I've always found the complaint about the 40mm PRX strange. I have tiny 6.25" wrists so thought I would go for the 35mm. I tried it on and it was tiny, so I tried on the 40mm and its perfectly sized. I've never regretted going with the 40mm.
I have skinny wrists and tried on a PRX recently too. The 35 was tiny, but the 40 was just a bit too broad on account of its end links. Maybe I should try it with a rubber strap?
I own a Seastar and his take on Tissot here is especially bad. It's one of my favorite watches and an outstanding value. Then again , I don't have the wrists of a 16 year old Dallas debutante.
got a laugh out of this vid jaja... although the Omega NTTD "issue" is really not an issue at all... i think is one of the bestwatches ever.... some day, some day....
I have myself a handwound watch and it doesn´t bother me a bit. It´s better to have a handwinding mechanism without automation than a automatic without handwinding imo.
I have a rather nice vintage Universal Geneve Polerouter which suits my thin wrists perfectly, but for a reasonably priced everyday wear watch I bought a Citizen Eco Drive. My first was bought in 1999 and was one with a solid stainless case with no removable back. It is still going strong! In about 2018 I treated myself to another one with a black Titanium case. Both are in my opinion very good watches for the money. By comparison to either of the Citizen watches the automatic Universal Polerouter is a slim and lightweight watch with a beautiful mechanism.
I've got two Omega Seamaster's, one is 37mm & the other is 41mm. A good question to ask a jeweler is "does the manufacturer use plastic or metal gears? That is usually the difference between a $900 watch versus on that is twice the amount. A cheap maker is Invicta. Any of their watches tat are under $100, is a close out. They are also known as gaudy & oversized watches.

I'm fairly new to watch collecting, and SO FAR, I've not made too many horiffic mistakes, at least not expensive ones anyway. Accidentally bought a vintage Doxa on Ebay, having only seen it very briefly late at night while half asleep (Totally my fault), and when it arrived, it was half the size I expected.....Bloody ladies watch, not a gents. My ex boss bought that one off me. The other mistake was buying a REALLY cheap 'Mechanical' watch, that I wanted just to take it apart, and it turned out that the seller was lying, and it was quartz, dressed up with fake cogs to look mechanical on the pics! Hadn't lost too much on that, so no massive harm done! Bloody sick of seeing Tissot PRXs now LOL. Not a fan!
I've followed Your stories since 2019. Better: I've studied Your stories for the last 5 years. So I'm very happy You've just reached the 1 million, Andrew. Congratulations! You got me, and walked me, into watches. And I can tell You: I'm a guy who's very picky and very very hard to catch. And You did it by just (very well) telling stories. I owe You one, Andrew. At least as much as You'd owe me ... for making me spend a real fortune in money ... and wonderful life time. Thank You so much, Andrew. Keep up the better work and, if I may, remember: The good stories will stay forever while the screams will (sooner or later) fade away. Let's celebrate!
Totally agree with your comments on the Casioak.. I have the Black out version went out one day with it upside down on my wrist didn’t realise till I was asked the time.!
What a great video! Should remind everyone, that there is no „best watch“, no matter what influencers might want to tell us (looking at all these shiny BB58 videos…). Rather there MIGHT be one, that ticks a lot of boxes for an individual.
I don't understand the horological fascination with "...the ideal case size." If there truly was an "ideal watch case size" than every watch would be that size and only that size. And of course a 39mm from one brand does not wear the same as a 39mm from another brand. Heck, even two 39mm cases from the same brand in different models don't wear the same. Much like shoes or anything else we wear. And while generally speaking large cases look best on large wrists and small cases look best on small wrists...everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's not really for one person to judge or even say how someone else should spend their money unsolicited. I say all of this to say...there is not "...an ideal case size". There is merely the case size that you prefer, that you think is attractive and or that you think gives you the most confidence. Anything else is conjecture and or speculation.
I had no idea that the blacked out Casioak existed. It sent chills up my spine. It's something I've never seen before. Sorry, not sorry Richard Mille. Is the Casioak an atomic bomb? A watch possessed by a demon? Strap it on and someone will have to call a priest. The H. Moser & Cie Vantablack watch is so black it reflects no light, but somehow the Casioak's black is blacker. It scares the shit out me.
