H&R Coilovers!!! I will NEVER stray! I’ve installed them in almost every car that I’ve owned… I’ve never been a fan of air suspension and I never will. Reliable, adjustable, and AFFORDABLE! The day I see IMSA , BTCC, or DTM cars using air suspension, then MAYBE I’ll consider it.
Static, because I want to leave plenty of room for a sub install while keeping a practical cargo space. If we had more wagons to choose from, I'd go air.
Saving for “air” getting in and out of my driveway with a lip kit will suck on coilovers and my Jeep high altitude has air so I know winter is not a problem
There are tiers to this debate as there are layers to the application of either. Common “Street” series suspension are typically lower quality than “track” series coil overs. Meaning, if you take “street” series coil overs to the “track”, you will more than likely under perform. “Track” series suspension is peak equipment for “track” use. On the other hand, daliy’ing “track” series suspension on the “street” is like “over paying to kill a mosquito with a bazooka” while the full performance potential will in most cases remain untapped in imperfect “daily street” conditions. Airlift suspension has been proven to perform on “track” just as well as, if not better than, “street” series suspension in addition to being more ideal for daily “street” use than “street” series suspension in most applications. Put simply, “Track” suspension is BEST for track conditions and well dialed Airlift suspension is ideal for daily “street” conditions. IMO
I drive for daily use not performance. I'd just want the lowered look and comfort. That in mind that last one you mentioned looks ideal. Any more info on them or maybe a list of other brands that make something similar? Haven't lowered my car yet but when it comes time to change the shocks I definitely want to upgrade to a good coilover or just a lower suspension setup
@@djhero0071 true, but the stock suspension on my car has a lot of body roll, they are too soft. Also lowering springs may not always be a great option, because it can mess with the alignment of the wheels and cause unexpected tire wear. Which I'd like to avoid as much as resonably possible

Great video. In the offroad world, I see lot of critics on the new air suspension of the Defender, what’s your take on this? One think I think I understood is that when you’re in offroad height, the suspension is stiffer, which doesn’t seem a good idea.
For me I have a air suspension on the rear and coilovers in the front the front is soft and hard just when it's needed the air suspension on the rear is just hard at all air pressures it's just super uncomfortable if you just want to cruze not drive hard but when you drive hard it's hard all of the time so it's good in my experience to make airbags softer you have to run a small tank to add volume to the bag with only half inch or bigger lines anything less than half inch will be hard and not many system are compatible with 1/2 inch lines or you can just run bc racing coilovers DR series with swift springs and air cup's that's what I am starting to run but I am also running tein coilovers EDFC pro system with custom software and it's Tide in with the air cup to add superer suspension control
I’ve got some racelands on my mk5 they work well for my purposes, handles and looks better. My buddy has bags on his mk4 the car want lift up rn lol#Maine winter
The air shock absorber will help you automatically recognize that when you encounter a bumpy road, it will automatically raise the height of the car so that the car can drive better.
COILS.... Bags are for show. Coils are for go..!! Lighter weight, better adjustability. Bags do have a cool factor, but dont belong on anything with performance intentions if you ask me.
Just curious if anyone has run or is currently running Gecko Racing Coilovers. Looking at them for my 95 Mustang Gt but haven't seen very many reviews or many running them on their ride. If you want to ride with negative chamber and destroy your expensive tires, then air shocks are the least of your worry's. Shocks are meant to keep the tire tread touching the ground. You have less than 1/8th sq ft touching rubber to the road, otherwise you might as well put bicycle tires on all four corners. Just make sure the spokes & bearings are heavy enough. I see this next to me on the road, I am getting far away. See you in a ditch on the local news. DK, ASE master tech since 78.

One thing is certain… when your car is lower, your spring needs to be stiffer and when it’s higher, it needs to be softer. Air suspension gives you, exactly the opposite of that.

