Great Video! The Diesel option is getting less attractive because of this build. Carli tinned shocks are the best!!
But what would the fuel mileage be for a Diesel?
@Kaven Gilbert Initial 10k sticker price, higher maintenance costs, Diesel fuel cost, Def fluid....etc etc
@@ToAstYNaChO
If you're towing, and putting miles on the truck it's worth it. Full synthetic Schaefer's oil change roughly every 8k-10k or so with motorcraft filter costs me $92. Change out fuel filters every other oil change $78.
Mpg on cooper st maxx 35 are 20.4 mpg unladen doing the posted speed limit. 19.4 cruise set on 76mph.
Towing with 24' car trailer roughly 8K set at 68mph I get 13.8mpg through the hills and down to myrtle beach.
If you can afford it, and need it it's worth it.
@@cooverbennett4383 Oh absolutely. If you genuinely DO tow very often then it makes up for it. But for 90% of truck owners, the gas is usually a better bet
@@ToAstYNaChO
This is true. I'll be Interested to see how much this new Godzilla closes the gap. The old 6.2 was ok, but was kind of a dog towing moderate weight through the hills.
I like how this guy explained everything
Carli is top notch.. I have their system in my Ram 2500. So much more than just a lift kit for looks. These systems are designed for people that actually go offroad.
@Jay Mack depends on the system. even the basic starter commuter kit is a big improvement vs stock on road ride. lot of guys tow heavy with the carli systems with no problems. theres 2 sets of rear springs reduced load and normal load capacity. and they also have long travel bags if you want.
I’m surprised that the conversion/suspension shop didn’t recalibrate the speedometer, given the significant modifications they made.
It's not that easy on new trucks. FORDscan doesn't allow that much adjustment in the calibration without throwing check engine lights
@R J with 37's? I don't think so...
Carli is a suspension manufacturer not a retailer/installer - they’ll R&D the suspension but leave the electronics tuning to the facilities servicing the end user. This was a custom build and it was communicated that the truck was headed straight for the tuner after the camper installation.
@R J fordscan does not go up to 37's
I thought that same thing.
I’ve been hesitant on buying a Carli lift kit for my ram 2500 for 5 years now. I couldn’t justify the price because I just couldn’t find real owners sharing their experiences.
I really enjoyed the video and now I’m confident on spending the money because i now know Carli Knows What They’re Doing. Thumbs up.👍
Oh well take a look on FB at some related groups.

We're always chomping at the bit to show off what the trucks are capable of, answer questions and debate the 🤬 out of everything, LOL.
Enter Carli suspension off-road in the search field here on RUclips and watch the suspension on these trucks in action.
I really want to see a whipple supercharger on that super duty, great round out to the build.
To bad it will be close to 10k for one. Ice looked for a charger for my 6.2 and they are all 6k to 8k. It is ridiculously expensive to supercharge these motors
Whipple is already hard at work making one it's numbers so far say that it nearly doubles up and torque not to bad
Gears and bigger fuel tank are a must for a true overland rig.
Completely agree! 4.30 gears and aftermarket larger capacity fuel tank. Does anyone know if a aftermarket tank marketed for diesel only.....from Titan of S & B would actually work in a gas engine truck??? I went to the Ford website.....looked up the part numbers for the fuel tanks...both gas and diesel...the fuel pumps are different...but, it appears the opening for the fuel pump / lines is the exact same diameter. Makes me wonder if the Ford fuel ( gas ) pump will work ( same or different threads ??? ) on the diesel tank from Titan or S & B.
That is a beautiful top of the line suspension lift. Wow!
Total cost of these upgrades costs like 4 times what I paid for my entire car 😂
Great seeing TFL go for the best of the best on this build!
The amount of lifted trucks in Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, Temecula and the surrounding communities is the perfect place to take the Super Tremor to get its suspension upgrade. Kudos to Carli!
Andre', one of the best TFL video's ever. Super Great content. I have been waiting for this set up for my 7.3, and Dan has been great to deal with in a call and emails. If you get a 5 Star calibration that will yield y'all more power, adjust the tranny shift points and adjust the speedo, and possibly gain you .05 mpg. I am looking forward to the next stage of this build. Thanks for all the hard work and info you guys provide in helping us consumers make educated decisions on what to buy in the aftermarket.
That guys level of suspension geometry knowledge is absolutely incredible..
@ulh pilot Don't have to be an engineer to know. All anyone has to do is watch the Carli suspension videos here on RUclips. The Carli suspension has been proven time and time again.....off-road...where it counts.
Now the truck gets the same MPG as the current Tundra.
But not near as reliable.
