Tbh, I think these videos spewing random facts picks up the grey areas where videos about "You want to buy this, here's what you need to know", leave out. I've been deciding on a set of Redshift BC coilovers vs KW for my own ride, and this video honestly helped in deciding what I think is right for me vs what might be somewhat overkill, since the most I do is aggressive spirited driving in the mountains, and on almost ever y freeway entrance and exit. So thank you.
i think it’s important to also recognize that many coilover companies offer multile tiers of coilovers. a great example of this is Tein. their entry level coilovers are cheap and get the job done on the street. but they also make some incredibly good motorsports oriented coilovers like the SRCs that are much more expensive but much better quality
this is some really great info. A deeper dive into which companies dyno their products and properly engineer the internals of their dampers for a given application would be incredibly valuable. Great video.

Great vid bro I need some help cause Man coilover selection is tuff, pulled my old ones out as they are leaking oil everywhere and found out they are old nismo oem style coils that aren’t made anymore.. have no clue on spring rates or anything of the sort and have no clue what to buy now to bring back a similar feeling to these and it’s stressing me out lol (car is 98 r34 gtt coupe rwd) Mainly used for spirited road driving and the occasional track day here and there but mainly street car. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated 🙏🙏
I went from 16 to 20 inch wheels. The fronts fine but the rears scrap the plastic finder during dips. Will coilovers help me keep a 1 inch clearance? Currently I put spring Spacers in and they work until I have a load like bicycle racks or luggage.
So I'm at a predicament. I'm loving my kwv2's. But how does it compare to fortune auto 500/510's? I desire a comfortable street performance while also being able to perform and handle on track.
It's all about the fluids bro, maybe you can check the fluid type and compression to help figure that out. Look up what the stock specs are and get the closest to it or more performance oriented one. Hopefully it's not too difficult to find out that information.
That should be a pretty similar comparison. Fortune Auto does have the ability to customize the set up a bit further if you want swift springs, and different spring rates
Buying FAs will rob you your total suspension travel. You have to know what you're doing with setting up a set of 2 piece coilovers. While on the other hand, KW usually makes their shocks specific to the platform, such that they will retain a lot of the factory suspension travel, which is a key to your street comfort.
Alignment is very important I adjusted my ride height up by 1/2 an inch and my car went from perfect to drunk I adjusted the camber in on my own and mostly fixed it, but now it pulls to the left😂
I had a question. What are swift springs and do i need them? I have a 2001 miata that i want to track. Also what ratio should be running with spring rates?
Just put my bc br series in and didn’t lower it from factory settings and im maxing out on wheel travel every time I hit even a minor bump in the road lol
I wonder what the ratio of people watching all the videos on coilovers are watching them because they want to build a track/drift car, or are wanting to upgrade their daily driver and lower them for comfort and looks only?
I swear if I hear 1 more person say "dampener" instead of "damper" I'm going to loose my mind! Dampener means it makes something less enjoyable, a damper is a device that regulates flow. BC Racing coil overs are dampeners because of their lack of engineered dampers.

