One thing I found great to have is the universal decapping die from Lee. It's the only die that touches dirty brass and let's me remove primers at a pretty good pace for better tumbling. I've got a buddy that's got buckets off 223 from his home range that he's going to give me that will really make that decapping die worth the few bucks paid.
Lyman case prep xpress is a must for any loader. Really reduces hand fatigue to a minimum. I also took my hornaday powder trickler and filled the base with lead shot and 5 minute epoxy. It now sits on my bench and is rock solid.

Im at 1/2 moa. I just got my powder charge dialed in. Should I mess with the COL now, 5 shots at 2.798, 5 shots at 2.800, 5 at 2.802? Or what would you recommend

The Lee bench primer tool is amazing out of everything I bought I would say it is one of my most favorite things to use. Super easy to tell when you have a loose primer pocket as well even with the extra leverage. As cheap as they are I would highly recommend picking one up when you have some extra cash.

I got the Lyman kit with the All American 8 press and it’s my first press for starting reloading and I’ve had to buy a few little things but it comes with some really great stuff in my opinion, loved the video keep up the good work!

A quality beam scale beats any digital scale under $200 you can buy for repeatability and accuracy. When a scale is +/- 0.01 grains that means it's accurate to within 0.02 grains at best.
Good advice to make reloading a lot more fun. When it comes to brass trimming, save your money for a better solution. For precision low volume shooting a precision trimmer from Wilson or Sinclair for higher volume something motorized and best of all one that trims, deburris and chamfers in one step.
I had a Hornady priming tool that got past the QC guys, I'd suggest trying before buying, and all said and done, RCBS universal or shellholder style or the Frankford are better to use. About the only priming tool I have yet to buy, is a Lyman and the RCBS bench mount. Newer Lee is not what the old ones were, QC is a bit shy on those as well. And one of the better investments is a prep station of some kind, it is a great way to take the tedium out of a lot of the brass prep and speeds it up.

The hornady hand primer works alright, those frankford loading trays are DREAMY, work so well and are dirt cheap on amazon, i have the forster bullet puller and honestly i hate to say its just ok, i have to pull the bolt out of the top and push the bullets out with a sharpie every time, gets annoying, outside of that i say get check weights, that way your loads are consistent across different scales
Imperial sizing wax. I have never had a case stick in the resizing die using this product. Can't say that about RCBS goo and pad or Hornady One Shot. I'm using a tin I purchased in the 80's still. Almost gone. Dillon lanolin lube is excellent also. Saves having to purchase a stuck case removal tool.
Yeah, I put imperial sizing wax in the last video on things you need, not want. I would still have the stuck case remover though, just in case. Murphy's law always applied to me.
@@taylorbokshowan5713 when i bought my stuff i had the mindset, the only thing that should be considered as "upgrade it better later" should be the press itself. everything else you should try to buy something that will last for the rest of your life, great quality and ease of use. funny thing is buying the good stuff individually cost just as much as the kit would of. well except for the really really crazy gadgets, but your going full factory automation at that point. but very very few re- loaders ever rationalize needing that kind of machinery. mostly competition shooters who shoot a lotta lead and hate reloading go that far.

I would have spent the money. I started with a hornady digital scale with thrower and tickler and moved to a rcbs chargemaster. The original set up worked great and would have for years but I wanted new gadgets.
@@taylorbokshowan5713 lmao yea, theres so much stuff out there you have to really really have to look and compare for reloading gear. every item i spend a lotta lotta time selecting the best gear for me i knew would last forever. while not over paying. i really really did not want to buy gear id regret buying later. i avoided all the electronic measurement tools, i went vernier calipers and rcbs m1000 mechanical scale. i got degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering so i can say for certain electronic measurement tools can really screw up readings and measurements. so i went old school mechanical precision measurement tools. for powder thrower i went lee auto-drum powder measure. every test ive seen performed it has a +- .01 grain tolerance just like every other expensive thrower out there. but it can be attached to the flaring dies and it auto-throws the powder when you flare the brass. it makes quick bulk loading so nice, don't gotta throw an extra lever or pour into a funnel. the m1000 is there for extreme grain precision loads. ive seen way to many nice electronic scales lie about readings. so i avoided all the Digital Powder Scale & Dispensers, to me those are bad investments.the scales misread way more then what is acceptible and they quickly degrade in quality over time. and a simple lee auto-loader can reload much faster and more accurately consistently.
The RCBS bullet puller is slightly more expensive than a kinetic bullet puller and infinitely easier to use. I regret every having bought/used a kinetic bullet puller, which all seem skirt the edge of functionality and just make a mess. I soon as I got the RCBS, it threw the kinetic in the garbage.
Curious on your thoughts on the Dillon XL650 for pistol and precision rifle rounds. I got a XL650 setup as a gift, and getting all the accessories to reload. Can a XL650 give me the accuracy in my long range shooting as much as a single stage? Love the videos, going through everyone now.
The 650/750 is a great press and will probably serve your needs. There are several tweeks that some do to those presses. The big downside to the 650 if you want to call it that is the priming system.

Totally agree, it is nice to remove primers before cleaning brass. This tool works well and I think it is like 10$.

I believe rcbs makes the best bench priming system. I have been using one for 28 years.

P C Have you ever tried Lee Lube. Great stuff. Not sticky water soluble and very little required. Easy to work with and remove.
Rcbs bench primer is a great tool
Seconded and it uses standard shell holders, preferably RCBS, but if the center hole is too small it's easy to drill out.

That new Lyman trickler is on my upgrade from Dillon list.
im just building my kit slowly. in the end you spend near the same as the kit but end up with premium stuff.
That's the way to do it. If you don't have a scale yet, just save up for an automated one. Post and beam is accurate for people that hate there time.
Ya and then you want something new or better and end up buying and selling. All part of the process

The Hornady trickler is a joke, a sick and annoying one at that. It’s the first inexpensive item I recommend changing.
