He's right. It's not just for slamming your vehicle. It is just as comfortable ( if not more) than stock. I can't believe more people don't go with airlift suspension. The diversity and convenience are amazing. I've daily driven my car for 2 winters and one summer with no air leaks and no issues. The only difference I've noticed is my ride height PSI (75) is higher in cold weather (86) However one thing I should mention. With adjustable suspension, you will want to get a lifetime alignment package if available locally. I get mine done approximately every 4 months for free.
@Platinum Clothing A Ford Svt lightning truck ? Perhaps I should've mentioned that im merely providing a testimonial of my own personal experience with Airlift performance series. Do you have Airlift ? Does airlift even make a direct bolt on kit for your vehicle ? More specifically, are you driving on an airlift kit purposefully manufactured for your year, make, and model ? Or did you have to fabricate your truck for their universal kit ? Who installed it ? Are you on sleeved bags or double bellow ? Does your management allow you to change settings and store presets? Can you dial in your damping and adjust the camber ? Do you have height sensors? Perhaps it's these variables that allow me to experience a more comfortable ride in my sports car than you in your truck. Aside from factoring in the discrepancies of our vehicle size, weight, and age.
Air bag kits are great in every way and yes if they are done right, they can last a life time, however compressing air cause moisture, moisture in the lines and valve can freeze in the winter. That's where problem can come from. So if you live in winter environments, one needs some kinda drier or have pure alcohol in the lines, like what big rigs need to have in there air lines
I don't know. I'm in Oklahoma and we get harsh winters here. My airlift suspension was just fine in 9-degree weather. I didn't put anything in my lines. However, I do keep my tank empty of any moisture. I installed an electric drain kit. So I wouldn't have to keep climbing over my back seats to purge water from my tank. The drain kit comes with an electronic release valve and hose that feeds through my trunk grommet that leads outside the vehicle. I simply press a button I installed under my dashboard to purge the water. I also installed a water trap/filter as an extra precaution. However, there's never any water in there when I go to drain it. I went this route because airlift support advised against putting any brake antifreeze or chemicals in the lines if my airlift manifold or water trap is inside the vehicle as the fumes can be dangerous. Also, a few guys in an airlift forum said injecting fluid in your lines can cause issues with the manifold like gunk build-up. The only difference I've noticed in cold weather is that my compressors take a little longer to fill my tank and my psi levels for my ride height are higher than in the summer.
Something else I should mention. My hoses are all ran inside of my vehicle. Under my carpet and above dynamat. That could play a significant role as to why I don't experience frozen lines aside from conveniently keeping my system dry.
My b7 avant has airlift v2 and I love it. It hasnt given me any problems and its so nice to be able to raise the vehicle up to get over rough terrain or speed bumps. The ride quaility is unbeatable too, I would highly reccomend it. It's worth the money trust me, you'll never want to go back to coilovers ever again.
I have Airlift in Canada. I have a water filter, I try to purge my tank once a week, and yet my manifold always gets a cracked seal once per winter season. The bellows are fine, my lines haven't froze, just issues with my manifold. Luckily, Airlift offers lifetime warranty on the manifold.

I have watched a ton of videos about air ride before doing it and I was concerned about weather, ride quality, maintenance and tried to be as careful as possible with it when I got it. I gotta say my drive and handling quality went completely trash with it: it’s stiff and bouncy, I feel every single bump on the road and god forbid if it’s a little stronger of a bump… I inevitably had to start dodging every single road imperfection with it. It’s been a month and it’s winter in Italy, still didnt have any problems with leaks, line cracking, freezing or anything going bad, the only real issue is how bad of driving quality it is. I have to make things clear though, I’m driving a french car which literally doesnt have a single air strut manufacturer making specific struts for it, so struts were taken from a Golf IV, and it’s an european brand (TATechnix); I wonder how would the ride quality change with airlift struts. With that being said I will be lifting my car for maintenance next week and swapping out the bags for some bigger ones for more lift, hopefully that can help a little.
