Wow! Love Greg and his videos on CG and MCC. That was the best shill and pitch for Masterson's WW&S that I've seen so far. Kudos young Dale Carnegie Jr. This is what makes Greg so captivating. His good looks and mellenial Hipster vibe makes you want to dirty up the hooptie and start ordering product like a crazed Long Island yenta watching QVC. My God, what kid wouldn't want to make six figures cleaning bugs and tar off of Grandpa's "67 Plymouth Belvedere...hell I would. You're smooth Greg. Fact is, properly detailing any car takes more than an hour solo or with a couple mates. And if anyone is hitting you up 50 quid for a waterless wipe down and vacuum, you're getting schnookered.

How i can do it ? Pre wash , two bucket wash , clay, cleaner, sealant or wax , detail a wheels, tires, plastics and interior. This all in one hour? Maybe wash and apply a quick detailer or spray wax but this is not detail

AutoDbacz he just gives you the formula @50.00/hr. If u know numbers then you don’t have to do as many cars per day. If you don’t have a wash and wax in your business, then you should.

This Bloke is not explaining all the info. This is a Maths Lesson.
Charge what everyone else is charging.
Set a Minimum Hourly Rate. ( you don't tell the customer, Just for your own Calculations )
Remember Polishes & Cleaners are Expensive !! & Micro Towels.
      Advertising & Fuel are expensive.
Why don't Main Dealers & Large Garages offer this service ? 2 Reasons.
      1) not Viable.
      2) the customers think a Full detail should cost £20 / £30 & take ONE HOUR !!
Customers are THICK as Pigshit !!
      3) Big Sales Showrooms want a customers car to look dirty & Shabby so they will buy a NEW Car .
So they can Buy it Cheap , Clean it up & sell it for £2000 PROFIT.

Their / your vehicle at the workshop.
Minor Illness / You / Customer/ Customers Kids / or Old Folk etc.
      Dog gone to the Vets,
Bank Holiday weekends ( UK Days when No One works )
      Machines Broken / on Order,
Polish on order not arrived on time,
TRUST ME EVERYTHING & ANYTHING WILL GO WRONG , ALL DAY EVERY DAY.
I Run a couple of Businesses in Two different Trades & skills For this Reason !
& Looking for a 3rd business to add to it all.
I Was VERY ILL in Bed for 2 weeks in December = NO Income !!!
Then 2 weeks over Xmas Holls with No work due to Holls, = 1 month no income.
Then a very quiet January !! Almost Bankrupted Me.

I like the breakdown but he never calculated drive time & fatigue. Here in SouthFl, this can be an issue unless he's thinking of mainly serving condo garages or workplaces & stays onsite. Very ideal at best but it can be done, I just do it differently by charging more with less volume.

While prices will vary in my market I'm sure some people will pay the price while others won't be able to pay it. I do believe that word of mouth is also a great helper. Sometimes your work has to speak for you.

Yes add 10 mins travel to each job = 50 mins left.
      OR
80 mins of travel time per day.
What about Days when it Rains ?
      Ice & Snow for a Month ?
Frozen cars until 10:00 am. Frozen cars at 4:00 pm. = 6 hr day in UK winters = 7 months in the year.
I Did the JOB we had a heated Garage to warm the cars & dry the water off them.
      RAIN WATER !!
You can go Many DAYS in Britain & a Car will never be dry unless indoors & heated Due to Damp atmosphere.
Even on hot Summer days cars are wet with Dew & condensation early in a morning.

Yes I Agree there. Fuel, Materials & Equipment etc. MOTOR TRADE INSURANCE is Required by LAW in the UK. COST = £££ Thousands SILLY Money.
Insurance in case you accidentally Damage a car.
Advertising , Business cards & Leaflets etc. A Website & all the Costs involved,
A Decent IMMACULATE Vehicle & Sign writing. You Cannot arrive in a Battered Rusty old Van !!
The Only Low cost way to start is as A Teenager very local to home, or Illegally for a while until the money starts to flow in. ( Not Recommended )
OR throw A Years Wage in a pot to live on, Then £5,000 worth of equipment.
The only Way is to Build a base of regular customers
New Customers will have extra dirty cars, & you will need to explain the whole process & pricing structure & Menu of services offered & possibly VIEW the car before giving a fixed Quote.
Do they want the Boot / Trunk doing ? Engine bay ? Seats, Carpets ? Scratch & Swirl removal ? or just a basic Clean ?
      £25.00 OR £500.00 ? or ? ?
Just a wash & Vac & Glass & Dash ? As a regular job Or a MAJOR ONE OFF CLEAN to Sell the car ?
They Might Pay £500 once if they have just bought it, / Or About to sell it ? but not every 2 months NO WAY !!
Some will want a ONCE ONLY JOB.
Others will want all 3 cars in the Driveway done twice per week. That is where the £25 / £35 per car comes in £90 for all 3 cars.
If they Get you set up with Next doors cars at the same time £80 + £80 & no Travel time or fuel wasted. This is where you can do a deal.

