What is your opinion on a basic Carli commuter kit with 295/65r20s. 21 F250 powerstroke. Won't spend much time off road but lots of frost heaves in the roads around here.
You should do a video where you explain the benefits of each of the add on options for the carli suspension systems, and the cons on not choosing each particular option.
I have a 17 F350 Limited and put the commuter system with the add a pack on the truck and the ride went all to hell. Not sure if there is something else that needs to be done to get the great ride you guys talk about. As of now, it is the biggest waste of money I have spent on a truck. This thing rides like a log wagon now vs the stock ride.
Love this thorough comparison paired with footage of actually off-roading scenarios. So many videos just show someone crawling over a speed bump to show the difference.
This has got to be one of the best comparisons bar none! Stock truck popping a fuel supply line?!!! Wow, that has got to be some impact force to jar loose the fuel line clip!! Great job guys!! Nicely done!!!
Really incredible video and great comparison. I appreciate you linking me to this video from a comment I made on another one of your videos. Exactly what I needed. I really like my low mile clean 18 f250 rclb. It has the gas 6.2 light weight. Short wheel base and very capable truck. Just such a terrible ride. This gives me some hope.
No problem! It's tough to really explain what these systems do outside of demonstrating it in a video like this. All Carli's level height systems come in a gas variant with springs and shocks specifically set up for a gas truck too.
@ I probably should call your customer service this week. But I wondered about the Carli leveling kit. Just the basic one. Do I have to upgrade or do something with my track bar? Or will factory one work with this kit?
Most super duty’s running these same roads are bone stock with zero trouble but the difference your showing is very nice, and might prevent vibration damage that haunts heavy duty trucks
Fellas, I say enough about the full Carli Backcountry 2.0, 2.5 and Method NV 301 18x9s on 37x12.5 you sold me. It is a totally different truck. No more slowing down for railroad crossings.

Can’t wait to get my 7.3 Tremor out of the shop. I’m having the Carli E-Venture catalog thrown at it along with 37x12.5 Ridge Grapplers. Curious how it’ll drive/ride in similar higher speed scenarios with the good bit lighter 7.3. Then to spice up the 7.3 for more HP!
Great video, the performance differences between the stock truck and the Carli equipped truck are stark to put it lightly. The stocker doing its best dolphin impression over the whoops lol.
Good job on showing the difference. Once I get my Ford tremor. I will definitely be looking for some suggestions and recommendations. InPre order a 2021 Ford Tremor king ranch will have the winch as well. Thank you for the video. Very informative
Great video!!! Have not had my ‘20 F350 offroad, but I’m not at all impressed with its suspension on road. Shocks are way stiff, every bump is felt. Great video! What are your thoughts on this suspension for a stock 2022 F450? We just picked up our truck a couple of weeks ago and we'd love in improve the ride both towing and not. I don't think we can lift the truck since we tow our home (a large fiver toy hauler) and any added height would make us unlevel or too close to the bed rails...
The tremor actually has almost identical ride quality to a standard 4x4 Super Duty. We broke it down in a different video, but the Tremor suspension is not special in any way and offers very little ride quality improvement off road when compared to a fx4 or standard 4x4 Super Duty. A Tremor would handle exactly like the stock truck in this video did.
CJC Off Road - do you have any idea how much the new gas kits will lift a TREMOR? I know Carli lists the kit at 3” on their website but I’m sure that is for regular Super Duty trucks. I know the Tremor has a different ride height, so that why I was wondering. I’m anxiously waiting the release of the new Gas specific kits for my 2020 7.3L Tremor!

