    Hey guys, not sure if it’s been mentioned but the silicone that was discussed around the 16min mark is actually designed as a drain tube for the black self draining water trap that comes in all of AL’s new kits. The line isn’t rated for pressure. 1/4in or 3/8in DOT line that comes in the kit needs to be used anywhere pressure is being stored or transferred through. Great vid and I’m glad you guys are explaining this stuff to people new to air!!

    It’s funny that the flimsy drain line blew on me also while driving. Happened a few times then I realized it was ACTUALLY made to go onto the bottom of the water trap & replace it with the 1/4 line as you said no problems since... You live & you learn ..

    Great video and very informative. He is correct if you planning to bag your car it's advised to take a few days of planning to make sure you have all the components and the fittings for the air system. I came across this video after I installed my air system and yes it took me a few days to make sure I had all things accounted for the build install especially if you are installing the air system yourself. Keep on bagging guys!

    My personal experience with air suspension(gt500):
    -Spend 10k figuring everything out and getting you fitment just right
    -Tell everyone who as much as looks at your car how you could have done it with 4k
    -Get use to never using your trunk
    -Get use to having a wet trunk because no matter how many times you "fix" the compressor there is still condensation
    -Get comfortable with humming from the back of your car

      google it lol, you have 2-4 switches and set the pressure in the bags yourself, as well as let out air as you please. Its a little slower in airing up and down, but you're saving all the money you'd spend on V2/3P.
      You can also run a pressure gauge with different coloured needles, each indicating either front/ back or single bags.

    • @zososldier

      It kind of depends if you have your stuff mounted inside the vehicle like this thing or outside the vehicle like mini truckers do. My old truck that had both the valves and the electric air compressor mounted outside under the bed would have the valves stick. That will basically happen no matter what unless you run air brake antifreeze or an inline oiler due to all the moister in the air getting sucked in the compressors then going into the lines during normal operation.
      When I switched over to an engine driven compressor (Converted York AC compressor) i installed an inline oiler and a water separator and had zero stick after that.
      If you have your stuff mounted inside the car and use a water separator, it will have less sticking. I would still run air brake antifreeze either way in negative 20C.

    I was going to get coilovers but I really would like this. But I'd have to find somewhere in the Atlanta area to install this system. Wouldn't try this myself.

    • @lightofscorpio
      @lightofscorpio 6 лет назад +1

      i literally went from installing drop springs (once) to installing coilovers (once) to installing my current air bag system (accuair management + d2 bags over coils). i would say the hardest part of the installation was the height sensors.. i didnt make any custom hard lines (aluminum, copper, etc), only stock lines. took me about a week of work or less. so looking at air bagged cars, it just looks like an insane job, but its not that hard if you can follow instructions that most systems provide. I just dont like people tearing apart my car because ive seen people working on cars and they dont always do it cleanly, but im sure theres shops that do it clean, i just trust myself more and im sure theres others that might feel the same. TLDR: its not as hard as it looks

    • @jackcollin1695
      @jackcollin1695 6 лет назад

      AtlantaGeorgia404 just buy coilovers.less maintenance and last longer without maintenance. Airlifs/bags will need often maintenance on all hoses,wires and tank (depends on your location/climate) it mostly for looks than reliability and longevity use.if you have 2 cars (1 for daily and 1 for show) do it for your showcar but not for daily (only one car) if so,be prepare your wallet for sooner issues and maintenance of your suspension.

    I have a 2010 Audi TTS. I live on the Atlantic coast of Canada. I run my car in the winter as the quattro is amazing in the snow. The only issue I have is that my car is so low from the factory (with magnetic ride), that I'm plowing snow a lot during severe snowfalls. Do you have a kit that will me allow to raise the car 3 to 6 inches (a bit higher would be even better if possible). I would only need it that high at relatively low speeds (30 mph) during the worst snow fall conditions, so even it the camber is off at maximum height it wouldn't be dangerous. I have no interest in lowering--just raising. Also, it can get very cold in the winter. Would the cold be a deterrent to running airbags as well as all the salt and sand they use on the roads to make them driveable? I also don't have a lot of room in the trunk of my car and would prefer everything hidden under the floor of the hatchback. The TTS comes with a cutout for an emergency donut wheel & tire but without the wheel & tire.

