Turbo=Japanese Car
Supercharger=Muscle Car
well yes actually. superchargers have a parasitic drain from being belt driven. big american v8's have the least parasitic loss with superchargers. so small 4 cylinders dont usually make alot of power with superchargers, thats why they always make the most effective hp out of turbos.

I'm pretty sure (if you're referring to signal indicators [aka turn signals]) they were not offered on that model.
Try changing your blinker fluid

What the fuck is that? Where do i get one
Added: The unique sound of a twin screw supercharger (the whine) is the sound of the air being compressed. It litTERALLY hurts the air until it screams. BOOM!
It's sound of straight cut gears which synchronize and drive both lobes of supercharger. Similar sound have racing gearboxes.

Plus, people behind me will figure out that I'm going to turn from me slowing down *before* I go into the turn lane, which they make way too long, in my opinion. If I get rear ended because I slam on my breaks and screech through a turn 15 feet from the intersection, it's all their fault anyway because that's how the law works." - way too many drivers on the road.
At least some of them give you a heads up by not bothering to replace and pound out the mammoth dents in their mangled rear end, with the rear bumper hanging on by a prayer on one side, and skip-dragging on the other end, throwing sparks behind them. That's why so many female drivers get suvs, they know they're going to trash it and fuck up. If they're driving a sedan, they'd just end up killing themselves and the little jerk offspring that causes mayhem with their constant adhd fueled marathon of kicking the back of the drivers seat, and punching the headrest, running around cause mom purposely omits the car seat in hopes the little fker will fly through the windshield one day when she slams on the breaks in order to make a turn 15 feet from the intersection. CPS doesn't give a sht, they just want her to stop abusing her kid's adhd meds, and leaving him at gas stations because the amphetamine manic psychosis episodes that make her think he's a gremlin, and that she's driving a spaceship. But the robot cyborg police keep bringing the little gremlin back to her house, slap her on the wrist, tell her she should be ashamed of herself, and then race to the scene of a police shooting because they forgot their drop gun, and need one quick so they don't get in trouble for shooting an unarmed black man, in the back, while he was gathering donations for the salvation army. Bring back Bart!
He is both turbocharged and supercharged
Turbos are spun up by exhaust gas, superchargers are spun by a pulley on the engine assembly. Same function, different ways of spinning it up
That is why turbos are lagging at low rpms
And therefore different boost curves, so you can manipulate them by tweaking and changing sizes of wastegates, pullies, AR wheels, etc, etc
@Mr Sunshines A Turbo is widely recognized as a means of forced induction that uses exhaust gases to power it.
A supercharger is widely recognized as a means of forced induction that uses the crankshaft to power it.

Well of course it helps it mean that it won’t break down in the first 3 years no guarantee on the fourth 😂

Maybe to show that even with all that forced air in such a short amount of time your engine still won’t blow up, guaranteed!

6:10 why he put water in it if it already has air in it ?
Visual representation. Gives normies a better idea I suppose.
Fisicks (the spellling mistake was on purpose)
I prefer Superchager Whining sound over Turbo Flutter sound
Because 'Murica
Flutter is actually caused when you do not have a blow off valve and instead let your extra boost pressure upon a closed throttle pushed back the opposite direction through the turbo.... It sounds cool, but it's hard on the turbo do that. trying to force air in the opposite direction that the turbo was trying to push it
@@JoeIsCrazyWillman so it's like farthing backwards/inwards. It's not healthy!
@Mr Sunshines oh and what the fuck was he supposed to say I like the way a supercharger whines over the way a supercharger flutters? Have you not realized that literally no one gives a shit, they refer to em as turbos and superchargers cause they are mechanically different they do the same thing but are different all turbos are exhaust driven a majority of superchargers are belt driven. People use these terms as a easy distinction and it works.

Usually, big channels like this make the most cringe videos when trying to seem funny. To my surprise, this is actually funny and good info.
Gratz boys, keep up the good work!
oh he's VERY cringe-worthy... he keeps mispronouncing centrifugal; that doesn't seem to be a regional variation, he doesn't seem to actually know how to pronounce it, so he winged it (and failed)
@@chouseification I think he is referring to other channels making Cringe-worthy more in terms of weird terrible memes and goofiness.
@@saturnmedia1 I understand, yet this video is still loaded with cringe. If they can't even say basic words correctly, many will /facepalm and often just turn it off; if they can't get such simple words right, they probably don't understand the concepts either. :P
chouseification lmfao what? My guy do you even know about the concept of different dialects? Just because you say a certain word one way does not mean everyone else pronounced it the same way. Oh and btw mispronouncing a word is in no way cringe. It’s actually quite funny hearing people mispronounce words sometimes. Lastly this guy has not only proven that he knows a lot about cars, but also nobody thinks “oh he mispronounced a word, that means he doesn’t know anything about cars”. If you think like that then you’re probably the idiot who actually knows nothing about cars. Rant over