But I’m concerned with hooking up the fifth wheel and the towing characteristics with the system. Cjc you guys have experience with this? Also I just got the new air lift 5000 air bags will this work with the Carli 2.5? Or will that not work on it?
@@barrthom603 Give us a call and we can help figure out a solution that works. It all depends on the tongue weight/pin weight of the trailer, but the Carli add a pack is typically our solution since it improves ride while maintaining full towing spec. Great video guys! I'm now obsessed watching all of your videos and making lists of future purchases (from CJC)! Curious, how would the Carl suspension Pintop 2.5 king leveling kit work out in these locations?
We appreciate the support! The PT level handles well, but the factory rear springs definitely hold the truck back in comparison to the full pack shown in the video! It’s still very capable though.
If building/ordering a new F250 with the intent of upgrading to a Carli suspension, should we order a straight stock 4x4, or are any of the added options helpful - camper package (heavy service front springs/rear aux springs), etc? I'd like to avoid paying for hardware that will be removed.
Essentially avoid or consider any suspension option as a not essential part. Things like lockers or a winch that might come along with the Tremor package for example are useful though! The other thing to consider is that adding something like the camper package may get you the upgraded rear axle housing, which is a nice thing to have. Basically read through the packages carefully to make sure you get what you want, but assume all suspension parts will be removed.

The Tremor suspension is actually the same as a Factory 2018 F-350 in terms of performance, so a tremor would look just like the white truck in this video! The Carli suspension is a MASSIVE step up from factory ride!
@@CJCOffRoad Good. I like the diesels, but I don't think I need one. We'll see how it goes when I go shopping. I'm waiting to have a look at the '21 RAM. I really like what ya'll do. Hope we can do some "bitness" soon. Cheers!
I am buying an F350 4X4 crewcab with an 8 foot bed. I plan on putting a 4,000 lb (Wet weight) slide in camper. I want to put a 4 inch lift with 37's or 35's. I don't want to get too high to mess with the center of gravity when the camper is on. Thoughts on suspension add?
That is a VERY heavy caper to put in the bed, so you’ll want to keep the truck as low as possible with a 2.5” Carli system and then do a custom rear leaf spring pack from Deaver.
The crazy part is, thats the Pin-top. Just wait until the alumiduty dominator or unchained truck comes out. 3.0s was easily the best purchase I've made.
Would love a small lift over stock with 35's on my new 3500 Ram. I'm new to these trucks, what can be done to keep it close to stock for my trailer but give it a little softer ride?
@@CJCOffRoad I'm pretty new when it comes to trucks and lifts. I will be towing a 11,000 trailer about 6 to 7 times a year. Do you recommend a lift while towing. Also, i have factory airbags so I dont know if that plays into all of this. Was just looking for a possible small lift and a nice soft ride. Thanks.
37s themselves don’t make any more noise than a smaller tire. Tread pattern is the only thing that changes noise level, so just pick a quiet tread design and you’re set!
I noticed the 2020 test truck was the stock 4x4, are you seeing the same results with the "FX4" upgrade? I'm thinking the $400 upgrade basically covered the skid plates and box decal. They were supposed to be upgraded off road shocks as well.
Ford needs to see this video and do something about the inadequate suspension setup for even basic ranch work. I don't see how the stock F350 could handle driving around on my Montana property, what the hell ? Seems surprising incapable.
After making some serious money on DOGE. I will be buying this set up for my 2020 f250. But one question that I can’t seem to find is I have a f250 with heavy duty package which gives me a bigger differential and more springs in the rear. What package do I need for the springs???
I work in the oilfield and some of the lease roads I drive down are down right horrible. Im really looking into investing in this. I pull up to 18000 trailers in my truck. How does this hold up to the weight when I'm pulling?
I would suspect you lose some towing capacity with this Carli suspension. With the addition of airbags...how close are you able to get back to the advertised stock towing capacity?
There’s several options that we covered in the video. With the full pack shown in this video, you retain 85% capacity. If you add the right airbags to that, you keep full capacity and keep ride quality. If you do the Carli add a pack leaf option, you also keep full capacity without the need for bags. The full pack option without bags will ride the best.
Hi CJC, Do you guys recommend or work with any shops in the Tampa, Orlando FL area ??? Looking to buy some of your kits for my Ram 2500 5th gen and I’m looking for a quality shop to do the install.
We have a few shops we work with in that area: Extreme Performance (Lower Central), American Muscle Performance Dan Grimm (Southern), Ostar Motorsports (Central). Hope that helps!
The coils, shocks, track bar and small supporting parts like brake lines etc make it possible. In the rear travel is increased with the shocks and leaf pack options.