Barry Hussein Soetoro prove it
Jeremy C there’s many many tundras with one million plus miles out there. Fact. Show me a Ford or any other manufacturer with countless trucks with one million plus miles on them. Good luck. I’ll wait.
Barry Hussein Soetoro I haven’t seen any million mile tundras with 5.7 v8, can you please provide a link. Thanks!
Rottie that’s amazing! You’re crushing the EPA estimates! Please share your secret.
Kudos for calculating the mpg with the actual distance. When he reset the trip meter in the beginning I thought he was going to take the reading off the gauges
Akhil Ghosh exactly what I thought, awesome to see that attention to detail
Went from 3k to 8k real quick with like 2 clicks on that pintop. Damn, nice.
Speed makes a huge difference! When I had my 2017 4runner with 3.5” lift and 33” tires,
the speed made such a difference! 60-65mph I’d get 17mpg highway and once I got near 70mph or higher it would be 15mpg or less
The falken tires are impressive. I have them on my 2500 and they’re phenomenal. I have about 25,000mi on them and they’re great
This is awesome! Just picked up my 19 f250 6.7 to replace my 4x4 sprinter and i am going the exact same lift and camper. Great choice
Great video and a beautiful build on this 7.3. Looking forward to seeing how that suspension performs with the camper off road. That Carli suspension is clearly world class.
This is so beautiful. God bless America and the beautiful trip these guys are going to have across it.
And God bless the hard-working, creative, and industrious men that made this beautiful machine possible.
Had the same set up on my 06 super duty and love it. It has zero body roll when going around corners and went towing it super smooth.
Super happy you chose Carli Suspension!!
I got P rated Wild Peaks last fall - best tire I've ever had. Smooth on the road and sticky when wet.
Glad you got that out of them. I got rid of the wildpeaks I had. Slipperiest tires on wet pavement I've ever had on my truck. They were 285/65r16s.
Excellent video! Could not pick a better company to team up with. I have been waiting on the gas engine front springs to be released. Great job TFL as always.
Those black rims look sick. Also digging the tires. Nice build.
Waiting on my Carli 2 inch (2 inch springs from Thuren for 6.4 Hemi, Fox 2.0 Carli shocks, and Carli Adjustable track bar) leveling kit for my 90's style gen 5 build. Can't wait!
This video makes me proud to be from SoCal. As crazy as we are, we produce some damn fine product.
Carli the best in the game. Had them on my Ram 2015. Awesome.
Dang it. Why does my future build keep getting more expensive.. oh yea I watch tfl
That guy explained everything perfectly. We like to know what we are buying thank you.
A dream machine for an ultimate Road Trip. Nice job...want!
Ok, THIS is the most exciting thing you guys are doing; I'm super excited to see how this series progresses.
Dan at Carli is the best. My 2014 and 2018 have the best systems that Carli offers. They are an amazing American company. Nothing but great people work at Carli. They take the upmost pride in their work and their product shows. I would never drive a Ford truck that doesn't have Carli products!!!
Yeah.......the Carli suspension with Fox 2.0 or King 2.5 shocks completely changes the truck
I have the king's on the 2018. It is a phenomenal ride. Especially with the new sway bar. Definitely a happy customer
You guys might want to swap the gears for 4.10s since you’re running bigger tires, a 2,000 lb camper and going off road. That 7.3 is a beast but it doesn’t have diesel levels of torque.
It would be worth putting gears in it to at least get back to the factory 3.55 I had a 92 suburban with a 454 awhile back that I put 37s on and I left the factory 4.10s in it for a yr or 2 and it averaged 8mpg. I switched to 4.88s to make the truck think it had the 4.10s and my fuel mileage went back up to 10-11mpg
I agree, 4.10's at a minimum, and a custom 91 Tune from 5 star. This will return your original gas mileage for better overlanding. Anyway, its still a sweet truck! Ill keep my eyes open for you guys as you come through Idaho.
Agree change gearing, doing so much work to it already then might as well do it all and throw in a limited slip up front to make it real super tremor
There's no way this thing will run out of torque 😂
@@brandonmartinez9259 Please understand how gearing works , the 10 speed 1st and 2nd gear are actually steeper than the 1st gear on 4l80e. In 1st gear the 10 speed with 3.55 gears is equivalent to 4l80e with 6.xx rear gears that's how steep the 1st gear is .
Wish upgrading trucks and cars wasn’t so expensive.
It depends
In Europe raising and upgrading a Peugeot 205 will cost 500eu to 1000eu with all new parts / junkyard (for parts non longer manufactured) / refurbished
This build is great guys! But I hope you're going to do something about that front air dam. Maybe even a steel bumper?!
