    AHHH DANG! I just finished building my ProArt 8550-Creator machine last week - with an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. Used Crucial Ballistix 32 GB DDR4-3200 and Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD. Only downside to this board is the second M.2 slot being PCIe3. Would have been so nice to have this. Loving my system so far! Looking forward to watching nonetheless to see what choice you made. Works Great with Plex and Handbrake.

      @timotmon 3 года назад

      Yeah B550 boards don't offer PCIE-4 through the chipset, but unless you were planning to raid those two m.2 slots you shouldn't really notice a real world difference. Also the fact that you don't have to deal with an onboard fan to the chipset is a bonus in my opinion. Enjoy your build, I'm having a great time on the ProArt B550 myself!

    Did you know you can edit in Reaper now? Yup, along with the Audio Reaper are now having Video editing, awesome - I'm still going to use resolve, cause while i know how it works, I love how Reaper does audio and is really good for poor music students and start ups and personal use, it can be a bit of a maze for finding effects and editing effects. Also you can use it for free for ages, but it's best and more honest to buy and register for $66!! I don't work for them i just like what they do for the price.

    My choice in building PC was either I could get to the very theoretical T of PC and silicon valley. OR I could simply just trust Tech notice. I chose the second option and Never regretted that decision.

      Plug that sucker in directly via the 2.5 port and enjoy your faster internet! Wifi sucks. Sorry Tech Notice ;) love you but i'll never understand the obsession with wifi on desktops. Bluetooth is a fair point but there's USB adaptors that work great for that plus when a new bluetooth version comes out you can easily switch dongles.

    The Be Quiet Pure loop had good reviews in some online benchmark tests, I believe it did a little better than the NZXT Kraken series of coolers from NZXT, I have experience with NZXT Kraken AIO coolers, and they work very well... I used the X63, and X73 models..... I used the X63 on a Ryzen 3800X, and the X73 on a Threadripper 3970X they cooled the CPU's very well while under load, I never seen them exceed 71 degrees Celsius during Cinebench R20 benchmark tests.... If I were going to look at a AIO Liquid cooler other than the NZXT Kraken Series AIOs I would likely try the Be Quiet, or the Arctic Liquid Freezer Series AIOs as these two AIOs have good reviews.... Thanks for the videos

    What’s a “good enough” graphics card that’s cheap and works for a music workstation and compatible with this MOBO? (Just a DAW and plugins). I’ll never play video games on it or even open any kind of Adobe product. Just music. Graphics card prices are insane and I don’t want to spend any more than I have for my needs. EXCELLENT VIDEO btw!

    The Ryzen 5600X got a higher Cinebench score than my Ryzen 3800X did.... so it's an improvement over the 3000series CPU's at least in the Cinebench benchmark.... I believe my Threadripper got 17,700 something.... I don't recall, I believe Ryzen 7 3800X got like 8,800 something....

    I m liking the whole entire process. I got the same mb but got a ryzen 5 3600xt with their own wraith cooler. Is the ryzen 3600xt too underperformant for the pro art motherboard before I stick it on permanently...I use blender, maya and all adobe cloud subscriptions like editing and will do AR someday? Also there is a thunderous shine in your video that is cast on the cpus when you show them in the video. So maybe lighting or whitebalance? But overall good video and good process and entertainment during covid.

    I just ordered the b55 with 2 pci gen4 m.2 drives. Since it only has one gen 4 slot, would you rather use THE GEN 4 slot as a system drive, or as a files drive for video editing?

    Hi
    Can you tell me the sequence of Qled lights. As in my system I get yellow, red, white and green. Also the system checks briefly after I shut down from the mains. I mean it starts and turns off and starts to boot normally. I would appreciate if you can provide some info. Thanks.

    Is true that the two PCIe x1 slots share bandwidth with the 2nd M.2 slot? I see a review that says if you have two M.2 SSD then you can't utilize either of the PCIe x1 slots without dropping the 2nd M.2 slot down to PCIe x2 mode on this motherboard...

    • @timotmon
      @timotmon 3 года назад

      This is true. Downside to B550 is lane allocation. The Third PCIE3 x4 slot also shares bandwidth with thunderbolt. To beat all that would be to leverage thunderbolt through daisy chaining so if you have a pcie device that you would like to use consider using a thunderbolt pcie enclosure.
      In reality, nobody should buy this board unless they absolutely plan on taking advantage of TB4. If you are one the few, congratulations because it's awesome.

      When using 2 GPUs the x16 slot becomes x8 and you have 2x x8 slots. And make sure your 3090 is slim enough to fit to the 3 slots :)

    M1 ftw, costs nothing in comparison, dead silent, faster at the end of the day in most cases because its not just render time what counts. no windows machine will be faster overall no matter the build, its also dead silent and cool.
    you can always sell it in a blink of an eye and upgrade the apple way.
    Pc market is dead atm, gpu prices are just way, way too insane, boggling down the entire pc new and second hand market.
    etherium transaction costs have increased 300% last couple weeks, this will make it even worse and no end, in sight for now.
    if your needs can be served by an m1, go for it, its fast af, just incredible, and no windows pain, a thing that always is part of the pc world.
    love the pro art creator, such a beauty of a board. but atm no reason for most people. a mac mini costs nothing for what you get.
    its so energy efficient, doesnt heat your room up like crazy in summer. macOS is always a breeze to use on top of that.
    Pc for special needs, gaming, or if money is not a concern.