That is a VERY heavy caper to put in the bed, so you’ll want to keep the truck as low as possible with a 2.5” Carli system and then do a custom rear leaf spring pack from Deaver.
what size rims were on the white truck.they looked likr 20s other one looked like seventeens.
Unrelated, what front bumper is on that 2018? Looks good.
Our own!

The crazy part is, thats the Pin-top. Just wait until the alumiduty dominator or unchained truck comes out. 3.0s was easily the best purchase I've made.
How does pintop differ from dominator or unchained?
@@user4567-d1n pin top is 2.5 dominator is a 3.0, and the unchained was bypass 3.0. And on the dodge its a 3.5 front and a quad bypass rear.
@@user4567-d1n look up the video on their page about the dominator 4th gen.
Joe Hansen Sounds badass. Thank you will do
For the money is Carli better than thuren on a 2016 ram 2500?
Would love a small lift over stock with 35's on my new 3500 Ram. I'm new to these trucks, what can be done to keep it close to stock for my trailer but give it a little softer ride?
The Carli and Thuren levels are a nice option! They offer between 1 and 2.75” lift depending on the options chosen, and improve ride nicely!
Thanks.
Do these two trucks have the same engine, trans and axle ratio? If so how does the miles per gallon compare, real world? Thanks...
What is the interior noise like in the Carly F250? Has the suspension insulated the body from the added noise of the 37’s?
37s themselves don’t make any more noise than a smaller tire. Tread pattern is the only thing that changes noise level, so just pick a quiet tread design and you’re set!
Any shops in Denver you recommend? Also how much should one expect to pay for install of these kits?
I noticed the 2020 test truck was the stock 4x4, are you seeing the same results with the "FX4" upgrade? I'm thinking the $400 upgrade basically covered the skid plates and box decal. They were supposed to be upgraded off road shocks as well.
There’s unfortunately no upgrade in suspension performance or shocks with the Fx4 or Tremor package.
It'll be so cool to go off road in that lifted truck!
Ford needs to see this video and do something about the inadequate suspension setup for even basic ranch work. I don't see how the stock F350 could handle driving around on my Montana property, what the hell ? Seems surprising incapable.
If you think this is bad you should see a new GM truck in the dirt!
After making some serious money on DOGE. I will be buying this set up for my 2020 f250. But one question that I can’t seem to find is I have a f250 with heavy duty package which gives me a bigger differential and more springs in the rear. What package do I need for the springs???
You have the F-350 rear springs, but they’re the same parts as an F-250 for either the Carli add a pack or full replacement leaf pack.
can i bring you my 2021 tremor for all these cool upgrades and for the install?
Absolutely!
I work in the oilfield and some of the lease roads I drive down are down right horrible. Im really looking into investing in this. I pull up to 18000 trailers in my truck. How does this hold up to the weight when I'm pulling?
Just fine! There’s lots of options for whatever you need to do with the truck on the Super Duty platform!
Did you burn the stock truck afterwards?
09:15 surprising how terrible the stock f250 flexes and crawls for being a sold axle
is there a difference in ride quality if i increase my carli pintop 4.5" to 5.5" on my 2020 F350"
Wheel size, offset, level of trimming required?
How do you end up with 12” of travel in the front from 6-7” of travel? What cjc components make the truck have more front end travel
The coils, shocks, track bar and small supporting parts like brake lines etc make it possible. In the rear travel is increased with the shocks and leaf pack options.
You guys have any bumper options for the 19 Ram 2500’s with front parking sensors and Adaptive Cruise Control sensors?
Waiting on AEV and a few others!
I am trying to figure out what the backspacing your running on the innovation wheel.
This truck is on a 5” Backspace wheel which is the recommended Ford spec!
@@CJCOffRoad Thanks, one more question. I have the 2020 F250 and I want the same look as the truck with the lift what size rim is that and what bolt pattern?
Cody what front bumper is that. Looks clean

Can u help slowspeeds out with suspension for his truck ???
Do any of the systems come with skid plates? Are they compatible with dacorty skid plates?
They do not come with skid plates, but are compatible with all factory skids.
How does Carli compare to BDS ?
