Yep, you can drive my 04 Ranger off a cliff and it’ll keep going for another 300k miles. These Frontiers are pretty close to that. Top slot for modern times.
I have this exact same truck and color in a 2023. I absolutely LOVE it!! The perfect truck honestly. Look the looks and styling and the performance is beautiful. Extremely comfortable and reliable!!
Just bought a 2024 Nissan Frontier S and love it! I would suggest getting the tech package with backup camera, smart cruise control, forward collision warning, etc. it is worth the extra cost.
These days of added costs and "mandatory" options, makes buying used (private) more and more attractive each day, however, the preponderance of people who are in the market for a new vehicle, don't have many financing options when buying private, so the dealers and financing companies can capitalize on this and take full advantage of the market. Dealerships are the cancer of the automotive world, always have been, always will be.
To me a no nonsense truck would have a regular cab 2 doors and a 6 foot bed.I will drive my 2005 GMC canyon regular cab until there is nothing left of it.
I got this exact same truck, certified pre owned with 16K miles for 30k flat. Dealer even put black wheel skins on for me. Truck has 27k now in 5 months. Only problem is the one wheel skin is squeaky so Ima just rock the classic steel wheel look
lol bro I think you just helped me figure out why why wheels are so squeaky all of a sudden! Sounds like it my black wheel skins 😆 they didn’t squeak before but I noticed them become ever so slightly loose now. I love the way they look but that squeak kills me. So I’m guessing no squeak after you removed them?
The basic S is a whole lot more loaded than my mid-grade XE Hardbody from 1987! 4 doors, V6, auto, and a dash screen, and Im sure power windows too. Yes its more money, but minimum wage has also quadrupled in that time. So realistically, this truck at $30,000 is probably offering more for the buck than my Hardbody KC 2wd 4 cylinder did in 1987 for just under $ 10k. And that's with American labor costs, unlike Toyota that defected to Mexico but still charges MORE for the junk Tacoma that blows transmissions.
I got curious and checked the minimum wage numbers. In 1987 the minimum wage was about $3.35. Adjusted for inflation in 2024 thats close to $7.35/hour. Which is what the minimum wage is now. Do you mean your personal wages quadrupled since 1987? The Frontier is a great truck for the money.
here in Central Arkansas Pro4X are still being advertised well under 40k. and at least in my case, they will sell at that price with very little negotiation and work the deal if you have a trade to offset dealer add ons. add on was $1299 here. they took an additional $700 off truck and added $500 to trade and drove off 39,925 final price.
I wouldn't pay 40 grand for a base line trim Frontier...I would buy a fully loaded Ridgeline with leather, sunroof etc for 41k which I did last yr. or if I needed a real truck/ truck - for towning.. I would buy a base trim Sliverado, Ram etc and pay 45k. For me, the Ridgeline fits my needs, as I do lots of highway mileage - and get 26 mpg .. very comfortable ..and can fit in tight spaces better than the big boys.. for around 15k less fully equipped.
good point. If you're selling a midsize truck, you've got a very narrow price window in which to make your truck attractive to a potential truck buyer. Especially base trims. Why pay 40k+ for a base mid size truck when I can go full size with some upgrades for probably another 8k, with discounts? Full size trucks aren't moving so there are better deals to be had.

I agree with your take. I would like a 6 ft bed, and I'd also like an extended cab instead of crew. My understanding is that you can only get an extended cab with the SV. I'm ready for factory direct sales, too. These stealerships can dry up and blow away, as far as I'm concerned. Lets eliminate the middle man.
In TX where I live, these Frontiers aren't selling well. Local dealership have SV marked down to 85% off MSRP. Nissan is pushing dealerships to move inventory with incentives too.
You know it’s an upside down world when a basic pickup truck is considered nice, those things were once a loss lead for dealers. Let’s just wait for the competitors adjust to meet demand if you can. I tell my kids that vehicles are not like smart phones that you change out every few years, these are tools that you take care of and hopefully it’ll last a long time.
