Please just a quick question… After shooting in ProRes log, once editing is done In premiere pro. What format should I export my video to still maintain the quality?
Hi Jeven, I am getting issues black footage whenever I am trying to edit an Apple Log footage. Have you heard this type of issue? Do you know some fix?
Had no idea you could copy edits in the base photos app. This alone is new simple knowledge that is crucial to workflow. Thank you 🍃 except I feel a bit ignorant about my camera iphone
Hi great video - so I grade them on the phone...but when I pull into editor, cyberlink or da-vinci - still in LOG...any ideas, does the phone method only grade them on the fly in the phone and not actually save the grading when output? Thanks!
Many thanks for this very in informative video. I would highly Appreciate if you bring some LUTs that brings DJIs mini 3 Pro D-Cinelike and apple ProRes in line.
Why shoot in ProRes when a minute takes almost 6 GB, but a regular 4K 24 fps will do just as well, so why torture yourself like that? I'm now shooting in the free Blackmagic camera app, where you can adjust everything manually, and it immediately shoots with the 709 profile
If you do the latest update to Final Cut Pro it has a LUT for Log iPhone media. Very quick and easy. BTW you are not "Fixing" log media...it supposed to look like that before using a LUT or color grading.
Click on the media in the Event...click on "info"....click on "extended" in the "Add Custom Meta Data Field"...then click on "none" in "Camera LUT". You will now see the original log data. Final Cut Pro, with the latest update, automatically selects the "Apple Log" LUT.
If you think LOG footage needs to be "fixed" you probably shouldn't be shooting in that mode. This video has useful info, but is NOT for people who want to learn how to color grade in a professional context. Move on to other videos... ->

Thanks for this simple and thorough explanation! Usually color grading is so intimidating, but you made it seem so simple 😊
Glad it was helpful!
🥰
Great tutorial. I just hate that people are thinking that log footage is “broken” 😂 furthest from the truth!
I agree. lol wtf ppl.
Yes, his cell phone is broken lol
Honestly when I first saw some random log footage, I thought...this doesn't look nice lol
You’ve just made my day with a straight forward explanation, and removed the great mystery 👍
Wait, what??? We can color grade right on iPhone 15? You're a genius, Jeven! Thank you.
BTW, when are we going to have that coffee?
You crushed this video. Saved me a TON OF TIME. Thanks for the info my guy!!!
Jeven - You are the best. I have never seen anyone explain how to grade with an iPhone! THANKS

how do i expose correctly with the blackmagic camera app with prores log?
So helpful. Thank you 😇
Do you have any tutorial for recording and editing video in HDR with ProRes?
Hi great video - so I grade them on the phone...but when I pull into editor, cyberlink or da-vinci - still in LOG...any ideas, does the phone method only grade them on the fly in the phone and not actually save the grading when output? Thanks!
Is there any way to get the fotage look the exactly the same as my camera Sony A7 iii? Without manually grading everything?
Find or make a LUT to match them and then use that
@@JevenDovey Thanks
Hi, can someone tell me how that tool is called on bottom right with color pallet ?? Thanks
Ayo, you explain it so well. I hope the right people find your video’s. 👏🏻
Hey Jeven, can you potentially share a few clips where you have color graded these log footage so we can just copy your homework hahahaha
Great info. Love your videos on your channel!
Which color pallet is that and do you recommend it for run and gun shooting?
Hi bro thanks for the video, is there any editing app on iphone that we can use to colour grade the recorded log videos? Thx
This is brilliant thanks Jeven.👍
Hi I’m beginner in filmmaking and I have a question is LUT just filter?
What editing app do you use?
When i try to color grade on my iPhone the video turns black. Why is this?
What camera are you using to film your video?

Wow iPhone 15 pro .. gusto ko yann pang vlog sir
Pang like 916 sir
Are you using 15 Pro or Pro Max? I can’t see the copy and paste edit option.
Super useful info and great video overall! Thank you 😊
Hi Jeven can I use your LUTs in Lumafusion for prores log?
If you can import a .cube file into Lumafusion then you can use the LUTS
Many thanks for this very in informative video. I would highly Appreciate if you bring some LUTs that brings DJIs mini 3 Pro D-Cinelike and apple ProRes in line.
Great video. Thank you
Nice, I’m still thinking about get this phone 😎🤝
Fantastic video thanks
Hi, big fan of your videos, I’ve learnt a lot from them.
Do your Luts work on LumaFusion for iPad?
Haven’t used Luma Fusion for iPad so I can’t confirm but I think you can. Do a google search and I’m sure there’s a video showing you how
@@JevenDovey awesome, I’ve had a little look and LumaFusion does allow me to import Luts. So they should work. 🤞keep up the good work!
The only thing (set aside usability / durability) that separates separates the phone and camera is optics and sensor size.
Why does new iPhone display colours look pastel ? Videos on mine don’t look the best
can you explain what the difference is between this and just shooting regular footage and editing it the same way, wouldn’t you get the same result?
I’m also curious, because it’s like as if I would only get those edits from ProRes Log, I can do the exact same thing with a « regular » video…
Great tutorial!
Don't show the option to choose the log option, on to active the ProRes Mode. Anyone else with this problem?
That 5:13 footage is so mad max like
Thanks you for sharing

Davinci Resolve has Apple log conversion
I don't use Davinci
I thought Final Cut has a conversion built in for iPhone footage ???
I prefer my own
good info.
Thank you
Jeven Dovey? No. Jeven Daddy.

I am confused on how to bring it back to log, all my footage auto LUTs

@@ray3maxwell I finally learned this, but thanks for this.
You look just like the guy from "Film Riot"
Or the guy from film riot looks like me
Is this Post Malone before he got face tats?
I just wear makeup to cover them
Already smashed your phone? 🤣
Did I or was that my old phone because I was shooting ProRes LOG for that shot...
Roma don't be rude, don't make me leave rude comment on your channel
That's my first reaction. Thank god it wasn't your new phone.
"Fix"...you troll

That would imply that you’re older than him and I doubt that. Good try.