Did you find shocks with adjustable dampening? That's a massive factor. Additionally, have you tried various pressures in the bags to see how it affects ride? It does take some dialing in.
check and make sure the moisture is bled from your compressor regularly as well as get a sleeve for the bag to prevent dirt, rocks and salt from damaging the bag and rusting the strut. you may also want larger lines for the climate but then again it comes down to the instalation, get it done professionally, and correctly dial in your fitment
It might be a huge issue for you , I am in nyc and in the winter here sometimes my compressors freeze for 30min straight temps averaging only 10-20 degrees F .
It’s funny how many people say that bags are only for the summer. My Audi Allroad has air suspension for off-road advantages. It’s the most instant lift kit you can get! Hit one button and gain/lose 4 inches of ground clearance.
Air is my next upgrade. I don't care if it's pricey, I'm sick of scraping. I don't understand how you can dress up a car and then just let it scrape all over the road.
Only problem i have with air ride in the winter is how much will it freeze? I work as a truck mechanic here in Canada and we're always dealing with airsuspension freezing but it shouldn't be a problem if you drain your tanks
If you want bags on a budget, there’s always coils to bag conversion and manual magagment. I first started on manual management and later on went airlift 3p
@@ferrisbuellers Fully adjustable racing coilovers can range from $1,000 -$3,000 so I don't think it's that bad. Autozone sold aftermarket replacement air shocks for my 2004 Lexus LS430 goes past $1,000 for each shock absorber. There is a much cheaper non-air replacement that is $150 each though. So IMO, since it's cheaper than the aftermarket air suspension stuff sold in Autozone, it's a pretty good price. Although I would never buy it because the roads where I live are so bad I don't expect shocks to last more than 5 years and I'm trying to save money by not daily driving my tuned cars (Mazdaspeed 6 and Honda CRX SI).

Hell yes I want air suspension ASAP!! Thanks for this video fellas!! Day 27 asking... *So you want a Dodge Grand Caravan* Thanks and have a great day!!
I have a question, will air suspension ever get cheaper? I think that is the main problem for most of the people who want it rn, not the fact that people are scared of the quality of it
I saw another vid from Fitment (I think it’s “So you want to bag your car?” or something) and Alex said (theoretically) they may start to become cheaper over the next few years. They’re mostly super expensive right now because of the relatively small number of quality competitors. There are some companies that are more affordable but fingers crossed it gets cheaper sooner than later lol. I also know some shops that will let you finance in the NYC area so you can still get your stuff and just pay it off like anything else.
Tbh I don’t think it’s all that pricey compared to like 3 ways adjustable coil overs like kw v3s and such it’s actually cheaper. Then to top it off it has a lifetime warranty from airlift so I think the price is fair where it is.
@@michealarmstrong667 ah ok, yeah I guess then it makes sense. Its meant to be a competitor for high end coilovers, instead of a replacement for all coilovers.
So can you explain to me. How can a brand new bag get a at seal leak between the rubber boot and that silver ring at the top of the shock after only been driven on for only 30 miles.
I had a bagged mini b2200I back when i was in highschool. Had a bag blow out on I95 doing 80mph. The front of my truck's frame slammed down on the road and dragged until i came to stop safely. Looked around and found a small block of wood on side of the rd. Jacked the truck up and placed the 4x4 block wood inbetween my frame and the suspension and drove that bitch home slowly. Couple days later a new bag came in and i was right back there throwing sparks on purpose lol.
Great question! The tank will have a spot to drain water out of the tank itself. If you are experiencing changes in temperature or live in a high humidity climate, or simply a really cold one, you should drain your tank more than recommended to prevent this from happening.
Air is great. Love it but there's a lot of maintenance involved. Amazing if you live in an area with good roads. But living in NYC daily driving it takes a beating on the pillow ball bearings so they have to be replaced every so often. Had springs (with dcc). Then Airlift P3 and now going coilovers soon because i'm tired of the clunking noise from the strut and the concern of a bag failing when I'm thrashing backroads far from home.