      Air Lift does offer a 3H kit which compliments its main feature which is the function to have sensors, as well as a handheld device that operates solely on the height of the ride! This is going to sound dumb but could you run the Accuair air tank with airlift? You know the new one they released that put the compressors inside the tank to make it quieter. I feel like you can because of its different brands and management systems but i was just wondering

    • @FitmentIndustries
      @FitmentIndustries  6 лет назад

    • @zososldier
      @zososldier 6 лет назад

      The pumps, valves and bags don't are what is hold the air. You definitely can run an accuair tank, airlift bags and even manual valves if you wanted to. all the stuff is fairly universal.

  • @ChicoMillion
    @ChicoMillion 4 года назад +1

    Why does the exhaust port not feed back into the tank using a one-way valve? It seems like the compressor would rarely have to turn on if you were capturing the air as it leaves the bags, no?

    • @FitmentIndustries
      @FitmentIndustries  4 года назад

      You may be on to something👨🏻‍🔬

    • @ChicoMillion
      @ChicoMillion 4 года назад

      Fitment Industries, I thought about this concept of a closed loop air system and I don’t think the air going from the tank into the bags would be able to make it from the bags back into the tank (like a hydraulic system) because of the difference in pressure. The compressor(s) force air into the tank and unless the exhaust side also had a compressor to force the air from the bags back into the tank I don’t think it could happen because the air in the tank is stored at a much higher pressure and wouldn’t allow uncompressed air back into the tank. Give me a sanity check on this, please.

    Also how much battery power is needed for pumps seems like something that could take a bit of draw with competition subs and amps, I’m planning on installing a red top battery for the constant drainage but what other mods electrical would be a good foundation to add a air kit in the future. preparation is required as I literally can’t have my car in pieces for a month haha I want to use it as I upgrade and my understanding is most kits are bolt on given you aren’t laying frame which my car is only 3” off the ground with the exhaust so I doubt I could go anywhere near frame level without extensive reworking which isn’t my goal for the time being. I’m pretty broke, but I’m just looking to make it reliable,safe,parking lot convenient. Air ride would help with speed bumps and driveways I can’t hardly get into my girls moms apartment area it takes strategic maneuvering and people who don’t have a low car will never understand that I’m just trying to keep my exhaust intact

      Leonardo Rocha its a c3 80” corvette I’m contemplating a frame or chassis swap for rear coilover setup to make going bags easier, money is everyone’s usual issue haha I made an account on the page just haven’t uploaded pictures to their site yet, I do plan on it in the near future when I get to get some pictures was only able to take a small video last time it was out, now have a steering leak, that needs addressing along with some new rubber bushings ect. Car needs a lot that’s why swapping the chassis with an engine may be easiest than parting everything over a year or so

      Fitment Industries thanks. I’m going to use the Air Lift 3P system. I’m going to retain the factory shocks/struts. It has active suspension dampening. Hopefully the seals hold up on them. Air Lift has a cool rear bag/bracket kit that I might get and Universal bags and brackets for the front

    Great video buddy. Could you give me a recommendation? I have a 2015 Honda cr-v 2wd and I have aftermarket wheels and tires which are bigger than factory. I like my factory ride height but when I sit people in the back seat and since my tires poke out a little bit they rub with all that weight back there. I would like a bag system if they make one for my application were I could just fill them at a gas station or my compressor at home. I don't need a onboard air system and I would like my factory ride height to stay when the bags are deflated. Is this possible? I used to have air shocks in my 1970 chevelle but this Honda has struts in the back so I don't know if they my struts and if they do will they do what I'm asking you? Forgive me for such a long comment buddy. Thumbs up👍 on your video friend, bye.

    Tyvm for this great video.
    I just have a couple questions.
    First, do the compressors start every single time i air up and down? Or only after a specific point?
    Also, let say i park and fully air out. Then when i leave, air it back up, how long do the compressors run for ? And lastly, would you suggest a second battery setup or no need? Coz i have my sub woofer line hooked to my battery already and really dont know how to manage power from this point. Dont want to kill the battery. Eventho i heard theres a killswitch which i dont think you talked about.
    Again, tyvm. Getting my 3p next summer for my 07 Z.
    Regards

    Hey guys, can anyone tell me how the ride feels with the air product. No one usually say it's good or not. It's always expected to be great since it's air. So does anyone have any experience with this company's product. Thinking about getting it and wanted to know how it will feel.

      @@FitmentIndustries lol, thanks I needed that info. I have BC coil over and I live in NY. The streets here are probably the worst in the world with pot holes ever stop light. I hate driving here only like driving when drive out of town. But I'm really thinking of getting air. The price is high though. I have a question, can I use bags to put on my coil over and use the rest of the airlift system? Do you know if that's possible?
