Installing Air Suspension in 5 Easy Steps

- In todays video we install Air Suspension on my Subaru Wrx Sti and I show you guys can install it onto your car in a few easy steps! Installing air suspension can seem intimidating at first so I made this video hoping to simplifying it a little bit. This is exactly a "tutorial" but I hope this helps someone understand how to go about installing air bag suspension or at least makes it seem less intimidating.
We installed an Airlift 3p management with dual compressors along with the Airtekk Struts

i have bagged 10+ vehicles with the airlift 3P system and i have some words of advice for you my friend. 1: when you install a tank drain make sure you put that at the bottom of the tank or that "tank drain" is usless. 2: why the wiper fuse and not a power when key on fuse? like ignition. and 3: WHERE ARE YOUR WATER TRAPS? as soon as any type of condensation gets in that tank you can kiss that manifold goodbye. make sure you ALWAYS use water traps.
That compression fitting you removed and tossed in the trash is 10 times better than that push to connect fitting. Over time the plastic push to connect fitting start to deteriorate and crack which then will lose its seal.
Push connects are available in brass and stainless also..for those in corrosive parts of the country
I would have kept the fittings on the side in case that happened. But would have added some Teflon glue on those fittings to prevent any air leaks, cross threading’s etc

Looks awesome! You could get a custom box around the tank so it looks oem. Similar to custom sub boxes but it's just for hiding the tank and boxes won't hit it.

This video is so raw straight forward and just real from the installation to the finishing it at 2:30am man…. Been there 😂but gotta say it definitely pays off
Tip: tape the wire to a metal hanger and insert the hanger thru the firewall. Take the wire loose from the hanger and then pull the hanger back out. Gets it thru easily no matter what size hands and how small a space. Bend to fit your needs.

@@beakhan thanks buddy!! The only thing is I have 2 12’s in my trunk, and the sound system is worth more then the car. I didn’t want to do a spare tire delete. Honestly I didn’t even think about it. I was just thinking how am I going to get this all in there but if I blew a tire, with the 2 12’s I wouldn’t be able to get the tire out anyways so I’m going to do the delete like you and put the compressors and brain in under and the tank hidden behind the sub box so it’s totally stealth
Also you should've put the tank drain line running to the port under the tank. How are you going to drain it with it running to the port on the side of the tank? And where is your water trap?
Directions say the manifold should be higher than the tank and compressor too, cause it's harder for water to go uphill.
Not worried about my install, I'm more and more convinced that alot of people have issues because of improper installation.

Hey so i just got a honda civic LX for my first car, and i wanna do this someday, but i have a question for anyone. Do i have to change anything to the wheel or the frame around the wheel so when it lowers it doesnt rub or scrape on anything?
I just ordered bags and i cant wait for it. I think k i want to put my compressor in the spare tore area too.

Get a little fabric flap that velcros from the top of the seats over the tank? Prevents stuff banging into it and scratching it up, can probably stich your ig on it and roll it up for shows

Those air struts allow more negative camber by removing the two bolts closest to the engine on the camber plate and there’s two more threaded holes closer to the fender side of the camber plate to thread them into

just wondering with the ground wire couldn't you have ground it by the trunk ? or would that not work? also with tank are they all plug and play or do u need to make sure u have the right tank with ur air suspension

Did you have the air drain line outside? It sounds nice and loud when airing out. Mine was installed with no line on the manifold so it just dispenses the air inside the trunk. I wish it could sound louder. I might drill a hole and stick a line out. I’m afraid of exposing the line on weather conditions like condensation as it will be opened. How did you do it?
Yep the exhaust line!! You placed it out. I wanna do that. But what did you use to place it nicely on the bottom of the car?

Having the air tank positioned with the fittings facing down will make draining condensation out much easier

bro personally i would get a secondary battery in the trunk so you could possibly even run the bags without the car running and so you don't drain your starter batt with the bags

I had air suspension installed not too long ago. My question is, does there need to be so much camber in the back? I have a 2021 Kia k5. And just went through my tires in like 5 months. Can i have it to where it’s pretty much much straight or does it need to have that camber? Thanks!
if possible try to install the airlift app on your car's touchscreen system. it'll look cool and you can even hide the remote somewhere.
that would he so sick but unfortunately airlift doesnt have an android app and the headunit is running on an android os😕. that wouldve been so sick if i couldve pulled it off though hahaa
That's what I did in my mk4, slide the ashtray door open and there it is, I hid all the stuff as much as I could as I still want a functional trunk and vehicle.
so did you torque the bolts back the specific foot pound??? or just screw them back in?
Random question, but have you ever had bags pop while airing up? I just got bags in but when I air up it pops and moves the whole car.
20:56 Looks great, but the drain should be facing down. When compressing air it can create water, this can build up in the tank, and cause rust inside the tank.
Looks like it was welded that way, oh well.

Go get a “fish” wire you can run it through the small holes and parts, tape the wire to the end and pull them through. I got 50’ of it and cut it about 6’ long. They sale them at Home Depot. It’s kinda like a snake for your toilet. Especially if you do this type of work all the time it works wonders!
Everyone says there’s bolts you gotta cut flush so they don’t pop your front bags, make sure front and rear there isn’t anything like that in the way, wanna save you a headache