Here is my question. Say I wanted to put air on an evo 9 with a decent sized front lip. I'm worried about the lip catching on snow. So could I have it decently lowered but all the way aired out (not slammed), but lift up to get over snow?
So when you set it up you have a parking height(low) and a driving height(higher)…can you drive it like in the middle of those heights? I wanna get air suspension when I get a ls400 so I wanna know some
I want to get air ride on my TLX but worried about the ride not being as smooth as stock on the highway. To all you bag user how does your car ride on the highway?
i just have 2 concerns: winter up here is way worse than wisconsin's. I get -37 Celsius sometimes, is it gonna freeze? second, is it legal, i dont want to spend 4k on a suspension to pay 2k of tickets per year?
Can we get a video about making car rides more comfortable? Everyone either wants low or go to coils for stiff rides, or they stay OEM, what do you do to make it comfy? Not everyone can afford a Rolls 😂
My buddy has a mustang GT on Air Lift, he can’t race from a dig because the two times he’s tried he’s blown out the rear bags. Any idea why that happens?
Something in the suspension puncturing the bag, put the car on jackstands and cycle suspension with a jack. or didnt use isolator valves. That may not be the correct term, but there is a valve that keeps the bags separate. I have seen bags hold up on 15000lb trucks without issue, so make sure you got a quality bag that the company will stand behind if there are manufacturing defects.

check and make sure the moisture is bled from your compressor regularly as well as get a sleeve for the bag to prevent dirt, rocks and salt from damaging the bag and rusting the strut. you may also want larger lines for the climate but then again it comes down to the instalation, get it done professionally, and correctly dial in your fitment
It might be a huge issue for you , I am in nyc and in the winter here sometimes my compressors freeze for 30min straight temps averaging only 10-20 degrees F .
I'm definetly going for air lift on my golf 4 wagon this summer, already cracked the oil pan this friday being static :(
Rip
Lift it up few centimetres 🤔
@@0hjaa3.06 Yea I will untill I can buy my air setup, roads in Belgium are horrible
“So you want a z31 300zx?”♯83
It’s funny how many people say that bags are only for the summer. My Audi Allroad has air suspension for off-road advantages. It’s the most instant lift kit you can get! Hit one button and gain/lose 4 inches of ground clearance.
Air is my next upgrade. I don't care if it's pricey, I'm sick of scraping. I don't understand how you can dress up a car and then just let it scrape all over the road.
Ive driven Tractor Trailer for many many years With Airbags and it drives amazing .. winter and summer
Only problem i have with air ride in the winter is how much will it freeze? I work as a truck mechanic here in Canada and we're always dealing with airsuspension freezing but it shouldn't be a problem if you drain your tanks
Fantastic observation JF! That’s exactly it. If you live in a cold area like ours, draining the tank and doing that maintenance is the KEY.
If you want bags on a budget, there’s always coils to bag conversion and manual magagment. I first started on manual management and later on went airlift 3p
I have airlift on my subie and the ride is soooo rough. Anyone have any thoughts and how i can soften it up? I feel like i might need bigger tires
You can adjust damping and the height at 0 psi so you have less pressure in the bags at ride height and it should be more smooth!
How much did the whole setup cost?
@@ferrisbuellers air suspension is just a trend wait 2 or 3 years until people acknowledge that they suck
Welp, you proved me wrong. But is it as good on a track as a regular coilover?
Coilover for the track
Air ride for the street
Mr. Long above me is rather wrong, airlift was founded for racing purposes, air suspension in general was invented for that reason
Bags= Shows
Coil Overs= Daily/Track Driven
I Have Air On My F80 But The Handling Isn’t Great Part Of It Could Be The Power I’m Pushing But Personally You Lose The OEM Feeling When You Go Air… Although You Look Cool Parked 💯
Can’t wait to bag my Evo X when I get one.