Thanks for making it so simple. 16 BRZ thinking air because it sits so dang low. Nice to pull into the gas station and not lose parts.
Air bc in the small town of silvertukey (silverton) lowered cars have maybe 2 roads they can drive on and air allows me to get around more easily
Thank you bro. I want to get the job done right the first time. A decent price and good brand.
Static, because I want to leave plenty of room for a sub install while keeping a practical cargo space. If we had more wagons to choose from, I'd go air.
I’m actually with you, rn I want a sub and bag a 2003 Ford Taurus. A spare tire delete will definitely help.
@@2000minecraftmanUntil you need the spare
You could always go for lowering springs. It’s something FI has talked about a lot too though they focus more on coil overs and air overall.
@@djhero0071 true, but the stock suspension on my car has a lot of body roll, they are too soft. Also lowering springs may not always be a great option, because it can mess with the alignment of the wheels and cause unexpected tire wear. Which I'd like to avoid as much as resonably possible
Definitely gonna buy a airbag set up.I just need to get more information. As I want the best I could find for my mercedes c l five hundred
wow thats pretty cool.Btw,we are a manufacturer specializing in providing auto parts for luxury car brands, including mercedes,,our main products are air shock absorbers and sth like that, fully new made in China
Never ran air. Well atleast not on cars. Obviously my rig is on air. But now that ive recently got a vip car. Time to move into the air ride.. currently the vehicle ( 08 jag xj vandan plas )has its original air suspension but not with levels of dropping it yourself on a press of a button. Therefor somewhere down the line i will definitely be installing some air rides you was talking about.
Slapped some pink Godspeeds on my 2000 VW Bug. They’re pretty good.
05:31... "Thant's what you do with air" -Classic!
As much as I’d love to run air I’m gunna be running a set of bc racing on my Z cheaper and easier for me to install.
BC's are a great choice regardless! Probably smoother for that chassis. -Edgar
I was unaware of the hybrid option! Sweet vid with great insight and info
I had a airlift kit on my 11 mustang gt and had it on a month and went back to coil overs , bags are nice but in my opinion there just not worth the money
How was the ride on air... was it comfortable?
But why bro whats cause you to Switch back to coils?
@@seanlovi8798 Coilovers> Bags I’ve Had Both Bags Are For Looks That’s It You Want Reliability Performance And Comfort Go Coils 🔥 I’m Only Rocking Bags On My F80 For Shows And Because I Don’t Daily Drive It Otherwise I’ll Be On Coils
I think I'm going to go with the airlift suspension because I'm going to be using a truck and most of my weight in the bag is going to come from the fuel cell and whenever it loses fuel because I'm driving on the street and what not I can have the adjustability right there
I was on the wall of which to go to but chose air after a hitting a broken concrete chunk on the road, had I been static it could have cost me my whole bumper and lip
Iv never had anything on air but my friends that have air always have problems with it xD. Iv never had any issues with hks, bc racing or fortune auto coils ;)
Always Air if you can afford it...but that's the only reason. Air is dope AF cause you can lower it after you park but MAN it's expensive for what basically amounts to adjustable aesthetics.
My pockets cry everytime i air out my S8, but it was well worth it. -Edgar
@@FitmentIndustries That's the beauty of it, it's the sound of you're wallet made when you bought 'em.
pssssss....empty. lol
Great video. In the offroad world, I see lot of critics on the new air suspension of the Defender, what’s your take on this?
One think I think I understood is that when you’re in offroad height, the suspension is stiffer, which doesn’t seem a good idea.
It is stiffer but barely.
Going to run bags on my 21sti, got a 3p kit for 2200 never used 👍🏻
For me I have a air suspension on the rear and coilovers in the front the front is soft and hard just when it's needed the air suspension on the rear is just hard at all air pressures it's just super uncomfortable if you just want to cruze not drive hard but when you drive hard it's hard all of the time so it's good in my experience to make airbags softer you have to run a small tank to add volume to the bag with only half inch or bigger lines anything less than half inch will be hard and not many system are compatible with 1/2 inch lines or you can just run bc racing coilovers DR series with swift springs and air cup's that's what I am starting to run but I am also running tein coilovers EDFC pro system with custom software and it's Tide in with the air cup to add superer suspension control
I’ve got some racelands on my mk5 they work well for my purposes, handles and looks better. My buddy has bags on his mk4 the car want lift up rn lol#Maine winter
Going air for a future show car the 92 Subaru svx LS
how do I judge a bump or a driveway with a sudden steep angle to know if I can make it or destroy my bumper?
The air shock absorber will help you automatically recognize that when you encounter a bumpy road, it will automatically raise the height of the car so that the car can drive better.
I want something for a fun street car. Comfortable enough but still good for handling corners and highways.
Definitely a set of coilovers
im already on coilovers but want bags so im getting bags that replace your coilover springs from c2b suspension
Coils! would be interested in aircups after seeing some reviews on them
I already run BC BR coilovers on my 3uz swapped miata drift car, but I hope to find an air ride system for my Cadillac ATS.
Why haven’t u guys did a video on VIP modular wheels ??
COILS.... Bags are for show. Coils are for go..!! Lighter weight, better adjustability. Bags do have a cool factor, but dont belong on anything with performance intentions if you ask me.
Nice video bro , well explained, cost 💲, fictions and all the things someone needs to know ! Thank you
im running airtekk on my 06 3v and havnt had a problem in almost a year
🤝🤝🤝 what else is all done to it? -Edgar
Air cups are exactly what I need I just need something to get into my drive way and go over speed bumps
Just curious if anyone has run or is currently running Gecko Racing Coilovers. Looking at them for my 95 Mustang Gt but haven't seen very many reviews or many running them on their ride. They are right around the $900 price point so they don't seem to be built cheap. Just wish I knew more about them before I pull the trigger on purchasing.
Sorry… Newbie question… I’d like a lowered Daily/Band hauler… I want to murder out a Ecoboost Ford Flex with air-ride suspension so I can lower it, my question is with the heavy weight will the raising and lowering suspension break under the added heavy weight with large band equipment??? And would I be able to drive it lowered with band equipment in the back???
You should be just fine! You’ll be able to adjust the pressure in the rear if you have something heavier back there!
I just got my first car a (Hyundai Genesis Coupe) but I’m not sure if I should get suspension, or wheels/tires first
Personally what I went first with my E46 is suspension, because after that it was easier to dial in the fitment (ayee) of what size wheel I would want. What year is your Geni coupe?! -Edgar
@@FitmentIndustries its 2010 18"
Iam looking to get wheels and tires how do I know what size and offset I need