You work longer hours, you up sell, you figure it out. Maybe car washing or detailing doesn't work in your area year round. Do something else, adapt. Make your own products or RUclips videos. Come on $50 dollars for just a car wash? Bullshit.
Now if you're washing the car and buffing and polishing the car then yeah you could make between $50-$150 depending on the condition of the paint.
(But $50 dollars for washing and drying a car and cleaning and polishing the rims and tires witch would take around an hour to an hour and a half at the most then you're basically ripping the people off.) But if you're in a city where there's people with a lot of money then the sky's the limit.

For the people who say, who would pay $50 for a “car wash”, remember that people who do this as a living do it professionally and make sure they detail your car right with the right tools and chemicals so that your car can maintain its color, interior etc cause those who just want the job done fast and cheap like $15 dolor car wash most likely your car will start to look bad inside and out faster the guy will probably just bring a sponge/towel and bucket 😂😂😂😂

Great video with great ideas, just not real world practical. If earning $100k in a legit way, you have to remember taxes, fees, emergencies, cancellations, living costs, etc.
I love the idea of minimizing costs and pumping up the idea of waterless wash, but let's not forget real world issues. Also, we should recognize that not every location can net $50 per wash. I know I undervalue myself significantly, but I might get (I'm a weekend detailer) $50 - $80 per detail that take 3-5 hours. I also live in NM one of the poorest states in the country.

Greg nice vids, and I hope to be trying your products soon. Been watching your old vids for a while now.
Yes I understand you are doing a Waterless wash, I meant is that all you are doing? Meaning You sell a basic exterior wash (no interior, not engine etc, Wheels, wheel wells, dressing) for $50 bucks?
Again I dont know if you are doing anything else other than a "body wash", but if thats what you get for a exterior only body wash than WOW! However if you are adding anything else to that wash, it would be great if you could tell.
      Thx

      @MastersonsCarCare  7 лет назад

Technically, it's really up to the detailer. It is the detailers choice to sell the service with extra add ons. To keep this simple, we are only referring to a waterless exterior wash.

Yes exist that vacuum, fit in a back pack but you said “we need to improve our service”, I don’t think the customer look at you like professional if u shows up for detailing a car with a back pack vacuum and a motorcycle and a bottle of your product, I think your product would’ve come as a extra chemical in your set up.
    Thank you.

But just imagine you get a customer with a filthy dirty, muddy, dusty car, that’s gonna be more than an hour unless you move fast but also gonna take a lot of towels and sprays. Waterless wash works great when a car is simply dusty.

8 cars in a day is a simple exterior wash, vacuum interior and trunk space, int/ ext Windows and tire shine... 1 person. This is NOT "detailing", it is a "platinum" type of carwash. I'm not hating, im just speaking from my 20 years experience in the business.

You're right Charles, but detailing also includes basic washes. I personally only work on 2 full details a day so I can give the best results. A gloss enhancement job runs for $230 an 7 hour job. My fed ex contract is just a basic outside wash for 8 trucks at $200 in just 2 hours. In the end, money is money!

this is just horrible, almost stopped watching after he said "work 250 days a year, 8 hours a day". First off if you want to become a successful business owner/entrepreneur you should be working 24/7, 365. With that aside id like to know where he's finding 48 cars to detail in a week (8 a day, 6 days a week). Finding customers to schedule bi weekly is already hard enough, id like to know how he's getting 48 a week. He also did not once mention product costs, restock or improving. Very poorly put together video.

50 bucks an hour does not make a business survive. Taxes, insurance, materials, even employees.... Those numbers do not work. Additionally, good luck raising prices later. Be much higher now, and you will not only be profitable, but also weed out the ones who want everything for nothing.

You can't use this "waterless wash" on heavily soiled vehicles...NOTHING can beat old fashioned WATER. I have a water tank in my vehicle and I can tell you...its way better than not having a water tank. You can service clients who dont have access to water and the quality is much better using water. Nice marketing of your product tho..but dont give people false information