Dump the pointless "infotainment system" and replace it with a simple push button AM/FM/CD (yeah, I know, but a LOT of us out here in pickup country really, really don't care about the screens and such for what we need out of a pickup). By the way....The truck featured in this video is very similar, equipment wise, to the 2013 Frontier that I owned for exactly a year. Wish I had that truck back as it would make for an excellent beater pickup today, I'm sure.
I just bought a 2024 Frontier S two wheel drive after looking at the Toyota Ford and Chevy four-cylinder turbo crappy engines specially Toyota shame on them. The frontier is the best value!
Glad to say I never fell for the nitrogen in the tires thing. Air is 80% nitrogen already. You know they aren't evacuating all the air in the tires, so what are they increasing the amount by...10% at most? Folks, you should have paid attention in science classes... It isn't rocket surgery.
Can you please stop applying CVT issues in past Nissan cars to their TRUCKS? Nissan has NEVER had bad Frontier transmissions. Funny how thousands of Tacoma frames literally rusted in half, yet fanboys NEVER talk about Toyota "notorious frames " And that's on TRUCKS! If anything, the Tacoma is notorious for its "gear-hunter " transmission, but sacred cow Toyota always gets forgiveness. Why not try doing ACTUAL research instead of spreading false BS? The transmissions in past Frontiers held up fine, and the new model has a licensed clone 9 speed Mercedes Benz trans. Ironically, the new TACOMA, is eating its own transmissions, whether auto OR manual. But if you did some digging, you'd already know that. So pick on the REAL offender instead of gossiping please. Lies travel much faster than truth.
40k for this garage. I'll never buy a truck like this for 40k. Hell it will be 43k out the door. And 57k financed. You all throw money away like your a forien 4 foot tall alien getting free money.
Good truck, not worth much more than 26K, doesn't get good Gas mileage . get A F 150 work truck and get a lot more with that truck VS the overpriced frontier. Nonetheless, they both are over priced. However, I will pay a few more 1000 to get a full size truck that can tow more and have more bed space VS the frontier.
Funny how you arbitrarily calculate the value to be 26k. Where'd you get that? I agree it would be nice, but Nissan operates in the same central bank artificial inflation as the rest. Plus, unlike cheap greedy Toyota with Mexican labor, Nissan pays for high priced AMERICAN labor and still I'd less money for a better product.
It's not simple. The 2000 to 2008 frontier was simple. These new Frontiers have direct injection instead of port injection so you now have more complications and maintenance. I like my 2006 frontier but when I needed a new truck I got the cast iron block naturally aspirated port injection 4 banger Tacoma made in 2022. Now that is simple.
@@jeanclaude7018 True but it doesn't mean that people can't buy used trucks like up to 2023 Tacomas that have the cast iron block 4 banger or Frontiers before the direct injection. People all over Florida seem to buying even older vehicles like used Kei trucks imported used from Japan. Screw buying new vehicles.
@@hothmobile100 Yep. Still running my 87 Hardbody 4 cyl, manual trans, with THROTTLE BODY FI by Hitachi. The iron block dates back to the late 60s! There's an old Toyota down the street with back end singed by a fire. Tempted to see if they'll unload it. If buying new, the Frontier is the only one I'd consider ,but still wish for manual trans. Toyota manual AND automatic are trash now, and Nissan already has the making of a great 6 speed if they would just do it. That leaves just the DI issue, and supposedly catch cans help. I don't know. The powertrain is getting few complaints so far. If we hadn't let the communist govt get so much power, this stuff wouldn't be an issue.
I'd buy that just for the powertrain... long live the naturally aspirated V6!
@@JCT442 same here, it’s a great setup. I like it more than the previous gen Tacoma
Simplicity always wins. I agree that the other brands have gotten way too complicated, which adds cost and reduces reliability.