If you want to ride with negative chamber and destroy your expensive tires, then air shocks are the least of your worry's. Shocks are meant to keep the tire tread touching the ground. You have less than 1/8th sq ft touching rubber to the road, otherwise you might as well put bicycle tires on all four corners. Just make sure the spokes & bearings are heavy enough. I see this next to me on the road, I am getting far away. See you in a ditch on the local news.

I’m on Bc br’s rn and I love them but I’m abt to go towards those fortune auto bag/coilovers👀
Airbags. I work construction so I go thru dirt and gravel so it makes sense to have something I can lift and drop with one button. Thanks man. Now I just have to save my lunch money! Hahahaha
Thats a LOT of lunch money! I believe in ya tho! 🤝🤝🤝 -Edgar
Air is better hands down. Just installed the kit in my 500 benz
I live in Canada.... Air suspension doesn't last long here.. Looks the best but maybe if it was a summer only/storage car.
Been wanting to lower my 20camry with either or my first time buying a set they both sound bad ass
Myself, I'll be going air because of the ability to air up crossing rough terrain and still lay frame at a show.
Just brought a Grand Cherokee Summit from a buyherepayhere. They failed to mention that the hoe they brought the car from switched the quadralift for a regular shocks now leaving me with a half of a car functioning as it is supposed to so I’m weighing my options but at the price I was quoted I guess I’ll be doing static
Looking at a grand Cherokee trailhawk. This is usfull and informative thank you
wars have been waged over this choice . . . and the winner is ....... wtf ever u like in your car as its your whip so enjoy it ... peace n love to all my automotive brethren build on stay safe and keep it radical l8
Woah!! What wheel is on that Focus at 5:29??
Probably going to purchase bc’s for the daily soon, and eventually go with C2b bags plus 3p
U know I don't know what I had in my colbalt ss supercharger 10 years ago but it had a hydrolic sound when it went over a bump. What is that?
I still don't know what coils fit my 05 ZX3 focus and I want to know what is a good price range to start from to search.
Hey there! So i did a quick search on our page and this is what I came up with:
www.fitmentindustries.com/store/suspension?sort=instock&year=2005&make=Ford&model=Focus&trim=ZX3&saleToggle=0&qdToggle=0
We have various options for the ZX3 and depending on what you would like to spend! KW's are definitely on the higher end for smooth and adjustability, but Megan Racing are also a great choice. Hope this helps! - Edgar
Bags in the winter are, same with water-meth injection systems. Been in -20 no problems.
I have a 2021 awd q50 redsport and I'm completely lost on what I should get thought I wanted air but I do lots of spirited driving
There are cars that do race tracks on air so don’t let it fool you, unless you are planning to do time attacks air will be just fine for spirited driving but if you are taking turns at 90 mph than coilovers might be the better option
Get both with fortune auto APLS
I have a Frs and was wondering if Godspeed Coils were good/reliable , I saw that they were cheap and came with everything a expensive coil would have , any thoughts on it/info about Godspeed
One thing is certain… when your car is lower, your spring needs to be stiffer and when it’s higher, it needs to be softer.
Air suspension gives you, exactly the opposite of that.
I’m getting a 1993 190e 1.8 for my first project car wanted to know what kind of air suspension set up I should go for, want to ride low but there are a lot of road bumps in the UK.
Air suspension is a good idea so you’re aired up
Iv got two projects a 1998 civic with coilovers that are stiff as hell. And a 1978 Ford courier mini truck that I wanna explore air suspension with.