I have a collection of watches that embrace Rolex, Seiko, Citizen, Tag Heuer and recently the Tudor BB54. It’s so refreshing to wear a watch that doesn’t dwarf my wrist like the Rolex, Seiko & Tag Heuer. It’s the watch I wear the most because it’s an understatement and does what all watches should do tell the time and not be flipped as investments or shout “steal me”.
- My Tudor preference is the Black Bay M79230B-0008 41mm with the white hand set, and matt blue anodised aluminium Bezel insert for a little color. I Prefer the slightly bigger size. STILL has the retro signed crown with the Tudor rose, Domed sapphire crystal, and Rivet bracelet... A modern / retro look(LoL), the best of both worlds. - TISSOT preference is the GENTLEMAN POWERMATIC 80 SILICIUM T127.407.11.041.00, I just don't like integrated bracelets and the PRX. - Love the Omega Speedmaster Pro Chronograph... it's on my list, and I DON'T even like CHRONOGRAPHS.
I don't think you give the luxury watch crowd all wrong. I have complete faith in them that they are capable of winding their watch. I have no where near that kind of wealth, and I manage to charge my phone every day!
You may have got a fake Navitimer, if the dial is messy.I've two navitimer, an old Cosmonaute and the last BO1 edition, and I can assure you that there is no problem with the dial or the slide rule.
you are so right I loved the casioak design got one and could not see a thing. Plus it was as if the last 20 years of user interface optimization had been obliterated so hard to use I had to send it back regretfully
I bloomin love my Navitimer and I am unashamedly comfortable running around with my arms outstretched with my Biggles goggles and flying hat on going 'neeeeeeeeeeowwwwww'
I've some of these watches, the Black bay, 2 Speedmaster (MkII and x33), 3 Seamaster (Peter Blake, Cosmic and Aquaterra), and the lots of G-Shock and I love them.
As readable as Finnegans Wake! I got a chuckle out of that one. Most of these watches are way out of my price range. The only advice I can give from the lower price range is that if you have an hankering for a vintage mechanical dive watch, you can't get more appropriate than a real vintage Seiko Turtle. A true tool watch that has been worn by more real divers than just about anything else. They were made to last, require little maintenance and IMO are a great looking watch. The winding won't hack or manual wind, which is a minor inconvenience to me, but may be a deal killer for others. It is a big watch, but it still looks good on my smallish wrist.
I have a vintage Seiko Turtle which I bought in the 90's. I was told many times that it was a nice watch but worthless. I think I only paid about $20 for it. It still runs great and is finally getting the appreciation that it always deserves. Personally, I've always liked it!
How does the omega sea master professional go from the greatest watch ever made in your opinion before to steer clear unless I’m missing something here
You missed the theme of this video. Which I believe was...... as great as each of these watches are, there may be ONE reason why it's not right for you. For this Omega.....if you like some weight in your watch, as many do, this titanium watch might be too light.

Negative Display with Casio G Shock need to be improved or eliminated as they impede the functionality of the watch. I just bought my 1st G Shock GBA 900 Red and while the watch looks great the digital display is hard to read in anything but good lighting conditions.
Nice, I'd even own a few. My current fav--and my cheapest by far--is all whimsy and fun, the Pagani red-sapphire-bezeled moonswatch homage. Armed with superior specs, this 97-lb weakling beats the $350 (usd) Omega biocerplastic bully at its own game. If I put it on in November, Spring arrives. When the sun lights up the snowy dial and missile subdials glow, I'm at Aylsham Show, wanting to bite into this giant lollipop of a watch. But nobody's being impressed, you say? Just me; who else matters?