As a mechanical engineering student and former race mechanic, a lot of this information is old knowledge for me. But these videos just keep getting better and better, I absolutely can't stop watching. Keep up the awesome work.
Patrick McCarney how do people make money in that industry? Because I only ever hear of Shelby, Hennessy, and Rousch....
Patrick does engine with turbochargers last longer or less
@@jonathanerickson1543 I totally missed this, but there is definitely money to be made in racing even if you aren't one of the largest companies. I think the biggest thing is finding your clientele and place in the industry. I have experience both in the engine building side of drag racing and in the circuit racing part of the industry working as part of the pit crew for endurance and short series racing, building cars from the ground up, and repairing a wide variety of cars from Pro Formula Mazda and Ferrari Challenge to 1956 Devin Roadsters in classic series'. Although race shops often sell products, most that are not street oriented tend to focus on the service side of things to make their money. Selling vehicles is also profitable for these shops because private owners often place their cars on consignment with specialty shops. I'm sure others do it differently, but based on my experience service and vehicle sales are the big money makers for a lot of race shops.
@@ahmedracing1821 Honestly it depends entirely on the application, use case, tuning, and maintenance of each individual vehicle. For example, a small engine that utilizes a low pressure turbo to create just a little more power to improve drivability while maintaining good fuel economy will probably last longer than an engine that utilizes a turbo to create 1000+ horsepower to be used for racing. The same thought process can be applied to naturally aspirated or supercharged engines. A naturally aspirated engine that is making a lot of power through the means of bigger cams, increased stroke, higher compression, etc. will likely fail before a turbo engine that has the main goal of fuel efficiency. If improperly maintained or frequently run under heavy load, either engine could fail prematurely. So, all that being said, there are a lot of variables that determine an engine's longevity. When choosing or building an engine having a solid plan or goal in mind should be the first thing you do. From there, just make sure you keep up on the maintenance and any engine could theoretically last an indefinite amount of time (subject to natural mechanical wear and replacement of those worn parts of course).
@S N To be a mechanical engineer absolutely. Most mechanical engineering programs will require several levels of calculus and differential equations (linear algebra isn't usually required but can make other coursework easier). Additionally, most of the fundamentals of engineering are calculus based such as physics, various mechanics and dynamics courses, etc.
On the race mechanic side of things, math is still very important but is not nearly as advanced in practice. As a race mechanic, you will need a basic understanding of algebra, geometry, and possibly some calculus (for the purpose of understanding physics). As a race mechanic, I mostly used basic math/geometry for measurement and fabrication purposes. The most important skills to have for this job are a good understanding of automotive systems, problem solving and diagnostic skills, computer skills for data logging/tuning/diagnosis, and the ability to not get burnt out. If you have the drive to continuously learn and work long hours, then I'm sure you can make it if you want to. It definitely isn't for everyone, but I certainly wouldn't trade the time I spent as a race mechanic for any other job.

TotalSalle Use Tuercks car as an example! Lol
But true antilag like in old Bimmer F1, EVOs, Celica GT4 and Audi quattro S1, not this fake 2 step shit.
Pietrek L sorry to break it to you, but they're the same thing. Only difference is when it's on.
The reason street cars don't run constant antilag is because it absolutely destroys the turbo/motor.
I helped out a team who own one of the Audi S1 Ap1 cars and even they didn't run that aggressive antilag just because it was too expensive.
I’ve owned an anti lag system for nearly 10 years and never used it once (1994 Celica GT4 WRC)
Neg Ative eh probably don't need it. It's a pretty small turbo and you'd only really need it on a tight track.

Awesome videos ! Subbed ! 👍🏻👍🏻
This is cool love the show! As a pilot I will say we see turbos and superchargers diffrently! Superchargers are a benefit for high altitudes but at the downside of loss of engine power to the propeller due to it running of the crank. Turbos on the other hand require special attention to use because we don’t want to throw the power around making the blow off valve over work! ( my university teacher on aircraft engines put it like this “see planes are built strong enough, hollow crankshafts and etc so we have limits and that’s why if you even touch the red tell a mechanic!) so it’s cool to see this from the aspect of a car enthusiast and pilot when I see these videos!! Keep it up! Also ps old ww2 fighters ran both turbos and superchargers 🤯
We talked about turbonormalizing in our turbo video... Cool to hear from a pilot!