A month ago I installed KW V3s on my Suzuki Swift and maaaaaan... Even though in stock form the Swift is one of the funniest hothatch chassis out there, with the KWs it's just another bigger order of magnitude when it comes to fun.
This video is just what I needed. I have a 19 wrx and it’s my daily but I want to take it to the track on occasions during the year. My budget isn’t that high 2k max if necessary. I’d like some recommendations I wanna get some coilovers that ride well on the street since I carry passengers all the time but that can do track duty on occasions
I have a 2018 STI, I ran Fortune 500 with Swift springs until just recently and they will work well. I'm upgrading to 510s due to servicing and current mods on the car.
@@eliezergutierrez2472 Mine were a custom set but it felt like driving a car with active suspension on "sport mode." Turning down the damping helped smooth out the ride a bit, and raising it, felt lot good on track days.
I've got an 06 forester and it's auto witch doesn't bother me cause I wanna make a daily drive OEM+ kind of build and I've been told that the auto transmission gets confused with the changes if I put bigger wheel on it which is something I want to do along with the coilovers... Is that true will i have a problem? And I wanna be able to hit some mountain hills but I don't want to compromise the daily comfort what's the solution to this??
I wanna know why Performance oriented I can't tell the difference between my Mono SS and my BC DS series 😵💫 But! I can definitely tell you which car is more comfortable to drive on the street 🙃 and it's the Mono SSs... (Two identical minis, I can drive them back to back)
Ive been thinking of getting some affordable coilovers for my 2012 Mazda 3 sedan. Theres just so much wheel gap that i wanna shrink. At least an inch or two since i also live in Wisconsin and winter exists. Tysm!
I get quite confused by American/European model naming, but do you have any options for the 1989-1998 Silvia S13 Coupe? I can't seem to see any in the build gallery and the only filter options are either the 240sx or 200sx, Which I believe are the American and European names for the 180sx Hatch/Liftback.
Appreciate Teins is the benchmark for a decent entry to this realm, but whilst price is a good gauge for determining quality - What would you say to popular japan tuning companies. I.e Blitz with their ZZR range which is slightly cheaper than Tein's Flex Z? They seem to be manufactured in Taiwan like most of the lower end brands, but does their oil and shock compression stack up on par with mid range BC or Teins? Thanks in advance!
Ok, so if i want oem+ springs, who does it cause they all advertise lowering springs. Also can we see a video on who is enki and how do they produce all the japanese oem wheels pls
I gotta ask. I have a 2005 Mazda RX-8 Shinka Edition and I've been looking into Tein vs Raceland. I really like the warranty Raceland offers but want a similar coilover upgrade to some of the low tier/entry level modifications that will be reliable and/or at least covered and have good reviews. Do you think the Raceland set is on a similar level as some of those other sets or am I falling victim to marketing?
My rx8 that I bought with racelands installed by the previous owner, personally I feel like it ruined the driving experience. Now I'm not a coilover expert just my off hand experience. I am waiting till I have the funds to upgrade but I am not a fan of racelands on my 8. I share 2 rx8s between my dad and myself so that's where my comparison between the stock and racelands are from. Have not had the pleasure of driving one with proper coilover upgrade but hope to one day replace the racelands.
Ive bought two different coil overs for my car and hear clucking when starting to move or turning, is this because they don't have helper springs? I can't for the life of me find where it's coming from. They're 32 way with chamber plates.
Holy shit, nah man. I've had several coilovers from Silvers (direct) and been perfect - mind you I track all my cars. Never once an issue, if anything they worked better than my FA or car specific legacy brands. At only about 1400 - 1600$ considering swift upgrade and custom rates etc etc, Silvers has done me right. 😂 Also Silvers in Europe is TUV certified in most applications, like miatas from sps in Germany. Also Silvers come from Taiwan, most my boxes still had Taiwanese stamps n shit.

Alignment is very important
I adjusted my ride height up by 1/2 an inch and my car went from perfect to drunk
I adjusted the camber in on my own and mostly fixed it, but now it pulls to the left😂
I had a question. What are swift springs and do i need them? I have a 2001 miata that i want to track. Also what ratio should be running with spring rates?
Miata is the way! on my 2nd now :)
Just put my bc br series in and didn’t lower it from factory settings and im maxing out on wheel travel every time I hit even a minor bump in the road lol
I have to ask and I understand if you cant answer but are Evolved Autosport coilovers actual good?
I wonder what the ratio of people watching all the videos on coilovers are watching them because they want to build a track/drift car, or are wanting to upgrade their daily driver and lower them for comfort and looks only?
Just want to lower my car while maintaining comfort
I swear if I hear 1 more person say "dampener" instead of "damper" I'm going to loose my mind! Dampener means it makes something less enjoyable, a damper is a device that regulates flow. BC Racing coil overs are dampeners because of their lack of engineered dampers.
A month ago I installed KW V3s on my Suzuki Swift and maaaaaan...
Even though in stock form the Swift is one of the funniest hothatch chassis out there, with the KWs it's just another bigger order of magnitude when it comes to fun.
Trying to decide between Feal 441+ and KW v1. Really wish the KWs came with Swift springs.
@@Specter57 ok 👍, I’m deciding between the fortune auto 500 with swift or hyperco springs and the racecomp engineering super street 1 coilovers
@@Specter57 im deciding between fortune auto 500 and racecomp engineering superstreet 1 Coilovers. How did the fortune autos ride?
@@eliezergutierrez2472 Mine were a custom set but it felt like driving a car with active suspension on "sport mode." Turning down the damping helped smooth out the ride a bit, and raising it, felt lot good on track days.