@@htschmerdtz4465 Exactly the word i would use to describbe that company, so it still seems fitting. I dont even think they have 1 "own" design in their whole catalog.🤷♂. Sorry
Ahh, superficiality. Can you find me any Omega legacy metal or mechanism in the biocerplastic Moonswatch beyond the outward appearance? Oddly, the best description I can find is, in-house counterfeit. At least the Pagani uses its own logo. And even at 5x the price, the moonswatch can't compete with Pagani's 316 stainless case and bracelet, sapphire glass and bezel, machined clasp. I'm sure you won't want to talk about those of course, and that's okay. @@Kilimanjahro
@@htschmerdtz4465 Dude, I think the “moonswatch” is the biggest joke since sliced bread. You will never catch me trying to defend that piece of overrated plastic😂😂. Me gusta mucho el Black Bay, pero es muy caro, su mantenimiento ídem, por no hablar que te lo pueden robar. Lo mejor es ir con un Casio FW91 que ese no te lo afana nadie 😂
Just so you know, even full size E6B computers don't always match up! That's right; even though they may be 3"-6" across, the markings don't match up. Hence, it would be unrealistic to expect the markings on watch like the Navitimer to match up. Secondly, concerning the Breitling Navitimer, there are other, less expensive watches that also have a similar look and function. I'm talking about offerings from Citizen. Their Navihawks, Nighthawks, and Skyhawks also feature an E6B bezel similar to the Navitimer's. However, they're all far less expensive than the Navitimer. Finally, because the Navihawks and Skyhawks have atomic timekeeping (denoted by "A-T" by Citizen), so they'll tell much better time than the Navitimer ever could.
To scratch that slide rule bezel itch, you can start down at Casio, go up thru Citizen, and land at Sinn, which is more or less more a Navitimer than a Navitimer. :D
As a retired airline pilot with over 35 years experience, I can tell you that the so called Breitling Pilot's watch is both ridiculous and impractical. As a professional, I used and considered the Rolex GMT II to be the best all-rounder for a professional aviator. That aside, a watch for Pilot's needs to be uncluttered, easy to read and give good illumination. A stopwatch function is handy but not necessary because all flight decks have a chronometer with stopwatch functions.
For me the Tudor Black Bay Bronze with slate dial is the perfect dive watch. I love mine and in addition to the grey leather and two different fabric straps from the factory have had quite a few made for it. I think though I'd prefer it in steel, as it can be a pain to keep bright (have to do the ketchup thing every couple of months). Why on earth they don't make a proper sized 43mm steel Black Bay dive watch baffles me. Instead as you mentioned they came up with some stupid wee thing at 37mm, I tried it on at WoS and it looked like it had shrunk in the watch. It's a ladies' version. Mind you my smallest watch is an early 00s IWC Doppel at 42mm, with a Panerai 514 the biggest which measures 47mm but wears surprisingly modestly. I have an 8in wrist, hardly uncommon these days. I really don't get why so many recent releases are 1950s-sized tiddlers. People are quite a lot bigger today than they used to be 70 years ago.
For those of us who know how to use it...the circular slide rule on the bezel is incredibly useful. Not just for flying, but in a restaurant, calculating a tip... when travelling, knowing instantly how much things cost in our own currency...
My advice? Live your own life. Forget about your critics. Excel at your occupation without hurting others and their careers. Most importantly, No Worldly success can compensate for failure in the home.
Does this watch exist? Diver 40x20x12 including glass. 47 or less lug to lug. Date option at 6. Drilled lugs or quick release bracelet. Bracelet 20 down to 16 back to 20, screw links. New style extension and 1K or less. Automatic
I'm thinking of getting an Autavia recently, and I'm leaning towards the bronze version I've never owned a bronze watch though, so I'm not sure how I'll feel about the patina later on I'm starting to think i should go for the stainless steel version to be safe Anyone here owns the watch and would like to share some your experience?
I have experience with the bronze Autavia and it seems to have some sort of coating that prevents patina. My other bronze watches turns green, along with my wrist. My Autavia does not. I bought a bronze Autavia, sold it and regretted immediately. Bought a new one and it stays.