I'll never have 8 grand for an optional part
really nice build Andre. You should do all the builds :D Some of the previous TFL builds were...lackluster. This is much better.
Well, I know where I am going to get suspension for a Super Duty if I ever modify . Really nice stuff.
So it is going to feel harsh empty, unless you carry 2000lb's in the back when no camper, surely there must be a system that lets you have comfort empty, arr how about airbags as most seem to use and are very effective.
There must be a way to re-calibrate the speedo to the taller tyre as it is all computerised anyway. Love the build definitely would not like the bill once finished lol. Also once you have the camper and gear in the bed your fuel mileage is going to suffer, and yes I know it is popup but it is still taller than the cab, I ran similar on my Chevy doublecab LUV and the mileage suffered because of weight and wind resistance so hopefully you will do another mileage test once fully ready to go overland, I found even just having a top box on mine it was thirsty so always remove the top box from then on when not in use.
That's what I was thinking. The Raptor engineers expect you to desert run with a bed that's empty or has a couple hundred lbs of gear in it. I wouldn't want to fly down a desert trail at 80mph in this truck either. The Raptor does well in most off road situations, but it's bread and butter is high speed and I definitely wouldn't try that in this beast.
Bro, the video says like 3 times they were instructed to build the suspension with the 2k lb compensation and the shop even needed to go get a custom spring pack built because their regular springs are meant for a standard truck. TFL is going to run that camper in the back long term. I have no idea how you didn't pick up these points in the video.
You can fix the speedometer with forscan. The software is free and easy to use. It's also powerful so be careful with changing to many parameters.
TFL by far the best channel I've ever watched I'm hooked!!!
Awesome! This truck is so badass! What a great system and awesome tires! Well done Andre 🍀
this is a fantastic build, once you get the speedo corrected those transmission shift points will adjust a bit too, and that MPG might change. it actually might improve a tad...
It certainly won’t be worse and the transmission will be happier
Ford with a nice built, what could be better... Hoping to build one of this on my channel too. Great work guys!
Suuuuuuuper Trrrremooooooor!!!! Love the build and love how your guy walked us through the ins and outside of the prolift and suspension setup!!! Happy trails TFL!!!!
So I bought a raptor too bad this video wasn’t made about 7-8 months ago love my truck but I could for a nice XLT super dirty and went this route lol saved some coin too
The HD rear leafs in the back are like F550 springs. Sweet.
That was a great walk around and they are the professionals, great job!
Andre…you are the best ever sir. You get to do awesome things. And this is my truck except a 23 Lariat 7.3. Thanks for your guidance.❤
this is going to be my favorite series on youtube
I have a Carli on my 16 superduty. Well worth the money.
That factory sway bar is the reason I ended up selling my 2017. Violent shaking when hitting potholes on the freeway is not a fun time. Wish I would have had something like this installed
It’s the Anti-BroTruck! The Bizzaro Bro! I thought I would hate this, but it looks and functions fantastic!
Love the video. Thanks TFL. I. More excited about the F250 than the Gladiator actually. It just looks imposing and badass
Wow, never hear of them. High quality stuff. Will follow along.
That suspension kit is amazing. Some better looking rims and tires would of been better but it will do
We all know this won’t drive like a raptor. You’re not gonna pull anymore than 12 inches of travel rear but I still love you guys!
At least you acknowledged that the trip computer on the truck was off. I see alot of people running larger tires and still use the uncorrected trip computer to figure out miles. If the speedo is off, the tripmeter/odometer will also be off.
All in on this series.
You should consider bigger axle gears, like 4.10 or 4.30 and on top of restoring your proper overall ratio, it might actually improve your overall MPG with the newly added weight and height compared to staying with a 3.55 ratio. Anyhow, great truck and keep the videos coming !
I think you’ll like the Falken AT/3w’s. Good grip in all conditions... even rain and cold temps!
That’s right I have this set up on my ram 2500. It’s very highly recommended
Great video. Love the truck and what you did to it, I owned a 2020 Ford F-350 limited and I love it we owned a Jeep so the truck twos it and it is awesome
Absolutely excited for this build can’t wait to see where you go and how it handles, I’m currently saving money for my own Carli suspension. I’m going with the same size tires and wheels different brand I love NItto that’s what I’m going with. One thing I would highly recommend which I will be doing to my truck is regearing the only way to give you that mechanical advantage back and also give you better MPG’s closer to stock. And get them teaPMS sensors we calibrated along with the speedometer. Can’t wait for the next video in the series.