Hi there mate, just wanted to get your opinion on Titans as i dont see much on them. thanks
Hi great video and great explanation.
But you didn't referred to annex at all

Should I get maxpeeding rods for a daily on a budget?
Which coilover you recommend for a 2020 toyota corolla se sedan?
Let's Go! I Love Learning! 😄

is there anything like air suspension that isnt air suspension? because airride is illegal in belgium
I have a 996 911 and I am trying to make a decision between KW v3 and Ohlins R&T, any opinions of which set up is best?
kw v3, single piece (or fixed length) shocks are better
I've got an 06 forester and it's auto witch doesn't bother me cause I wanna make a daily drive OEM+ kind of build and I've been told that the auto transmission gets confused with the changes if I put bigger wheel on it which is something I want to do along with the coilovers... Is that true will i have a problem? And I wanna be able to hit some mountain hills but I don't want to compromise the daily comfort what's the solution to this??
Are these coilover good for a 2016 Toyota xle. Thanks
Curious on your opinion on Bilstein shocks, and coilovers
LEts gOOO... one sec gotta grab my notebook
Are the flex z teins comfortable as a coilovers?
Thoughts on HSD coilovers?
What are the smoothest riding coilovers for Honda s2000?

I can't tell the difference between my Mono SS and my BC DS series 😵💫
But! I can definitely tell you which car is more comfortable to drive on the street 🙃 and it's the Mono SSs...
(Two identical minis, I can drive them back to back)
Can we get a coil over vs air suspension video? Or do you have one already posted?
Ive been thinking of getting some affordable coilovers for my 2012 Mazda 3 sedan. Theres just so much wheel gap that i wanna shrink. At least an inch or two since i also live in Wisconsin and winter exists. Tysm!
I get quite confused by American/European model naming, but do you have any options for the 1989-1998 Silvia S13 Coupe? I can't seem to see any in the build gallery and the only filter options are either the 240sx or 200sx, Which I believe are the American and European names for the 180sx Hatch/Liftback.
Question answered for Tein coils from previous video ty!!
How do I get an alignment when they say I’m too low for an alignment at the shop ?
Hooray for more “useless” info!
Ok, so if i want oem+ springs, who does it cause they all advertise lowering springs.
Also can we see a video on who is enki and how do they produce all the japanese oem wheels pls
Spring rate video? Would be awesome!
Whats the link to that mk3?? That body is dope
What would say is the best exhaust for a 03 Subaru wrx?
What about ECS Performance Adjustable Coilover System?
What's your opinion on D2 coilovers? I noticed that you didn't mention it.
@@samkuehl9609 Wow I appreciate that. Can I ask how old they are? If you know?
Ive bought two different coil overs for my car and hear clucking when starting to move or turning, is this because they don't have helper springs? I can't for the life of me find where it's coming from. They're 32 way with chamber plates.
6:32 do I spy a z31 with a responsetype s13 coilover adaptee kit? 🤔🤔🤔
Thank you vary good information
Loved this
You got discount code I can use ? For the fortuneauto 510
can I put coilovers on my Toyota rumion 2012
Holy shit, nah man. I've had several coilovers from Silvers (direct) and been perfect - mind you I track all my cars. Never once an issue, if anything they worked better than my FA or car specific legacy brands. At only about 1400 - 1600$ considering swift upgrade and custom rates etc etc, Silvers has done me right. 😂
Also Silvers in Europe is TUV certified in most applications, like miatas from sps in Germany. Also Silvers come from Taiwan, most my boxes still had Taiwanese stamps n shit.
What are your thoughts on ISC coils??
Just ordered a KW V1 for my DC2 because im in germany. My car needs TÜV and i live like 40km away from KW 😅.
I'd enjoy seeing 20 minutes of useless information on how to set up your air suspension and all the options you have for hardware and electronics and how they affect the feeling of the ride.
How does suspension heat up?
