get major power loss revving to 3800 rpm (no stalling, limp mode resets after switching off/on)... or could it be that fuel return valve mentioned in another video. 2009 D40 Euro5 81000km
Hey Buddy. Do you have a branch in London or company you can recommend to have my Nissan checked up properly. Hard to travel up North to service a vehicle
Hi Thanks for getting in touch the next 2 video's we are doing are the most informative in what you have requested, May I ask where are you in the World, As we in the UK will save you a fortune in repair cost's Many thanks Des
If the vehicle has been used off road, especially on a beach, sand and dirt can accumulate around the filter and fall in to the flange when removed. This must be cleaned with compressed air or pressure washer first
Those oil filters are supposed to be spun on hand tight not tightened up with a ratchet it's no wonder there so difficult to undo. If you go to any of the major tyre replacement shops you will find them using impact guns to put wheels on and then check them with a torque wrench which is Crazy because they have already been overtightened usually by unskilled staff. I have just done a Kia's brakes which had only ever been serviced by Kia Bolton and had to use a 3/4 commercial drive socket and bar with a 5ft aluminium tube to undo the wheel nuts. If you own one of these vehicles I suggest you check your wheel nuts before you get a puncture on the motorway and can't get the wheel off. I spoke to Kia Bolton about this but denied ever over tightening the nuts but the evidence spoke for itself.
same thing happened to me. told them and they said they dont use a gun to tighten them. i said well my dash cam says otherwise. then then told me oh well if they did it has a setting to stop so it does not over tighten it. =/

I've an Automatic JAN2013 VSK and this video has been really helpful. I just bought an identical oil filter remover as result of seeing yours! I'm assuming this is VSK, Spanish Navara? I'm also assuming that oil+filter, check brake pads and visual checks as you've done is all that needs to be done every 12,000? What's the best grade oil to use for an auto? Thanks from Blue Mountains, Australia
How much boost can a standard d40 yd25 handle I’ve brought one from the auction and it has a turbo upgrade and it’s running 30psi of boost as it also has a boost gauge is that reliable or way to much boost ? Cheers from Australia
I know it's ridiculous. The hole for the filter is so small. I just took of my skid plate to change it. Toyota's 4.0 V6 is much easier. The oil filter is right on top of the engine (single VVTI) engines only though.
The ford rangers here if drained for more than 10 seconds it can have the varible speed oil pump rooted. on my d40 i will be installing a Racor pre filter and water trap to clean 98 percent before fuel enters factory 2 micron filter.
When I take the pipe to the master cylinder out Will I need to do anything when putting back on or will it just work as normal when I put back and turn key?
That's the second time I've serviced my engine using this guide! You guys rock
Oil filter just needs to be tightened by hand not over tighten
Master cylinder was not plugged back
I just changed all my filters with the help of this video. Fantastic job mate. I did have to get a translator mind you as I don't speak northern. :)
Cheers mate all the best with it, The Team!
I'm Australian mate. I had no problem understanding him! :)

What a place to put the oil filter , almost like it was an after thought .

Is it easier on a lift

Hi, in fuel filter there is a sensor, I was thinking how to remove the sensor plug without damaging it. Don't see it was in your video.
There is a little metal clip that clips in from underneath the connector. Just need a flat screwdriver underneath the connector and pull the clip down. The connector then comes off easy.

Great to see someone adding videos for a particular make like you do.
At the moment I've got a problem with my 2010 d40 Thai.
It's done 135kms and had a timing chain replaceed at 125kms.
Now it's stalling on start up, it's ok if I keep it above 1,000rpm and when it's warm I don't have a problem.

Where's that located?