I’ve got one TH Carrera and a few more cooking watches. As much as I love the Carrera the two Tissots I bought for two of my sons are very nice indeed - esp the Gentleman (naff name) Powermatic on the brown leather strap. I do though have a hankering for a Seiko Prospex Solar and which might be an early New Year pressie to myself if there’s a deal to be done anywhere. Buy what you like and can afford, not what anyone else tells you to buy.
sometimes you hunt & might find a watch you think maybe this is the ONE but then it happens all of a sudden you realize that the watch only comes in a certain size/ style /color ect ect BUT ! wait a thought occurs maybe they might make a different model or perhaps the the watch you desire just has not been invented yet? this conundrum is not an easy problem to deal with and sooo my conclusion is that i will have too wait for either a new / updated version or just go ahead and pull the trigger ...while possibly still waiting ?!

As an owner of a black-black Casioak, I concur it can be really hard to read and don't get me started on the mediocre light that last .5 seconds. With that said, I still wear it more than my other watches.
Can't you change it to 3 seconds? That's what I did.
5:50 James Bond the suave murderer? Murder is a legal definition referring to an extra judicial homicide. As Bond is "licensed to kill" his killings are considered justified and legal in the eyes of the state. Therefore not extrajudicial and therefore not murder.
I’m starting to find Andrew’s opinions questionable ever since he ranked Apple Watch higher on the chart than Patek
You don't get it, simple! It's fun, don't take it too serious...
@@ernestkrajnc6412 That isn’t a watch it’s a gadget. Might as well add a phone to the list because it shows the time
I've always found the complaint about the 40mm PRX strange.
@@nk6947 mines on the bracelet. I do have quite flat wrists, which probably helps a little
agreed. i didn't end up buying either, but the 35 seemed so small on my relatively skinny wrists.. the 40 was a good size to me
I own a Seastar and his take on Tissot here is especially bad. It's one of my favorite watches and an outstanding value. Then again , I don't have the wrists of a 16 year old Dallas debutante.
The Navitimer is an iconic chronograph. In no way should anyone ignore it!
I have one it’s an awesome watch
Every one of these is awesome, and you should buy two. Vintage diver craze....Oris says it's about time, we have been here a while.
I have a Tudor BB blue bezel in 41 mm.. wear it everyday. Love it
Congratulations on you 1M subscribers! I have been watching this channel since the pandemic, and it really got me into watches!
got a laugh out of this vid jaja... although the Omega NTTD "issue" is really not an issue at all... i think is one of the bestwatches ever.... some day, some day....
6:15 Adjusting the timing bezel requires unscrewing the 2nd crown, right? Will water enter the watch if bezel is adjusted while swimming on the surface of the water? Recommended action or not?
What dribble is this, speedmaster, navitimer, nautilus are iconic, some of the greatest and personal favorites within my collection
How can you crucify such classics..some of us like winding watches and changing gears.. Well presented..as always.
To summarize, if you are brain-scattered, undecided and easily-influenced, than keep watching different channels and listen to everything that everyone says. If, on the other hand, you know what you like and what you want, just go for it, and “Damn the torpedoes.. “ :) Cheers!
I bought a G-Shock in dark blue, and I can barely read the time, never mind anything in the LCD areas. Time to move it on, I think.
Not a fan!
The advice on the CasiOak was so spot on.
You are a hell of a writer. I kept cracking up during the whole video. Great job!
I didn't hear a reason to avoid Tudor. Can I order the ceramic or should I cancel?
Which Longines model was that?
Legend diver 👌
Legend diver bronze. Normal one is stainless. I have this watch. Love the patina.
I bought a 54, I love it so much. I don't like wearing my other watches now. I know that wears off sometimes but I don't think it will.
Cool, learning what not to do is a great short-cut.
Thanks Watchfinder & Co. friends.
Loving that the sarcasm is lost on most. 😂
I'm on the hunt for a new watch for around $1000 and I'm so glad I found this channel. 🇦🇺 😊
Anybody know what the strap is on the BB54 0:54? Been looking for something similar for my 58 for ages.
Have to admit that that also happenend to me. The strap is just so symetrical
This is a pisstake right ? Feels like an April Fools video
“Three times cheaper”? As in 66pc cheaper?
What a great video! Should remind everyone, that there is no „best watch“, no matter what influencers might want to tell us (looking at all these shiny BB58 videos…). Rather there MIGHT be one, that ticks a lot of boxes for an individual.
