    I do like the 2 person explanations. Sometimes whenever one person is explaining something, they overlook things they consider common knowledge. In this case, one guy was acting as though he didn't know anything about the shocks, and asking questions as though as though he was a customer. I dig it.

      He obviously knows the difference between the shock quality, and the nuance of preload, and damping, and how that effects ride performance. But an expert?

    Hi,
    I chose a 2.0 coilover with an external adjustable reservoir from Profender on my SIERRA 2015 6.2L engine.
    Also upgraded upper arm, added rear upgraded solistic shuckles BUT kept OEM springs.
    Shocks gas is at 150psi since am using for daily use and sand offroading.
    Car on humps or dampening either feels to stiff when or just bangs when i reduce or increase the "clicker" of the reservoir i cant get the right feel of rebound and of higher speed on sand i feel am loosing control and body roll...do u suggest i check the gas level or springs?

    Does the Vertex Coilover ride almost like a stock ride when set at the mildest setting? And also is there a minimum lift height? I own a 2020 Chevy Trail Boss and am considering the Vertex Coilover but would like to add only an additional 2" - 2.5" on my Trail Boss ride height on the front end.
    2nd concern is I just purchased a set of Black Rhino Primms 20 x 9.5s with -12 offset from Custom Offsets and if I decide to go with the Vertex Coilovers...will my wheels fit being that I only want an additional 2" up front? Or do I need to go higher(4" inches)???
    FYI...wheels are at your facility(order #528260) on the assembly line/QC line. I am SUPER EXCITED!!!

  • @larrydivine3394
    @larrydivine3394 4 года назад +1

    The adjustment knob shown, is that for compression or or rebound damping? Can I get both? Preload, yes it will make the shock stiffer but also sets suspension sag. Sag is needed for negative travel (ie; pot holes) where the tire drops down.
    Valving has everything to do with the ride. How quickly the oil move through the holes determines how quickly the shock compresses and/or rebounds (Based on adjustments and preset valves).

    @GgRae-gv1tg 4 года назад +6

    Stiffer doesn't mean better. Unless you're jumping it like the Dukes of Hazzard. You're really the only thing your shocks need to do is keep your tires in contact with the road and absorb impacts to protect the suspension and body. Bilstein come standard on the Mercedes Porsche. I put the Bilstien 4600"s on a Ford F-150 SuperCrew and it rides better then day one coming out to the showroom floor. And more importantly on the highway effortless it just stays where it belongs and rolls right on down the road it's a lot easier to drive that's comfortable too

    I was hoping more for a video that explains what each shock does as far as if I am have a Baja truck, “this shock” would be good because it can keep the dampening consistent on a run, or if I was a rock crawler, “this type of shock” would be good because.... or if I was a daily driver and a weekend light off roader, “ this type of shock would be good because”.... this video seemed more of a technical explanation which was a little beyond me which is not a hard core off roader so I still don’t know which shock to get for my type of off roading as far as mono tube, coil over, bypass, remote coil over etc.....

    The key to coilovers are not like those. It is the dual spring coilovers with different coil springs one softer than the other. The soft spring for small bumps and graduation to the stiffer spring for larger ones. The ability to set the valves on bypass reservoirs and coil overs like Kings for the weight of your vehicle and the position sensitive valving and rebound (speed of return) is f ing amazing with speed over rough terrain not spilling your drink in control vs crashing, rolling and getting stuck. Thanks again Bret for my Bronco shock work. After thanking you at the Mint 400 I saw close pics of BJ and said nice pic when did you take this ? She mentioned the kids with him and said I was on a mission to the King trailer. I said do you know who this is ? No she said I said BJ Baldwin and he may have come with or sent a message he runs them too LOL Bret smiled with thanks and introduced me to The King of Kings.

    You ever met someone that has so much knowledge, then you ask them how they did something and they have zero clue how to explain it they’re just gifted. That’s this guy he knows what he wants to say but he just doesn’t know how to say it all. Do a barbershop style Q&A with this guy he’s going to drop a ton of jewels and I want to hear them all.

    What’s missing in these reviews is the impact to your vehicle towing capacity. Especially if you go with a coil over vs a standard shock replacement. As well if your vehicle is a truck with airbags, or spring options. I get it jeeps, light trucks vs HD truck applications.

    Coil Overs look better but they help you get rid of the other spring so it’s easier to work on also

    6:05 info about emulsion shocks is incorrect. An emulsion shock has the fluid and the gas in the same cavity i.e. thats the emulsion. in IFP shocks the floating piston separates the two.
    IFP prevents aeration of the fluid and improves damping/ reduces shock fade.

    This review lacks information. Can you give information vs probly, maybe, I guess explanations. What are the temperature differences between shocks. Temp reduces dampening effectiveness in shocks. That’s the reason to upgrade your shocks. I would have to say your tire reviews have more meat. I have watched tons of RUclips videos on truck accessories and this was kinda of weak. You guys give great information but just left me wondering why I watched this.