That robotic welding jig is pretty badass
This channel is a fave!! I love all the stats, comparisons and tests! Keep up the good work!
Heck yeah! This was an awesome video. Loved the in-depth conversation. Awesome!!!
That 37" upgrade looks like a speeding ticket waiting to happen without calibrating the speedometer
A new bumper with winch would be nice over the factory bumper with plastic cladding. However, you guys did a great job building that truck.
Now that the factory aerodynamics are messed up from the lift there's no excuse to keep that giant air dam.
Completely Agree!!!
I’d see if Furd would send you a set of the factory blacked out LED headlights and even the tail lights.
This series is why I am subscribing! Can't wait for more.
That guy knows his stuff.
Want to see a high speed desert loup with the camper in the back.
These guys know what they are doing
Andre has been eating good during the pandemic!
Like me, he’s a MOG. (Man of girth). At least he’s not a mega MOG (275+)
I’m a victim of the “Quarantine 15” (lbs.) and not happy about it!
Great video, the truck looks awesome, these Carli blokes really know suspension.
I put a ICON STAGE 5 on my 2019 superduty. The ride quality is amazing. Thanks to Aftermarket HQ in Las Vegas, Nv
This is a very impressive company.
King shocks are absolutely amazing. I have them on my F150, and I call it my "BabyRaptor..."
Handles better than a Raptor on-road, but is every bit as capable as a Raptor off-road.
Tundra fanboys must be drooling what you can do with a Ford. Real American truck.
Both trucks are great for their intended purposes.
That F250 w/ Godzilla motor and stock suspension gets better mileage than my ecoboost F-150!
This guy Carli is very good!
So I have 3 questions: 1) Did which exhaust system did you install in order to fix the cut exhaust? and 2) How do you fix the speedometer being off after you do a lift like this? 3) Did you manage to fix the TPMS issue, if so how? Me personally it would drive me nuts having a light on in my dashboard like the TPMS.
Thanks, guys! I was wondering how to do the conversion.
This truck eats Gladiators for breakfast.
Look at Roman rockin' the dad bod!
11:32 I love what Carli is doing just like everyone else. But this isn't the first time I've seen the owner struggle to sell the benefits of those radius arms. In another video he admits that there is nothing wrong at all with the stock radius arms and they never fail. Basically, there are only two reasons to get them 1) they look really, really cool and 2) they give you a little bit more clearance if you are running wheels and tires that need it.
If they’re adjustable they help center the axle
powerstroke help would be proud of those caster shims on this build
Not bashing Carli systems or King shocks at all, they are 100% the best option for HD trucks. But my truck rides like a dream with 2k lbs in the bed too.... just sayin... Unloaded ride is the question! (And the answer no doubt is that it still is awesome).
Are you going to replace the stock fuel tank with a larger one? You should be able to get a 50 gallon one under there.
Titan and S & B make aftermarket replacement tanks for Class 2 and Class 3 trucks with diesel engines. I could be wrong, but I tend to think the diesel tank from either Titan or S & B would actually fit, hook up and work on a gas engine truck. However, they do not advertise it or sell it for gas engine trucks. In the past.....12 to 15 years ago, Titan sold extra capacity fuel tanks for gas engine trucks...but not now. Probably because of CARB and other government EPA regulations.....and or the cost to have a larger capacity gas tank be CARB compliant is prohibitive to Titan and S & B. You can thank the "sky is falling" climate change tree hugging freaks.
I can’t wait to watch the coast to coast videos, really wish I was with y’all on my bike
It looks like a nice build.
What is the GPS app used when showing the trip for the mpg test?
It is called Altimeter GPS+ (Speedometer) by Tigran Mkhitaryan
CA lawmakers: Did he just say bump stock on the axle😳👀
I got the 2021 F350 TREMOR... Goliath 7.3...
I upgraded from a 12 Raptor I customized... it was awesome, but this 1T is crazy....
I need the camera for rge front...
I can't keep up with you guys, lol
nice setup...and nice pop up 4 wheel camper
Andre get the trucks cpu recalibrated for the new tire size and it will give you a little better fuel mileage and change the shift points on your transmission for better fuel mileage and fix your speedometer.
There might be a discrepancy with your fuel mileage in California because the fuel additives they use. My 99 Dodge used to average 13 mpg living in California I moved to Texas and my fuel economy actually raised to 15 mpg. Funny as it might sound but they oxygenate their fuels more by raising the ethanol content which supposedly lowers emissions but causes the vehicle to use more fuel because ethanol is alcohol which burns faster and cleaner but also means that in fact you are using more fuel to go the same distance. I would like to see what the differences out of California