But seriously though.... BB58 is a magnificent watch... no video can justify it's beauty. you have to hold it and witness it with your own eyes
@@r.sakarollsafe1285 You are not far wrong. I have the black / gilt one on the strap. A beautiful watch.
"Too 3D". Very good! As good as "Too much perspective".
I never know when he is serious or not.
I know! He's never sirious... 😎
Great video :))) The only thing is that it is about 10 watches to potentially avoid :)
I don't think you give the luxury watch crowd all wrong. I have complete faith in them that they are capable of winding their watch. I have no where near that kind of wealth, and I manage to charge my phone every day!
So good to finally see you in your videos
I was thinking that, I wanted to purchase the Tag Heuer Carrera Date 36mm. Do you think it's a good watch for my first luxury watch collection?
The best voice in horology
Loved it. Great idea and executed perfectly.
You may have got a fake Navitimer, if the dial is messy.I've two navitimer, an old Cosmonaute and the last BO1 edition, and I can assure you that there is no problem with the dial or the slide rule.
Get the BB58. It has the perfect proportions and quality. If you like a more modern look get the blue, otherwise the OG black is the one to get.
you are so right I loved the casioak design got one and could not see a thing.
The Black Bay Pro in 41 or 42mm would make it perfect. 39mm is too small.
thanks for this. clearly insightful
This is the equivalent of insider trading. Big up a watch, sell it at a premium and then say it is crap and buy them back. Et voila lol
You are missing something... 😁
Great vid andy! Have the tissot PRX powermatic on blue rubber strap as my weekend watch and my omega aqua terra on both blue rubber and stainless steel bracelet love them both still have my great tissot elegance from my lovely dear departed mum from 20 years ago as a birthday gift! I buy what I like and nothing else should matter and all watch gifts should be embraced regardless! BTW love your videos, especially on your own channel 👍👍
What do you think of Baume et Mercier 10468, dark blue watch?
Negative Display with Casio G Shock need to be improved or eliminated as they impede the functionality of the watch. I just bought my 1st G Shock GBA 900 Red and while the watch looks great the digital display is hard to read in anything but good lighting conditions.
Doesn't Tissot have plastic parts in the movement?
“Part watch….part DeVinci code” 😂😂😂 not for OLD eyes….for sure!
My Bond was beautiful but my issue was the tan just made legibility annoying. Otherwise it would have been a lifer.
"Navitimer, part watch part Davinci Code." I spat my coffee out...😂
This entire video sounds like a GTA 5 radio commercial lol
Thank you! Really helpful 👌
Bruh, i had to stop reading at "Pagani".
S'okay. Somebody has to be superficial. @@Kilimanjahro
So having gotten that out of the way. Do you have a innovative design or even a “original” Pagani to turn me to yet, or can you not find one? I don’t mind being wrong, I just never seen one so I was hoping you could help with that🤷♂️.
Andrew, the writing here is spot on! 😂
James Bond.. suave murderer.. that one was a HOME RUN!!!😂
Almost 1 million subs congratulations man
The Navitimer-- "part watch, part DaVinci Code."
For those of us who know how to use it...the circular slide rule on the bezel is incredibly useful. Not just for flying, but in a restaurant, calculating a tip... when travelling, knowing instantly how much things cost in our own currency...
I had enough of slide rules in high school. @@VampireParrot

Automatic
I'm thinking of getting an Autavia recently, and I'm leaning towards the bronze version
I've never owned a bronze watch though, so I'm not sure how I'll feel about the patina later on
I'm starting to think i should go for the stainless steel version to be safe
Anyone here owns the watch and would like to share some your experience?
I have experience with the bronze Autavia and it seems to have some sort of coating that prevents patina. My other bronze watches turns green, along with my wrist. My Autavia does not. I bought a bronze Autavia, sold it and regretted immediately. Bought a new one and it stays.
@@boldold Thank you for sharing
My no1 piece of advice is. See the watch in the flesh and try it on. Until you do. You will never know how it wears or looks on you.
I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of NKUWAN . Their timepieces are of exceptional quality.
Never buy a watch you’ve never tried on and if it doesn’t make you feel heart racing excitement buy something that does