I feel so sorry for the guy who reads all these comments. Got some real rocket scientists in here
finally been waiting on this
Amazing video. This video was needed. It definitely answered some of my question. I will now be doing it, well have it done professionally. Here in Orlando, Fl I have to worry about moisture in the line. I gotta bleed it time to time.
A lot of newer more “luxury” cars come stock with bags too. Hell even the old Lincoln equivalent of the crown Vic had bags in the rear
LOL! At 2:02, sounds like your cel just beeped on
i just noticed...homie looks like Abraham from the "Walking Dead" 😳 somebody come look at this!...

You should do a vid on insurance, boring I know but I halved my insurance price by using a specialist modified insurer, they understand that if you have a modified car you probably care about it, better still is that the mods are insured! Worthwhile topic
Awesome vid! 🔥🔥
"So you want a Acura legend"
Hell yes I want air suspension ASAP!! Thanks for this video fellas!!
Day 27 asking... *So you want a Dodge Grand Caravan*
Thanks and have a great day!!
What kind of rims are those?
Thanks for the knowledge.👍👍
If only I can have some air suspension
New cyber truck has air suspension. Pretty sure people would be upset if that thing failed off road
Bags are dope, I’d love to get some for my g35 sedan
You’ll love it when you do. I have bags on my IPL.
Twin turbo?
But can you put air ride on a fox body mustang hatchback
Then what do you do when the two truck comes and says you are its not getting on? What is the path forward?
Where can we purchase the Fi stickers to add horsepower?
So can you explain to me. How can a brand new bag get a at seal leak between the rubber boot and that silver ring at the top of the shock after only been driven on for only 30 miles.
Can you make a video about the Lexus sc430
As long as the air suspension isn't active the lines won't freeze over especially during fall and winter, same principle with a big rig truck.
So what you’re saying is keep it at ride height during the winter?
@@kiddamage96 no never leave the air suspension active thats just one way of fucking up your lines quicker
Iam laying my 48 fleetline on 4 link with c notch but thats for show.but i live in indiana i wonder how bad the weather would affect the bags
Even my moms 2014 Lincoln Navigator has air ride it rides good
I had a bagged mini b2200I back when i was in highschool.
Water freezes how do i keep the lines from freezing. 🤔🤔🤔
Anti freeze ?
Great question! The tank will have a spot to drain water out of the tank itself. If you are experiencing changes in temperature or live in a high humidity climate, or simply a really cold one, you should drain your tank more than recommended to prevent this from happening.
WHat wheels are these and what's the wheel / tyre fitment specs? Looks great!
What wheels are these?
People that say "air ride isn't reliable" obvi haven't dealt with a seized coilover before
Air is great.
Ok but what if some civic pulls up next to you will you be able to take them to gapable bees
Here is my question. Say I wanted to put air on an evo 9 with a decent sized front lip. I'm worried about the lip catching on snow. So could I have it decently lowered but all the way aired out (not slammed), but lift up to get over snow?
Great music choice
I really don’t understand why people have static cars. What about large puddles of water when it rains...
U go around it. u should never be driving through puddles don’t matter how small it is
It is a banger lets go 💯
I am probably the only dumass who actually cracked open an oilpan being on airlift lmao
this video made me wanna order them after holding myself back on it
Do it 👀 its worth the purchase! -Edgar
So when you set it up you have a parking height(low) and a driving height(higher)…can you drive it like in the middle of those heights? I wanna get air suspension when I get a ls400 so I wanna know some
You have to gauge it out and see how it rides for ya, depending on your wheel set too. All varies on the car! -Edgar
Hope people realize that there are tons of military trucks like the MATV that also ride on air.
You gotta have air suspension! How else is it gonna handle the weight of a cummins swap?
Aight I had no idea fitment industries was from my home state.imma need yalls help finding a good lookin wheel n tire combo for my 78 caddy sometime

fuck I´m gonna have wet dream about that sick gtr tonight
2:02 the dreaded sound we all hate to hear :(
Can we get a video about making car rides more comfortable?
Lowering coil crowd!
