I've never liked talking while I eat.
In 1976 not long after I'd arrived overseas I was eating in the Mess Hall and I see this kind of tall Black soldier going around to tables and knocking on them. The sitting would stop eating and they'd do, what I found out later, a dap.
The guy finally made it around to my table and knocked on it. I looked up and asked him did he want something. He asked me if I was going to "dap" with him. I told him I was eating. He looked as if he was shocked or insulted and sat down uninvited. Then he asked me how long had I been in country which I said. I kept eating and at one point he reached for my tray. If he was slower he would have felt my fork in his hand.
Then he he told me before I left I would learn how to dap. I was there 16 months and never did learn. Nobody, Black or White, I worked with ever tried to dap. Once I got me lady in the village I waited until I got to the hooch to eat unless I had duty that night. Charge of Quarters, CQ, was all night but on the weekends, holidays it was 24 hours. Sometimes we could have duty Friday night and then again Sunday night. Those times could be draining.

Definitely my wife and I. I swear there’s no longer any connection other than we share a child, house and income. She’s had “it” before and it’s literally not a priority or desire, need, etc. for her. I want to be her everything but im completely lost on how/what to do. We’ve been together for 19 years. This sucks!!!
