Today we are looking at my first Phoibos Watch on JWJ...

I have owned a couple of their watches before, a good while before I launched the channel.

Phoibos makes a good budget friendly watch without being a homage. This is a nice example.
I think the watch doesn't sit well on the wrist. They case shape is too flat and the effectivene lug to lug is quite considerable.
Visually, it's a good looking watch. Red flags go up on a bad bezel, and a bracelet you can't take off. That's a shame. Thanks for the review.

I like the logo, John. Coul they have thrown in a PT 5000 for the money? Super lume,... pity. about the bracelet and the bezel; apart from those issues, it's perfect. Cheers 🍻!
I wish they didn't use orange on this variant. It would be so clean if they stuck to black
Good review 👍. I really like the case shape and dial, but I think the lugs need to turn down more as well as having better articulating end links (and being able to remove the bracelet too!).

Ok, this bracelet is a lot like the seestern 600t, it's also an absolute beast to remove. You have to open the bracelet so you can get in there and you MUST put it in a watch vise. Then do the left side first, get it loose and put upward pressure with the left hand, then go after the right side. Repeat on the other end. Damned hard to put back in also.
Greg...come on buddy. I know how to do the very basics. This one is jammed in and I can see the springbars are actually bent to get them seated. Broken two normal tools and my pincers just not able to get enough purchase to pry the bracelet out :(
Love my Phoibos Voyager and you can't argue with their pricing but this one seems a little bit big for my spaghetti wrist.
Regarding the bezel, when I was about the pull the trigger on the Voyager a lot of people/reviewers mentioned the bezel was very tight. So I ended up picking up one from the next batch and my bezel was great.
Hi Richard. I have had two Phoibos watches and the bezels were fine apart from a slight misalignment on the Voyager which a little heat rectified. Very surprised by this bezel. I really think I just got one that slipped through QC. A shame given it was a review piece and looks amazing!
Great looking watch from Phoibos. Shame about those issues, could just about live with that bezel, but a "non removable" bracelet is unforgivable. As you say, hopefully just a one off. Great review, as always !!

I don't know what it is, but something about their case shapes has always put me off. This one is no different! It's just a personal thing, and I don't say that to put off anyone else from buying it as they are probably the Chinese watch company I respect the most! Great review as always John! ⌚️

The shape of the case is interesting, I like it, but not the polished part on the bracelet. I really like the blue and red dial, maybe even the yellow one.

I knew this bracelet was weird, now you can’t get it off?
Well, generally I like the bracelets design but the Integration to the case doesn’t look right. No real transition just "bolted" to the case.
Overall I don’t like this design of the piece but that’s subjective, but then, that silvery dial looks nice, those stripes in some form of vortex would be nice to have.

Thank you, John, for your excellent review. These QC issues are not good at all. It is surprising as Phoibos makes great watches overall. However, as you noted, this could be just a bad unit. I think for those interested in this watch, more research is needed. Be well my friend 👍

Looks like a Proxima PX1703 - check it out.
Not really. Reviewed that 6 months ago. The Proxima is based on a Christopher Ward light catcher case and a Zodiac design of sorts :)

Phoibos is more and more nice with great design,good quality,they have there own personality who make diference with the other chiness microbrands...good job phoibos..mh favorite is the phoibos leviathan in blue

That bracelet doesn't match the watch at all. I don't know how Phoibos missed the mark with this. Brushed H Link would have been perfect.
Lug to lug is too much, I don't like the look on the wrist
