- The launch of Carli's brand new Carli SPEC shocks gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase what Carli really means when they say their shocks are "Custom Tuned." Follow along as we take a deep dive into what these new shocks are, their key features, and the amount of effort that went into their development.

Personally, I think Carli needs to develop a 2.5” shock with no reservoir intended for street/tow guys. By having a no resi 2.5” Spec shock you’d get a much better valve profile than the 2.0’s given the actual larger shock diameter, and the shock would be cheaper than Pintops because of no resi.
Sweet! I'll be getting my first set of shocks this year. Hope these work nice. I was wondering why the back country system was off your site
Great idea. I second the request to cater to the night edition look. Will these be available outside of a kit that would work with stock suspension?
These will not work with stock suspension, but we will offer black decal packages!
With a ton of trucks now midnight or blacked out editions, are they making a shock that will blend in with those type of builds?
We have decal kits coming for these! They’ll be offered in a few different colors including a subtle black out style.
I installed my carli spec backcountry level kit on my f250 yesterday! Can’t wait to get some miles on it!
We've been really impressed with it so far!
Looking forward to a video review from you guys
Just bought the Pintop for my 2011 F350. I absolutely love the ride. I wish it was slightly softer over small rough stuff like railroad crossings but overall I’d say I’m 90% happy with the purchase.
Kings get softer as they wear in. They need a few thousand miles to reach their prime.
@@Rhinopkc that’s what I was told. They’ve got about two thousand miles on them now. I’m thinking of checking the nitrogen charge and maybe let a little out. I understand they come charged from Carli at 265 psi and can be let down to 190. So I may drop them to the low 200s and see if they’re any better.
Remembering that nitrogen charge is more related to preventing cavitation than anything else. Shoot us an email and we’re happy to suggest areas you might be able to improve ride. Tire pressure is a huge one. With a properly set up truck with a pintop system, full packs, and tires at the right pressure, the truck should be very smooth. Shock break in is a real thing too.
@@CJCOffRoad I’m running 295/65/20s and I’ve lowered the pressure to 55 psi on all four tires. I’m not running the Deaver rear leafs because my airbags need the rear block. Thinking of adding the add a pack but not sure if the 2” block will be tall enough to work with the airbags.
@@secretsquirrel572 you should get the daystar cradles for the airbags so you’re not limited on down travel in the rear. Then you can run the add a pack or full deavers with no concerns.
Interesting shift from Fox, considering time integrated with them and custom tuning. I have had a Commuter 2.0 level kit on my 17 F350 with Fox 2.0s, sorta not as impressed. Is the same supplier fir Xarli Signature shocks now producing this line?
No it’s a different manufacturer for both.
Looking for rear shocks for a power wagon, hopefully they will have some soon.
Coming this year!
Do you guys sells rear shocks only for a 2022 ram 3500 with ram air ride
Not a tuned set specific to air trucks. We have off the shelf Fox and Bilstein shocks that will fit, but the Carli tuned sets are only available in full set of 4.
Would be awesome to hear what Carli looks for regarding ride quality
The goal is to be as smooth as possible! What that means depends on the system. For example, the Commuter is tuned to be as smooth as possible on the street, while the Backcountry is tuned to offer the best ride on road as well as light or low speed off road driving.
👌
Very cool. Now they can control supply for their kits. Do they have plans to also make 3” shocks?
For now Carli will stick with King for their 2.5" and 3" diameter shock packages.
I have the Backcountry 2.5" on my 18 F250. Around town - small bump ride quality has never been great. What kind of difference might I see with the Carli SPEC shocks?
These shocks are actually noticeably more sensitive around town, but from the sound of it your issue isn’t shock based. It sounds like it’s related to tire pressure, tire size, or other suspension setup. Do you still have the stock rear leaf packs?
Stock rear leafs and 20” wheels?
37” Falkens 45 psi front 40 rear. Carli Backcountry 2.5” Carli add-a-packs rear.
What do you mean by “more sensitive?” Better small bump compliance or worse small bump compliance in comparison to the fox shocks?
This is a standard shock 😲
To the untrained eye yes, but if you ride in one you'll realize it feels nothing like the standard 2.0 shock!
Glad to see them moving away from Fox since it took me 4 months to get mine. Hopefully, they'll provide these at a faster rate and I'm sure they will be stout.
That was the whole goal with this project. Since Fox unfortunately couldn't make product in a timely and reliable manner, they're now taking control of production.
Is everything made by King and Carli built in the US? Are all parts sourced from the US?
@@secretsquirrel572 100% of everything they do is here in the US.
No mention of nitrogen so I’m assuming these are emulsion shocks?
These are IFP Nitrogen charged shocks.
@@CJCOffRoad nice!
"Chrome plated steel" I thought one of the selling features of carli was a more durable ss shaft?
Their King shocks use a stainless shaft, but all their existing Fox shocks (and any other Fox shock for that matter) uses chrome plated steel shafts. Stainless shafts would significantly raise the price, which isn’t ideal when the 2” diameter shock offerings for the Commuter and Backcountry are supposed to be more budget friendly. Anything 2.5” and larger diameter King shock based is stainless.
Couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
@@JustDiesels Thanks for the explanation. Trying to research a kit myself.
Why not go with stainless shafts?
Stainless just doesn't make sense on a 2" shock as they're supposed to be more cost friendly, which is why these and none of the outgoing Fox packages had them. Carli does offer stainless shafts standard on all their 2.5" and 3" King shock packages however!
@@CJCOffRoad I see thanks for the information. Gotta save up for the kings 😅
I purchased the commuter 2.0 leveling system, and now I was told it would be 4 to 6 mouths to get my order after paying 6500 buck, real nice .
At least it will ride nice 😂
Do you mind if we ask where you ordered from? We have tons of these in stock and on the shelf! Our worst back order is only 2 months for the Ram systems that haven't been released yet.
@CJC Off Road I ordered it from Diesel power products out of spokehan Washington
They just shipped everything, but my shocks
I should receive a pallet on May 3rd via FedEx
I have a 2006 Dodge 3500 mega cab
If you have the shocks, let me know how much ,& I will just order from CJC OFF ROAD
thanks
Who makes them? The bigger guys like Fox and Bilstein the better the tooling the less leaks and longer life, in general.
I like my kings on pintop
Lost me at chrome plated shaft.🤦🏻♂️
King, Fox, Bilstein, etc. all come with Chrome plated shafts in their 2.0” shocks. No one makes stainless for an entry level shock - massively cost prohibitive. Step up to 2.5” reservoir shocks and you have the option to pay for stainless upgrade with a couple manufacturers but all manufacturers still spec with chrome plated.
